Discount Tire in Cedar Park, Texas sold me a new wheel, but as I got a flat driving to Dallas from Portland, Texas at 11:00 pm, the Roadside Assistance attendant informed me that they never gave me the key to get the new wheel off! So, here I sit, towed to Discount tire parking lot at 2:00 in the morning in Temple , Texas. I have to sleep in my car and wait until this DT opens at 0800, so the tire can be changed and needed lug thingy can be obtained. WARNING!! Dont trust them to care about the details. I made an appointment online before going in for a tire repair. When I arrived, they had a check-in point so that you can provide or confirm your information before even going into the office, for COVID-19 safety. The attendant was pretty nice. They inspected my tire rather quickly and fixed the leak. I asked them how much I owed them and they answered they do tire repairs for free. Amazing! It is hard to find honest tire and vehicle repair places but this one Discount Tire in Cedar Park, TX gets top notch for customer service and honesty. Not only did he get me a great deal for 4 new tires, his communication was top notch. He called me when he said he would call me. I gave him the go-ahead at 3:30-ish on Thursday 12/26 and he called me by 9:15am next day to say my new tires were in. I can't say enough amazing things about Discount Tire. I've been loyal to the Discount Tire in Round Rock, TX for 8 years but a recent move had me visiting this location. I barely walked through the door and Aaron greeted me with a smile; EXCELLENT customer service, friendly and prompt. All the while, I'm watching as his colleagues are answering phones, dealing with customers, and all with a smile. Anyone who's worked in an industry where dealing with people is required will understand how difficult this can be. I visit Discount Tire. They tell me two tires are in good shape and the other two need to be replaced. I get the two replaced and then get an alignment at Austin Automotive, where they tell me there's a bad bald spot on one of the other two. I go back to Discount Tire to get two additional tires and ask, since they missed the bald spot upon inspection, could I get the 4-tire discount that they would have offered me had I gotten all of them at once. The manager mutters something about it being the end of the month and that he can't do it. They lost a loyal customer today. read more

I ordered the cheapest tires I could find online to be delivered to this store. My car is old and I don't want to put any more $ into it unless absolutely necessary. I got a call about 15 minutes later from the store letting me know it could take up to 5 days to get the tires, and would I be interested in what they had in stock. After letting him know I was just being cheap, he let me know they had a set in stock that was actually $15 cheaper and they could get me in tomorrow (which is today). Once I got there, my total came out $15 less than what I was quoted on the phone (even better!). While I was waiting (it took 35 min in and out the door), a woman in crutches came up to the door and one of the employees ran from behind the counter to get the door for her before I could even stand up to grab it for her myself (and I was less than 10 feet from the door). Just shows they have good people there. Every single person I encountered, from the gentleman who called me on the phone, to the guy who rang me up, to the fella who brought my car around and gave me back my keys was incredibly friendly. Never once was I pressured with an upsell or services/upgrades I neither wanted or needed. In a word, this place was flawless. read more

My tires were so bad they said they just wanted me to be safe and put a set of new tires on my car and told me to just come back and pay for them as I can. After not wanting to mount the tires on my car because of the spacers and having wheels that were not balanced correctly I find out one of the tires is mounted reversed. I had to take my car to a different place (Firestone) in this instance to get the wheels removed from the car and balanced properly. Then they let me know that one of the tires which are directional is mounted backwards and they have to fix that also. This is just amazing that I have to pay another business to correct the mistakes made by discount tire. I think this one will stick with me for a while. read more

I took my truck in to get tires balanced and rotated. Within minutes, Asst Mgr George calls and tries to sell me 2 tires. He claims that they're past their usable life. Doesn't mention any measurements as a good tire pro should (in 32nds). Doesn't mention that the tires were manufactured in 2019 based on the date code stamped on the tire (which also would have helped his case). I push back and then he agrees to rotate them if that's what i want which begs the question, did i really need new tires or was he trying his best to ring up more sales and units so they can hit their sales projection and targets? If he's the tire pro, it really shouldn't matter what the customer states if you have the customer's best interest at heart and there is a safety issue with the tires. I told him i thought what he was doing was deceptive and he would now lose the future business of a set of 4 tires because of it. I asked him not to do anything to the truck. My only regret is that i have to continue to visit this "professional" tire shop as i have recently replaced a set of tires on my son's car at this location. I am not sour on Discount as whole. I have bought many sets from them since i was 18....I just don't trust this location. Bad thing Store Manager, Justin, is out until next Wednesday as now he has to read about it like everyone else. After comparing Costco and Discount Tire prices and packages, and after an amazing 30 min phone call with Mark at DT, I decided to get new tires here. It really was no contest after the phone call. Not only did he beat Costco's price significantly (they will beat anyone's price), but Mark spent a long time talking me through what tires I actually NEEDED vs whatever was on special. Turns out the ones I'm getting have longer road life AND are about $100 cheaper overall. If you're thinking about another tire shop, give Discount a chance to earn your business! You don't EVER want to have a flat tire at 5:30 a.m.....in the drizzle....on April Fools Day (your hubby and your boss may not believe you). And especially not after you've just missed a Yelp sponsored event....at a garage....where they taught you how to change your tire.....and gave you beer and pizza. *facepalm* You don't EVER want to have to drive sloooooow on a spare for 20 miles....with your top down.....and your fun music playing. My V_lv_ don't like slow. I felt like a hip grandma in the slow lane (yes in the slow lane) and wanted to hold a sign up pointing to my spare in embarrassment as the real grandmas passed me. You don't EVER want to spend a gorgeous Austin spring afternoon at a tire shop and smell tire rubber instead of wildflowers but at least I'm NOT allergic to tire rubber, so no sneezing. You don't EVER want to pay what I paid for tires. Not that they were overly expensive but I woulda much rather have used that money for a trip to Cancun or a new 80 inch 3D TV or a coupla ten cases of wine. BUT, if you do EVER find yourself in this situation, this is the place you wanna be. Hubby made me an appt for 3:30, I limped in at 3:25 and a friendly guy MET ME IN THE PARKING LOT, like the rock star that I am.....with a flat tire. Anyway, they promptly and friendily got my V_lv_ patched up and got me on my way in 30 minutes. Glad to have these guys around...even gladder to get that road hazard warranty (with 24 hr flat assistance!) as this flat was caused by a nail at the construction area where I will soon be spending a lot of my time. I went here to get a slow-leaking tire patched up. They were very honest in how long it would take...which I was happy about. Nothing worse than a place fudging on the time, and then you're left waiting around for nothing. I happened to be running errands with my parents anyway, so no biggie on the wait. Thoroughly impressed by the crew at this Discount Tire location. My rear Dunlops were noisy and had less traction in the wet than I would've liked. A nail in one of them was the universes' way of telling me it was time for some new rubber. A buddy and I went in together, figuring that ordering in bulk would net us a bit of a discount. We ordered almost a dozen tires, and ended up with very reasonable rates on most of them. Now those Dunlops that I had still had almost half the tread left, so I figured I'd recoup a little bit of money by throwing them on craigslist. I mentioned this to my Discount Tire guy (sorry, forgot your name!) and he assured me that they would carefully dismount them. Getting the new tires on was exceptionally quick, I'd estimate it took well under 30 minutes, but of course, it came with bad news. They had gashed the sidewalls of my old tires while dismounting them. I was already late for dinner with my wife, and technically DT was closed, so I just went on my way, planning on calling their corporate number and bitching. A buddy convinced me to contact the manager and try resolving it locally first. He made me whole with a minimum of fuss. Ugh-- Drive in Discount Tires at 805am & Alex had me pull right up, Tara checked my tires- Immediately found super low tire and spotted a nail. Luckily it was in the tire that had already been patched. I debated on staying bc I have an 845 appt but he said we will have u done in20 min- they pulled off the tire to find 2 MORE nails! Jim was so helpful and friendly and worked with me to keep everything within my budget. This place has the best customer service! I'll be back for sure! They were a little busy for a Monday morning but they were working hard to get the cars in and out with such a positive attitude and hard work. Got everything done in under an hour. Not learning my lesson, I bought a set of tires off them, only to have gone through 6 rebalance attempts, and they are still out of balance. Went in to get new tires and wheels put on this week and it was such a nice experience that while I was there I started to think about the company more and realized that I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at Discount Tire. When I walked into this location I immediately noticed two things: (1) the clean, spacious, and bright waiting area, and (2) how attentive and cheerful all the employees were. Their walls proudly proclaim the awards they've won for being a great place to work, and it shows. All the workers smiled, spoke confidently, walked with a little extra something in their step, and were a great balance of friendly and professional. I was actually a little shocked in the best way as it's always great to see people enjoying their workplace, but doesn't happen as often as I think we'd all like. The uplifting energy there certainly wore off on me and I found myself being happy to be at a car maintenance shop of all places. When my car was done they drove it right up to me (even my Fiat dealership doesn't do that) and it felt a bit special. Saturday, September 1: Saw that DT was offering a $100 Visa card cash back deal for the purchase of any 4 tires and having put it off for too long, decided now was a good time to buy. Researched all the tires that fit my SUV (Explorer) on their online site and settled on four of the Hankook Optimo 724's. The website was superlative in that all you do is add your tire choice to the cart, and the 'drive out price' is automatically calculated for you - nothing hidden. I printed out the 'cart' page and headed over to the Cedar Park store. I was immediately greeted by Trevor. I told him I needed four tires and knew what I wanted, showing him the print out. I asked his opinion of the Hankooks vs the Prodigy H/T, and he gave his thumbs up to me getting the Hankooks pointing out the attributes of the Hankooks vis a vie the Prodigy tire, including tread and 'rain' handling ability. He was very knowledgeable and I trusted him. Seeing how there were a lot of people there, I asked that since it was fairly crowded and he probably wouldn't be able to get to me for awhile if I could pay for the tires and come back on Tuesday morning to have them installed, figuring I could get in and out at that time, no problem. He said sure, but that if I had an hour, he'd have me taken care of today. I was shocked and and said yes, that would be fine, and said I'd walk over to the Whataburger while it was being taken care of. Trevor said fine and he would call once it was ready. I left at 2:50. At exactly 3:30, he called and said I was good to go - Wow! I thanked him and walked back to the store. Trevor saw me walk in, came over and said let me grab your paperwork and keys and I'll be right back. He then went over the rebate form with me and then thanked me once again for choosing DT. I thanked him for everything and told him that the plethora of positive Yelp reviews had brought me in to the store and were spot on. (That I'm taking the time to write a review speaks volumes for Trevor and the service he and his co-workers provided - so very rare anymore!) They plugged my tire for free. So ... I had Christian Bros. take my tire over here to pull a giant bolt out of my tread and plug the hole. It was fairly straight forward and apparently was cheaper than expected. And they DID FIX my tire. A week later I brought it back because I THOUGHT that plug was leaking. I wasn't angry or confrontational, but I told them (erroneously) that their original plug was leaking. (There was also some confusion about my paperwork being misplaced and I forgot to drop off my key.) When I picked up my truck later that day, they informed me that they had found ANOTHER foreign object (a nail) embedded in my tire and that's what was leaking. They fixed if for me and didn't accept any payment; I tried to insist, but they refused. After a protracted discussion of payment for services rendered lasting approximately 2.3 seconds, I decided to plead my case on Yelp.com. I thanked them and went on my way. So, THANK YOU Discount Tire. Y'all are great. read more

Bought new tires and wheels at Discount Tire in Marble Falls. Went to Firestone in Cedar Park to get an alignment (and some other maintenance) since Discount Tire doesn't do alignments. When Firestone went to take my tires off, they couldn't find the key to get my locking lug nuts off. I called the Marble Falls location and asked them where they put the lug nut key. They said either the cup holder or the center console. It was NOT in my truck. I asked them if they could call the Cedar Park store and see if they could deliver a lug key to Firestone. He said it was "out of his jurisdiction." He said to call Hector at the Cedar Park store and he would give me one for free. My truck was up on the rack having other services performed, so I couldn't go myself. Firestone was super busy and short staffed and didn't have anyone available to pick it up. I called the Cedar Park Discount Tire and asked to speak to Hector. I was told he was at lunch. The man I spoke to (I'm sorry I forgot your name) said he would call Hector and advise him of the situation. He called me back a few minutes later and said Hector would be bringing the lug key over. I can't thank these guys enough! They went above and beyond to make a satisfied customer. Cedar Park, you are lucky to have these guys. I can't say the same for the Marble Falls location. read more
