I've never played disc golf in my life. However, when I saw that the store was nearby some of my other errands, I stopped in. There is a disc golf course near my family and we've thought about playing over the holidays. I wanted to learn a little bit more. The store has more discs than I've ever seen in one spot! I like that they have a used section for people like me who are just getting started and don't want to shell out the big bucks. The staff member I spoke to was really helpful in giving me the basic information on what to look for in a beginner disc. My conclusion was that there's a lot for me to learn, and I wasn't quite ready to jump in. I would not hesitate to return to the store when I am ready to start playing! read more

I was at the disc depot store today and when we came in all my cousin wanted to do was trade in some discs! The lady helping him was looking over his discs and asked if he found them and he obviously said yes. She then replied that she was going to take them, instead of just asking him if he called the owner of the discs. The funny thing is she only took them, after remembering one of the names, meaning she really only cares about people she knows. My cousin took a lot of time out of his day to find the discs he went in a crap infested creek to find them, and got sick from it. And if anyone wants an VIDEO of it, I got one. read more

For probably any other store, having such a strange location would knock at least one star off my review. Disc Golf Depot however is such a great shop, I can totally overlook that. We're lucky to have so many shops in Portland to pick up discs, many of them with pretty great selections. After going into Huk Lab (RIP) I thought there was no way I'd ever find a greater selection. Boy was I wrong. While most other stores carry 5-10 discs of a single mold, Disc Golf Depot has literally dozens. For every mold out there they have a plethora of colors and weights available in each plastic type it's offered in. Short of the internet, I have found no other store where you can find such an amazingly thorough inventory. No longer do I have to settle for a disc in a weird color or weight because that's all Next Adventure had. Sure, I have to drive a little out of my way, but I can pretty much guarantee they'll have exactly what I need. In an industry where new models and plastic types seem to come out daily, this is truly impressive. Not only can I always find exactly what I'm looking for, but they somehow manage to keep their prices cheaper than any other store in town, at least by a buck or two across the board. Whether you're just getting into dilfing or you're a seasoned pro, I highly recommend stopping in here next time you need some new plastic. As you can tell by the pictures HUGE selection. What I loved most is the solid used discs section. Picked up a couple disk today. one was $4 and the other was $6 (Good condition). The owner name is miller and .... MILLER IS THE MAN! Walked in and Miller was JAMMING out on the piano in the back. Comes out and find out he was the homie. Super chill super laid back super helpful. I spent 40 minutes in there trying to get more than a grunt out of the owner. Might be a fun place if you know the owner, it really sucks if you don't. What a complete waste of time. Great selection, small space, phone and email messages have yet to be answered. Zero customer service. This is not a business, this is a hobby shop for the owner. I'm dead serious, you might feel like you're buying drugs or you might get that that weird craigslist am-I-gonna-get-robbed-killed-or-worse sensation as you walk up to ring the bell but when he opens the garage and you behold the selection (OMG THE SELECTION!) and then start talking Disc-Golf you find the guy knows his stuff and this was a really good idea after all. We bought 4 discs for our kids and ourselves (most are $7). JUST MAKE SURE YOU CALL FIRST so you know he's gonna be there. Seriously, the only reason I don't give him 5-Stars is that it isn't a storefront and so people by themselves, ladies, the elderly, or those with kids might not feel comfortable doing business this way. Also, when we called he was stepping out for a bit and there was that fear we'd show up and he'd be an hour late. All these problems are solved by a storefront. read more

Call ahead good idea. This dude is the bomb. He has more knowledge then all the snot nose Yuppity people you deal with at other so called disc golf shops. He took the time with out any hesitation toshow my kids the proper way to throw There discs and then came out side to help with there foot work. The shop may not be what your use to but he more then makes up for it with all he offers. I live a few hours from the shopand ill be maken the drive any time I need somthing. read more

* No longer in a garage (older reviews mentioned that, I guess from long enough ago when that apparently was the case)! ***HOW TO FIND IT ON THE PROPERTY!*** (feels like you're finding your new dentist's office inside its office building, which isn't itself a problem in the end) 1 - Find the small office building that it is inside, using your favorite map app to guide you to "Disc Golf Depot". 2 - Go to the part of the parking lot that is covered - walk inside the door to the building that is there. 3 - Walk up the stairs (only goes up 1 flight) that are ahead (I think to the end of that hall) on the right. 4 - Walk forward as far as you can, and then turn left at that corner and again walk as far forward as you can. 5 - By now you'll see it! Last door on the left - oh here it is, would never have expected a shop like this to be inside a little office building like this! And boom - enter an ocean of colorful discs! :D You'll obviously think the best thing about this great shop when you first step in, is the hundreds (if not 1k+) of both new and used (I've seen as cheap as $4) discs! They're all sorted pretty well (especially considering how many), plus the staff always can immediately point you where to find a disc by name or description - they can even tell what type of disc you have if you bring one in to show that doesn't otherwise mark what it is! Besides the selection itself, other great thing (alluded to already) is the service & advice - I can't imagine it being any better! I've learned as much here as I ever have from any course or friend. Whatever skill level you are at, or whatever loose description you can give to describe what you want, they can key off that to make both great disc recommendations as well as playing tips! read more

Guys, I love disc golf at much as anyone. And so you must know how excited I was to find out that there is a store just around the corner from my new place! It's in a little business park that is crazy hard to navigate through once you get in the building. Once you find your way though, you step into a plastic addicts dream. Thousands of discs greet your eye and they are somewhat well sorted. Pretty much any disc you're looking for, they'll have. My real issue here lies with the customer service. I brought my girlfriend so that we could pick up a few discs for her first round in the afternoon. I grabbed her a few discs, myself a few discs, and headed for the register. We were greeted by a man who kept making jokes about her likelihood (or lack thereof) to succeed, and to cap it off, he made some ignorant joke about me "letting her win." It was a disappointment to say the least. Then, they have a stone age card reader that took about 10 minutes to process my order. Not really a big deal, but it sort of added to my imperfect experience. Their prices are also a little higher than other shops I've been to, but that's understandable. I would definitely recommend this place to other people, but I won't likely be going back. read more

I have been shopping here and only here since I fist started playing disc golf about 12 years ago and I will continue to shop here for years to come. The store and the owner are great. I was looking for just 8 or 9 discs for a mixed age group of absolute beginners to be able to play the occasional game. Jerry, the owner, was wonderful. After I explained what I was looking for, he asked the general ages & sizes of the players (some children and some much older folks.) He helped me choose a good mix of discs for what I had in mind. We will be coming back to Disc Golf Depot. The store is in a nice business office plaza with five or six other businesses. (East Side Church Administration and Rover Security are two of them.) The space is nice, with lots of windows. Since it is winter I was there after sundown. I want to disagree with a previous review about the store space --- I felt very comfortable as a woman alone visiting there for the first time after dark. There were lots of other businesses open nearby visible through the windows. It is true it is a business office plaza, so you enter the building and find business, like you were visiting your accountant or doctor. (So maybe a little different from a retail space with a big glass front --- but much nicer.) (Back entrance is simplest, and it is on the second floor.) When I arrived he was patiently showing and then observing another customer's attempts at getting their wrist right for a type of throw. I was impressed with how kind and patient he was, and felt comfortable right away. Besides a really big selection of discs for disc golf, there were also some "frisbee-style" sport discs, and some "floppy" sport discs, that are great for travel or some careful indoor play. read more

whoever wrote the comment above probably likes nametags and spots with built in starbucks. this place rocks. it is in a guy's house and i imagine that most business is done online, but if you make it to the shop (and you should call ahead if you do), and are patient and respectful enough to realize that you are dealing with an enthusiast and proprietor, not an hourly wage clocking customer service rep whose job depends on fake smiles, then you will find the most complete selection of products from nearly every company in the disc game at the lowest prices, and some quality info. If interacting with people, who aren't there exclusively to kiss your ass, isn't your thing, then shop online and at least take advantage of awesome prices and selection. After all, you gotta meet someone to know someone right? Very unhappy. Putting aside that this place is very difficult to find, with virtually no signage: I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was one of three people in the store. I was never greeted, acknowledged, spoken to whatsoever. The only time I was even looked at by the guy behind the counter was when I left (I got the feeling that was just to make sure I hadn't stolen anything). I spent a good ten minutes in here browsing through discs, checking out the used plastic, looking for something specific. It was clear that I was trying to figure out the layout of the store. I was even in the market for a practice basket, and was checking out the one they had set up. I have no idea why I was ignored. Maybe I was over-dressed (having come from a funeral) and didn't look like I was on my way to the course. The operator was not too busy to talk to some other guy who walked in, and answer his questions. I had heard from other golfers that this was THE place to get your plastic, that the owner/operator was great. To be honest, I will never be back, and will argue with anyone who shares this opinion in the future. Yes, the selection is the best North of Grants Pass. But I can go online and get zero customer service, and pay less. If I've found your store, there's a reason I'm there, I have money in my pocket with intent to buy. I passed on buying a used disc for $6 (let alone the 5 new discs I liked) because I was ignored. One simple greeting would have saved me the time of writing a terrible review, and your till would have a few more bucks in it. read more
