I had the pleasure of working with Matt today after a not so wonderful excursion to Toyota Poway first. I had a large screw in my tire, I thought it would be covered by ToyotaCare. It was not. They told me the tire was not repairable and I needed 2 tires to the time of $700+. I declined and went to Discount Tire (we have used them over the years) and Matt looked at the tire and said "No problem we can repair it". We have a Tesla and decided to do tires with Discount because that is what I have done my whole adult life and always have been please with their service and help when needed over the many years. Recently, I had an entire blow out just as I pulled into my appointment 30 minutes from home. We have one vehicle thanks to the Tesla, but I digress. AAA pulled through and towed me for free (I have a $50/yr membership) because it was within my tow limit and I am so glad they towed it here! Because I had three kids to Uber home because they cannot be towed, I was not there to provide the key to the Discount Tire employees. I was told by a very nice employee that there really was nothing she could do because it was a general rule not to accept remote support for service for often times not reaching the owner when needed and having the electric vehicle now stealing an entire vehicle bin. I empathize but I needed someone to have a human moment who has authority to help so I politely asked for the manager, (will update once I find my notes on his name), he heard me out and was firm that this was a one time thing because of my desperate situation. I agreed and I had my car done a few hours later. BTW I got my entire tire replaced for $42 and it is usually about $400 but their warranty system on their tires have saved me literally thousands of dollars over the 20 years of commitment to this company. This was our first experience with this location and will probably be our last. Purchased 4 new tires online and made an appointment for today. They put tires on our car and right before we leave, we realized they aren't the tires we had purchased. They go to put the tires we purchased on and realized they put one of our 4 tires we bought in someone else's car. So now they are ordering a new tire and we have to reschedule and bring it in again when that comes in. What an awful experience read more

Purchased a set of BF Goodrich KO2 tires and they installed Goodyear Wrangler Tires which if you don't know are about $140 cheaper than the tires I purchased. I Give them 1 star because at least they will be swapping out the tires for the ones i purchased however it was a waste of time and very unprofessional. Lesson learned ! Be aware and make sure to always double check and make sure you are getting the product you are purchasing. My fault was trusting these guys without double checking but it's not something you would expect from a discount tire location , that is something that happens in other tire shops. Stopped in without an appointment to check my tires. My yellow light had come on and I thought perhaps my tires may need to be replaced. If you're curious what the yellow light looks like, I've posted a picture! That way, if you see this light, you can come in to see if you have an issue with the inflation of your tire or if it's sprung a leak! The line was long when I walked in. It was the day after Christmas and everyone knows how crazy that day is! Jose checked me in after a ten minute wait. It was 8:33am. He was super friendly. I was thrilled to learn that my tires had more life in them still after his inspection and measuring of the tread left on the tires. He told me my car should be ready by 9:45am. At 9:28, my car still wasn't in the shop, so I was not confident the tires would be balanced and rotated on time. At 9:29, I saw someone get in my car to move it to the shop. Amazingly, the crew worked super quickly and efficiently to complete my car by the time promised. I was rolling out by 9:43am. I would definitely come here again. And I'm lucky this location is close to home so it's quick and convenient. read more

The level of incompetence here cannot be comprehended. Where do we start? 1. My vehicle was brought in with 255/55/19 tires. They replaced them with 255/50/19 tires without consulting me and then said "replaced with same tires." No apologies. 2. When I got into my car and drove away, my tire pressures were as follows FR - 31psi FL - 36psi RR - 36psi RL - 31psi They were so dumb that they cross-installed the tires that they had pre-set the pressures on. However, to add insult to injury, the correct cold pressures for my car (in the door jamb) are 36psi front and 44psi rear, so they set the pressures wrong anyways. A. Bunch. Of. Morons. read more

I had an appointment for a tire rotation and balance and arrived few minutes prior. Only 1 service member in the room who kept answering the phone and helping those people who called while customers stood in line, waiting. I was 5th in line, and waited about 12 minutes past my appointment time before my name was called by another service member who then entered the room. There were walk-ins ahead of me who were told the service would take approx +2 hrs. They do prioritize you over walk-ins if you made an appointment. I was asked to pay first, which I did. I was told the service from start to finish would not take more than an hour, therefore I stayed and waited. After my car was given back to me, I noticed the left front tire was now in the left rear and left rear was now in left front. But the right front tire was still in the right front, and right rear was still in the right rear. How do I know this? Because I always mark my tires LF, LB, RF, RB on all my vehicles before taking it into the shop for tire rotation. This way I know if tires were rotated. I told the technician right away and they pulled my car in to change the right side tires. Then the service person who originally was the same person answering phone when I first arrived, identified themself as the store manager. I explained to this person what happened, then this person got confrontational in my face and said that with their own eyes saw them rotate my tires. And I said it was not rotated because I mark my tires, so I showed them the markings. Then this person proceeded to get really close up and say, "Are you telling me that I didn't see your tires rotated". I saw your tires rotated!" At this point I asked to see a supervisor above this person because it was apparent that this person was not going to remedy the problem. Another service member walked up and identified himself as the manager. This person was wearing leather dress shoes, not work shoes. He was the one that listened and changed the right side front and back tires. No apologies, just did not say anything, but got the job done. I spent few days thinking whether or not I should write a review. I am still not feeling well about the treatment I was given. Every employee before hiring is asked how they would treat a customer if the customer was not satisfied. Do you think the person is hired if they say to a customer that they "saw it with own eyes that tires were rotated!!!!" when clearly the customer has proof that it wasn't? And without apology and rude tone, mistreat customers? You are in a service oriented business to provide service. Under no circumstance should a customer be treated this way. Unfortunately I decided to write the review because I do not want anyone else getting treated this way. The only 2 positives I could say is: 1. because I had an appointment, I was prioritized over walk-ins 2. the manager who wore dress shoes was clearly a manager and took care of the problem to try to make me whole again. I am thankful to him. No apologies from him though. He did not offend me. The other person who identified themself as manager never apologized and I will never forget the rude treatment. On September 21, 2022, my daughter and I took her car to Discount Tire, location 12651 Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064. We took her car, because her low tire pressure warning light had come on, and we both suspected that there might be a leak of air in one of the tires. Discount has earned so much good will over the years, with their free-repair policy. Sometimes repairs were fixed to our complete satisfaction. Other times we understandably had to replace a tire, either because it was unrepairable, or the tire was too worn out. Unfortunately, all of the good will that Discount has built up over the years was lost in our last visit. It started when we got "995 DUSTIN J L" as our Discount Tire representative. We explained the situation, and asked if he could check to see which tire may be leaking to cause the warning, and to see if a nail, or some other road hazard was causing a leak. He proceeded to take a yellow instrument, which I believe to be a tread-depth indicator. After going around to all tires, he proceeded to tell us that the tread depth on all tires was too low to even pull the car into the service bay to check it out. To the naked eye, all of the tires had plenty of tread. Nevertheless, I asked him to give me a quote for four new tires. I then told him that I was going to take the car to Evan's Tire to get a second opinion. I asked Evan's if it looked like the tires needed to be replaced, and the representative for Evan's said, "there is plenty of life left in the tires." They proceeded to pull the car into their service bay, filled the tires to the proper pressure, indicated that the low-pressure indicator may need to be replaced if we continued to have the warning light. My daughter barely scrapes by financially. I hate to think what she would have been talked into at Discount Tire, had I not been with her. It would have been criminal for Discount to take four perfectly good tires, throw them away, and charge her to put four unnecessary tires on. Needless to say, our confidence in Discount Tires has been completely shattered. All of the goodwill built up over the years has evaporated. I came in because I had a low pressure tire warning light come on, they checked the pressure and made the recommendation to get new tires the front tires were low ( 2) I was able to get in and out very quickly. They were busy with phones calls, long line, and their garage was full with cars. But with every guest that came in they acknowledged with a greeting and let them know they would be right with them. They all gave great customer service and Chris Lopez their manager was exceptional. He knew return customers names and made them feel welcome. He made time with each guest to not make them feel rushed, and even was offering to an individual a job opportunity & the benefits of working there. I met the General Manager Gerry Cruz a few years back when he was working at another nearby Discount Tire Store. I needed a set somewhat rare and hard to find sports car tires. Unbelievable, Gerry found them for me at a good price, and had them in the shop the next day. Then, when I wore these out, he did it again! I have had good service from Discount Tire at other stores, but when Gerry takes care of me, it is always special. He recently found me another set of somewhat rare tires. I managed to puncture one of them, took the tire to Gerry, he'll have a replacement tire for me within 24 hours. If you want to work with the best tire guy I have ever met, Gerry is your man. And not forgetting, Discount Tire (America's Tire in some locations) is a very solid business, delivering great products at competitive prices. Also noting, this company promotes from within. Your sales person, in the not too distant past, was out in the garage doing the difficult job of dismounting/mounting and balancing tires. I have been using this company for my tire needs for 25 years and will continue to do so. Lastly, Discount Tire has many sites to choose from, in fact there is a store less than a mile from my home. Danny is awesome. We ordered the tires. One was delayed but Danny was in communication with us the whole time. We showed up at our appointment time and we were helped at the counter immediately. We waited 15 minutes to have it pulled into the bay. They used great car jacking it up instead of using a lift. Top notch service. They were extremely careful and the new tires look great. I had the pleasure of Miguel at the Poway location help me with my vehicle discount tires originally couldn't find the wheel lock for my Mercedes CLA and called me in order to let me know that they could not perform the service. I walked back to discount tires and Miguel greeted me with a kind smile and helped me look through my car until I found the wheel lock in order to service my flat tire. I purchased my new tires from the Mira Mesa location last year and that was a painless process. I was able to do it all online and they called me in when the tires were shipped. I even got a AAA discount. Since then they have sent me email reminders to bring my car back for free tire pressure checks. Anyone can pull up to the side and they will check your tire pressure without even getting out of the car! I recently got an email to come back for my free tire rotation and balance. Yes free! If you purchased your tires from them. I made my appointment online and just came in to have it done. I was in and out quickly! Their waiting room is well kept and clean. They offer to text you when your car is ready if you don't plan on staying. There is window in the waiting area so you watch the guys working on your car. Friendly staff and great service. I was very happy with the service from a start to finish! I haven't any issues with my falcon tires since I got them last year. I will be coming back for next replacement and check ups. read more

This branch used to be the best Discount tire branch in san diego bar none. They used to be able to match their competition, and they were fair and honest when it came to warranties, etc. I walked in as my 85k tires were bald at 60k miles, and the first thing they told me is a lie about how they only have a 4 year warranty.. then they couldn't match their own website.. as the deal is "Online only". Then they finally could match their own website after much back and forth.. then I get home and check the tire website and my tires have 5 year warranty. Great, right? Now I'll go back and they'll do the reasonable thing and fix it like they used to do. Well, I go back and they then make up a new rule and say that you can either pick their online price or the prorated warranty even though the warranty is supposed to just be a credit. Basically, making up nonsense rules as they go. The prorated warranty refund was supposed to be around $100 or so. Not pleased at all. Ridiculous. Of course they tell me all this after the deal period is over, so I am either forced to wait 6 months for another sale somewhere else as july 4th weekend is over, or take it or leave it. I took it, but after 6 sets of tires between my family over the last 10 years, this will be my last time. read more

Stopped by to order tires for my truck on 2 Jan 2024. Provided a very small deposit and left with the understanding that they would have to be ordered and delivered, so no big issue. I was told I would receive a call when they arrived so that I could book an appointment or walk-in. Today is 11 Jan 2024, and I have heard nothing. Sorry, any professional organization would at least keep a customer updated, and to be honest, the tires I need were supposedly in Arizona, so I have a real problem understanding why it would take more than 1-3 days to get them shipped to California. I could/would have gone and picked them up myself for the length of time it has taken. Shipping of the product is not my issue, I understand there are still shipping issues post-pandemic, although it blows my mine why. This said, the fact that I ordered a product more than a week ago and have had no update to that order from this company is unfortunate to say the least. If by tomorrow I have had no call, I will call them and cancel my order and seek procurement elsewhere. Probably back to 4 Wheel Parts up in San Marcos, where I have always bought my tires. This shop is completely moronic. I should've seen the red flag when I first walked in and a customer was completely upset. The employee was setting him at ease stating covid has brought a damper on things. I'll give him that, but you can't blame covid for stupidity. Show up asking for a quote on some tires, I get it ordered and told to drop it off the next morning as the tires will be delivered. Drop it off at 9am and hear nothing untill I call . I call at 4pm to see the status and the guy who helped me out in the morning completely forgot to process my car. From the time I called to check on it to completion was only 1.5 hours till almost closing time. But wait there's more. Guy admits to forgetting, no apology or anything. I'm guessing screw ups are common here. I get my car and I'm told the Trainee broke my tire sensor, but hey they replaced it for free. I can't wait till my wheels fall off in 3 months. Do yourself a favor and go to other tire shops on Poway road. Don't bother with the app as it has 0 connection to the store. That's when the f$$$ ups begin. read more
