I'm not going to lie, the first time I ate here near when they first opened, I was...well...less than enthused. It was the hot, new place in town, so save going on a Wednesday at 4 PM, it was near impossible to get a table for less than an hour and a half wait. By the time we finally got our foot in the door and tried it, I found the tacos in particular to be devoid of much flavor. Appetizers and drinks were spot on though. Fast forward to current day, we went last week and I don't know what happened but I've done a complete 180 on this place. The tacos were amazing...all of them! Yeah, I had several. Problem?! The drinks and appetizers were still spot on and the service was nothing short of stellar. The waitress interacted awesomely with my 10-month-old and also took the time to acknowledge my 9-year-old to make sure he didn't feel left out of the attention. Definitely check this place out. Great food selection and service -- I love how there is plenty of staff who take anything that is garbage or finished off your table right away so you're not suck looking at it and have some more room. First review of the year and it was out of town! Recent took a weekend trip to NJ/NY and stumbled upon Dirty Taco. Needless to say I will back! Loved the menu options and the variety for bites and sips! Our food was fresh and you can tell the tacos are made to order. Service was a little slow at times but it was a Sunday night so I gave some grace. The street was also some of the best I have had and you could get it off or on the cob! Overall, it's a beautiful venue that carries the theme from doors to floors, which clean facilities. Can't wait to go back and try some more! read more

To start off, stay away from here. This establishment is not accommodating to any health issue's that you may have. My peer was being shamed and getting embarrassed by this unprofessional "general manager" who gave a hard time about her bringing in a certain food item due to a MEDICAL condition she has and cannot have tortilla chips. Not sure if they aren't bringing in enough money here that the manger forced my friend put her chips on their trays because its " Advertisement" for another company and that we were more than welcome to leave if she wouldn't take the bag off the table . ( way to care for your paying customers). We were sitting in the back corner and minding our business and the manager had to rudely come over 3 times to interrupt our dinner over a bag of crisps. Absolutely love everything about this place. We first ate here for the soft opening. It was crowded, well it's always crowded so we always choose to sit at the bar when we do not have the kids. I should have wrote this review months ago but life happens now I can remember the name of my bar attender who I just adore. She was amazing and right on point. The ambiance was bright, colorful, loud, clean and a breath of fresh air. The staff was amazing from the hostess to the bar attender literally to the bus boys I see walking towards the bathroom by the way which is always clean. Okay let's get to the good part. The FOOD. We ordered every Taco on the menu, I loved everything except the Jerk and Pork one besides that I have no complaint. I won't even take a star off for that. The street corn was good. The chip and guac was everything. We literally just do take out orders of chip and guac. Let's not forget the wings, prepared to perfection. We ordered drinks, really don't remember if they were strong or not but I do know I was full from everything and couldn't even finish half the food we ordered. I'm normally a 3 taco person but with dirty taco, 1 or 2 taco with wings, street corn and chip and guac is more then enough. Came here for the first time with a couples of pals. When I arrived I noticed the outside was decorated beautifully, once I entered it was the same in there. It provided a great vibe with classy tables and chairs. The lighting and furniture was perfect, I also noticed the graffiti designs on the walls that were very good. I order the STK burrito I was absolutely delicious, I put her down the hatch with rapid succession. I also had a bite of my friends churros and they were great. Here's the Scoop! Enjoyed a lovely meal at this venue. The restaurant has a lanai setting where the indoor seating feels like your outdoors and the breeze is lovely. We decided to sit indoors and it has a Cali type deco feel to it with sort of a cinco de mayo added. The menu is very creative. The tacos, bowls, quesadillas, and burritos had many filling choices. I ordered the lobster tail taco and peanut shrimp taco with a side of rice and beans. My honey ordered the pork belly taco and fried chicken tacos with a side of sweet plantains. Our drinks were a specialty drink made with honey dew melon oooh la la! So so refreshing! The tacos were yummylicious! Seasoned and very filling. My lobster taco was stuffed with a large piece of lobster. (See pics) The music is pumping with R&B music I could hardly eat bopping to the music in my seat. The service is very welcoming from the hostess at the door to the wait staff. Our waiter was very helpful in the ordering process. We ordered dessert as well. My honey had the tres Leche and I had the churros. Oh my they were delicious! My churros had a drizzle of caramel and whipped cream all around served warm. Decadent!! I'm very impressed with Dirty Taco and will most definitely return. Oh and the prices for tacos range about $6.75 and up depending on what's in it. We went to dinner, the place is really nice and the bar-like atmosphere is well done. The music is good and creates a really fun vibe. The food was not great. It left me underwhelmed and realizing that they make food that tastes like chain restaurant tacos you'd get at Applebee's or Chili's. Lots of sugary glazes on everything and very small portions for the $7/taco price tag. The Asian fusion items, such as the dumplings, edamame and cold noodles were all quite bland and way over priced, but this is to be expected and appreciated in suburban Long Island, these people don't really know food, they just want to leave their kids in a high chair playing with an iPad while they feel trendy for a night. The desserts tasted like they were bought in from off-site, there is not an ounce of authenticity here. I'd rather go to El Bodegon in Central Islip or Vallarta in Hauppauge and get authentic, quality food for a much more realistic price. The drinks were very good, however, inconsistent. Each round tasted different than the others, fluctuating from being incredibly strong to practically virgin. The service is good, my server did all she could to keep us happy though it's odd for a taco restaurant to have a hulking security guard, with leather sap gloves, patrolling the floor the entire time and giving a very uncomfortable feeling. Was there a major taco heist expected? I'm not sure. There was an issue with my kid's food, the manager was completely disconnected when he came over and only took off a few bucks from the bill instead of comping it, which would have been expected, as the issue was generated by the establishment and should have been taken care. Basically, not going back. Hopefully they fix the issues that are fixable, the food though is really the sour spot here and would be the main thing keeping me from returning. My first time visiting this location. I was there with my wife and my son we ordered appetizers wings and ceviche we all enjoyed. The cocktails were delicious we tried the watermelon margarita,passion picante and the Paloma. The tacos perfect as well " Birria,dirty toco,Jamaican jerk and birria quesadillas very tasty. As a fan of their Patchogue location, I'm glad to see a new Smithtown Dirty Taco around the corner from work. I attended a soft opening with a limited menu but it included some of my favorites. The food is consistent with other incarnations of the restaurant and the Asian fusion tacos is always interesting- for my money the Birra and Carnitas are the best built Bang Bang Shrimp is also delicious. They also have a great bar while a terrific range of tequila options as well as a variety or margaritas and draft beer. Haven't been to any of the other locations so I was excited to see this coming in after the Greene Turtle went belly up. The amount of 5 star reviews seemed promising so we were all pretty hyped to come try this on a Friday night. After an hour and ten minute wait we were finally seated. Large interior with plenty of seating and a big bar, couple of outdoor seats as well. The food is where things started getting a little wonky. I'll rate some things below: -Chips & Salsa/Guac 2.5/5: First off, expensive. We ordered both thinking it would come as a combo but ended up getting charged separately for both only to get one tray of chips. Collectively costing almost $20 which is just a rip off. The salsa was almost a Italian tomato sauce taste (no bueno) and the guac was alright, nothing special at all. Chips were pretty good though, however wouldn't order either again. -Tacos: Almost all of them were 5/5's. Very good but a little pricey considering it's $5-$6 per taco. Korean BBQ short rib (5/5), Asian Sloppy Joe (5/5), Buffalo Shrimp (5/5), Chimichurri (3.5/5) that was the only one I wouldn't get again. Just kind of bland. -Quesadillas: Both were "eh" the pulled chicken tasted like canned chicken, and the pork tasted like chicken! Both were overly soggy and a bit bland but decent nonetheless. 3/5 for both. Overall, I'm sorry to say we really weren't all the impressed at all. With 5-6 other Mexican spots within a 10 minute distance in any direction this definitely won't be a go to. I get the Asian flair is different and definitely has a niche but it just wasn't all that great. The drinks were weak and tasted too much sour mix (Mango Marg, and Spicy Marg) and the idea of spending almost $7 on just chips and pasta sauce salsa when most places give it for free is just a pet peeve of mine, but it was pricey for tacos. Probably come back for another try when things settle down but so far I feel 3 stars is a fair review. read more

This is a tough review bc I really wanted to be blown away by this place. We arrived by 5pm expecting a wait but there wasn't a wait to get in... seated promptly by 5:05 which was cool and not expected bc I've heard about the wait here so we purposely came early just Incase. Let's start with the atmosphere- 10/10 absolutely fantastic, it's inviting and always something to look at, the decor was awesome and made you feel like you weren't at your average restaurant. Big thumbs up to whoever designed this place, it really adds to the overall dining experience. Service 10/10 - our waiter John was awesome, he was super attentive and friendly. He explained the menu well and kept checking on us and apologizing for the wait, he had a good personality and made you feel welcomed. Food- 6/10 6/10 We started with some Mexican street fries they were pretty good, could have been crispier the dressing on them wasn't bad was just felt like there was something missing with that sauce. I wish the food was as good as the vibe, my husband and purposely tried a variety and here are our thoughts: The korean short rib- 6/10, this one was my least fav surprisingly, too much sweetness on the meat and I did not like the kimchi which to me is also an acquired taste and I'm sure someone else would like it. I just know for the next time nothing with kimchi. Bacon cheeseburger- 9/10, this one surprisingly was my fav, great combo of ingredients and was delicious. The southern fried chicken, 8/10, my second favorite! Pork spare rib 7/10, good but wasn't my favorite, was my husbands favorite out of the two he tried the other one he had was the korean short rib and he said he liked the pork spare rib one better. I think to top off was the wait once we ordered. The place wasn't bombarded when we arrived and sat by 5 after 5 but thankfully for ordering some fries to come out as an app bc after that we waited an hour and 20 min until our dinner came out from the moment we sat down, it was explained that our food ticket had fallen in the kitchen and it was put back up wherever so it went out of order. This obviously was extremely frustrating to hear but made sense what was taking so long and why other people got their food first. We continued to try and stay patient as we know the restaurant just opened. I understand it's only your 18th day of opening so giving the benefit of the doubt on this one and hoping the next time I return I have a better overall experience I know within some time the kinks of the wait time can be worked out and I will definitely try other tacos on the menu :) Don't come when you're super hungry, go a little earlier especially on the weekends bc if you aren't waiting for your food you will be waiting to be seated!
