I've never been excited about buying or replacing tires; I'm not car-savvy and I always procrastinate things like this (mainly due to my ignorance), so I was not looking forward to spending my Saturday morning replacing all 4 of my tires on my CR-V. I waltz in, just after they open (at 8) and immediately think "great, I'll be here all day", as there is already a line and multiple customers being worked with. I was about to give up and try somewhere else, when I was greeted and thanked by not one, not two, but three different employees. "Thanks for coming in and for your patience! We'll be right with you guys" they tell me (and the others in line). Could it be that they actually care about ALL of their customers?? (Hint: the answer is yes) After about 5 minutes of waiting in line, James comes and greets me and starts chatting with what brought me in, and we go take a look at my car and start the process. Not once did I feel like I was getting a sales pitch, and I was impressed with his knowledge and ability to give me an honest, accurate recommendation on what options I had - including trading in a tire I had replaced last year, which I didn't even think was possible. He was polite, friendly, and congenial 100% of the time - something I have never experienced ever, at any kind of car repair/tire/tune up shop. I decided to go with some Michelins, and am told that it will only take about 45 minutes if I wanted to wait around. I happily agreed, and got to relax in their spacious and clean (and chilly!) waiting area. Exactly 45 minutes later, my car is ready to go and I drive off, extremely pleased and thankful that I still have my morning to enjoy. James: your customer service was impeccable, and you have easily earned a repeat customer. These guys took care of me in under 30 minutes. I was told by a competitor that I had two tires with separated tread. Steven looked at them and was able to assess the issues, spin the tires on the rim, and balance the wheels to get be back on the road. Let me re-phrase. Today I had a flat and was in and out in before I could finish my coffee. The guys here are super friendly and don't pressure you into anything. The staff always greets everyone with a smile. I had mad respect for them today for the patience and respect they showed a disabled veteran and a mom with baby. Plus the road hazard coverage is TOTALLY WORTH IT. When I bought my tires 3000 miles ago, they were really clear on what I needed, what the condition of my existing tires were & what caused it (cough Rotate your tires ppl cough). A typical woman driver, I never really understood the importance of rotating and balancing my tires regularly but these guys set me straight. I honestly don't know why'd anyone would go anywhere else to get new tires. They have the best prices and the best service. They must put their employees through a strong training program because they always seem to be on point with whatever questions you ask regardless of who you deal with. I sent a friend there not too long ago and they got a really good deal on 4 new tires. The rotation service and warranty on the tires is nice as well. I've been here 3 or 4 times the last couple of years with nails. They never have a problem with that. They just get you in and out. Yes it does get busy, but that is because they are good. Well I got my tires replaced today. Spent a little more than I wanted to but I was willing to considering that they gave me a 10% military discount since another location had offered it. Kyle helped me choose a tire and he was pretty helpful. Seems like a nice dude. The service definitely took longer than 45 minutes but I was in no rush. All of the men working there seem to know what they're doing, and they are very prompt and professional. When I finished paying, I asked if they do alignments and where I should go if they don't. I was handed a discount tire card with an ad for "Rush Automotive" and special alignment offer for Discount Tire customers only. I looked on yelp for another potential offer just to see how it compared. I called Rush on my way after leaving Discount Tire, and they wouldn't take walk-ins. Said I had to have an appointment even just to check my alignment which I thought may not even need anything since I got new tires and felt a dramatic difference. In addition, the "special" price they offered was more than the FIRST alternate place I called and actually went to. Seems a little shady to advertise what seems like a deal when it just isn't. I ended up going to Jerry's where he told me he didn't feel right charging me because my alignment was just about perfect. I can now rest assured my 600 dollar tires won't have a shorter lifespan than expected, and now know that my auto needs will be taken care of by Jerry's Wheel Alignment and Tire Balancing shop. I am thankful for wonderful customer service. My car let me know I had a tire needing some help. I was closest to Lamb's so I pulled in there first. They turned me away even though they didn't close for almost an hour. I promptly called the Pflugerville location, where Gabe's assurance they would make sure my car was safe to drive was comforting. I have always received great service at Discount Tire. Should have known better then to try somewhere else. Not only did they great me as soon as I walked in, but Anthony quickly figured out there was a screw in the tire. My safety was more important than them getting off on time. Friendly Service, decent tire prices. You can get better prices across the street at Walmart. But this place is faster about getting you in and out. For tire repairs I prefer not to use the big chains because they will tell you something is not repairable in the hopes of selling you a ne we tire. Not going to lie, I was quite annoyed at Discount tire due to some damage caused when I brought my truck in for routine maintenance... went to multiple shops to try to get an estimate for the repair and was told multiple times that the shop was unable to repair the issue... long story short, I complained, they recommended a shop, I took it there and the work was done within a couple hours and Discount took care of everything... thank you for making it right read more

Went in to get tires rotated and they broke off stud. The guy said he didn't know if it was their fault or mine. It's yours this is the third time I had to go get a stud fixed because of discount tire. Had to take it over to Christian brothers to fix and they informed me that in fact discount tire messed up three of the studs for the lug nuts. I had to drive around for two days with damage glad my tire stayed on. Very inconvenient and had to miss half a day of work!!!! Recommend you provide retraining for your techs. I have come here a ton over the years with multiple trucks whether for new tires, tire rotations, or upgrading my wheels and tires. They have always been helpful and stand by their work. I ordered some Michelin ps4's which is one of the best tires for my bmw from costco. I find out it's going to take 2 weeks for them to come in so I head down to this discount tire location and the tell me they could have them in the next day. I go for it because I have a tire vibrating like crazy and cancel the Costco tires. A few days after having them my car feels like the wheels are coming off on the highway. I pull over and sure enough they are coming off. I was missing most of my lug bolts on one side. I call them and say someone didn't torque down one side of my car and the manager asked me to bring it in because my rim was damaged around the lug bolt. I go in and he kinda gives me the run around about how he couldn't see it doing the damage it did. As someone who spends many hours detailing my car i know that it wasn't there before and can only assume that it was cause by that wheel almost coming off. At this point I don't care about the rim. About to leave I say oh wait I need to add the warranty they have to my tires. I was waiting on Costco to refund me and just spending around 2k on tires I put it off. The manager says don't worry about it I'll add it at no cost. A week goes by and now my 2 month old TPMS sensors no longer work and I discover my speedo is off. I go to look at the tires and they weren't the right size as I ordered. They wrote down my old tire size that I had on there and also looked at the exact tire I wanted from Costco's receipt but went by their computer size. Again i let it go because last bringing it up to them I got the run around. Fast forward a few months later I get a hole in my tire. I call them up and to order a new tire and they tell me I don't have the certificates which the manager never added and now is saying he denies saying that. They tell me to bring it in and will take care of it. At this point I ask myself do I really want to spend $190 on the certificates to continue down this pleasant experience I've had with them? It's costs me a lengthy tow back home, tpms sensors, a rim, 7 lug bolts on top of tires. A simple apology would have made me feel better about the situation. I think one is due when your lack of attention could easily could cost someone's life when failing to torque down the things that keep your wheels on the road. Well after leaving there today with a new tire and getting on to the highway i now have vibration coming from my tires. Yay! read more

So I stop over here to get my tires checked as the tread appears to be on low side on 2 front tires. The guys here are very friendly, polite and efficient. They took the time to explain the condition of my tires and remedies. As my AMG requires premium quality tires, they had all the different makes available with wide range of prices I was getting a little confuse as to which one is best for my car, Chris picked on that and put me at ease and advise not only on the make to choose from, he went further ahead and gave me monthly plan which works out even better for me specially as I just bought the car and money was kind of tight. I ended up replacing all 4 tires even though I really needed 2. I am glad I stop over this branch to check out the price rather then going to Firestone which is closer to my work and convenient but they were expensive. My rear tires were in dire need of replacing, so I made an appointment for 8am and showed up a few minutes prior. Even though they weren't technically "open", two associates immediately came out- one from customer service and one from the workshop. I had an online quote worked up the previous day and once I handed it to them they immediately went to work on my tires. I asked them about the possibility of using the better of the "old" tires as a full-size spare, which they looked into and found wasn't a possibility because of the size of my spare compartment. They did find that my existing spare was flat and went ahead and aired it up for me without my even having to ask. They were completely done with the job in 20 minutes! The staff was friendly, helpful and thorough. I would highly recommend this location to anyone in the market for tires or wheels. read more

On Friday 4/19 around 1pm, I happened to be in the area, saw this shop and pulled in to have my tires air checked. A young guy was doing an SUV, looked at me as I came in, and I stopped about 10ft behind it to wait. He finished, the SUV drove away and I began to pull forward. The young man walked over to the store's door and put his meter down and started to walk past me. I rolled my window down and asked about a tire check. He said, "we're closed; you can come back at 3". I stated I was waiting and didn't live in the area; he shrugged, shook his head and kept walking. Shifting to high pressured sales! I just got a hole patched there recently and there was a two hour wait. Which was no big deal because I brought my book with me in anticipation. So, in my time there I heard the same scare tactics used on each new customer that came through the door. They have a big illustration of tire tread measurements as soon as you walk in and based on where your tires fit on the scale you are "in the green, in the yellow, or in the red" which timelines your pending (they hope) tire replacement. I heard fear mongering, repeated badgering, and the repeated "you are already here and it won't take us any longer, you might as well just do it now". It was really despicable. So, when my car was done I had to hear the same spiel. But my real problem is that from the thousands of dollars I have spent with them, I have always insured my tires and have over 40,000 miles remaining on my current warranty. Why would I purchase new tires when I am under warranty still? I paid extra up front exactly to avoid this situation of worrying about a premature failure of my tires. It was awkward and also just plain bad salesmanship on top of the lack of integrity. All that said, I can't complain about the service itself. They patched my warrantied tire at no cost, although there was a long wait. read more

Brought my car in because of a slow leak in one tire and was hoping they could patch it and that i wouldn't have to buy a new one. I was pretty much expecting them to say it couldn't be patched and I needed a new one but instead they checked and double checked and figured out it was probably just the valve stem. So they fixed it for free and it was a great experience. Most other tire places probably would have just told me it needed a new tire so I appreciate their honesty and professionalism. I had an appointment last Friday to have my tires rotated and balanced. I arrived early and waited and waited. I finally walked up to the desk and was taken care of. I looked at my watch when I sat down and it was 1:05 pm. When my name was called and I was told my car was ready it was 1:19 pm. Wow! Where my tires even rotated and balanced???? When I got into my car there was black grease on the driver's door panel and on the steering wheel!! So I purchased the certificates from another location came to a get the tire checked out. At first they told me run flats could not be repaired, when they looked up the tire and didn't have it in stock and saw how hard it would be to remove the flat from the back they decided it was patchable all of a sudden. I have to give the guys some credit but not much! I had to be proactive throughout the whole process I have had a couple flats replaced in my life and know when someone is giving me the run around. In the future I just end up going to the Discount tire shop off I-35 in round rock the guys there give me 5 star service. read more

Anthony is quite amazing. I have a lot of requirements -- never rotate wheels when installing new tires, get back old and new unused parts, self-drive into the bay, don't remove old weights unless needed, make sure manufacturer red/yellow dot procedure is followed (apparently, no one knows about this, and I had to tell them the whole procedure). In all of this, Anthony was amazingly patient and accommodating! In the end, the did forget to put pressure into the tires, perhaps because it was too many of them working on my car at the same time, plus I had the keys, and putting correct pressure is tied to the procedure of returning the keys, but since I specifically requested 36 PSI afterwards before actually driving off from the bay, it was all good -- some apparently had 34, some 40, but I drove off with 36 in all. Not to mention -- I got a really good deal price wise -- they decided to honour the prorated mileage warranty on all tires, even though only one was flat with a nail. Other locations only offered to prorate at most 2 tires if I buy 4, this one got all 4! A word of caution, though -- they do seem to down-measure how much thread is left compared to the measurements at other places, which is only a concern for someone who wants to get the absolute maximum number of miles out of their tires and disregard possible extra safety issues with running on low thread. However, since they give full credit, it more than makes up for it -- they care more about our safety than we our self seem to be capable of! read more

Kyle told my 70 year old mother not to worry too much about the DRY ROT on the sides of her tires - just "don't drive too fast or far away" . Now, granted she made the decision not to spend $300 on new tires for her 1999 Honda, but his answer was irresponsible and even though his hands were tied, since he could not force her to purchase, such "advice" was unconscionable.
