Great response and quick scheduling to help with new tree plantings. Needed to make sure system could accommodate watering and Discount Sprinklers was there to help! Jordan and his associate arrived on time and worked around the nursery that was planting the trees. They were quick and professional and then fixed a couple of more areas that I noticed were filling with water. They uncovered piping that had holes causing the planter to flood. Called Discount Sprinkler. Were able to come to my home within a couple of hours. Quote for repair seemed high. Told him to go ahead anyway. When he was done, the original leak problem was still there. He told me it would be another sum of money to fix the "real" problem versus the one he had given me the quote for. In the mean time, I received a quote from another service that was half the cost of what DS charged. Do not use Jordan from DS. Do I want a green yard? Yes. Do I want working sprinklers? Yes. Do I want to pay through the nose to have them fixed? NO! And finally, Do I know how to repair them myself? No, but give me a DIY website and I can just about fix anything! It seems that my house has issues with water. Bathtub not draining - Fixed myself. Discovered that its best to NOT put orange rinds down the disposal - Hubby fixed. Busted bubbler valve on sprinkler - We fixed (capped it off). 3 of 5 sprinklers not working and anti-siphon valve leaking - Might need to call in the calvery. So I called Discount Sprinkler (called a few other contractors who were lic/bond/ins. Discount is NOT Lic/bond/insured). Discount was the second company to show up - 1hr late. Possible Red Flag. Drove up in old beater van and practically parked in the street. Possible Red Flag. The first estimate - $150.00 (anti-siphon valve and 3 new heads) Hmm... $150.00? Let's keep talking. After that quote, I asked him about the solenoid valves below the ground. I wanted them gone and to have the system manual. He went for a shovel, and started digging out around the valves. Then he started messing with them, taking some of them apart and then turning on the sprinklers multiple times by cranking the (already ready for the dump, but not completely broken) anti-siphon valve. Yeah dude, I really wanted a shower/mud bath right now. Thanks. After he was done screwing around, the anti-siphon valve was completely shot. It was not just leaking when turned on now, but producing a steady stream of water when in the off position. New estimate - $325.00 (new manifold and anti-siphon valve) The next thing out of his mouth, "So when do you want me to start the work?" I looked at J and he said to the guy we'd call him in 24-48 hours. J and I proceed to go inside the house. I was PISSED! Do I think that guy purposely broke the valve to try to get the job? Hell Yes! Does J think the guy broke it on purpose? No. Does he think the guy was careless? Yes. So, I did some research on the internet and called my uncle to ask for help..... Trip to ACE Hardware - $2.50 in gas 3ft thick wall PVC pipe and PVC parts - $15.00 Labor - maybe 1hr 30minutes (total between 2 days) Working sprinklers in the front yard that was a DIY project - Priceless! read more

I placed a call to the business because the box with the valves was retaining some water. A young man came to our home on Sunday, but was unable to fix the problem at that time, but provided us with an estimate of $390 to repair one valve and a leak in a pipe next to the valve. While we thought the estimate was high, we payed and assumed the work would be done. In fact, we returned home to find the drip system turned completely off. When we turned it on, copious amount of water began pouring out of the box with the valves (MUCH worse than it was to begin with). When I placed a call to report that the issue was not fixed, I was told that they would provide me with another estimate. I paid to have the issue fixed, not to receive another estimate. I have truly never been so disappointed with a business. I would caution anyone that is even slightly considering this business to avoid the headache, and get the work done elsewhere. I feel strongly that these are dishonest business tactics. If anyone believes that I am being too harsh, please read my other reviews as I believe they indicate that I am generally satisfied outside of this place. Just had discount sprinklers at my house for an estimate. Quoted me $315 for new pvc pipe set up for my 4 valves in back yard. The old pvc was leaking and needed to be replaced. I ask how long it would take he said 2-3 hours to cut and piece together the new pvc pipe set up for 4 valves. I thought the price was high and asked why he is charging $100+ an hour if the job took 3 hours. He came back with we don't charge by the hour. But every labor job I have ever paid for has been quoted by the hour + materials. This is not my first home repair job. And pvc pipe materials are not expensive. Said he could do a referral discount and charge us $275. I asked him to break down the costs of doing the job. He refused and said that is their flat rate to do the job. He gave me his card and left in a huff. No trying to work out a deal, no compromise, and certainly no explanation of why the job was worth $100 an hour for pvc pipe work in a open back yard area. Job was done by another company for $65 out the door. Took less than an hour and works perfectly now. Trying to gouge a homeowner is not how your grow a small business. We called multiple sprinkler repair businesses in Phoenix, which included the Sprinkler Guy, Pro Irrigation, and Sprinkler Repair - none of which serviced our area. And to be quite honest, none of the mentioned businesses were that nice or helpful in pointing me in the right direction, but I guess you can't ask for too much if you're not a potential customer. Discount Sprinkler arrived at 5:30 PM and left at 7:45 PM. Initially we were just expecting an estimate, but since it was so fair we decided to move forward that night. He was able to fix and install two leaking valves, identify and address water pressure issues in the back, fix a sprinkler head in both the front and back yard, address a leak on the side of the house, and show me how to program my water system. He was such a nice, hardworking guy, my wife decided to bake him cookies. Discount Sprinkler's is worth more than cookies. Great guy, good service, and completely trustworthy. read more

$65 service call fee! Ok they tell you that upfront, what they don't tell you is they will price the job so high you get nothing but a $65 fee to pay to have them come out. Don't do it, there are others that don't charge a fee to give quote and do the job. They just drive around and get $65 for showing up....should be reported to 3 on your side. I had a need to replace 4 sprinkler valves, cost of 4 valves on high side is $125 top, a few cuts of PVC and couple couplings another $10 and about an hour to two tops by an amateur and they wanted $625. Bad business model bad company and don't let them take your $65. Call Sprinkler repair llc, they came and did the job for 165. 500 less if you don't include the 65 I was taken for by these guys. read more

I was initially skeptical of using this service, though recommended, because of the yelp reviews. But, as you can see the ones listed are pretty dated and don't reflect the experience i had. Mike from Discount Sprinkler was on time, tenacious in solving our problem, was worth the fee just by some additional suggestions he gave on proceeding with some landscaping that wasn't a part of this job. I'm sure i could have gotten the job done cheaper by getting the local gardner that also dabbles in sprinklers, but I'm confident of the work that was done on our system and would recommend this vendor for those that need something more than fixing a leaking line. read more

Responding to Paul H review below: Discount Sprinklers is an upstanding sprinkler repair company. They do not collect and walk away. The estimate was emailed and given and the customer did not respond as of yet. The customer said not to rush as he did not want the work done until after the holidays in January. Discount Sprinklers charges a small service fee for coming out in an area not normally served. That's all was charged. The customer received his estimate by email and still has not responded nor called at all. This negative review was unwarranted as this company is upstanding, responsive, honest and reliable. I recommend them as I've only gotten good responses and used them regularly. read more

I called Discount to come to my home to give me a bid for the installation of a new drip system. They told me that they charged $65 to come out. I agreed and we set up a date and time. The next day they called to say that they do not service my area but that they worked with Affordable Green Sprinklers who did service the area. Affordable came to the house, walked the property, counted the plants and bushes, and asked for and received the $65 estimate fee. They told me that they would send me an estimate within 2 days by email. Although they received the $65, I have never received the estimate. I would never do business with either company. read more

They came out the day that i called (within a couple hours actually) to fix a water pressure issue. The problem was a pressure regulator that they were able to remove and replace (with just pipe, regulator wasn't needed). It was about an hour or hour and a half of work including welding for 100 bux. They also fixed/replaced a couple heads and didn't charge extra. They were right on time and very fair. read more

good quick honest service. I had a number of leaks in my yard near pop up sprinkler heads. I was expecting to be told I just need a whole new lawn irrigation system installed. but they troubleshot the system in about 7 minutes and identified one bad valve was the cause of all the leaks. they had to run to the irrigation wholesale store for parts but even with that trip, my system was fixed and tuned up in less than 90 minutes. I was quite satisfied with the repairs I received there --prompt, reliable, and courteous, with reasonable prices. This time at my Phoenix location, my concerns were addressed (the same day, of course -- WOW). When Mike the service gentleman arrived at 5:30 p.m., I thought surely he would have to return in the a.m. However, he got straight to work, showed me exactly what was wrong, and even worked well into the night until the job was finished! So I'm laughing at the response to my review from the owner of this company and have messaged him accordingly. I never complained about constantly having to fix leaks as he stated, and whoever told him I said that is a liar. I called to have 3 leaks fixed, which I have subsequently repaired myself at a cost of about $15 in parts and an hour's worth of my time. I also have a valve not working, which I asked to have repaired. Anyone can price these at an irrigation supply house, they are not that expensive. And as I said, I did ask for a quote to replace the system, which I never got, and which he never addressed in his response. It should be the customer's decision whether or not they want or can afford to their system, not the vendor. I guess the job just didn't pay enough for them? And for his serviceman to tell me "I guess you should just water by hand until you can afford to upgrade your system" was the real kicker! read more

I spent $800 for one day's work and the workmanship was just ok. technician did not clean out the valve box when he replaced two of the three valves and left it full of mud and weeds. the third valve was leaking and after the repair i was left with a system i still could not use. fortunately, the next guy i called just tightened some screws and stopped the leak. the technician was not engaged in actually helping me get the most for my money, he just wanted to bang out a job and get out of there quickly. read more

I scheduled an appointment and was told they would call me an hour before arrival. They never called and they never showed up. Very poor customer service. Do not use them. read more

Had three new commercial grade inline valves installed a few years ago by Discount, the price was high but they told me they use commercial grade product and they came a five year guarantee. Fast forward to yesterday one of the valves burst and made quite a mess. We were shown the poor workmanship of Discount's work and explained why the valve likely burst. They recommended replacing all of the valves and supply lines near the manifold. I called Discount and was told the 5 year commercial grade valve warranty was only 2, I mentioned the poor workmanship with no response other than "do want us to come out for a service call"? I told him with the horrible workmanship that I received earlier a visit would not be required. We ended the call with me saying to "continue with your horrible workmanship" and he calmly replied "I WILL" read more
