Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary
    Rob M.

Came here today on a whim because I was wandering and I realized I need to go to more places randomly. No way around it - wild vibe inside. Even when you're looking in from outside. Once you enter, you begin to understand and appreciate the disco pancake vibe for what it is. IDK if I'm remembering accurately but I feel like there's a big disco ball hanging somewhere and this sparkly tree but you cannot let that distract you from the fact that everybody in here is in a good mood. From the patrons to the team, everybody is having a sick time at Disco Pancake. César was my guy. Can do nothing but applaud his outstanding service. Attentive, personable and kind. The service was so great I promised I would come back with my full squad on a Saturday/Sunday sometime soon. I will deliver. I ordered the eggs benedict which I found to be really good. Coffee was great. I did indulge in a bloody mary and César gave me the option for the spicy one; I accepted. It was the move. Idk I had a great time here and like I said will be back very soon and I will bring the entire squad and we might stay there all day

It is a fun place to go out for brunch! Friendly staff and a wide variety of food and dishes to choose from! It was a fun and lively atmosphere! I got the chicken and waffles! It was delicious and the syrup has a sweet and spicy kick to it, loved it! The only major downside was the cream for my coffee was curdled and ruined my cup of coffee. I was able to get some more cream, but the oversight the first time was not pleasant.

We ordered an omelette with bacon. The omelette was dry and not very tasty. The potatoes that came with it, ditto. We had much better for less $$$ at a pizza restaurant yesterday. ( Yes - breakfast at. a Pizza place). The Coke I ordered to go was a Pepsi (okayed by me), but was $4 for a small cup. I would not go back to the cutely decorated and named Disco Pancake because despite all the 'cute', I came for the food. $31 for a bad breakfast (tip included) heck no! Never again.

Let me start by saying this: just because I had a bad experience doesn't mean you will too. Now, onto the review. For a place called Disco Pancakes, the fact that they don't offer a single main dish that includes pancakes as a side feels like a seriously missed opportunity. You can't even order one pancake à la carte which would at least make sense from a menu-design standpoint but no, that option doesn't exist either. I understand not every restaurant gets to design the perfect menu, but that's not even the real issue here. The real issue is this: how do you call yourself Disco Pancakes and still manage to serve pancakes that bad? Honestly, it's impressive in the worst way. We ordered two stacks originally. Both came out completely undercooked gooey in the center. We sent one back to be cooked longer and tried to eat part of the undercooked one just to see if maybe that was their "style." Remember when I said it was impressive? What's even more impressive is how bland and forgettable the pancakes were. No flavor, no personality, no soul. They tasted like pancakes made by someone who showed up to the disco wearing all black and refused to dance just standing in the corner, easily forgotten.

Hair found after we had eaten most of the pancakes :(

Upscale greasy spoon. Upscale due to prices and greasy spoon because I found a hair in my pancakes. Now, the bussing and support staff; top notch. Food was underwhelming to be honest. Coffee was okay. Cream served in am espresso cup; made pouring messy. Spoons weren't offered or in the set of rolled silverware. Will not be returning.

Step 1, grab your bestie/significant other/stranger off the street..literally anyone you can share two entrees with. Next, you're going to get the Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes (thank me later) and you're also going to get the avocado toast. Finish your order off with an order of the hash browns and prepare to be mindblown. We went on a Sunday @ 1:15, not busy at all. We sat inside and the atmosphere was iconic, and they have an outdoor patio! Our food came out in less than 10 minutes & we could not believe how good it was. We washed it down with bloody mary's. Yum. Delish, great service, i WILL be back!

Delicious pancakes & great service. Busy spot. My eggs were overcooked but everything else was Devine!! Vibes are super cool and the interior is beautiful!

Boogied on down to the Disco Pancake for a groovy brunch with my family. The decor and ambiance inside was so fun and full of disco balls and great vibes. They also have an out door patio. It wasn't super busy for a Sunday mid-morning so we were seated right away inside. The service was fast in the beginning and the food came out fast but then our waitress didn't check back until the end of the meal which was a little lacking. We enjoyed the avocado toast, a byo omelet, ricotta lemon blueberry pancakes, belgian waffles, and waffle hashbrowns and bacon on the side. All was very good. The pancakes were almost overloaded with the lemon-blueberry topping and I had to ask a bus boy for some syrup, but it still satisfied my sweet tooth. I am surprised that with a name like Disco Pancake that there weren't more pancakes on the menu, but the ones we had were very tasty and loaded with toppings. The side of bacon was nice and thick but was oddly 2 pieces cut in half to appear as 4. What stole the show was the waffle hashbrown - hashbrowns seasoned to perfection and cooked on a waffle iron to create a deliciously crispy delight. Might be the best hashbrowns in the city! We disco-vered a new good spot in River North for a tasty meal and something on the menu for whatever makes you groove!

This seems like a fun spot for brunch! I came here after a morning workout class with a friend. Their Crispy Pistachio French Toast was delicious. Our server was helpful when we were making our decisions. Their other Disco Stacks (brunch dishes) seem to have unique flavors. The decor is fun. This seems like a place that you can have both a chill brunch or a boozy brunch. The location is great too!

First time at the newly rebranded Dicso Pancake. Let me start with praising the delightful service from Ericka. She is one of the best, most thorough servers I've ever encountered. Her attention to detail and positive attitude were the highlight of our meal. We will return because of her! The food was also tasty. We tried a shared plate of lemon blueberry pancakes. These are yummy. Though we didn't catch any lemon flavor the blueberries were fresh and plentiful. They serve with a tiny amount of syrup so you'll need more. I ordered the Florentine Benedict which was on point. I went with hash browns that were crispy and delicious (look like mini waffles.) I don't drink coffee but my friends said the small opening for your hand in the coffee cups was a problem for them. Skip the Bloody Mary, it tasted like cold, not quite smooth, tomato soup. What a fun vibe! Strobe lights, neon signs, festive decor and jamming (sometimes a bit too much base) music. Cute outdoor seating area and a bar counter which is cool for solo diners. Right now there isn't a wait but I bet there will be soon. Don't delay! Ask for Ericka!

    Shelby H.

The food was good! They were really busy so we had about a 35 minute wait. It went by fast for us, we meandered and they just texted us when it was ready. We waited I would say over 10 minutes to be greeted once we were sat. We went through almost 2 water pitchers and the people behind us received their food when we were sat and done eating by the time we were greeted. Our food was behind about 4-5 tables so it took a little bit but it was good! We had the biscuits and gravy, my over easy eggs were slightly underdone and slimy. Two eggs & very thick crispy bacon (yum!), and a benny for the birthday girl. they came out with an awesome birthday dessert which i think made it all worth while! great selection of cocktails on this menu. beware of pricing, $5 for one egg or $10 for (two eggs) 2 eggs, toast, and potatoes.

    Tatiana N.

First off, Erica was our server and she did not disappoint. That was the best service I've had in quite some time and absolutely will be back again. The food was great too. I ordered a Disco Benny and breakfast potatoes. More drinks would be a nice offering but other than that, I was very excited to try. Disco Pancake did not disappoint. I liked the decor personally and enjoyed my experience there.

It was dimly lit inside and there was a guitarist playing music. We decided to do the 3 course Prince Geja's combination. The first course included swiss Gruyère cheese fondue with assorted breads, vegetables and fruits. After that they brought out Prince Geja's combination which was beef, lobster tail, shrimp, chicken breast, and sea scallops which you were able to cook in the boiling hot broth. I really liked how there was 8 different side sauces brought out so you could add some more flavor to the meat and seafood. The last course was chocolate fondue served with marshmellows and a side of fire. It was as if you were making smores because it also came with some graham cracker sprinkles. It also came with some fruits to dip into the chocolate fondue as well. The service was great. It was nice they had a coat check. A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
