I'm not sure how hard it is to patch a tire, but I'm guessing that after a couple of tries I could nail it. Or... UN-nail it as it were. That being said, I've never fixed a flat (not counting an ex-girlfriend's boob job I paid for) and couldn't say for sure how hard it is. The shop looks like every other side street tire repair store, and I think it is as clean as it's going to get. The guy who works the front desk is very nice and attentive. He had a couple of people getting tires from another location and told me as such. He was honest with the approximate time, which was still only an hour, and met every need I had. I got a nail in both back tires that needed to be patched, I'm a thousand miles away from home (OK, you got me, it's only 984 miles), and I don't need the headache those bigger shops can cause trying to upsell me, or tell me the tread is too low, and they can't replace one tire, blah blah blah. I've been going here for years, but thanks to the experience I had tonight I definitely won't be back again. I don't know if they were trying to scam me because I'm a woman or what, but I am really disgusted by my most recent experience. Dec 19th I hit a curb, my fault, and when I took it in to get the tire replaced the young dude working told me the rim was damaged but the tire itself was fine, so they just replaced the rim. I was surprised when they told me it would be $50 because last time I bought a tire and rim from them it was only $30, but I figured that prices went up and that it wasn't a big deal because I'd had good experiences here in the past. Tonight I came out to my car after work and discovered that same tire was flat. When I took it off, I found a gash on the back side of the tire. I hadn't hit anything or had any issues since then, so I knew it was from when I had it replaced. I brought it back in and they told me that it was my fault, that I should've gotten a new tire in the first place, and that they weren't going to replace it - even though I'd originally asked for a new tire and they were the ones who told me it was fine to just switch out the rim. Not only that, but the guy there tonight tried to tell me I was "lucky" for only being charged $50 for a rim, even though it was almost double what I paid for my last tire, got pissed at me, and started arguing with me when I told him I wasn't going to buy another tire from him when I already paid $50 for the one that went flat. I don't know if the guy who originally switched out my rim was lying when he said it was fine or if the guy tonight thought he could make a couple extra bucks off me, but either way I am definitely not interested in or comfortable coming here again. read more

My tires lost air pressure and I was driving towards discount tires someone pulled over and said they can take me to a place closer. I come here and wait 45 mins for my turn and the owner was asking me "are you from around here?" And I said no since it's not there business. In the end, charged me $20.00 to fill some air in my one tire. I paid up because I had an emergency and had to drive to another city. So I was recommended by castor oil b/c all 4 of my tires were super old I came here and waited for Alex whom the guy from castor oil recommended I did have to wait about 5 min but I met a cat in the meanwhile who kept me company. ALEX SUPER HELPFUL! And funny ! Let me know b4 hand that he only accepts cash in which I had to leave and grab some he let me know that either way I would be next!! I woke up to a flat and no spare. I recently moved to Del Valle, knew no one. I called and they had someone come to me within 20 minutes. He brought a tire to me! They are so friendly! I came back that evening to get my brakes and rotors replaced. I had a sleeping toddler with me so he told me I could stay in the vehicle while they replaced them, lol. Wow. I'm impressed and have already shared my good experience with coworkers. Yesterday on my way to work, I hit what I thought was a coke can in the street. I felt a jolt and knew right away my car was screwed. As I pulled up to work I realized my front tire was going flat, quick. I called my roommate who told me to check for my spare and do all these other things that I just didn't feel I could do with any confidence. Ugh. I immediately pulled up my Yelp app on my phone and found the closest tire repair. I called and the guy on the phone was very friendly and gave me directions. I showed up at 4:15 and was back at work at 5. These guys are awesome. They have a very friendly demeanour and down to earth style of dealing with customers. They were willing to call around to help me find a new rim to replace the one I bent. They also patched my tire for free. I was so glad that I played helpless girl because I feel I have found a true gem. This is definitely a place I would return and absolutely will recommend to others. read more

I was at a gas station with a flat tire waiting for roadside assistance when Alex came up and asked if I needed help he said that he had a garage that had used tires and he could put a tire on at 9:00 pm if I just wanted to follow him to it it took him only five maybe ten minutes to change the tires. DONT GO HERE!!! I would give it 0 stars if I could!!!!!! Brought my car in for a simple fix. Even went to get two different parts they said they needed. They said it would be done by 6pm. At 5:45pm they call and say they have the wrong parts and it will be done at noon the next day. Called the next day and NOBODY could find the mechanic (had to call 10+ times to get someone to answer). Couldn't reach the mechanic on his personal phone and he NEVER showed up!!! The people there did nothing to help, just wanted to wait until he got there. They had no idea what was even wrong with my car or why it was there. The mechanic took something off my car (tension puli) and just took it! I ended up going somewhere else. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! DONT GO HERE!!! read more

Went on a Saturday to get two new tires for my car based on a recommendation from a coworker. Very laid back atmosphere but hardworking and honest workers. Cash only too. Highway robbery! Took our car to have the window motors replaced. They referred us to a guy (named Johnny) that was working on a car at the back of the shop. He asked for the money up front to buy the parts. Took him 1.5 hours before he came back with the parts and as soon as he started putting the motors on another customer arrived and immediately started arguing with him about a job he had done poorly. I should have known repair was going to end bad. A few days after the window motors were replaced one of the windows stopped working. The owner and son tried to give us the run around that Johnny didn't work for them he only rented a space at the back of their shop. Not to mention they were not responsible for his work. I tried for 3 weeks to get in touch with Johnny but according to the owner and son he never came back to work. Finally after 4 weeks and many threats that I was going to take legal action they finally agreed refund ONLY the money for the part but not labor. Needless to say STAY AWAY from this place. A bunch of chicanos trying to take advantage of their own people. read more

Worse customer service I have ever experienced. First phone call lased for 5 seconds, and I got hung up. Then I called again, they hung up immediately. All I was trying to say is "do you open tomorrow and do I need to make an appointment to come." Worst service I've ever experienced, I left a rim 2 weeks ago to get repaired, they said on Monday it will be ready, I called and they said no it will be ready in, a couple of days, I called back Friday they said no it wasn't ready, I called back Sat and he gave me his boss's #. I, called him left a message and never got back to me, I finally came in this thursday to speak to them in person, and they had no idea what happened to my rim, one of the employees found buried on a pile never been worked on or even looked at. Yes I was very disappointed because they were highly recommended by rent a tire, who I do business with. I told them that I needed this fix and they said we can send it to get it fixed tomorrow and will call u and I said no I've been waiting for 2 weeks, and they said a be its best u, take it somewhere else, and I told them how unprofessional they were being and they responded by, saying that they are professional because they, do their job right. If that was the case then why is my, rim, not fixed why haven't I been called about it, better yet why was it sitting there buried for 2 weeks, but ok u call yourselves professional. read more

I didn't have much to spend and needed a complete set for m AWD Subaru. We end-up getting one bum tire that caused shaking at high speeds. The folks at Ajax initially thought the problem was caused by a bent hub cap. Brought the car back a second time as the problem only seemed to worsen. They discovered the bad tire quickly and were very apologetic that they did not initially detected the problem. Everyone in the shop was great and super friendly and made it right!
