Busy spot! Lucked out with a request to sit outside and it was readily available after told the wait was 20 min. Strange because we were not offered to sit outside, but that was the place to be on a breezy night. Our server was super nice and patient as we all decided what we wanted to drink. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. I went on a Saturday night and it was packed. We joined the waitlist an hour earlier. It was extremely busy. It took awhile to get our food. Someone in the party didn't get their food due to an issue in the kitchen. They were too busy to check in and realize. Once we finally told our server food was missing, he was able to rush it. There was a mistake with one of the food items and it couldn't be fixed because the kitchen was too busy. It would take another 30 minutes. The food was delicious. We were still charged for everything despite the issues with our order. The server was nice but very busy as well. I would recommend going maybe during the week. Cousins date night this week consisted of a HEFTY gossip session and amazing food at @dirtytacoandtequila. Let's talk food.... For apps we got the guac and quest.... Both amazing. && the chips were perfectly salted. SO GOOD. I also need to shout out the Mexican street corn. I will eat this no matter where I go. It is one of my favorite dishes. It was so good. The Tacos I tried were the birria, the caramelized brussel sprout and the carne asada. The barria is just such a classic I defiantly recommend. && If you're feeling a little adventurous please do try the brussel sprout. Pairs with a sweet Thai chili aioli and I cant even explain how good this made it. They have so many taco options to choose from. Nickolette & maddie both got the Birria, bang bang shrimp, and the dirty taco taco. We went on a Sunday during brunch hours. Our waiter Justin was very friendly, and very helpful since it was the majority of us first time here. He was very attentive. There was a woman who was bussing tables and as I wiped my face with a napkin, put it down, she appeared and took the napkin. We finished our last bite or sip and she was taking our plates. I highly recommend Dirty Taco. My family and I started coming here about a year ago and it has quickly become our favorite restaurant. Besides amazing food and drinks the service is amazing. If you go, you have to ask for John. He is the best waiter by far. My family asks for him every time we go in. Besides being a great waiter he is very personable and always takes the time out to speak to all of his tables. His unique style allows you to feel like he actually cares about his tables and he's not rushing you out the door. Okay, first off, we saw this place from the outside and didn't think we'd be able to get a seat, but we definitely did! The hostess was amazingly nice! Emma was our waitress and she's very VERY knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. She's very genuine and you can't find that in restaurants anymore. Her attentiveness is greatly appreciated, as well. She didn't steer us wrong with the appetizer. We were stuck between Asian nachos and wings. Since you can literally get wings ANYWHERE, we decided to get the Asian nachos, and we do not regret that decision. I'm all about multiple flavors, and I love it when they dance on your tongue, which is exactly what happened with this food. We also ordered the Brussel sprout taco! Jerk chicken taco! Birria taco! Southern fried taco! And Calamari taco! All were great, but I'd say the Calamari doesn't need to be a taco. The Calamari can be an appetizer on its own and do just fine. The southern fried taco was good, but I'd rather have less toppings so I can taste the chicken. The jerk chicken taco is amazing if you can handle the spice! Which we can definitely handle and love the real taste of marinated jerk! The birria was great. EVERYONE SHOULD ORDER THE BRUSSEL SPROUT TACOS BEFORE CONSIDERING ANY OTHER TACO. Honestly, I walked into this place thinking it was overhyped and walked out a believer. Inside is super spacious and brightly lit with Cali decorations but be warned, there is quite a wait for a seat. A table for 4 on a Sunday night came up to 40 mins. But once we were seated, I ordered a few tacos, a side of peanut noodles and a midnight blue cocktail topped with Casamigos. The tacos were overall tasty! I'd recommend going for the fusion tacos instead of the classics. The chicken tinga was a bit dry imo but the buffalo shrimp and ahi tuna were excellent. The peanut noodles were by far my favorite though. Savory and nutty; I could've had that as my entree and been happy. The midnight blue packs and punch and the tres leches cake and churros are a sweet end to an excellent meal. this is the absolute best taco spot in long island. dirty taco is relatively new, but it's quickly become a staple. the tacos are super reasonably priced and come in generous portions. my favorite is the kung pow chicken taco--each taco features a unique flavor combo. they also offer a great range of seafood, meat, and vegetarian options. the nachos were incredible; we shared a plate and they were simply heavenly. there's a ton of seating inside, including spots by the bar, but even with all that space, it's usually pretty busy. plus, the place is decorated super cute. if you're in a big party, it's hard to snag a table, so definitely reserve ahead of time. it's super popular for a reason, and i'll definitely be back. highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area. read more

I've been to the other Dirty Taco and Tequila locations, and then Smithtown opened up very recently. According to my friend who lives in the area it has been HOPPING. Fair warning when you come, though there is a public lot (same lot as Carraba's and DT is located where the green turtle once was) it is jam packed. We parked alllllll the way on the far end of the lot. Not a big deal really but take note anyone with mobility issues. The atmosphere was super cool and I loved the artwork and embellishments throughout the restaurant. Lots of graffiti and funny signage so A+ for that. Service was also wonderful. No complaints from me there. They were happy to make my drink sans tequila/virgin but still give me a fun watermelon bevvy. My hubby ordered the mojito with upgraded tequila. I thought my drink was too sweet, and his drink was very very strong. My bar for mojitos and margaritas is Besito because they are the best there is (in my opinion) and these fall short of that standard. The food had an Asian flair which is cool. Though the sign says they don't accommodate changes to the menu they will for health issues/allergies. I ordered the peanut tofu salad bowl. I can't eat quinoa so they made mine with plain rice which I appreciate. They do have a good amount of vegetarian/vegan options so yay for that. My other negative here is the noise level is through the roof. It is LOUD so it's hard to have a convo especially if you are with a larger group, which I think this place os good for because it fits that vibe. If it's just you and one person or two it's probably easier but in our group of 12 I could only hear the person directly next to me. We also happened to be on a grand opening celebration night and a few of us snagged t shirts which is fun. This is definitely a relaxed place and great for a celebration- if it's your birthday expect to hear 50 Cent "go shorty, it's you birthday". Even if it isn't your birthday it'll be that of a few people dining regardless lol so sing along, and have fun. read more

Dirty Tacos = Smithtown, I love you. I no longer do I have to drive to Patchogue (thank God), to fight for parking just to enjoy a well crafted libation and some righteous tacos. Don't get me wrong, the Smithtown location is SLAMMED with so many limited parking spaces. But the rewards are great. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a large bar. Last Friday I wanted to take my wife to dinner. She likes to come home, get out of her work clothes and then go to dinner. We arrived at 6:30 and it was pure madness. Parking was very tight and the front must of had all of Long Island standing around waiting for a table. I go to the front desk, 90 minute wait we're told? Now I have a plan, for the following week, get to the restaurant early and my wife will have to dine in her work clothes. Once inside, they really did a nice job in both fun decorations and seating. Some of the pictures made me laugh, they're all referring to Dirty Taco. The chips and salsa? Fresh and very addictive. Drinks? So on point, my wife loves the Dirty White Sangria. I didn't have Tequila but my cool cucumber was very strong with lots of Tanquery Gin, cucumber slices and lemonade. Let's talk tacos! Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish even Vegetarian Tacos are being served On Corn Tortillas. Last night I tried the Pork Spare Rib taco and the Southern Fried Chicken taco. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the soft opening of another fabulous location with my mom and my boyfriend. It was a limited menu, but still something for everyone! Leanna was our waitress and she was great. Now the eats... My boyfriend got the birria taco, bulgogi beef and bang bang shrimp taco. He enjoyed them all. I don't remember what tacos my mom got but I do know she enjoyed it! Nothing says good eats like clearing your entire plate! My mom also got a side of peanut noodles which she enjoyed and my boyfriend got Mexican street fries which we shared and were delish! For my tacos I had Vietnamese shrimp and caramelized Brussel sprout. SO GOOD! I dream of these tacos. I prefer my tacos to be on corn tortillas as opposed to flour. When I ordered my tacos this way, Leanna asked if it was due to allergy. While it was only a preference, I loved that she asked if it was an allergy. She was very mindful, which is amazing. For drinks we had coconut margaritas. I also had the special Dirty Taco house beer. It was light and refreshing. Definitely a summer vibe beer. Amazing experience as always! We finally got to try this after already being such fans of the Patchogue location. It was a Thursday around 6 PM and the wait was 45 minutes, and it was worth every minute. As expected by our wonderful experiences at the Patchogue location, we were treated and greeted from the start with kindness and enthusiasm. You can always tell a great place when the employees are just as excited as you are to be there. The new location is so spacious it's probably about twice the size of the Patchogue location, and I love that they put the open glass doors along the front so the entire place just feels like an outdoor experience. The inside is quirky and artsy and fun just like the other locations. Not too loud other than when it's somebody's birthday that they celebrate with so much enthusiasm! Food was completely on point as were the drinks. At our table, we had: watermelon margarita, mango, margarita, pineapple, jalapeño, margarita, whiskey, sour, and the house beer. Everything was exceptional. It's so rare to find a bar-keep that pays attention to the little details. I love that they are served in these mason jars, and it is quite the generous pour! Apps were: the Adisn style nachos and Shishido peppers. I don't eat meat so I didn't try the tacos, but both of our meat eaters at the table were ooh'ing and ah'ing. The Shishido's were perfectly grilled and served with a Crema and some cojita cheese, nice and light and satisfying! For the mains: our vegetarian had the cauliflower, the Brussel sprout, the street corn, and vegan chorizo. She said numerous times how delightful it was to go to a place where there are actual options other than "can I have a bowl of pasta without the meat". She said everything was absolutely delicious and so satisfying! I had the Ahi, tuna, the crispy calamari, and the salmon teriyaki. I was only able to finish the Ahi and the crispy calamari, which were both exquisite. The ahi was cooked to perfection, and had the perfect balance of acid, salty, and just the tiniest hint of sweet and spice. Calamari was cooked perfectly with a light crispy coating that didn't overpower the fish. It had this lovely spicy sweet sauce, and a crunch of a bit of slaw. I only took a bite of the salmon and took the rest home but it was delicious also. Our meat eaters had the Korean barbecue, fried chicken, Aji, tuna, and pulled pork Carnita. Once again, they were very satisfied and couldn't say enough good things about how well it was prepared and the balance of flavors. Towards the end of our meal we were greeted by the owner/manager, Thomas. We told him what fans we were a Patchogue and how we were so excited to have a Dirty Taco closer to us that did not disappoint. He was so lovely and conversational. It wasn't like he was doing this "obligatory hello," it was like he was truly interested in our feedback. What a surprise when he gifted us two desserts at our table! The Tres leches cake was ridiculously good. So moist with this lovely balance of sweet cream that didn't overpower it. The churros were light and crispy and served with what tasted definitely like homemade whipped cream. Our server Junior was fantastic too. He made great recommendations, was genuinely interested in our experience and made the night even more special. I can't say enough good things about this place. It doesn't feel like a chain but they're growing, and I sincerely wish we could invest in it. Lol. Everything is done right here from management to decor to food to experience. It was the hot, new place in town, so save going on a Wednesday at 4 PM, it was near impossible to get a table for less than an hour and a half wait.
