I had a bubble develop in one of my tires so I created an appointment online to get this handled. While making the appointment, I included my car's details and my concern in the information box my appointment was for 4:45 the next afternoon and I was able to check in online, or at least inform them I was making my way down to the shop. A few minutes after doing that, I got a phone call from Kristian but did not realize it until I arrived. He was calling to let me know, 20 minutes before my appointment time, that they did not have my tire size in stock. When I got to the shop, they greeted me and asked why I came in which I informed him about the bubble in my tire. Without even looking at my tire, he said it will need to be replaced. Once he put it together that I was the one he called about it not being in stock, he was very quick to just say he could not help me at all. I would have hoped that they would see the details for my appointment sooner than 20 minutes before the time of it and have ordered a tire in the morning so it would be there by the time I got there. I did not appreciate the level of service that I received. If he could quickly suggest I needed a new tire without looking at it, someone else should have been able to see the information from my appointment to order a tire so it would be ready by the time I got there later than afternoon. He just sent me to another store saying "they have the tire you need". The other shop was much better than this one. I would not return here even if they had a store specific sale that made it worth my while. read more

Great customer service. Staying past close to assist and get me back on the road. Picked up a nail on the road (in case one of you dropped yours) and a leak I did have. Called the shop and asked if they could get me in, they said have it here before 5:59 and we will take care of you. So 535p I'm in the shop and a puncture they did fix. I was out the door by 6:10 and although all the workers said it was no problem I know they all have lives and wives to get home to. Very friendly staff, had an appointment at 10:45 and was in my car driving away by 12:30. For service I had 4 new tires put on and they checked for an alignment but let me know I didn't need one which was reassuring that they were not trying to upsell me. Had 2 tires that were leaking. One could not be repaired due to the type of plug another tire retailer installed and the other leak was related to corrosion on the wheel where the tire seals. Yesterday, my low mileage Audi developed a flat tire and I was shocked! It was Sunday and nothing was open at 5pm, but a friend had used Discount Tire so I went on their website and made an appointment and bought new tires. I chose Michelin's, price was less than Costco. I drove by, in my husband's car to see if they had suggestions about getting my car with a flat safely there, they said pump it up and bring it in now, we have your tires and can do it now. Beware!! Air was low in my tire - only have about 10,000 miles on a 55,000 mile tire. Called Discount tire and the eagerly told me to "bring your car in we repair tires for FREE." I brought my car in and gave my keys to the attendant. He pulled my car into the stall, glanced at ty tire and then went to his computer and checked his inventory. Came back to me and said - "geez can't repair your tire the tread is to low, but I can sell you a new tire and we have it in stock. I called bullshit, got my keys and left. I brought a trailer in that had a tire that had a nail in it. I was already purchasing 2 new tires for the trailer (out of 4), but they refused to patch the one I was keeping that they found a nail in. They said the tire was too old - so I told them to go ahead and do 4 tires - but was disappointed in them not patching the one they refused to patch. Originally I had given the experience 1 star, but as I was checking out, I saw they had only charged me for 2 tires instead of the 4 new ones they had put on. Let me preface my review by saying that my husband (under whose name the account is) and I have been loyal customers of Discount Tire, usually the one in Lawrence, for 3-4 years. Over the years, we have bought multiple full tire replacements for our two Civics, the two Priuses, the F-250 ($1200 alone), the S-10, and the Jeep Liberty. We have always been happy with the level of service and value they provide, especially with their punctured tire repair service. Their warranty service is one of the best offered. However, my opinion is now changed - at least for the Olathe location. Last week I brought our recently purchased 2002 CR-V in to have a tire rotation/balance/inspection, because we had no knowledge of when that was last done. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my 3:00 appointment and they were happy to get started. They let my well-behaved border collie come inside and lay down next to my feet. So far so good. That started changing when one of the technicians came out to let me know that they had broken two of the studs for the lug nuts, one each on the passenger front and passenger rear tires. He claimed it was because whoever took the tires off and put them back on the last time had overtightened the studs such that they broke this next time, and that the tires were still safe (especially with my 65 mile drive home) with only 5 lug nuts instead of 6, because 4 are required. First mistake: this car has 5 lug nuts on each tire, so actually now I'm only driving with the bare minimum required number of lug nuts on half my tires. He gave me a voucher for a car repair place nearby that they work with, which means leaving my car there for 4+ hours in the middle of the workday and somehow still figuring out how I'm going to be able to work, in the middle of the week, again 65 miles from home. But this is the only place they work with. And he assured me it would be safe until then. Wrong. Second, worse mistake: coming back from visiting my parents in Kansas City for Easter, the car starts rumbling and vibrating horribly when I let the foot off the gas to slow down on the highway. Turns out, they failed to tighten the lug nuts properly on the driver side tires. My husband could actually loosen them and take them off entirely by hand once we pulled over and jacked the car up on the jack stand. So if you value your time and your life (i.e. not having your tire come unmounted on the highway!), do not visit this Discount Tire location. read more

I was sitting and waiting for my car tires to be fixed (didn't take long) and up until the next moment it was clean, calm, and cool. Then a customer came in was completely satisfied with their service but then started complaining about his life. And particularly started insulting a gender. Immediately the manager corrected him and calmed him down then after that came to me and apologized. I was not particularly insulted but it was the decency and the thoughtfulness that really helped my so far terrible day. Dustin gets my car in super quick - comes out to tell me the nail didn't puncture but my wheel is corroding and it's affecting the seal. Wow. I've taken this thing to the dealer multiple times and never knew that was even possible. Dustin says he's going to have the guys put sealer on and balance them. Finds a dent in two of the wheels. I was visiting from out of town and had my TPMS fault light come on. I brought the car in and was told all four tires needed to have the tire pressure part replaced at $65 each. I questioned how all 4 tires could have "gone out" at the same time. " I was told "it is a little weird." They did not have the four parts I needed in stock so I did not have them replaced that day. I drove back to my home state the next day and the TPMS fault light went off. I had my car checked at my local Discount Tire store in Colorado and was told everything was fine. I've always had excellent service at my local Colorado Discount Tire store. I wanted to warn others that this particular store in Kansas is not reliable and dishonest. We have purchased discount tires direct & had them shipped for our cars for years. They have always had the best price & warranty. We are very happy to have a new store in our hometown now. They serviced our tire that had a small nail & was able to fix the issue at no cost to us with a tire repair. Another tire store wanted to sell us 4 new tires instead of fixing the tire. While other shops charge over $30 for tire repair, Discount Tire is Free! We were serviced as a late walkin and they stayed open a few minutes later in order to service our tire. Customer service was outstanding throughout the process by all 3 technicians. Highly recommend - these guys are true tire guys - it's all they do. I ordered 4 tires from this location and they told me they came in so I scheduled an appointment and when I arrived they only had 3. They said oops and told me they would call me when the other arrived which they said would be the next day. I waited for a call and never got one. I called them and they said it still hadn't came in. No apology or any concern for my time they were wasting. I waited 2 weeks for a call and never got one so I called them and they said the tires had been there for 2 weeks and they had been calling the wrong number to get a hold of me. They had the right number the first time they called me so I don't buy that excuse at all. They are a bunch of kids working there and I'm sure they forgot and I get it. They wasted a ton of my time and I really needed the tires but I went elsewhere and was treated properly so all is good. I was a Discount Tire customer for over 10 years but those days are over. These guys rock! I just needed a new ZTR Mower tire mounted on the rim and after being told by Goodyear they couldn't do it, these guys at DT were more than happy to do it. I had also bought my truck tires from them and was due for a free lifetime rotation and balance which they also did during this visit. In all, it took them about 15 min and I was out the door. When you have a truly exceptional experience these days, you realize just how rare that is - and how hard it is to put into words. From the minute I called in (to determine if I really needed to replace my tires) Josh, the manager, was so kind, friendly and helpful. When I drove down, he was honest with me about the state of my tires (I didn't disagree). He was patient with my trying to remember when/where I bought my last tires - then patiently waited for me to call the in Denver to find out mileage, etc. Josh even helped to organize all of my car records which were shoved in my glove box! And recommended a great tire for me in my price range. (Needless to say, that is a weight off my mind on the long 1800 mile trek I have before me). Let me not forget to mention...he helped me get a $50 rebate on my previous Toyo tires since they didn't make the warranty mileage! The sweet technicians (Nick and someone else) who did the work had a smile and sparkle in their eye - and we also so friendly and courteous. We had a little fun exchange about how awesome manual transmission cars are to drive and one of them had the sister car to my Honda CRZ. I had to call Josh back tonight and tell him he made my day.
