I recommend Discount Tire (even though I had a mixed experience that wasn't their fault) and I would go back for any tire service that my car needs at this location. Pro: -Austin had great customer service and took care of me both times that I interact with him. -The tires that I purchased on the website and had shipped to the store arrived on time and got installed. -They come out to your car to scan the tires/rims and check it over. -They did a great job installing them without damaging my brand new rims and they have good prices that are competitive with Sams and Costco. -What won me over was that they were able to get my tires a week earlier than Costco at roughly the same price. -Both times that I came in as a walk-in Customer, they were able to get me taken care of the same day Con: -The line to do anything is long. Once you accept this, going there is a lot better. -There is a little bit of salesmanship happening but it is minimal and not pushy in my opinion so not a big deal -The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor system on my car was damaged, and none of the repairs they attempted could get one of the wheels to read. This was not something they could fix, and I'll have to have the dealership work on it, which is annoying. read more

I had 1 of my new tires get a flat. I removed the tire and installed my spare, then went to the store at 8 am in the morning. I was the 4th person in line when the door opened. Once I was checked in, I was told it would take about an hour to an hour and a half for them to patch the tire. After sitting there 2 hours (I went up and asked about my tire. I was then informed that the cut in the tire was too large for a patch, and I needed a new tire. It's sad that they made me wait all that time to tell me it couldn't be fixed (none of us have lives or places to be). Once I was informed the tire had to be replaced the service tech looked me in the eye and said has a tire been ordered? I replied no you just told me it couldn't be fixed. They did order a new tire, and it was covered under the certificate, but that is not where the story ends. After waiting until 3:30pm on Saturday, I went to pick up my tire and was asked if I could point out the rim for my car. They had no clue which rim was mine and had not mounted the tire. Of course, once I pointed the rim out, they came back to me to ask if that tire had a pressure sensor on it and I replied yes. They had removed and valve stem and thrown the sensor away. They said they would take care of the sensor, and they claimed they reprogrammed the new sensor to my car, but it was not detecting any pressure. The tech told me I had to drive my car for a while before it could register the air pressure (never heard of that before). After 2 days I took it to the Lincoln dealership, and they had to replace the sensor. Everything works fine now. Discount Tire was cheaper than others but I'm not sure if they are worth it. I came in at 1:45 and was told that the car would be done at 4:45. I stayed in the front for 2 hours ( minus a few minutes to use the bathroom). I sat back down in the lobby to wait. At no point, unless it happened when I was in the bathroom, did my name get called. At about 4:30'ish I went outside because I was cold and needed to unthaw. At 5:10'is I went back in and asked if the two vehicles in front were going to be in before mine and I was told he didn't know. I asked for my keys so I could come back tomorrow and I was told that my car was done. No one that I saw knew what time the car was done. I waited for 3.5 hours for no reason. Communication needs to be better. AND then Austen was telling everyone in the bay not to talk to me. They were laughing. Very unprofessional!!! read more

Good morning I definitely like coming to discount tire because when they finally get to you, I think the service is not too bad but if I can recommend something that will probably make a lot of of the people that go in there feel a little more comfortable is if you had a clipboard That people could literally just walk in and write down their names and on one side it says appointment or walk in very simple then you would control the line because now you don't have people standing around being impatient another thing is I know you guys can afford it, but you need somebody to pick up the phone or an automated system that is able to pick up the phone and at least have different directions where they can leave a message because I was standing there listening to people call and it was ridiculous. I understand that you're busy but having one person addressed that problem will make it that much better but I highly recommend a clipboard ASAP. read more

We dropped off my Toyota rav4 this morning to have a nail removed from a rear tire I purchased at this location in August. Austin inspected my tires, verified the tire sensor light was on, and mentioned my front tires might still be under warranty. My front tires were nearing their end of life so they offered a mileage discount since the front tires failed to reach their mileage under warranty. I contracted to replace my front tires (along with the nail repair to the rear tire), and was told my car would be ready in a couple of hours. Approx. 2 hours later I received a call from Ty, informing me that my front stems were bad, and had to be replaced (approximately $65 per stem). this cost was not discussed nor disclosed at contracting even though the pressure light was on and I told Austin it had been on for some time. I am a repeat customer at this location, but feel like the additional cost should have been disclosed prior to contracting with me, given the information provided to the agents of the business. read more

I called ahead of time to see if they had my size tires for my Jeep Wrangler. Scheduled an appointment time so I would not have to wait long. Four hours later... They put the wrong size tires on then said it would be just fine with the noise and grind. I told them I did not feel comfortable with the tire grinding against the bar (the picture shows where it would grind). Had a great experience with Discount Tire! I walked in without an appointment with a screw in one of my tires. They were extremely busy and unable to get to me immediately. However, multiple front end staff greeted me and apologized for the wait. The gentleman who walked outside to observe the screw was extremely nice and efficient. He gave me multiple options for a new tire since the screw was on the curve of the tire. The price was what I expected. I paid and he told me about an hour and a half. They have Wi-Fi so I used it to do some work while I waited. Even though they were extremely busy, they attended to the customers quickly and the waiting area was comfortable and not overly crowded. They were finished with my car in 45 minutes. Great experience from beginning to end. After my experience with tire choice my experience here was a breath of fresh air. Upon entering I was greeted by David who promptly obtained my info and went outside to look at my tire. Upon learning that they couldn't fix my tire because the sidewall was damaged, I purchased 4 tires. My tires were due to be replaced anyways so I was kind of expecting that I would have to buy some tires. Now I can take advantage of the free rotations and balancing for the life of the tires. I was followed up on the progress of my car frequently. What I also found positive is that they definitely followed COVID protocols with mask wearing and social distancing. Cause my tire pressure light came on in the morning. I drove straight to the gas station to put air in my front tire since the computer stated my tire was extremely low. But the light would not come off the screen. I wanted to scream! Lol! I was like OMG!!! So I drove to work. And searched online to see if there were any tire shops in the area that I could go too. He told me to pull up on the side of the building so he could check my tire pressure. He check all the tires. Then he finally FOUND the damaged tire! I was wiping the sweat off of my forehead. It was actually the back passenger tire and not the front passenger tire that my computer system kept claiming it was. He told me that they can check it out for me and etc. I went back inside to get check in for them to fix my tire. Joseph set up my appointment. They said everything would be done around 3:30pm. There's a Hardee's, and a 7 eleven close by if you need to get something to eat or want coffee, snacks, and etc. Starbucks, five guys, golden coral, and etc are probably about half a mile away basically within walking distance if your semi -athletic. So even if you have to wait a long wait. You can occupy your time. Leeeeeeet me tell you when Joseph told me the cost of everything was 0.00. I was like WHATTTT?! Are you joking?! Nope! Discount Tire made its appearance on the north side of Battlefield Boulevard a few months ago and I remember thinking quite dismissively, "Great, just what we need, another tire place." I have always used a competitor for all my tire needs, mainly out of convenience since it was near my house. But when my wife informed me that one of our four well-aged tires was flat, I had an idea: I wonder if anyone on Yelp posted a review on that "new tire place" on Battlefield? At the time I couldn't remember the name of it, so I opened my Yelp app, typed "tires" in the search engine and 'voila!' Discount Tire was #1 on the list along with two positive reviews. What did I have to lose? I needed tires ASAP. As I passed my 'ol faithful tire place I grudgingly released the memories of convenience and familiar faces. With over 10 years of loyal support now flushed, it was slowly replaced with the hope of what might be. I arrived to a well-marked parking lot with signs and arrows pointing to "free tire check/air pressure" (yeah, you can just pull up and they'll check it for you). I later learned that you can make an appointment if you're the scheduling type, but simply driving up and walking in will get you the same courteous service, just be prepared to wait your turn if you choose the latter option and desire more than a pressure check. I walked in the door at noon on a Friday. Their three dual-car bays were full with the end bay being dedicated to the free tire checks. I had two people ahead of me, but I wasn't in the door 10 seconds before Asst. Manager Chase (more on him later) looked at me and the gentleman in front of me, smiled, and said, "Thanks for coming to see us. I apologize for the wait. I'll be with you all in a moment." Say what? I've been here 10 seconds and you're apologizing?! Maybe for 10 minutes, but seconds? Okay. Maybe it's just over-exuberance. Uh, nope. There's more. When it was my turn at the counter, I explained my need for new tires and Chase promptly spun his computer screen around, asked me about my vehicle, the things I valued most about a tire (e.g., stopping distance, road noise, snow performance, etc.). After plugging in my prioritized desires, his computer recommended a ranked list of tires that fit my needs. Okay, Chase, I see you and your computer magic. After selecting "my" tire, I explained to Chase about my long-term loyalty to his competitor down the road and that he and Discount Tire are getting one chance to earn my business and that so far things are looking good. So, let's cut to the chase, Chase...any deals going on? I learned that there are ALWAYS deals going on, and in his role as Assistant Manager, Chase ensured the competitive spirit remained alive and well. He struck me as a highly likable young man who knew his job well. I learned that 20yo Chase and his bride moved from the Discount Tire location in Colorado to this one at the request of the owner (Discount Tire is not a chain; it is independently owned and operated--similar business model as Chick-fil-A). The fact that the owner recognized his potential and asked this young man to move thousands of miles away to help run his store in Hampton Roads tells me something. I certainly noticed Chase's "next level" demeanor during my short time with him. And as I sat in the waiting area for an hour watching and listening to him interact with other customers, it's clear he's the real deal. In fact, I witnessed two other employees interacting with customers face-to-face and over the phone and realized it's not just a Chase thing, it's a culture thing. And THAT, my friends, is the secret sauce. The culture at Discount Tire is top-notch. It permeates everything. Quality work, quality service, fair prices. Well done to the staff and leadership team.
