Packed!

I've been coming here the last few times to get my oil changed, and I've got to say I've been really happy with the service. A friend recommended this place to me, and it's been a great experience every time. They always seem to be very busy (a good sign), but they get people in and out in a decent amount of time. When I get my oil change done, it usually doesn't take more than 15 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the fact that I get to stay in my car, and the techs that work on my car don't try to upsell me on things I don't really need.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pricing is reasonable and right in line with what an oil change costs around here, and they give you a voucher to get a car was next door with your service. Will definitely be coming back here! Give them a try!

Absolutely horrible experience. MY CAR'S ENGINE IS RUINED. I'm currently taking LEGAL action against Express Oil Change because they completely destroyed my engine with what should have been a basic oil change. And no, this isn't some dramatic exaggeration--this is real. I took my 2022 Honda Civic in on April 14th for a standard oil change. The guy seemed nice, nothing felt off at first. But the whole service felt way too fast--like in-and-out, blink-and-you-miss-it fast. I started to notice small things, like how no one gave a verbal confirmation that the work was done properly, which every other shop I've been to has always done. It just felt rushed and careless. A few days later, my car started making terrible sounds from the engine, not from the wheels, not the brakes--like deep, internal noises that made my stomach drop. I stopped driving it immediately and waited until I absolutely had to take it out again for work. I commute over an hour from Leander to Austin every day, so my car isn't just transportation--it's my lifeline. Then it got worse. A week after the oil change, I go to start my car and hear a violent clanking sound before it stalls. I smell burning oil. I flip on the garage light and there's a giant puddle of oil stretching from under my car out into the driveway and into the street. Full panic. I had to miss work and immediately call Leander Honda. I didn't even bother calling Express Oil--I didn't trust them to give me the truth or handle anything properly. Honda told me not to even try restarting it--it had to be towed. After hours of waiting, it was finally hauled to the dealership, where it sat all day for inspection. When the mechanics called me back, they were shocked. They even sent me a full video walkthrough showing that the drain plug on my oil pan had basically been left loose. It was barely hanging on--one turn away from falling out completely. Let me put this into perspective: I was commuting on highways going 70+ mph every day after this botched oil change. If that plug had fallen out mid-drive, all of the oil would've spilled onto the road. That's not just dangerous for me--that's dangerous for everyone else on the road. We're talking potential accidents, engine fires, total engine seizure--an absolute disaster waiting to happen. The bottom of my car was caked in burned, leaking oil. Honda had to replace several rubber components immediately for safety, because oil eats away at rubber and causes long-term damage. Even after all of that, my car still doesn't drive the same. It makes weird noises, and the performance is off. They told me my engine is likely compromised. And how did Express Oil Change respond? I left voicemails, finally got a call from an assistant manager who--get this--offered me four free oil changes as some kind of peace offering. Are you kidding me?! I now have hundreds of dollars in damage and towing fees on my credit cards. Not only did they refuse to reimburse me, but they never even refunded the cost of the oil change that ruined my engine and is now soaked into my driveway. I rent my home and the landlord is now forcing me to hire professional cleaners to fix the horrific stains in the driveway, as he should! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The assistant manager told me that because I took my car to Honda (instead of towing it back to them), they're not responsible anymore. Then he basically said corporate wouldn't help either and ghosted me. I was told the general manager, John, would reach out--never happened. The franchise owner, Neil, and John have ignored all of my emails and calls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I even told them I was holding off on posting reviews in good faith, hoping they'd own their mistake. Nope. Radio silence. So here we are. I'm pursuing legal action now. They've left me no choice. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from Express Oil Change as possible. This isn't just bad service--it's dangerous negligence.

Here is the proof of last year's inspection on my fleet vehicle that they supposedly do not take for 8 years

Have gone here for my last 3 oil changes. Usually short wait or no wait, reasonably fast yet thorough service and don't do any hard upsell.

Ask the Community - Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers

How much does it cost for an oil change?

It really depends on the type of oil you want. I use strictly mobil one full synthetic and it's around $80 for a full service oil change.

My 2012 Toyota Tundra (AKA "The Beast), needed some service done. Now I normally take care of all…read moremy maintenance such as brakes, tune up's etc. I have a trust issues with other mechanics and dealerships. But this was fluid service, (the nasty stuff) trans fluid flush and fill, brake fluid flush, rear differential drain and fill, + my AC wasn't cooling as well. I did my homework and gathered about 5 estimates for this service from local shops and Toyota dealerships. Prices were coming in anywhere from $1000 - $1500. I stopped in at Christian Brothers in Leander on Sonny Drive and spoke to Brandon. He text me a written quote, which came out about half of what the other shops were asking. They also give a "Veterans/First responders" discount. Their work was professional, and they communicated with me all the time. They sent a video of a free service inspection of my truck, pointing out any areas of concern. I think I've found my back up mechanic for anything I can't do or just don't want to. Thanks Brandon and the team at Christian Brothers in Leander. My truck drives straight and the AC works like new. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

UPDATE to owners response (Check Photos):…read more I strongly dispute the claim that my vehicle had "years of neglect." I have documentation showing I received consistent oil changes and maintained the vehicle. If Christian Brothers is going to make that public statement, I am requesting that you provide the specific records, dates, inspection findings, and supporting documentation you are relying on to claim neglect. My concern remains the same: I paid for major repairs, the vehicle failed shortly after, and my concerns were not meaningfully investigated. I am not asking for assumptions -- I am asking for documentation, accountability, and a fair resolution. The central issue is the timing. I drove my vehicle without engine failure for months before bringing it to your shop. After relying on your diagnostics and authorizing nearly $4,000 in repairs, I picked the vehicle up and the engine failed within a day. Given that timeline, attributing the failure to "years of neglect" without supporting documentation is an overreaching conclusion that appears designed to shift blame rather than address my concerns. I repeatedly informed the shop that I was preparing for a long trip and wanted everything thoroughly checked before approving repairs. I was told further diagnosis could not be completed until the turbo work was done. After the repairs, I was told the vehicle was good to go, which led me to believe all necessary inspections had been completed. The engine failed within a day of pickup, which is why I continue to question whether everything was properly diagnosed before the vehicle was returned to me. _____________________ My experience with Christian Brothers Automotive Leander has been extremely frustrating. I brought my Hyundai Tucson in for major repairs totaling nearly $4,000. Before authorizing the work, I specifically asked that the vehicle be thoroughly diagnosed and that any known issues or potential issues be identified so I could make informed decisions. Shortly after the repairs were completed, the vehicle developed severe engine knocking and became inoperable. The timing alone was alarming. I expected the shop to take my concerns seriously and work collaboratively toward answers. Instead, I was largely left to manage the situation myself while dealing with towing expenses, rental costs, missed work concerns, and the stress of being stranded with my child. The biggest issue for me has been customer service after the failure occurred. Communication became difficult, and I felt that my concerns were dismissed rather than investigated
