One of the worst Discount tires I've been to. Just stopping at the free air check is awful! You will wait over 30 min, as employees stand doing nothing but staring and laughing your way. About 5 cars stood in line and left in just that 20 minute wait I was there, I could only imaging throughout the whole day. Mind you one of the ladies waiting went in to say something and the response was that they were "too busy." If your employees do not have common courtesy to let the line know they are busy then management needs some work, whether or not the "Free air checks" are first priority. If not, do not offer the service, or learn better costumer service communication skills!!! read more

Drove from Houston, TX to Santa Fe for a short vacation and, on the day after arrival, found a flat tire on the car. I bought the tires on the vehicle, and the road hazard warranty, from Discount Tire in Houston, and the shop in Santa Fe stepped up with no hassle. Fixed the flat (nail in the tire), installed it on the car, and stored the spare - which, in a Chevy Avalanche, is not an easy task. No charge. I dropped off the flat, and returned an hour later. They installed the repaired tire and replaced the spare inside of about 35 minutes. This was at the end of the day, when the shop was quite busy. Very courteous, very professional. Worst experience at Discount Tire in Santa Fe. A a long term client, this is a very disappointing experience. This Santa Fe Store is the winner for the worst tire store in Santa Fe. The use Covid-19 as an excuse for poor service and indifference is just insulting. Seniors are not stupid; they are capable to spot bull shit when they hear it, hearing aid and all. Just in case you don't read, Covid in a respiratory disease it does not make you stupid. After checking in and told that I would be taken-in shortly I waited 45 minutes when I learned that you have to have a "buddy" in the business. Clearly "friends" received a 'special' place in line. Tires are not hard to find and there's nothing special about Discount Tire in Santa F. The use of Covid as an excuse was just plain stupid. Incompetence and indifference is not caused by Covid. Got two new tires put on. They said it'd take about an hour, so I walked up to the mall to pick up a couple things. I got back about half an hour later and my car was already done! Not impressed, I've given my business to these people more times than I'd like. They don't balance my wheels properly and never have my tires in stock. And my tires are fairly common. The biggest beef I have with them is that they didn't honor their own warranty on my wife's tires even though her tires were still well within the allotted replacement window. The manager even said he would take care of it and nothing ever happened. Stay away from them if you value your car. read more

I have to say I'm impressed. I came in hoping to get my tire repaired (which they do for free!), but ended up needing a new set of tires. They gave me a lot of options at every price point. The guy was very helpful and put up with my whining. As I was sitting in the waiting room, I noticed that the technicians were really working with people to get them tires. It was obvious to me that 40% of the people there were really struggling to maintain their car. The guys were kind and understanding to them. As a customer, this was one of the best experiences in my life. Daniel Salas and Discount Tire virtually saved me and my car from disaster. Daniel and his team of experts in the garage salvaged my perfectly good tire using their experience, knowledge and perseverance. Let me explain, I had taken Honda CRV into Honda Dealer for check up and notified them one tire had a slow leak. Without consulting me, Honda ripped a screw out of the tread and put a gum plug in its place! They informed me the leak in my tire was un-repairable (which it now was, virtually un-repairable) and that they would gladly sell me a new tire at $175.00 I knew I could not use just one new tire. (Everything about that is so wrong.) I was hurting... Until I called Discount Tire and told them about my problem on phone - they immediately said - Come over, I am pretty sure we can fix it for you. Daniel and his team of experts went to work on tire, racking removing it 3 times before they could perfectly seal the large hole Honda had created. AND Daniel would accept NO PAYMENT for his good deeds. Of course, I will not let a good deed go unrewarded - else who would I be? - and passed tips around to all who worked on tire. Gladly :) My joy! Now Daniel and I are in talks about future tire solutions. Let me just say, not only did Daniel Salas provide unparallel help, he also offered perfectly transparent advice on tires and pricing and performance and warranties. They had a special line for air checks and the guy came out within minutes to fill up tire and check other three. Couldn't stay but took car back later. Took a bit but they made repair. Have been a Discount Tire customer from about 1988- @ Scottsdale. It has always been a great experience. I usually don't have to visit on a Saturday-- but in spite of how very busy they were, Braden (spell) was most efficient and professional. I had an unexpected flat-- even though the Michelins I had on my car came from Cost Co and not Discount, they still repaired it for free! That was first class service in my book! However, I am a loyal Discount Tire customer-- I've purchased 12 new RV and truck tires from Discount in the last 2-years, and many more before that. These people really CARE about how safe you are on the road. We were driving from AZ to Denver, hoping to make it in time for Grandma's 90th birthday dinner. We got a nail in the tire, and didn't feel it would be wise to go speeding 80mph with the risk of blowout! They made room for us right away, pulled the nail and patched the tire while I went and got some to-go food at the excellent restaurant nextdoor (Flying Tortilla!). They sent us on our way, at no charge! Of course, we will be back when it is time to get a new set of tires, I think that's called a karmic cycle. read more

I am very satisfied with the service I was given by Ralph yesterday. I got a flat while passing through Santa Fe on a Sunday (they were closed). Therefore I had to come home to Albuquerque without my car. The next morning I called and spoke to Ralph. He made every part of my experience simple and easy. I was able to do business with him over the phone and have everything ready to go when I got back into Santa Fe on Monday morning. The service was perfect and he even had his men travel down to Albuquerque to get me the tires I needed for my car. I do not live in Santa Fe, but I am willing to continue to purchase tires in Santa Fe for the fact they gave amazing service! I just have to leave a review for Discount Tire, and especially, Chris, who helped me today. I had low pressure in one tire for several weeks, and had been topping it off every few days at the gas station. Two weeks ago, I went to Firestone (only because it is closest to my home) to get the tire checked and patched. They told me that they had removed a screw and patched the tire, and they charged me $30. A few days later, the tire pressure alert came on again. I figured the leak must be serious, and I didn't want to mess around with a compromised tire. I called Discount Tire, and ordered a tire. When it was in stock, I made an appointment to have the tire changed. Today, I took the car in to have the new tire put on. My tires are brand new, and presumably under warranty, but I didn't have my warranty paperwork with me. Chris said, "No problem, we can give you a little discount even without your paperwork." What?? Great! They began working on the car. A few minutes later, he came out to the waiting room (which is very nice, with comfortable chairs, magazines, bottled water, coffee and even dog treats) carrying the tire. He said, "You said you had this patched a couple of weeks ago?" I replied that I had, and he proceeded to show me the screw, still in the tire. "There's no patch on this tire. Are you sure you had it fixed? You don't need a new tire. We can fix this and I will give you a full refund on the tire you ordered." WHAT???? WOW! A few minutes later, my car was ready. "What do I owe you for the repair?" "Nothing. It's free. And you can come in every 6000 miles for a free tire rotation, too." I have not experienced service like this in a long time. If I could give this company zero stars I would. I have been going to them for awhile now and they used to be good but the past couple of years they have done an awful job. About a year ago I went into the store with a flat tire hoping to get it fixed since I had a warranty on my tires. They told me that it was time to get new tires anyways so I had scraped up enough money to buy some. I had a part time job that only paid me $150 every paycheck so I couldn't afford the best ones. This past month, I noticed something was wrong with them since my car would vibrate on the highway. It turns out they were cupping. I took them in to get looked at since it has not been a year yet since I bought them and they refused to honor the warranty I had on them. What was the point in selling me the warranty if they wouldn't honor it? Plus they have broken my door handle on the passenger side twice now and refuse to fix that as well claiming it was my fault when I would go pick up my car and the door handle would be hanging right off. I will never be going back to them again. read more

I have been a customer of discount tires since they started(30 years or so) and in the past I was pretty well off(income almost half million yearly, very large home, etc. ) so I would come in and ask for four michelins and they were great. I didn't even ask about price as I could afford anything and I knew the folks at Discount Tire would give me the best competitive price.However, a horrible divorce set me back a lot and my ex wife went nuts and began giving assets away and seemed to have no concept of value. With her new adulterous Boyfriend(while still married of course), she embezzled 75K from a company who had sent a mistaken check to one of our companies. The 75 K lasted them a couple of months. I eventually learned all when I was deposed by the company attorney trying to regain the money.She had hidden it from me. So much for the marriage! She did her best to ensure that my reputation was harmed and I had great difficulty making income after she complained many times at the State licensing offices. The best thing about biblical law is the stoning of the adulterous wife! Timing is needed now (after my social security check for example) and the tires are kept beyond when they should be changed and I have to watch my pennies. I am still paying child support from my soc sec check., So I had a tire going flat and came to this discount tire store. The tire was begining to show steel belts and they wouldn't fix it, but I MENTIONED(this is important as I didn't want to make a big deal of it) my financial plight and they just gave me a used michelin they had around(looked in very good shape---maybe 5-10 K miles) because the other was unsafe and seeing the other front tire(equally bad) they said if I came back with $40 dollars, I could have the "mate" of the Michelin. I did and it was even better. They said my safety is a prime concern. Frankly I had been " sold" previously, but their compassion and concern for me and my safety was overwhelmingly good!!! This was one of my recent great experiences. If you need a tire, go, go and go. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. these are good compassionate and real people. Someday I am convinced I will have a great deal of money again(remember JOB in the BIBLE) but no amount will keep me from Discount Tires! read more

I bought two tires for my vehicle. No one bothered to inform me that the vehicle might perform poorly. After driving off, the vehicle was very unsteady. I was told that I should buy two additional tires to correct the problem. Not only did I have to drive an unsafe vehicle, but I really should have been made aware of this possibility before driving off. Communication is poor at best, but they really seem indifferent. THE WORST service I have ever had. I had been a Discount Tire customer for at least 15 years. Time to move on. read more

I have never written a yelp review before, but the service I got today deserves one. I'd made an appointment at this location to get a set of Hankook all-terrain tires for my truck. When I arrived, the salesperson steered me toward a set of Coopers that he said was slightly better, and normally would have been more expensive, but because of the current rebate actually would have saved me money. I hesitated, but went with his advice. Ten minutes later, he came back and said that they had an "inventory issue" with the Coopers and didn't have enough of them in stock. So - rather than let me go back to the Hankooks - he offered to give me a set of top-of-the-line BFGs for the same price the Coopers would have been after the rebate - which amounted to knocking off about $150 from the regular price of the BFGs. Plus, they had a used tire in near-new condition with which they replaced my wrong-sized spare, for only $35. The tires are great, the deal was great, the service was great. I'll definitely be going back. read more
