I went in on Wednesday. It was really annoying that after explaining my situation they tired to sell me a bunch of stuff instead of actually replacing the tire my car needed. When I got my car back the low tire pressure light was on and I thought it would go away later. It didn't go away. They changed my tiresthen rotated them. One of them had a nail. Awesome service. I pulled in on a Monday afternoon to find the parking lot packed. Christian, one of the reps, greeted me with a smile. I had a nail in a tire off another vehicle. Christian came and got the tire out of my car, met me inside and got my contact info and said it would be a couple of hours to fix it. So I went home. About an hour later, I got a text saying it was ready. I headed to the store and was met by Christian who recognized me and went and got the tire and loaded it for me. This was the day before Thanksgiving when no other store would be available to help us by the time we could get there. The worse experience I have ever had with tires and service at any Discount Tire. I have had to return 7 times for tire balance issues after buying new tires here. Each time I was given the run around and told that the tires were not balanced the previous time. My third time return visit I was informed that if the issue continued that they would replace my tires because it could be defective tires and the tires were ordered just in case. When I returned the fourth time, there were no records of the previous conservation and they blamed it on the tires not being balanced correctly again. Now, after the 7th time returning and me being irritated and upset, they are finally changing the tires, but I will have a 2 1/2 hr wait. I will never come back to this store if I can avoid it. read more

I've been a Discount customer for 18 yrs and this company has progressively gotten greedier and balzier over the years. Corporate has been telling their staff to sell at any cost. 1. I took a set of 7 yr old tires with less than 200 miles on them to get rebalanced and they said they could NOT balance tires this old and were NOT allowed to put them back on the car (policy) 2. I took my wife's truck with 4 yr old tires to have a flat fixed. They said the tire was too old and could NOT put the tire back on the truck even if fixed (policy) 3. I bought new tires (from them) for a 2014 Mini Cooper, took them for a rebalance at 6K, and they did a poor job, so I took it back and they told me ALL 4 of my rims were warped or bent. I went to my Mini dealer, had them all rebalanced and now they're perfect! I believe I am done with what once was a fair and honest company. The three issues were just this year. I have been there and other Discount Tire locations in many states. The average Wait time is tripled at this location. Even for a tire pressure check. I was standing next to my car in the garage bay for over 5 min watching employees walk by without anyone helping. It's a busy location and always seem to have staffing issues, because of that the service is horrible. If you HAVE to use Discount, might be worth going to Austin. read more

Was driving from Austin to Houston when the tire light came on. I was thankfully near this location so I stopped in. The wait was long, but they told me that upfront. It was a hot day and I was with my dog, so they both let us wait inside. Turns out dogs are welcome at Discount Tire, which is great. I work in Manchaca, and live in Bastrop. After my husband had a heart attack, I was additionally driving back and forth on Hwy 71 from Bastrop to Austin, and somehow picked up a little screw in my tire, which added to my stress levels as far as needing to get my tire repaired. After stopping at Lamb's Tire on Slaughter and turned away at 4:30, "sorry we can't help you" (and they claim they are open until 6), I made it safely to Discount Tires in Bastrop by 5:30. Jeffrey waited on me, was sympathetic, understanding and FAST! My tire was fixed and I was heading home before they closed at 6. He even offered to make some fresh coffee if I wanted some! (at the end of the day! WOW!!!) Everyone was busy, you could tell they were all hustling to get their jobs finished, and then it came time to pick up my Mustang. When they said "no charge" I was floored! After a very stressful week, the light in the tunnel was not a freight train! I hope the staff likes breakfast tacos! 2/3/15: in at 845, out at 915. Went in for two leaking tires. They found a nail in one and a pinhole defect in the wheel of the other. Since we pervaded the wheels at DT, there was no charge to replace the wheel. They fixed the other tire at no charge. Additionally, we are a few thousand miles away from needing the tires rotated. Let me start out by saying that I have bought every set of tires for the last 20 years at a Discount Tire store. This is due to the knowledge, pricing, warranty and friendly service that EVERY Discount store offers. BUT today I was disappointed!! I came in to have a flat fixed that had a small nail, center tread, and during the breakdown of the tire the technician used a large pry bar along with the equipment that they use for this. They fixed the nail hole and remounted the tire. After refilling with air they now notice a "bubble" on the side wall that was caused by the large pry bar the tech used. At first they tried to say it was not their fault until I called them out after seeing how it was broken down by their tech with my own eyes. They finally agreed to replace the tire but they won't have it for a few days. In the meantime they did put on a "loaner" tire to help me save my weekend plans but I will now have an unbalanced tire tread depth on the rear axle. I will continue to buy tires here but just very disappointed in the tech who serviced my vehicle. read more

Amazing service here. I had a riding lawn mower tire that came off of its rim. I called to see if this was even something they could help me with and they told me to bring it on by. I had my 6 month old son with me, went inside and explained the problem. The DT employee went out to my truck to get the tire, put it back on its rim and checked it for punctures and then out it back in the bed of my truck.
