I called beforehand to get an appointment, and was told they didn't do appointments. I went to get my tires looked at, and an hour and a half later they still couldn't get me in. I then made an appointment for a different day. I arrived 10 minutes early, but waited and waited. 20 minutes after my appointment time and they keep letting other people in. If they can't keep my appointment they shouldn't give me one. I wasted two hours of my busy schedule waiting for them for nothing. Terrible customer service. read more

Background: My vehicle is a 2019 Ford F-250 XLT Crew Cab 4x4. The original tires were Goodyear All Terrain Kevlar 275/70/18. Approximately 28k miles and the tires had just begun to measure in the yellow. Proactively, I went to Discount Tire to replace them. I ordered BF Goodrich KO2's in the original 275/70/18 online to be installed at Discount Store at 3869 Washington Rd, Augusta GA. I have owned several sets of KO2's with no issues. I have been a customer of Discount Tire for many years. March 12, 2021: I arrived at Discount Tire at 3869 Washington Rd to have my new tires installed. Installer brought my keys and told me all tires balanced well. Left to head out of town and It was obvious that something was wrong with the balance and/ or the tires. The vibration could be felt in the steering wheel and the seat. It was significant. March 15, 2021:Returned to Discount Tire at 3869 Washington Rd to discuss issues. Tires were checked and found one of the tires was so bad it couldn't be balanced on the Hunter Road Force balancer. (If this was true then how was it ever balanced on the 12th?) That tire was removed and replaced, all other tires checked. The installer brought me my keys and told me everything balanced out well. Within 5 minutes of driving it was obvious that the issues had not been fixed. Wandering and vibration that could be felt in the seat (not so much in the steering wheel) making the truck shake between 35-50mph. Every bit as significant as before. March 16, 2021: Called to speak to location manager. Discussed the issues and my disappointment. Store Manager stated that sometimes tires are just not right for a certain vehicle and that we may want to switch to another tire. I told the Manager that thousands of F-250's run with KO2's without issue. Manager stated that sometimes it's better to move to a different tire. He recommended Nitto Ridge Grapplers and Manager commented this was his go to tire. We made an appointment for 3/19 to trade out the tires. March 19, 2021:Arrived at Discount Tire at 3869 Washington Rd to swap the tires out. Paid an additional $212.50 for the Nitto's which was fine if they helped fix the issues. Walked to the truck with representative to inspect the tires. Found significant damage to one wheel (Chrome scratched, removed, gouged on wheel edge) and pointed it out. Another wheel had the chrome cladding delaminated but not yet torn off. Representative stated "it happens on wheels like this", they are just chrome cladded. I stated it didn't happen when Ford installed them. Nitto's were installed and the installer brought me the keys stating that this time they were balanced perfectly. With 5 minutes of drive time it was once again obvious that the tires were incorrectly balanced. Again shake at between 35-50Mph felt primarily in the seat. March 20, 2021:Stopped at the Discount Tire store at 4538 Washington Rd to ask for help. Maybe their machines were better calibrated than the store at 3869 Washington Rd, Set up an appointment for Monday to check the balance. March 22, 2021:Went to Discount Tire at 4538 Washington Rd. All four tires were checked through the same Hunter Road Force balancing process. 3 of the 4 tires were found to be out of balance. March 30, 2021: Claim filed through Discount Tire Customer Service for damage to wheels. Explained that Discount Tire were the only individuals to ever touch the tires/rims since buying the truck new and zero damage existed prior to the beginning of this ordeal. April 1, 2021: Received this reply from Discount Tire Customer Service: The investigation into the above referenced claim is now complete. According to the review by Discount Tire there is no evidence that any tools used or service provided by Discount Tire damaged your vehicle. For Discount Tire to issue any type of compensation, the company would have to be found liable for the damage to your vehicle. At this time, we have found no liability on behalf of the company. Based on this information Discount Tire is not accepting liability for the damage to your vehicle and, will not be issuing any voluntary payments at this time. I know this review is long, but so was the ordeal with Discount Tire. I have never had an experience like this in the 35 years prior to this of buying tires. I would go in and pick out a set of tires, they put them on and i drove away without any issues...not this time. I very rarely feel compelled to leave reviews as typically the service I receive meets my expectations. I write this to make others aware. Ultimately, I took the tires back to Discount tire and they refunded my purchase price but refused to pay for the over $900 of damage to my wheels... Never Again... read more

He gave me options, explained each in easy to understand detail, & was able to thoroughly explain the benefits of my choice. Time spent waiting was maybe 45 minutes to an hour. In the end this is a tire store and that's what they do, so no buzzers, bells or clowns in an attempt to bring people in. The sales person was a little pushy as I was trying to make sure my wife was going to be happy with the tires I was going to have put on her car but I was ok with it. He didn't push too far. I was worried that as busy as they were it would take a while to get the new tires on. Nope. I was out of there in 45 minutes. That's really good. When you watched people they were hustling. My only comment would be don't make it so the workers are running. Slips, trips, falls. My wife made an appointment for 1 o'clock to have four tires put on. That took close to four hours. The tires had a wobble at interstate speeds. I took the car back to have the tires rebalanced. That took three hours. I had cause to look under the hood a week later. The cap to the brake fluid reservoir was gone. I called the dealership and talked to a woman who told me it would be ordered and available. Two days later I called them because I hadn't heard a peep from them. "I don't know, she handles that and she's off until Monday." I still haven't heard anything. Oh, and the hydraulics that hold the hood open don't work anymore either. read more

I bought four medium grade tires in 2014 from this shop. In January of 2017 with 19k miles on them, two tires were worn on edges, and two were "separated," which meant the rubber was tearing away from the belt. I am the primary driver, and I know I've never hit a large pothole with these tires, have always maintained proper pressure, and have had them rotated at every oil change (3000-5000 miles apart). The separation was obviously a tire flaw. According to autos.com, separation is caused by manufacturer defect (which should have been warranted), tire abuse (overinflation or pothole damage, neither of which were applicable), incorrect flat repair (I had never had a flat), or excessive tire wear (19k miles was not excessive). When I brought the defective tires in for warranty service, the staff at Discount Tire alleged they saw no separation, even though I had another shop's documentation of it. They claimed the warranty would not cover anything, but they offered me a "discount" for new tires. That "discount" for the newest replacement of the same brand of tire amounted to about $40 more than I'd paid in the first place. I bought elsewhere, and the place where I purchased my new tires (yet another tire shop) also noticed separation without me prompting them. Warranties are only good if the manufacturer or store issuing them is trustworthy. They are very good at sales, but they don't honor their warranties. Never again! read more

Went to Discount Tire with a slow leak . Jimmy wrote me up and told me it would be about 45 minutes before they could look at my car. I told him that was ok, to call me when he knew something. He asked what I wanted them to if they could not repair it, and I told him to put a new one on. He called about 55 minutes later and said the car was. Ready to go. I went back knowing they would say they had to replace the tire. When I got there Jimmy showed me the screw they took out of the tire and said they had repaired it and also put in a new valve stem. I purchased 4 new tires for our 2011 Subaru Outback today at this Discount Tire store. It was very crowded with customers. Like a busy restaurant, it gave me high expectations. The customer service was top notch, they texted me when the job was done, and I could see the techs using a torque wrench on the lug nuts. I've had other places strip out a wheel stud using air impact guns, and I typically set the torque at home. Additionally, they had several brands in stock to choose from; so, I was able to buy the tires I wanted without a return trip. The night before going to Discount Tires I called and spoke to Wellington, he took the time to answer my questions and in the process told me they closed at 6pm. I was concerned about making it there on time and he said that as long as I get there before 6 he would stay however long it took to help me. The next day I walked in and John immediately asked if he could help me. We discussed what I was looking for and we talked in length about options, specs and a lot of other things that are Greek to me. Justin was assisting intermittently and gave his advice and/or opinion when needed. Wellington remembered speaking to me the night before and introduced himself. I walk into the place and within 5 minutes I'm greeted and taken care of which is fine. I waited, according to the employee 33 minutes but that's not true. I waited 40-45 minutes. Now everything was fine until... I get to my car and these guys put the 2 new tires on my front wheels. Seriously? A company that always tells me a set of new tires always going on the rear? Interesting. I guess they were too lazy to balance and rotate the tires I already had on there (tires I bought from their company a month or so ago but in Atlanta). Being part of the nation wide discount tires company they were to lazy to stick by their word for free balance and rotation (I was over 3k for the older tires which were on the rear, as explained to me by the employee, and please consider the fact he checked my miles from when I last got tires from them in Atlanta). The bathroom was okay and they give free water bottles in the lobby. All in all... These people bent 3 rims on my car, 2 of which are badly bent. Was given denial of any and all accountability as well as refused any attempt at resolving issue. Bought new tires, had to bring car back same day due to severe shaking in front end accompanied by hard pulling to the right when braking. Was informed one tire had been very over inflated to 50psi when max load is 40psi! Balance was supposedly checked and I was sent on my way being told everything was in working order. Front end turned out to still shake and now pull to the left. Called for an appointment, 2 days later when car was dropped off again it was supposedly corrected again and I was advised to take my car to have the alignment checked. I did. The alignment was perfect all along, the problems were due to the techs at Discount Tire ruining 3 rims therefore compromising the integrity and safety of my car. I want answers. read more

Justin explained the issues with trying to get it out and referred me to a local service shop where I can get the remaining bolt piece out.
