SCAMMER ALERT! My wife went in for a nail repair. Unfortunately, the nail was too close to the wall so the tire could not be repaired. She then asked them to install the spare tire and the service advisor (Robert) then started huffing and puffing about how they couldn't do it because the tire had a wheel lock. My wife saw them search for the wheel lock in the trunk and they allegedly could not find it so they refused to change the spare tire. However they happily quoted her 4x brand new tires and then tried to pressure her into changing all tires. Somehow they were willing to work through the wheel lock if she purchased 4x tires but not to replace the spare. The scammy pressure tactics frustrated her so she walked away. When she got home I looked in the same place they searched and the wheel lock key was nicely stashed next to the jack in the same place all other Lexus stores them. Go figure. I happily made my way to Costco Tires who were helpful and bought 4x tires with better warranty, better customer service and no scammy sale tactics. read more

We stopped in at this Discount Tire because the air pressure in our one tire was extremely low. This was our first time visiting this location. Well we find out that the tires were the original tires on the vehicle! Time flies I guess.. we had to get all new tires. They had the ones we picked in stock and we were in and out of there in 50 minutes. They were very competent and accommodating. I pulled about about 5:30 pm to have air out in my tires. There was a line of 6 or 7 cars in front of me so I was worried they may not take me. It was 6:10 pm by the time it was my tire. They were polite, pleasant, and took care of all my tires. I was driving my mom's Audi which meant manually resetting the system as well which I had no idea how to do, so they kindly reset for me. Mind you, this is 10 minutes after closing. Additionally, there was a line of 5 or 6 more cars behind me before they finally cut the line off. Been going to DT for awhile at different locations. One reason I like DT is they will fill your tires up. Been to the store in Joliet and Aurora over the years and they have cars in and out, maybe takes 2 minutes per car. Currently sitting in line at this Naperville location and they are taking over 5 minutes a car. Got here at 5:06 and it's currently 5:29 and only 4 cars have gotten air in their tires. I just hope we get air before they close. This store needs improvement. read more

I would give less if I could. I arrived with a flat tire. I am on a trip and am 7+ hours away from home. I conveyed that at the time of arrival. I was told I needed at least 2 tires. I arrived around 10:40 am. The person was quick to sell a tire, but not quick to put it on. I was told it would be don't around 1:30 today. Thankfully there are shops and food around. It is now 1:40 and it hasn't even started. When asked - can't tell me when it may be done. I reiterated my situation of being stranded 7+ hours from home. Appointments take priority. It will get done when it gets done. Poor service and communication. Was never told it would be after all appointments - and of course just wants to tell me there is lord of people today. I went to put some air in my Mercedes. The air was low because I didn't drive the car for awhile. The worker said it seems flat tire. I told him it happened before it's not. He attached the tire to the machine and he told me he wants to ask his manager. It took him about 10 minutes to come back. At the meantime the tire was loosing air because it was still attached to the machine. I didn't care because I thought he will put air in the tire anyway. His manager came and he told me that he can't add air and I need to leave the car and find someone to pick me up. I looked at him and told him that they are thieves and dishonest. They fixed our car over the phone! The tire pressure light on our CRV is on again. The last time this happened, our auto shop in Boston said it was a sensor calibration issue. They charged almost $100 for it. This time we were on a cross-continent road trip and briefly stopping at a friend's place in Naperville. Called a couple other places. No one could give us a same day appointment. Called discount tire. They asked me details over the phone and teached me to try resetting the tire pressure sensor myself. Problem solved! After seeing so many negative reviews, feel like I have to add a positive one! I have had all four of my tires replaced here twice. The most recent time, I walked in and there was an ENORMOUS line. I was nervous given the line, and the reviews, that I'd be there all day. Although I had an appointment, I was concerned I'd be pushed back. Needless to say, I was in and out in an hour with all four tires replaced. Customer service wasn't exactly chipper but I felt I received a fair price, there were great promotions & options, and I was in and out quickly. I've only stopped there when I've had a low tire. Most recently, I noticed all 4 tires were 5 lbs lighter than recommended so off I went. Their customer service is on point. I like that they have a designated area for air. The employees are prompt and never pressure you to get anything more than air. It's a free service so I highly recommend them especially when it's chilly and not out of your way. Went in to get my tire rotation and balance, was told I still had some tread left on my tires but soon would need tires. I looked at their promotions and decided to wait till spring or summer. 2 hours later they said because one tire inside tread was starting to wear so their new policy says the can't service any of my tires? I also bought a tire warranty they never honored . I'm not going to argue with kids so I left . They need an adult their who knows the business. I'm very very impressed! I really like discount tires. About 3 years ago, I had to get new tires after I got a nail in my tire that couldn't get fixed. The man was very honest in saying that, if I just get one new tire with 4 already wearing down, it would wear unevenly. Any who... I got a new set of tires and I cannot explain how great the price was! I felt like a robbed the store. I have to say, it does show you how much the mark up is at dealerships. Okay, now three years later, I have another nail in my tire. I was going to get it just patch at the dealership, but no, wait, screw the Infiniti dealership, $40 there, when discount tires back their tires and does it for free. So I brought it here today and the owner of the store helped me. Great guy, I forgot his name, dang it! We went outside to first look at my tires and this 'nail' more like a bolt, was there. He checked my tires, and I'm at 50,000 miles later after I first purchased them and their still is amazing shape! Also, you get free tire rotations. This place spoils their customers too much. Also, women that hate dealing with the BS of male mechanics thinking we're stupid, you don't have to worry about that here. I had purchased a set of winter tires and wheels for my Camaro in 2018. The TPMS sensors failed after 2-1/2 seasons of use. Discount Tire replaced them at no cost to me. Also, on a previous visit, I witnessed the manager taking care of a customer that was unhappy, but being a bit unreasonable. The manage indicated that it was very important to him that the customer be happy. He replaced a complete set of tires, even though iMHO, in was not his responsibility to do so. My Name is Nicola Carbone and I have a limousine business in Chicago illinois (Plainfield) Use Discount Tires for most then 10 years buying new tires, fixings tires, rotation and more I have 5 limousine (Strech, Sedan, Suv) I'm really disappointed about last time that I brought my sedan Audi A8 for a tire leak (two days ago) They bring my car in .. take the wheel off Come back to me and say that they can't see any leak and I will need a new tire I only drove 20,000 miles with that tire and they cost $220.00 each .... plus they said that I don't have any warranty on that specific tire So I left with my car and after a couple hours again my tire was flat! So I stop to the first tire shop in Naperville and I asked if they can check my Tires just to make sure that I really need a new tire. So the guy sprayed some water around the wheels After 5 minutes pulled the car outside and told me that I was good to go with no charge. The only problem was the Valve on my tire completely loose ... this was the reason my tire was loosing air! Wow! Can't believe that Discount Tires did not see that and they sent me away and to drive the car like that .... and wanted me to buy a new tire and they said I had no warranty when I looked online my tire has a 40,000 mile warranty! Yet another review for this location's awful time estimates and speed. I was told I'd be back on the road in an hour and a half, two and a half hours later and I'm sitting in the waiting room typing this as my vehicle sits untouched in the parking lot. The staff is friendly, prices are competitive, but every time I've come to this particular location the wait is absolutely horrid compared to other locations. there's only 4 bays, which I'm sure is a major contributor to this problem. long story short: if you had plans other than spending your entire afternoon at discount tire, try another location, or perhaps another retailer. read more

Got 4 new tires put on my wife's classic car. The next week I jacked up the car to repair an exhaust leak and found the right rear axle seal was leaking. I removed the tire and discovered the back side of the rim was completely coated in thick sticky gear oil. The wheel well was all wet and the brakes were completely soaked. This had been going on quite a while. I don't blame Discount Tire for the leak, but they certainly knew about it and chose not to tell me. Probably because some people would back out of the new tires in favor of getting the repair done 1st? They took my $500.00, patted my head and let me go on my dangerous way! This is not on this location, this is the company as a hole. If you are going to Finance thru Discount Tires I would not recommend EVER!!! The company they use do not care about customer service or even keeping their client. I buy a round of Tires every 18 months and I USED TO recommend them to about 200 of my service friends. I work for a large service organization and we travel A LOT around Chicago and I can not and will not be recommending them again. The reason for this is that I just paid off my card and then they canceled me the next month because I had a ZERO balance. I had no late payments and always paid more than the min. I called their customer service, they did not listen they just wanted to give me a canned speech and be done with me. I just wanted to swing through this here text box and shout some platitudes about how great Discount Tire has been for me, especially when it comes to one of their front-of-house employees, Tyler. Platitude 1: One of my Michelins (summer tires) decided to explode on the highway, jettisoning the tread. Went to Discount Tire to see what I was looking at for replacement, and Tyler took it upon himself to work with Michelin's warranty department over the course of a couple days, eventually scoring me a decent discount for things that might not normally get covered. Platitude 2: One of my Bridgestones (winter tires) decided to explode on the highway -- see a trend here? After ordering tires through them at fantastic prices, Tyler worked with me and, in under an hour, they managed to put on two new tires and rebuild/replace my TPMS units on all four for a price that would make a dealership's head explode. Literally. Well, if dealerships had literal heads, they'd be exploding. Platitude 3: Tyler may or may not have saved a bunch of orphans from a burning building, without missing a minute of his shift. This guy, I swear. But seriously, excellent service, great prices and dedication to the job. Both the gentlemen I worked with (Tyler and Ariel) earned me as a customer for life, along with my entire business. I continually have to go back and get tires fixed ( bad seal on rim, loose valve, pressures way off) All the while Kent and Patrick at the front desk smile at you (like your an Asshole) then charge you for the repair that is obviously there fault, of there 12 year old crew. read more
