The service techs who helped us were helpful when providing information but felt a little pushy to upsell their products and safety coverages. But they keep your tire, that "cannot be fixed" even if you ask for your used tire. Watched them take 3 women like this then I left right before they almost got me. He was SO nice and helpful despite the store being crazy busy on a Monday at 9:15am. I'm so grateful to have met him. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Rotation and balance appointment at 2:15. Writing this review while still sitting in the car at 3:45!!! It's a free service, but it was included with the price of the tires. Why schedule an appointment? I would rather pay for the rotation than sit in their parking lot for an hour and a half. All cars have tires from Discount. Likelihood they will next time.......ZERO!! Update: I called the store and spoke to the manager Cody. He seemed surprised that I had been waiting since 2:15, but said he would get me taken care of. Five minutes later, Cody came to the car and apologized. He said he took care of the issue with the person who checked me in. He assured me that I would be the next one in the garage. Ten minutes later, someone comes out and takes in the car parked next to me. That person arrived an hour after I did. I will never buy tires at Discount Tire again. read more

I've been to the discount tire on Ben White and never had a bad experience but this time going to the one on burnet I was really truly blown away. I would now like to revise my opinion of the Discount Tire Rebate Center. Surprise Surprise! The rebates that were originally denied, suddenly and unexpectedly came through. I received two rebate Cash Cards in the mail today. On top of that, I looked closer at the Rebate Submission form I had received at Discount tire, and realized that the form they gave me, was outside of the 8/30 to 9/2 2019 Rebate period for the Labor Day Discount. For some reason, I hadn't noticed it, or perhaps the Discount Tire Salesman, told me it was still good when I did the layaway on 4 Sep. Come to think of it, I think he did tell me it was still good. Later on 9 Sep, the Discount Tire Salesman was going to submit the form for me when I completed the purchase. That's when things went south with the Rebate Center. However today! The Cash Cards were in the mail! Who'da though that would happen! When I called the Discount Tire Rebate Center this evening (twice) they were extremely nice! They said the rebate was still good and consider it filed within a grace period. Add one more to this. The Discount Tire Rebate Center Rep told me they honor the Layaway date as well. So as long as you get your receipt submitted, even as a laway within the promotion period, you should be good. On top of that they apparently are flexible on the dates if you are a day or two late. (Maybe not always, but if you ask?) Maybe they can accommodate and apply a grace period. So, A Huge, Big Turn Around from the Discount Tire Rebate Center. The Discount Tire Sales People at the Store are Top Notch. The Discount tire Rebate Center Represenatives are Top Notch. I have bought tires from Discount Tires for at least 15 years or longer and will continue to do so. Discount tire in Lakeway is just to busy. Because of the tight schedule the employees are rushing to get to the next car as quick as they can. It's like they have a 5 min timer on. I know by accident one of them put a small dent on my hood. After I said something right away, the manager who wasn't out where my car was being worked on. Denied that the minor damage to my hood was not due to the employees. As a large hose is quickly placed on someone else's hood. I just looked at the manager and said you were not out here to witness it. Discount tire did send me 300. To repair the damage. My thoughts, over worked employees on a timer and a manager that just made himself look like a a$$. FYI, my car was barely a year old with 14,000 miles on it. I ordered a set of Nokian tires online. The order was routed to my local DT on Research Blvd in Austin. Next day Josh from that location leaves a voicemail saying the Nokians I ordered are discontinued. How could I successfully place an order for discontinued tires? I call back and get Louis who tells me the tires aren't available. Ok. Why would Josh say discontinued and Louis say not available? They never once made any kind of offer to move my installation appointment to a later date so that I could get the tires I actually wanted once they had them in stock. Seemed like they were going to try to sell me what they had in stock, rather than provide me with what I actually wanted. While on that call, I ask Louis for a refund. He tells me I have to show up in person to get the refund. During a pandemic. SMH. Of course I make a trip in to get the return and the clerk does the return without ever asking for my card. I explain my frustration about making a special trip just for a refund and one person saying the tires are discontinued, the other saying they're out of stock and the clerk shrugs it off claiming it's all just miscommunication. Since DT was unwilling to sell me the tires I wanted I went to SimpleTire dot com. I got the tires I wanted, supported a local business installer and it was all less than what DT was going to charge. I have been getting tires from Discount Tire since the mid nineties and have always been happy with their services and understand a wait. This visit was a little disappointing though. I came in for an air check and was basically invisible to any of the staff. No greeting or a "hey were super busy but we know your here and it may be a little bit but we'll get you taken care of " nothing but ignored. It was at least 10 minutes before I finally flagged someone down then an additional 5 minutes before someone actually performed the air check. This ain't the Discount tire I have grown fond of over the years. I went to the Research location 9/11 to get a repair on my tire with a nail in it. Anniversary of the tragedy right. The tire was not purchased there but Jay said they would fix it for free when I called. I checked in a little before noon and requested my key to leave without the repair at 2 PM. The amount of goodwill Discount Tire lost from me can't be measured in the time I waited if they had done a better job of communicating the length time I would have to wait. The location at 8219 Research Blvd - No accountability, sloppy service.... I went there to get tires mounted. There were about 8 people before me. I mostly waited outside on a bench. I was watching my tires being worked on, and then I got a text stating my car was ready for pickup. I could see there were still at least 2 tires not even mounted yet, but I went in anyway in anticipation that they would be pulling out my car and then come call my name and hand me my keys. That never happened. I waited 10 minutes and then I noticed my car was nowhere in sight, and I went and asked about it. The "Senior such and such" - no manager on duty this day was handed me ,y key out of the pouch behind him and told me my car was probably parked in the back. So I guess it's up to me to locate and retrieve my car. I walked out back - no car. I went back in and "Senior whatever they like to name themselves guy" told me it was probably across the street or in the adjacent lot. They finally located my car but that's not all. This is not the biggest deal even though it is bumbling idiocy - the reason I am writing this review is because the "senior blahblahblah guy" tried to Gaslight me twice which really pisses me off !! Don't stand there and tell me (TWICE BTW) that they called my name when I walked inside the moment I got the text saying it was ready - and the car was still up in the air with not all the wheels on it yet. Therefore they had NOT pulled it out and there is no way they would have called my name to give me the keys or tell me it is ready. DO NOT BLAME THE CUSTOMER WHEN YOU ARE WRONG!!! OR ELSE YOU WILL GET REVIEWS LIKE THIS. I don't like to argue with people who are trying to gaslight me and tell me something was MY fault in front of a room full of people when it was actually THEIR fault. I was double charged for and online order. Once on June 26th when the order was placed and then again on July 4th. I had an appt on July 6th for the service to be performed but was charged the second time on July 6th. I was told that one of the authorizations would fall off however this is not the case. Although this location has always been well run, today was especially impressive. 8am there were 7-8 customers at the door, and out comes an army of technicians to handle each customer simultaneously at their vehicles, without having to line up inside first, easily saving 10-15 minutes to start. I appreciate the initiative Jose B took to inquire about the type of driving I was doing with the company car, my desire to have an in stock set of tires, and I was back on the road in 30 minutes. Most importantly, I know that each of our employees are treated equally well, regardless of the location, regardless if they just show up, or have an appointment, and the tire technician knows to make sure to email the invoice to me, the fleet manager, without asking, making maintaining our fleet's tires easy and efficient. Another stellar experience at Discount tire. Bought 4 discontinued tires that I love for my truck online with the expectation of them arriving at my local store within a few days. I made my appointment and the day of it, I actually got a call from Jason letting me know that their online system is terrible at pulling info as to when all 4 tires will arrive due to them spread out at other stores around the country. He suggested a replacement of higher price for me, but I told him I'd keep my appointment and we could hash it out in person. When I arrived, Jason showed me a couple of alternatives that I already had in mind as well, but knew weren't in stock. He tracked them down and got the local wearhouse to send him 4 a few hours later. When I returned again later, he picked me out of the regular line and took care of me asap in the appointment line. My neighbor let me know that Discount does a free air check, I never knew that before! I showed up at THE LAST minute before closing and Johan agreed to turn the air machine back in for just that one tire. It turned out I had a flat! Best experience at a tire place ever. I was planning on getting a set of 4 tires after the new year, however my parents decided to surprise me and pay for them as a Christmas/Bday gift. They live out of town, however she called on Tue and spoke with CJ who helped her get the right set for my car. He was friendly, and knowledgeable and had everything set up in the system so I wouldn't have any hassle. He also set an appointment for me for Saturday @ 10am. He suggested I get there around 9:30. Fast forward to Sat morning.. I arrived just before 9:30 expecting to be there until at least noon. To my surprise, I was out the door by 10:16. The gentleman who helped me was pretty quick and everything matched my request online. The first time I went to this location, they put my tires on and did not balance them. I had to go to a different location where they fixed my issue. My second issue, I went to this location for a FREE tire rotation. They did the rotation but when they took my vehicle off the lift, messed the whole bottom panel on my car, which now needs replacing! Not only that, their staff in the bay is rude and were yelling in an aggressive manner at one another. I have had great customer service at other Discount Tires, but this one.
