What's the point of making an appointment when my car doesn't get taken back for 2 hours! I had a 10am appointment that I'm taking time off work for. Staff is all friendly, but be prepared to wait. Have an appointment? You'll be waiting at least 30-45 minutes until they even take your vehicle in. Just had my winter tire changeover appointment and it took 1 hour and 10 minutes for them to take my car in. Not sticking with them for future service anymore. Not worth the headache. read more

This last service at Discount Tire was less than acceptable, which really is a bummer as I've been a customer of theirs for over a decade and have used this specific Discount Tire for 4 years now across 3 different vehicles. I walked in on a Saturday during an admittedly busier day to get some new UHP All-Season Pirellis put on my 99' Volvo V70XC. Now I'll preface this with the knowledge I'm no stranger to cars or tires; I'm a bit of a Volvo/Tire nut and have done plenty of research on tire fitment, sizes, etc. I've spent my fair time in the forums, sites like Tire Rack/Tyre Reviews, and know way more than I should when it comes to rounded rubber. As soon as my wife and I walked in the door, we were greeted by a younger guy asking what we were in for; all good and per usual so far. The man goes out to check out the tires I bought in, and asked where I bought them from. "Simple Tire" I said. "Well if you bought them with us, you would get installation free." He says. "Ah man I would've, but you guys did not have them in stock and I got these for a killer price!" " You should return them and just order them through us, as we use many of those sites as suppliers." "Thanks, but again the tires were not on your website so I assumed you didn't stock them anymore and I just want to get these installed." (older model Pirellis P Zero All-Season Plus, which they no longer stocked) "Well you should just return them." At this point I was already on edge by getting grilled by the employee to hassle about mailing 100lbs worth of tire back to a website I regularly use. All of this to just get refused actual service once inside because "the tires are not rated to the OEM load rating of 98". They were rated at 94, WHICH IS HIGHER THAN THE MANUFACTURERS SPEC OF 89 FOR A 17IN TIRE. For those that don't know, a 94 rated tire is good for 1477lbs of load-carrying capacity, making total capacity of all 4 tires 5908lbs. For a car that weighs 3700lbs. WAY above required, and easily found out with some simple math or googling. After refusing service they said nobody in town would install the tires, except maybe Les Schwab because "they do shady S**t". So they're right, I went to Les Schwab and had no issues installing my tires in less than an hour the same day. All-and-all, very disappointed with the service we received that day. This won't be the last Discount Tire I got to, but it will be my last time going to the local one in Bend. read more

Beware Installation Incompetence and Terrible Customer Service Discount Tire damaged by car's rear wheel bearing that ultimately required $1,000 in repairs to it and the rear brakes. Discount Tire won't compensate me for it. They also won't talk to you if you ever have a serious problem. They're going to send you to a third-party company who clearly is designed to say, "No." A company is defined greatly by how they handle problems, and Discount Tire is TERRIBLE. I've been a long-time customer, and I won't be getting tires from this company again. If after reading this review you won't be going to Discount Tire again, please click a reaction icon. The Full Story I went to Discount Tire on August 26th after my mechanic suggested that I get new tires. At that time on August 23rd, there was no issue with the braking or rear wheel bearing. Immediately after the installation by Discount Tires, I could hear a mishitting / semi-squeaking noise in the rear wheel on the driver's side. I wasn't sure what I was hearing, so I went home. The sound continued over the weekend, and I came in on Monday, August 28th to have them look at it. All they did was check alignment. The installer wouldn't even listen for the sound. He passed me off to go to another mechanic. I probably should have demanded that I talk with a manager, but I didn't. The sound continued. On August 31st, I went to a mechanic, and they heard the issue. They couldn't immediately diagnose the problem, and I was getting repairs on a non-related issue, which they fixed. The issue continued, and I went back to the mechanic again. The mechanic tried to fix it by cleaning the brakes. That didn't work. I went to another mechanic on October 6th. They diagnosed that the rear-wheel bearing had been thrown off. Their guess is that since Discount Tire, which uses jacks on cars, probably dropped the car! This mechanic fixed the rear wheel bearing, but then they had to fix the brakes because of how they'd been mis-used. I emailed customer service at Discount Tire asking for reimbursement on October 25th. Just reimbursement. I probably should have asked for compensation for my time and frustration with this issue. They promptly responded, saying that someone from the Bend store would reach out. No one from the Bend store reached out. I followed up on November 8th. Customer service promptly responded, saying that someone at the district level would reach out. No one did. Then I got a message from their third-party claim management company Fleet Response. I sent them the documentation I had from the different mechanics I'd gone to, but Fleet Response never once spoke to me on the phone despite my several calls. They denied my claim, and blamed my car's age. I have a 20-year-old Toyota Corolla, which was fine before installation in terms of this issue. If you're a car-person, you know Corollas are awesome. Even if you aren't, you probably know that this car's durability is exceptional, unless you drop it. The third-party company did offer me $200, which is a slap in the face. I complained to Discount Tire's customer service, and then the third-party company finally called to offer $400 still clinging to this argument that my car was old and absolutely avoiding talking about the evidence I'd presented. I've been insulted by this Discount Tire and their claims management company, and I've had lots of time and money bled out of me. Now, let me be clear, I've been a customer for more than a decade. I believe I first went to the company when they were America's Tire (I'm fuzzy on if they've rebranded) on August 16, 2013 (yeah, I keep records). I had great service in Reno with Discount Tire in 2018. I've never complained about this or any company in this way. But this has been ridiculous. I can't say anything about the tires (there are different types and brands, etc.), but I can speak to the installation. That installation was bad and cost me a lot of time and money. Discount Tire needs to train their employees better. I can't say that you won't have a good installation, but then those good installers will probably be gone in 3 to 6 months. You are rolling the dice with this company. I will seek tires at another company in the future. If you feel the same or have had similar experiences, please write a review about no longer going to this company to help impress upon Discount Tire that quality customer service is critical as is hiring and training people to do a job right. read more

Where to start. By their own admission their equipment is poor and out of date. Bought new TPS for snow tires and they were unable to synchronize them with the car. This also happened to my friend. When you want an appointment it takes weeks to get one and they tell you to just show up and stand in line. Prices also seem to fluctuate depending on who you talk with. These guys saved us! We were leaving Sunriver to head home and had a long drive ahead of us. We saw we had a low tire pressure alert on the dash so we decided to drive up to Costco in Bend to get the tires filled. When we got to Costco the tire was hissing air - Costco couldn't repair it and unfortunately didn't have any new tires of the same size in stock. I just wanted to state what a great job the folks at Discount Tire have done. They always seem to be ready to help as well as do the right thing. I have taken my car to the shop in Sandy, UT, for years. When we were on a trip to the Oregon coast and had tire issues with wobbly tires in Bend, Oregon, we looked for a nearby Discount Tire. We were able to get to the store towards the end of the day on a Friday-probable the time when workers are looking towards the weekend. After they checked our tires, we found that not only were some of the nuts gone from the studs, but one of the studs to a tire was also gone. After attempts to stabilize the tires, another stud broke off, making the car unsafe to drive. Initially, we were told we would need to head to another store for replacing the studs. But when one employee, Warren, found out we needed to be in Eugene that night, he looked into being able to replace the studs himself. It seems that he had all the studs needed to maintain the safety of our driving. After about an hour wait, we were on our way with a smooth driving and safe care! Excellent quality, excellent customer care, excellent value! We especially really appreciate Warren's willingness to go the extra mile to help us stay safe. read more
