Every time I go here they overload the tires with air. the tire secs for my 2002 saturn sc2 are 26 psi in rare & 30 psi in front. Used to go here all the time to get my tires and rims. But they took the cake last time I went and it'll be the last for sure. I cracked a rim on my 2015 Chevy Malibu so I went here and I ended up ordering one. Not even a year had past when it started chipping. Still under the year warranty I went to show it to them and get it replaced since I had the 1yr warranty still. Well the manager (forgot his name) came out and checked it out. He proceeded to tell me that the rim wasn't the one they replaced. Mind you, all the other rims are beat up except this one. I told him that all the other rims look old except the one that the paint was chipping. He sat there and argued with me that the rim wasn't the one. Mind you my rim warranty was going to expire in like 2 weeks. He finally was like okay we'll replace it but that will be the first and last time I'll replace it. He said they would order my rim and they'll call me when it's here. Few weeks past by and they call me that my rim was there. I booked an appointment and went to get it done, I get there, wait like 30min. and they tell me they ordered the wrong size. SMH. They say they are going to reorder it again, 2 weeks later they said to come back cause they received it 1 week ago. I book another appointment, go there after work and have me sitting there for another 30min. To AGAIN tell me that they don't have my rim. SMH. At this point I am beyond annoyed and mad. They tell me that they have no idea what's going on. Again, they will reorder it. I have a trip coming up so I tell them I'll be gone for a month. A month goes by and I call them up to see if my rim has came in yet, they tell me that they have no clue what am I talking about. They have no records of any rim for me at all. So needless to say, I believe the manager did all this on purpose. Had me running back and forth because he was mad they had to replace it and at the end, deleted all my information. So at the end, I didn't get a replacement rim and never heard from them again. Sad sad sad. I wish I had remembered the managers name I dealt with. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO HERE. read more

I purchased a set of locking lug nuts from the location previously, and they installed them for free. Today I brought my car in due to a blow out. The price of the replacement tire was excellent. I purchased a 60k mile tire with warranty and installation it was $220.00. The Honda dealership quoted me $150.00 for a tire with less miles guaranteed, and no warranty all the way around. Now what was pleasantly surprising was that the warranty purchased through discount tires will cover ALL of my tires. Not just the one I replaced. The cost of the warranty depends on the cost of what a replacement tire would run. Bottom line is that if I have ONE tire go bad at any point it will pay for itself. Now let me say that I am sure there are requirements for the purchase of the warranty. I'm sure that they probably have to have a certain life left on the tread in order to warrant them. If you can get that coverage do it! I have a 2016 Honda Fit so the tires have quite a bit of life left. It is nice that this is one expense I won't have to worry about for a long time! The folks at Discount Tire are fantastic! A little over a year ago, we purchased four new tires for my wife's car. Just recently, my wife noticed that one of the tires seemed to be slowly losing air. Brought the car in, late on a Thursday evening. Was thinking I would have to pay to have it repaired or replaced. The service tech took the tire off, fully inspected it and discovered there was a small crack on the valve stem. The guy called me outside, told me the problem was fixed and I was good to go. No charge. I was thoroughly impressed with their customer service. Was in and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend Discount Tire Joliet. Worst service I have had in a long time. Started out ordering tires which they said would take 2 -3 days. Had to keep calling myself to see if the tires were in. Everyday they told me they would be in tomorrow until one associate checked the back and seen that no one checked them in. Then after waiting a week for tires I paid in full, they start working on the car and they are beating on a tire and they end up pulling a stud out of the assembly. Then they suggest I drive with completely different tires and get it fixed. This has to be a joke. read more

SEE UPDATE BELOW. Frustrated to be giving a mediocre review for a place I've patronized since it opened. Called on Tuesday for a Saturday appointment. Told "plenty of options in stock" for my older model but well-maintained car used for daily commuting. Planned my errands for the day around appointment. Went online; Discount Tire site went down for maintenance in the middle of looking at available tires. Ok, things happen. Strike 1. Arrived 20 minutes early for appointment, prepared as possible with a budget in mind. Only 2 options when going thru available options but only one tire option in stock in my budget. Strike 2. Agreed to more expensive tires...find out only 2 available at this location and would need to come back next week for other 2 tires. Strike 3, but am a patient guy. AFTER SITTING FOR 50 MINUTES, my salesman tells me a problem with inventory and they can only find 1 tire! "Very sorry...we can put that in and you can come back next week for other 3." NOT HAPPY...strike 4. I say make me happy: they can give me a better tire but not adjust price for my inconvenience and 90+ minute wait while walk-ins got their tires ahead of me. Don't really want a top of the line tire for this car and reduced wear mileage. I've brought many family members' cars and my own since this location opened. This is the WORST experience ever with Discount Tire and will think seriously about coming back here again or referring anyone else. I feel as though this was a "bait and switch" at worst or poor management at best with no respect for my stated budget. Am very sorry that this was my experience. UPDATE: I decided not to leave without speaking to the manager, Paul. I discovered he understands customer relations. I wasn't asking for anything, just wanted him to be aware of my experience in his store. He gained me back as a loyal customer; he is a decent man and is the kind of manager everyone should hope to work for/with. Originally I went in to have both of my front tires checked as they were both losing air constantly. When he gave me my car back he only mentioned they worked on the front driver side tire (stated they found a small nail) .That was red flag number one. As he didn't mention the second tire at all I specifically asked if they had checked out the passenger front tire. He kind of fumbled his words and said "oh yeah that valve stem was losing some air" . I asked if he fixed it and he unconfidently stated they did. Red flag number two. When I drove off once my tpms kicked in and showed front passenger tire showed the same psi came in with which was very low for where it should be (it was at29psi when it should've been at 35)but I gave the benefit of the doubt. Today three days later my tire once again is losing air and it has become very apparent that I was completely mislead by the tech. Of course when I go today just to get air as I don't have time for a full appointment, the line is around the building and now I'm stuck having to find a place to put air on my own, as well as having to make another appointment when this all could've been taken care of if they just would've checked what I asked (and was told would be done and was done) for when I came in. These guys deserve 5 stars all day long. They really know how to make customers feel welcome and the service is incredible. They truly do continue to make recommendations that are based on safety. If for some reason your a bit tight on cash, let someone know. The will try to find the best option for your situation of course and in your best interest with regard to safety. If you are tight on time just call ahead for your rotation. In and out. Ten plus years coming here for multiple vehicles in the family. I will not go anywhere else. As a side not and something that may not matter to some, I'll let you decide. Came in on a hot day for a rotation. One of the staff members here walked around handing out cold bottled water. Worst tire place in the area. First of all, everyone who works here has a bullshit knack for underestimating how long it takes for your wait time. I was told 1.5 hours. It has been 3 hours and 15 minutes and my car isn't finished. Oh whats that? You're sorry for the wait? No. Give me a realistic time table to begin with and then I won't be so pissed off. How is 1 and a half hours close to 3 and a half? Complete bullshit. All for 1 fucking tire change. Not 2, not three, not all 4. Just 1. 3 and a half hours to change 1 tire. My husband goes here all the time for his car needs so when it looked like I had a tire problem, I headed in. Someone looked at my car and said I needed to replace all 4 tires. He said the sale started the next day but he would be willing to give me the discount that night. It was right before they closed and I felt like I was being pressured into buying the tires. He even tried getting me to open their credit card. I asked how long the sale was good for and he said it was just good until tomorrow. Seemed a bit fishy. I went back to the dealer where I bought my car and was told none of the tires needed to be replaced for at least 6 months. They were surprised about my experience because they also use Discount Tire and were shocked one of the employees had given me that information. They fixed my slow leaking tire by replacing the valve stem for free. They do not do the hard sell on tires. I bought my Michelin tires for my other car and although they were the most expensive, they told me all about the other cheaper model of tires. They are very professional and knowledgeable. I've been here twice this year for service and have had nothing but great service from them. Earlier this year I purchased a set of four tires and four rims. The employee was helpful in determining what size I needed for a price in my range. The second time I went there was to get a new rim for another of my cars after it was damaged while hitting a pothole. They worked great with me after a secondary vendor messed up the order. They are always swamped when I go there, so be prepared to wait or leave your car. Right now it is winter time, so I'm assuming this is the busy season. I've worked with both the manager, and assistant manager this year, and both have been top-notch helpful. Would recommend to friends. read more

They didn't have the tire in stock but he found it at a near by Discount Tire and also put my spare tire for free so I made it safely to my next location! Imagine that, a business with the customer's safety in mind(thats rare now-a-days)! As I was waiting I also noticed how helpful energetic and intelligent the whole staff was. He really made it right by replacing the tire in question after troubleshooting the problem personally after I had to come back when something was amiss. This was excellent customer service. He took his time to really fix the issue even though the weather was great thus they were very busy. On a road trip cross country. I found DT and they have a lane just for free tire pressure. I stopped in, they guy asked me how much pressure I needed. I had no idea but I told him I was going cross country. He checked for what it should be but then adjusted the number for the mileage, the temperature and elevation changes throughout the trip.
