UPDATE: Now THIS is how you handle customer service! Shortly after posting my Yelp review, I received a message asking me to reach out. Around the same time, I noticed I had missed a call from a manager. When I called back, there was a little bit of back and forth and some time on hold, but then Mr. George called me directly on my other line. We had a great conversation about everything that happened. He listened, acknowledged the mishaps, understood my frustrations, and most importantly he wanted to make it right. And he did exactly that. I went back to the store, and Mr. George personally made sure my concerns were addressed. Shout out to Mr. George for being a man of his word. Isn't there a saying that all a person really has is their word? Well, Mr. George stood on business and followed through. What really impressed me was seeing leadership in action. I even had to laugh when one of the younger employees told him, "Mr. George, you're going to have to work in the bay!" Without hesitation he replied, "Yes, if I have to, I will." In this instance, he absolutely did what was needed to take care of a customer. Hopefully, I won't need to see Discount Tire anytime soon since I now have four brand-new tires, but because of the way Mr. George handled the situation, I will definitely be back when I do. Had a great experience at this location! They are busy but they work quick. I placed an online order and appointment for tires for the next day, and they had a designated parking spot for me when I arrived. They asked if I wanted to replace one of my wipers and the price wasn't bad so I agreed. They ended up replacing the other one too free of charge! My appointment was at 11 so I was a bit worried when I saw that my car wasn't taken into the shop until 11:30, but they had the tires changed and done in 15 minutes! Since this has been an ongoing issue, I called yesterday and scheduled an appointment to have the tires checked. When I arrived for my appointment, I expected the process to be straightforward since I had called ahead. Unfortunately, the experience left me disappointed. The level of customer service I received made me feel like they were doing me a favor rather than helping a paying customer with a legitimate issue. Visited this afternoon because my rear tire has had a slow leak so I anticipated possibly having to replace the one. Sergio assisted me during my visit and after looking over all 4 tires it looked appeared that I could actually benefit from replacing all of them (if not now then soon). I wasn't financially prepared to do that today, however, Sergio talked me through all my options and actually got it to where I got 4 new tires placed on my vehicle at a price I could afford! They were quite busy but I received a text message that gave me the anticipated completion time and allowed me to check on the status of my vehicle at any time. During my wait I was able to walk over to Walmart, Target and Starbucks for a drink. I really appreciated the excellent customer service provided by Sergio! However, the last two time I have done so it has take over 1 1/2 to get my tires rotated and rebalanced. What is the point of making an apt, it if takes just as long if I were a walk in. While I sit here for a previously undisclosed 2 hour wait I learned a few things about my sales person. He is incredibly good at selling their recommended (highest price) tires without offering anything else unless you say you're gonna walk. He's not quite the parking lot closer but he gets close. All the other sales people foolishly offer the customers options and discounts that might not get the company top dollar. I had to press to get other information on tires to see other options that would work for me. Surprisingly there were options that worked for 500$ less. Then I overheard another sales offer a discount after I already closed and balked at not getting the break. He just turned and walked off. Got my keys back they had the nerve to say they got me out 45 minutes early. Nearly a 3 hour wait time? Had they been honest about that I wouldn't have waited and gone somewhere else. Gilbert, a manager at the Round Rock IKEA Discount Tire location, provided excellent customer service and quality workmanship on the tire balance and rotation today and his team is on point and they work in an organized and efficient manner like a well-greased machine. Twenty-three years ago I moved back to Central Texas and discovered Discount Tire in Killeen, Texas after having a flat and being amazed at how they worked with such care like starting the lug nuts by hand and hand torquing each lug nut to spec. Before Discount Tire, I used to always check my lug nuts after a tire service as occasionally you'd find a loose lug nut missed by the garage attendant, but Discount Tire's quality workmanship eliminates all doubt plus the free balance and rotation is an excellent value as is the Road Hazard Certificates. Usually when I go somewhere for the first time I like to get there early and Discount Tire was no exception. I set a 9am appointment to get 4 brand new tires, I arrived at 8:30, 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment. A few customers were already being attended to and when I got inside I was greeted right away and they took my keys and got to work! To get to the point let's just say my appointment started at 9am yet I got my car back with all 4 brand new tires right as my scheduled appointment was suppose to start! Took a little long for a tire pressure check with no explanation on why it was taking so long. But when the technician checked my tires he told me there was a nail in one of them. I headed inside to get a replacement. The line wait wasn't long and I was checked in with only a short wait. I received a text to tell me how to keep track of the timeframe of my car to be ready! My most recent visit I found myself having to come here during lunch to get my tire checked since the air in my tire was low again after I just put air in it! I normally schedule an appointment when I know I need to be in and out, but I chanced it. When I arrived there were two people in line ahead of me. The line went quick. The advisor let me know they would check the tire out and it will take 35minutes. Well...they got me in and out sooner than that! I was back on the road and leaving in less than 30 minutes. I hate bait and switch sales gimmicks. I called to set an appointment cause I had a flat tire and needed a new one. The guy on the phone said just come in cause they do walk-ins and a reservation isn't needed. So as soon as I come in there's a huge line and I heard them ask people in line if they had an appointment (so I guess they do take appointments). After spending a lot of time to waiting in line, giving the vehicles information, tire selection and price, I'm finally told it over a 4 hour wait! Lead with that! Don't waste people's time. I visited today because there was a tire light on my dashboard that meant a sensor was out. I made an appointment for 10:30. They came to my car and told me their goal was to have me out by 11:45. I am sitting in my car because of immunity issues. David, the person helping me, has been courteous and professional.
