Wow...What a horribly frustrating experience I just had at this Discount Tire location. I came in last Saturday to have a slow leak fixed. I dropped off my car, and about 30 minutes later I got a text saying that my car was ready to go. Perfect! I show up at the store and tell them there to pick up my car. One of the Discount Tire associates hands me my keys and says "you're good to go". Again...Perfect! Halfway home (10 minutes after I left the store), just to make sure everything's OK, I looked at my tire pressure. To my shock, the tire that they had supposedly fixed had dropped by about 9 PSI. So, obviously, the problem had not been fixed. I set up another appointment for today so that they could tell me what had gone wrong. Again, I pulled up, gave the Discount Tire associate my story and my keys, and waited for them to call me. About 45 minutes later I get a call back saying that there were two puncture holes in the corner of my tire, likely from a staple. They said that it was not fixable, and that I'd have to get a new tire...but that he could get me hooked up with a new tire tomorrow. They also couldn't tell me what (if anything) was done to my tire when I brought it in on the previous Saturday. So...Did they just remove the staple and hope that it wouldn't leak air? Did they find the staple, but then fail to tell me that the tire was un-fixable, and that I needed to replace the tire? Who the hell knows. So, I agree to order a new tire, only the Discount Tire associate is having a hard time locating the tire in their database. So, after 15-20 minutes of waiting around, it goes from "we can get you a replacement tire tomorrow" to "I might be able to get you the same kind of tire that you have up front, which is different than the damaged one in the rear". I could tell that the guy that was helping me was relatively new, so it's really not his fault that he couldn't help me. But, given then fact that I had to come back in because of a mistake that they had made, someone more experienced should have stepped in much earlier. Anyway...That was really enough for me. Two strikes, and I've lost confidence in this Discount Tire location. I've already called the BMW dealership, and they have this tire in stock, and I'll be getting it replaced on Wednesday. read more

During this crazy ice storm that shut down Texas my low pressure light was lit. As soon as we got above freezing I called Discount Tires to see if they could check my pressures & fill my tires if needed. Martin who answered the phone promptly said, "Sure. Come on over & we will fix you up." They had signage up clearly directing me where to go. Covid precautions were being respected. We all were masked & everything took place outside. I had an appointment but I was in the area and showed up about an hour early. I do strongly recommend making an appointment however I noticed the wait time for everybody was running at least an hour and a half. If there was ever a time that it seemed to slow down, it was around 2 PM on a Monday. They did get a lot of calls asking about the current wait time so you might call to ask but it can change at any time. Understand that they're wanting to try to sell you an extended warranty there's tire disposal fees and other fees I noticed a lot of people did decline the warranty. They also offer a military discount. The 4 SUV Michelin tires with all those fees ended up costing about $916. there is free Wi-Fi, Men and women's restroom and a water fountain that allows you to refill your bottles. The sun was shining in the windows and they finally lowered the blinds from behind the counter. I never thought I would be giving a yelp review for a tire store, but this place deserves five stars. I was having trouble finding special order tires for my car so I called Discount Tire in Cedar Park over the weekend. I talked to Will and he said "no problem, I'll track them down and call you back when they come in". He did not ask for a deposit, did not ask for a credit card to hold the tires, nothing. Two days later, Will called back and said the tires were in, scheduled me for the same day, and I was in and out in 20 minutes!!!!! The service here is top notch. Long-time fan of Discount Tire. This is a company that hires and trains well, knowing customers compare notes on their experiences. Here's a recent one of mine: Picked up rental at nearby Hertz with the only SUV they had, and the low air indicator popped up before I left their lot. Figured I would resolve by swinging into gas station for air. But less than a mile later, indicator pops up again. Discount Tire nearby, and I drive in and ask them to check it. Attendant says he can see nail in tire. "It's a rental," I say. Not a problem. Discount Tire patches tires for free -- even those they didn't sell. Less than an hour later, on my way. This location really doesn't provide decent service. Each time my car is done I've had to call them to find out. This time I just dropped off my car for 3.5hrs and get the keys back. They had done absolutely nothing to it. They were replacing a rim that was damaged during a previous tire repair. It's gone from making things better to realizing these employees don't have any clue what's going on in the bays. There's little to no documentation about what you came in for. read more

I don't know how this place has more then 4 stars. My experience was absolutely terrible, the dude that helped me on the front desk looked like he took mad drugs "Crackhead" and every time he walked to look at my car he was tweaking hard and was really sketchy. I had to keep my eyes on him when he stepped in my car. This guy clearly saw all my tires and they weren't even close to Flat and the one that was flat he inspected it just by looking at it and said there's nothing wrong with it by stabbing it with a pen. I felt like kicking him in the jaw and trust me I'm not like this. I told this guy to check my tire because it was loosing pressure because something punctured it or something because I was going to drive to Colorado for a family trip I told him and he told me are you going for marijuana or "weed" I told him no. Then I stepped in the front desk again and he was making me buy all 4 tires I told him no and told him keep your shit too yourself and I was just here to check what's wrong with my tire and he told me he won't let the car in the service bay without new tires. I noticed a screw in my tire and took it over to "another" shop to have them take a look at it. The shop guy took a quick look at my tire and the screw and said there is nothing they could do, I would have to buy a new tire. Tires for my vehicle come in around 500 bucks each. I brought it over to Discount tires to get a second opinion and the guy helping me said Pirelli doesnt allow them to plug Z rated tires but does have a special warranty for Z rated tires, we can do the paper work and get you a new tire free or at least a very discounted replacement depending on how long you have owned it. He came out looked at the screw and said it didnt look like it penetrated much in to the tire, pulled the screw out and it was less than a 1/4 inch long and barely penetrated into the rubber. Turns out it wasn't a problem at all, no new tire needed and I didnt spend $500 bucks for something I didn't need. They were honest and were not out to "just make a buck" of me. I believe the $150 discount for online purchase, Sunday only, is a questionable scam to get you in the store. Long story, but my tires were not listed on the site and I bought them at Tire Rack for Discount mounting, since Discount bought Tire Rack. I called Discount Monday and explained the situation, and the guy said "no problem, we will honor the $150". When I went to get them mounted, Discount said I didn't get $150 off because I didn't buy them from Discount. When I explained my OEM tires were not even listed on their site, the Manager said basically "tough". I had to argue with him for 20 minutes and he finally agreed to not charge me for mounting. I had purchased tires from Discount Tire last year but with my car being a front wheel drive, those front tires lose tread faster obviously than the back ones. When I was there last year, I had issues with the air pressure afterwards. One tire was 10 pounds more than the other, one tires was way below. After two attempts to get them to get this rectified, I gave up. SO, noticed that the front two tires were getting a little worn and the tires were noisy...so I went in to have them check it out. Also, the display on my Lexus ES350, the air pressure information went completely blank so I asked them to check the sensors on my tires. All it was from the moment I got there was pushing me to buy new tires...4 new tires. I went ahead and did it but should have only had two new tires and moved back to front. But the gentlemen said really all four needed to be replaced and I'm not sure that was the truth. All sensors were working fine and salesman reset the display and sure enough, all four tires were registering on my car display. But after I collected the car from the work that was done, when I drove off, the display was no longer working. Came back to Discount Tire and stood there....stood there and the guy who sold me the tires saw me but never acknowledged I was there. Too busy selling tires on the phone while a customer was in front of him who he had already started talking to about his vehicle. That's right...instead of putting the caller on hold, he interrupted the gentleman who was there in front of him at the COUNTER asked HIM to hold on and then spent the next 16 minutes selling tires over the phone. FINALLY, another guy walked up to me asked me if he could help. I explained to him about the sensor issues and he checked them but now the back rear left sensor was no longer working he said. Told me that he could put another one on for about 60.00. I said, well they were all tested and working until you put new tires on them. He said, well, it must have just went out. I told him to forget it and walked out. The following day, my display came back on in my car and ALL sensors were working but the air in each tire was way off. So today, I drove in to have them check the air pressure and the guy tells me, that my tires are way over filled with air. He corrected it. I told him that "your team" was the one who put the air in them in the first place. He just shrugged and sort of dissed me. So....it's not about good customer service really it's about the sale and that's all it is. And the gentlemen who were these badges that say "assistant manager"....they are really just sales people with a title assistant manager on their little shirts and really have yet to master good customer service or management skills. Little boys/men who have the communication and empathy skills of a housefly. They should have never had me leave in the first place until I was happy. Service personnel who just pull off the old and slap on the new as fast as they can. The more they do the more money they make. Too bad. Nope, not going back ever. There are too many other companies that I would rather hand over my money to than these folks. read more

I have had nothing but the best service and honesty for at least a decade from Discount Tire. Unfortunately, today, I came in to have my tires rotated and the representative that I spoke to basically refused to provide that service. The rep had me take him to my car so he could look at my tires. He took some sort of scans of the tires and then we went back into the lobby. I was then immediately taken to a chart and told that my tires were in the "yellow zone" and that they needed to be replaced. I kept thinking that that was odd. I had just purchased my car a little over a year ago and the tires were new at that time. Due to covid 19, in the year that I have had the vehicle, I have only had to commute to work for about 9 months. And my commute is under 15 minutes. I am not in the habit of taking my car on long distance road trips either. At home, I walked around my car looking at the tires and the tread and thought it looked fine. But just in case I was incorrect, I did a penny test and Abe's hair was hidden. I even had another person look at my tires and they came to the same conclusion. My tires are just fine. I called the closest Discount Tire (1431/Parmer) immediately after hearing a thudding noise coming from one of my tires as I drove. It was 4 min til close. I arrived about 8 minutes after close. Turns out there was a huge nail in my tire. Nicholas Alderman showed great compassion as I was already on the verge of tears (you know, the straw that broke the camels back moments). They were able to repair the tire with a plug and have me driving off by 6:21pm. My tire was under warranty so there was no charge! Great customer service! read more

Discount Tire in Cedar Park, Texas sold me a new wheel, but as I got a flat driving to Dallas from Portland, Texas at 11:00 pm, the Roadside Assistance attendant informed me that they never gave me the key to get the new wheel off! So, here I sit, towed to Discount tire parking lot at 2:00 in the morning in Temple , Texas. I have to sleep in my car and wait until this DT opens at 0800, so the tire can be changed and needed lug thingy can be obtained. WARNING!! Dont trust them to care about the details.
