This is my poor pup. This is what they did to him & didn't even care.
    Mia S.

Was taking my first pup here for over 2 years, then got another dog and started taking both of them until last week never again, I picked both of them up from disco paws was in a rush to go to work when they brought out my 2 dogs one of them kept whining but I didn't think anything of it, came Home dropped them off & went to work, after I came home I saw my dog Still feeling down & I observed him closely and he was all cut up! I called them the next day as soon as they opened, & pretty much they told me oh we're sorry, we will give you 25% off your next service. I wasted $120 for my dog to get botched? I would never bring my dogs here ever again!!! BE AWARE! But what killed me the most was no one said anything to me, at least if they would of told me, hey we're sorry your dog was fidgety, whatever the case was, nope nothing, they were all hush hush, so like I said don't bring your dogs here, please.

I love the care they show my fur baby The grooming is wonderful. Natalia does such a great job with him. The staff is so helpful and kind. I was introduced to disco paws by a friend and she didn't stare me wrong

Basics of grooming a husky mix that every licensed groomer should know

FURIOUS. Absolutely FURIOUS. Negative stars if Yelp allowed it. tldr: Don't get your puppy groomed here unless you hate your pup. I'm all about supporting small businesses, especially in the pandemic, but this is just absolutely outrageous and infuriating. As a business and groomer, don't make your own decision on how to groom a client because "I thought it was cuter". Follow the specific instructions and requests from the customer, ESPECIALLY for breeds that have specific grooming needs. I brought my puppy, who is a pomsky (Pomeranian and husky mix) for a grooming session yesterday with Pamela. When I dropped him off, I specifically asked for a trim near his private parts, face and his legs because he is getting neutered next week. NOTHING about touching the fur on his body. He has beautiful silky, soft and smooth fur with no matting. We brush out his coat every day and he takes human-grade fish oil pills with his breakfast. His coat WAS beautiful. All is seemingly going well until I don't receive a call for pick up at the 3 hour mark. My pup has gotten groomed before and as a double-coated pup, it does take a bit of time. I called Disco Paws and spoke to Nicole, who checked in with Pamela, and relayed that she has no idea how much longer it will take for him to be ready.... What?!?! Mini-panic but I let them do their job (I mean, Pamela's been grooming dogs for years, she knows what she's doing right???) I finally get a call 4.5hrs in and told to come pick him up in 30min, totaling FIVE HOURS for the appointment. I arrive and I'm completely blown away - not in a good way. Just look at the pictures and you'll see why. Pamela COMPLETELY SHAVED ALL HIS FUR and gave him a Pomeranian teddy bear cut. HE ISN'T A POMERANIAN and is DOUBLE-COATED. Any licensed groomer with any experience, should know that double-coated dogs should NEVER EVER EVER EVER be shaved. NEVER. It's dangerous for their skin and their fur will never grow back the same. Look at what he looks like now - completely bald. When I asked why he got shaved, Pamela said she started with the razor and the blade got stuck due to matting (his fur was never matted - see pics). Since she already shaved patches, she just continued with it, WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME and completely disregarding what type of cut I wanted. I asked why his face wasn't trimmed and she had the audacity to tell me "I think it looks cuter that way. But come back next week if you don't like it and I'll fix it". You had him for FIVE hours and couldn't give me the style I asked for?? To top it off, he has a nick with dried blood on his inner leg from the shaving. I stupidly paid and tipped on the electronic machine before they bought my pup out. Complete mistake. Michelle, the front desk lady, offered me a free grooming session "for my troubles". You're kidding me. I'm never coming back and sharing my experience to help prevent such atrocities for other double-coated dogs. How's a "free session" going to help ensure he doesn't get sunburnt since you shaved until I can see his pink skin? How is it supposed to help with dog clothes I now need to purchase because he can't regulate his body temperature? I wasn't planning on buying any attire for a pomsky - their magestic coat was more than enough. Why would I ever subject my pup to another FIVE HOUR GROOMING SESSION?! Amanda, the owner, called me this morning to offer a full refund of the service, but that doesn't fix the fact that your groomer completely ruined my puppy's fur and now I need to spend more money to fix everything Pamela's done. If you don't know how to groom double-coated dogs, be upfront and don't take them as clients. My pup is not a ragdoll for you to test your grooming techniques on. Never again. Don't come here for the grooming unless you hate your dog.

Disco Paws! First - such a cute name Second - these guys are rockstars Riley (cat) desperately needed her nails cut. I called ahead to confirm the cat groomer was in. Rolled in 30 minutes later and Riley was taken back almost immediately. While waiting I made small talk with the two ladies working the front desk - both were so personable and wonderful. We spent the 5 minutes she was getting her nails cut chatting about the rescue I foster failed from and shared cute stories about our pets. The groomer came back with her in her carrier and told me she did a wonderful job...exactly what every cat mom wants to hear. Great experience, and we will be back for her next mani/pedi appointment.

We've been using them to groom our dog for years and have typically been very thrilled with the staff and results. Today was not the case. When dropping off my very timid dog, the groomer came out and instead of picking her up dragged her into the back nearly closing the door on her (she is a 12 pound chihuahua mix) We do not do doggy daycare because my dog is NOT dog friendly and very fearful and aggressive of other dogs, to my surprise the back room was full of lose dogs! I spoke up and the front desk woman asked the groomer to please put "her dogs" away to which she shrugged and did nothing. My dog was returned to me with a bloody paw, and I asked if anything went wrong to which they said no. The report card they sent also did not mention this. If you do not like and respect animals, please please open a different business. The owner of this company should be ashamed of how they let their business go

0 STARS. First off let me say if you're on here looking to see wether or not to get your pet groomed, I HIGHLY suggest you look else where. A bit of background info, ive lived in the neighborhood for years and have always only gone to disco paws for my 10lb yorkie for a groom, because I trusted them and have had good experiences in the past. To start i made an appointment for him last week, on the phone the lady said "we have a new groomer just so you know" me thinking nothing of this just said ok no worries, thinking that they do a thorough check on the people they hire as a business. Today, the day of his groom I decided to check out some Yelp reviews just to be sure his hair would be good etc. ALL THE REVIEWS from the past two weeks have been BAD, I should have known then. When I brought him in this morning I spoke to the lady who was behind the desk (not the owner) and expressed to her my concerns with the reviews I've read, saying that I understand some people complain to complain but that I wanted to make sure he was going to be ok and she understood and assured me of that. Walking in to pick him i Pay, I tip.. and then he comes out.. as im putting his jumper on him he starts bleeding PROFUSELY from his back left paw, and I mean SO much so that splatters of it were all over the floor all over my hands behind I'd be holding him before hand. I showed the lady and she looked mortified and went to get the groomer and tissues, he kept bleeding and bleeding so much they had to come out and put some quiq stop all over his nail and paw. I asked her to call her the owner now because I'm basically trying not to cry at the point and when she comes in the phone all I got was a "no refund, and the bleeding will stop it's just a nail" THATS NOT THE POINT HERE GUYS, I trusted you like many others with my pet who is 10 years old and GOT forbid he gets an inflection. Lady next to me saw what happened and thanked me and walked rite out of the store with her little dog and cancelled her groom. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS BUSINESS THINKS TJAY TREATMENT IS ACCEPTABLE. I'm not one to write reviews, complain or ask for money back but this has me so upset and so incredibly angry with 0 empathy from the business owner, the poor girl behind the desk isn't to blame but you guys will never have my business again and I hope to god people take this review seriously. I also hope that he now dosent get an infection. JUST POOR.

We brought our dog there for a bath and a nail trim. He was there 6 hrs and they shaved him when they weren't supposed to. He was already a short haired dog. When I first walked in was yes just about when they were about to close. They looked at me from the back and gave me hand gestures across there throat and I continued to have them come talk to me and they turned there backs to me. So yea I'm going to be mad and not so nice and throw a couple of F bombs in there. Also they were very rude, and the manager refuses to answer the phone or call back. All they did for me was not charge me. The handler didn't even know the groomers name and they work together. He supposedly only worked there about two weeks. Clearly doesn't know what he is doing. I called him retarted because he is retarted. How are you a groomer and don't know not to shave a double layered dog. Even if there was a miscommunication you should have made sure what you were doing before it. I called the manager there claiming she never got my call I left two voice mails. The store supposedly called her also. Yes it may be after hrs on her shift but if there's a problem you should try and fix it if you care about your business. Then I was accused of trying to destroy small businesses. There using the pandemic as a excuse. You shouldn't hire people who don't know what there doing just to keep your store open. Before and after.

For context, I have a 2 year old anxious labradoodle named Gus. When he was approached by new people he would aggressively bark and growl. I had worked with another dog trainer for over a year -- his problems just became worse. I became reluctant to do things with Gus because I was fearful he would growl/bark/act inappropriately when meeting new people. I was at my wits end and I consulted with a well respected training program here in NYC that said he was a "moderate to severe case" and would need multiple weeks of boarding training + years of follow up training to address his issues. Anthony solved Gus's problems in 1 session. Yes, 1 session... Within seconds of meeting him, Anthony just "got" Gus. His advice and feedback was completely different from the feedback I got from the other trainers and Gus responded immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say that Gus has not growled or barked at a single stranger since working with Anthony. I have been able to do so much with Gus and he seems so much calmer, happier and more confident than he was before. I only wish I had reached out to Anthony a year and a half ago. TL;DR- Don't waste your time or money with other trainers. Call Anthony today. You will be glad you did.

Before Sean, we primarily received criticism and judgment from trainers rather than actual training techniques and strategies. Sean was undeterred by the fact that we had littermates, and he provided clear guidance and feedback from day one. Our dogs were immediately responsive, and our sessions with Sean completely transformed our communication and relationship with our boys. His patience and insightful feedback really instilled confidence in us as owners of large breed dogs, and we have since received countless comments about how well-behaved our dogs are (which we always attribute to his expert training). Now when I take him for walks, Ollie never barks at anyone, not even at other dogs. The only time when he barks is when we are inside the home and there's someone approaching the door from the outside. He walks great on the leash, and listens to me. You have to keep on practicing the commands (heel, sit, leave it, lay down, stay, drop it, measure walk, and a few more). I'm extremely grateful for Michael and his training.
