FRAUDULENT and POOR SERVICE CHARGED ME FOR THE WRONG TIRES Summary: -Lied to about wait time (it was double) -Lied to about receiving kit at end -Wrong tires installed (hazardous) -Was told tires were not in stock, and by someone else that they were -Told I would receive better mileage tires and did not I went to this location to buy two new tires for my car. I told them exactly which tires I needed. I also asked if I could have the TPMS rebuild kit once they completed the job. They responded, "Absolutely." They told me that the job would be done in two hours. At the end of two hours, they said that they needed another two hours. All in all, I waited four hours, after driving a half hour to this location. The tires were installed. I asked for the kit I had requested, the one they had agreed to give me. "Oh sorry, we threw that away," they told me. A few days later, I took my car to a local auto repair shop to diagnosis some unusual noises. The noise was coming from the tires. After surveying my car, the mechanic asked me, "Why do you have the wrong size tires on your car? Where did you get those done?" I immediately pulled out my receipt from the The Discount Tire Store. The Discount Tire Store charged me on my receipt for the tires I requested, and then installed another size of tire on my car. This is not only fraudulent, but dangerous. I immediately called the Discount Tire Store to see if they could remedy the situation. On the phone, the lady told me that they only had one of the correct tire in stock. Therefore, they would upgrade me to a tire with higher mileage. When I arrived, I asked to speak with a manager. The guy at the counter told me he was the manager. I told him what happened, and he said they would install the correct tires (the ones they should have done initially.) He said that they DID have them in stock. I was not offered a discount, and I was not upgraded to a better mileage tire as I had been promised. In short, I wasted a Saturday because they did not do the job right the first time. Discount Tire Store is dishonest. I will never buy tires from them again. read more

I called and spoke with Josh about getting a price quote on 4 tires. He informed me that they only had 3 in stock, but would have the 4th one the next day before they opened. He scheduled my appointment for the next day at 8am. As soon as they opened the doors, he met me with a smile, grabbed my keys and got right to work. I have always used discount tire for all of my tire needs, and there is even one less than 2 miles from my house, but I will drive out of the way to go to this store. read more

I never write reviews, as a mater of fact this is my first. Was in 4 months ago and can only rave about this place. Best customer service experience I have had in for ever. Great, informative, patient, knowledgeable, staff. Matched the best deal I could find in the net. Complimentary water while I wait and I didn't finish the bottle because they got my tires on so fast. Free pressure check and rotation later on. Only good good. If you need tires or service I highly recommend these guys. They are doing it right and they get it. What a morning! Screw in one tire on 2010 Prius. Caused sensor to break. Fixed tire for free! Told about sensor. Great price so I said OK. Got car and yellow light still on. They checked all sensors and found all now failed except for the one they put in. Thought this strange, but when I called trusted friend on business in another city, he said their price was BELOW his and he really trusted these guys. ( he knows them personally). If you ever need tires or need a flat tire fixed come to Discount Tire. Today, I brought my 300 to get a flat tire fixed. FYI, the tires were not purchased here. The guys here were friendly and fast, they had my tire fixed within 45 minutes and didn't charge me a dime. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is horrible I was in line for 30 minutes then watched a lady who dropped off a flat at 8AM and it was now 4PM they not only lost the car probably to someone out joyriding. Ouch simply unacceptable I would have to say I will drive another way!!!! read more

Never again! I learned my lesson! For starters took over 30 mins to get a simple air check. They need a better line system as i had already waited at least 10 mins when a woman coming in decided to cut me in line and proceeded to nearly hit me three times! Then the guy didn't check my spare i had to remind him. I see him drop down in my rearview mirror looking underneath when my spare is clearly and visibly mounted on the back of my car! My tire light kept coming on and I had been to discount tire for the free air check but after it came on multiple times I made an appointment because I was very concerned. I came in and Sergio immediately helped me and told me there was two nails and he would try to patch it and if they couldn't they would give me a new tire because it was covered under my warranty. I ended up getting the new tire and Sergio answered all my questions and made me feel very safe with my new tires! They also got me in and out in no time! Thank you guys so much! read more

Tire quality is there and the prices are OK but they have now forced you to take the valve stems, the road hazard, and free rotation. In the past this was an option. Who in the heck needs to spend $20 on valve stems and the taxes on disposal of the tires seems awful high - though I suppose we have Al Gore to thank for that just like the internet tax he put on our phone bills. But where would we be without Al Gores Internet and his limo and mansion that leaves a carbon footprint the size of King Kong! read more

What the hell is the point of making an appointment if your car doesn't get touched for an hour. I tried to give these guys another chance after damaging new rims my last visit(and this was after a string of bad experiences here) but once again they fall short of being considered good. If you choose this place do so at your own risk. If you think you can make an appointment and get right in, think again. I will be choosing other places over discount from now own. DISCOUNT TIRE IS TAKING ME TO COURT BECAUSE I WOULDN'T ACCEPT THEY'RE REFUSAL TO HONOR REFUND FOR A DEFECTIVE TIRE. A dishonest business that won't stand behind their products, and takes they're cheated customers to court. They sold me a defective tire that I'm mounting on motorcycle cruiser rear. Put it all together with much sweat in 105+ heat, then took it all apart again. After a third visit they said it was bead not seated, so I tried several times to soap and press the bead in at 90 psi - not a bead set problem. Agreement was that I get a good tire free and clear of all charges. No go when I dismounted the tire and took it back. They rather kicked me out than discuss it, so they lost a monitor; now they're taking me to court. This will be interesting, and I am all in for it. Totally happy with the customer service and results. I went to another location yesterday, with a nail in one tire, and whoever he was tried to up sale me for almost 500.00 . When I declined to accept that, they replaced two tires, patched the hole and I drove off with a crooked steering wheel and a car that kept pulling to one side. I was so angry and nervous driving but I thought it was all in my head after the horrible service I got. Came here and it turns out I was right. The tread on the front two tires didn't match, and they agreed it could be what caused the car to pull. They offered to switch the two tires for two new tires, and the third. What a great shop. Fantastic service! We went in to get a tire patched up. Since we've bought tires from them before (but for a different car), they offered to do the job for free. They were rather busy that afternoon but all the employees were really nice. The fix only took about an hour and my car was ready to go when we went to pick it up. went there this morning after my spare tire went flat. 2 flat tires! anyways....this place got me in and out in less than an hour and they actually stood by their warranties. i thought for sure i would get scammed but it never happened. the service was great and everybody was very helpful. i will most likely only go to discount for now on. what i thought would cost 300 bucks only ended up being 68 bucks. included my new tire...a patch on my spare...2 more warranties...and balance! not bad. trust me. my tires always hate me. read more

Have been here many times and had excellent service and was looking forward to writing a five-star review after my last visit, but it didn't happen. Had a flat tire at work, put on the donut, went home and made an appointment via computer for 2 pm the next day. My wife had a cancellation and so we dropped off the car an hour early and went across the street to have lunch. They called me and said they couldn't replace the tired because I had a seized lug. I returned to the store and as I had hand tightened the nuts enough to get the car home and then to the shop asked how a seized lug was even possible. The clerk (A gentleman by the name of Jon-Luc, yes like the Capt of the Enterprise) laughed and called me "Superman" They did send to the Brake Masters down the road with a form to take care of the problem free of charge. So I go there, they give me my car back about 30 minutes later with the donut still on.When I question this, I'm told that the invoice said to fix the lug, not change the tire and it could be done, but I would be charged. Late for work already I took the car and called Discount on the way and talked to the Capt. He said to bring in the car anytime and they would get me in right away. Next day I brought my car over after dropping my baby at the sitter, explained the situation to the clerk and sat to wait. After 45 minutes my car still hasn't moved. I was going to ask for my key back and the $16 I was charged for installation the day before , when a manager by the name of Edgar stepped in and asked the problem. I explained everything and how I needed to leave for work. He asked if I could wait 5 minutes. I gave him that. He personally went into the work area grabbed an employed and directed him to take my car in and make the change. He also pointed me out through the glass and told him to come get me as soon as it was done. Edgar I thank you for restoring my faith in this location. 1677 W. Chandler Blvd. Chandler, AZ 85224 After arriving home from working the night shift I heard a hissing sound in my garage. Closer investigation revealed a foreign object in one of my car's tires. Drove to the Discount Tire on Chandler Blvd. It was 7:00AM and they don't open until 8:00AM. I parked in front of one of the bay doors just before the tire went flat. At exactly 8:00AM the store opened and several minutes later I was approached by a sales associate. I explained my situation and asked that the tire be repaired. After removing a 6 inch bolt from my tire I was informed that the tire could not be repaired "because of previous improper repairs" made on the tire. (???) The tires were approaching the end of their life so I decided to purchase two new tires. The installation went smoothly. I inquired about the TPMS system (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) being reset and was assured that it had been taken care of. I drove home and everything seemed fine. A few days later a TPMS alarm light began illuminating on my dashboard indicating a problem with one of my tires. The display confirmed that there was no pressure reading from one of my tires. I manually checked all four tire pressures and narrowed the problem to one of the new tires. All four tires were properly inflated but one of the new ones was not sending it's signal to the Unit. Since I had been charged $20.00 for "TPMS rebuild kits" by Discount Tire I returned to the store. A technician brought out his little analyzer and made the light on my dash go out. All four tires were now sending their pressures to my display and the all was well with the world......for about a day and a half. Same problem; different "new" tire. Returned to the store after a few days and repeated the process, with a different technician. When I made the comment about being charged for the TPMS rebuild kits he told me that $20.00 charge was "obligatory" with all new tire sales. He also suggested that I return my vehicle to the Dealer and inquire about have the system looked at if it was still under warranty. Long store short.....the dash light came on a few days later and the problem persists. I'm going to have the Dealer look into it at my next oil change. As for Discount Tire; they lost my future business due to their lack of concern for my problem, (a problem THEY initiated), lack of persistence in fixing it and an apparently bogus $20.00 charge for an "obligatory" TPMS rebuild kit. read more

If you can, select another Discount Tire location. The Manager "Teddy" lacks basic customer service skills. Had a rotation, balance and inspection done recently. Time in and out was satisfactory. Tech came out and told me that my car was finished and he would pull it in front. Then he said, "by the way one of your lug nuts broke off" and handed me a baggie with the nut and stud in it. He said it was because of "corrosion". There is NO corrosion anywhere on the car. He then handed me a post card where I would have to spend 2-3 hours getting the stud replaced "free of charge". I guess he was considering my time as free because of their mistake. I left in a bit of a hurry and became angered after I drove off. I phoned the store and spoke with "Teddy". I told him what happened and he said that this would be a great training tool for his staff. I told him that I was upset that now I have to waste 2-3 hours of my time because of their mistake. He never apologized and NEVER ASKED ME MY NAME. I called the regional manager the next day and told him of my experience and he went through the motion of listening and being falsely concerned. Not one bit of sincerity or concern in his voice. This isn't the first time this store has broken or damaged one of my vehicles. I may stay a Discount Tire customer but, I'll never set foot in this store location again. Beware of this store. read more
