Made an appt and took my car in because my sensor kept showing low tire pressure in my left tires. I could see a nail in the middle of the back tire. Dropped car off and received a call about 30 minutes later stating that the front tire was fine, but back tire needed to be replaced because it was worn on the inside. These tires are a year and a half old, bought at discount tire in November of 2018. He offered my a $30 discount on a new tire. I found this to be unacceptable so I went to the store and talked to German (Shenandoah store in Texas). He told me that they would not patch the tire and there was no warranty. These tires cost over $2000, how do they not come with any kind of warranty. He even went as far as to say that if they had a warranty, it would be voided due to the worn tread (once again, fairly new tires and all have acceptable tread). He stated all I could do was replace it. I questioned why it couldn't be patched, as the nail was no where near the "worn tread". He just said no. I told him to remove my car from the bay, as I would be getting a 2nd opinion. He threw my keys at me and told me to remove it myself. I didn't think customers were allowed in the bay and was shocked at this aggressiveness. This is the 3rd set of tires I've purchased from Discount Tire for this specific vehicle. I also purchased 2 other sets for my husband and my son's vehicles. This customer service was atrocious and I will NOT be buying from Discount Tire again, even though we have the Synchrony credit card just for this business. I took my car to another business and they patched/plugged it with no problem. Shame on you for trying to take advantage of a woman just to make money. read more

Terrible management BEWARE!! I came here to get my tires rotated and get my air pressure checked I was watching the guy work on my car and I saw him take both tires off and put the same ones on the front that came off the front, and the same back tires on the back. When he finished I asked the guy if he marked the tires before he took them off? He said "no just memorized it" and I said "I watch you take the same one from the front and put it back on the front and same one from the back and put it on the back". I asked for the manager and told him the same thing and he said "you watch him the whole time?" and I said "yes I did, I could see him because there was not a car blocking my view." He looked at me like I was full of it. I said "I know what I saw" and then he called over the tech who was working on my car and asked him if he put the tire from the front on the front and of course the tech said no I rotated them, and I said "I watched you they were not rotated they were put on the same side that they came from" I told the guy "I know what I saw" then he said " I can change it back". "Back? The tires weren't changed so how are you going to change it back when it was never done in the first place?" it's like the manager never believe me. I told him "no I don't want you to touch my car I don't trust you guys anymore I'm going to leave" he did not say sorry not say bye thank you for coming or anything, I got in my car and left. I have spent over $800 for tires that I purchased from this discount tire and this is how they treat paying customers. The manager was basically calling me a liar. Why would I make that up? If I came to have my tires rotated why would I want them rotated back? I will never buy from discount tire again. read more

Bought tires online from the Discount Tire website. They were ready the next day. Made an online appointment to have them installed and was in and out in less than 25 minutes. The guys were running between the service bay and parking lot to bring in the next vehicle. read more

Absolutely worst Discount Tire ever! I was told it would be an hour and a half. After much time going by and people who came after me were getting called and leaving, I'm still sitting there. The waiting area is a sauna it's so hot in there with the sun beating on the glass and the music blaring. I walked up to find if my car was done. They never called me and I sat there and HOUR AND 10 MINUTES past my car being done! Are you freaking serious? Completely inept! No one ever called for me. read more

Made an appointment to get a tire repaired that had a small nail puncture. If there was any benefit in making an appointment it wasn't obvious. After waiting for about 40 minutes, I was informed they couldn't repair the tire. The nail was small, in the middle of the tire and the tires were barely a year old. After some discussion, the sales person offered to put the spare on at no cost and send me on my way. An obvious pressure tactic to sell a couple of tires. I opted to buy the two tires and when I asked to see the old tire they told me they were about close and It would take some time and I'd have to come back. This same issue happened at another location two years ago with my other car. If you want to be sold tires, stop by...if you want a tire repaired consider going elsewhere. For a tire balance and rotation, it was an hour and 45 minute wait. I wasn't notified of this until I was there for over an hour. While waiting, they did one truck, and F150, which sat there for 20 minutes, until they told the owner that her vehicle was ready. The next car they took in was an equinox, it took him 25 minutes to check all tires air, then he jacked up one side, took a break to talk to the other guys, do 10 push ups. So I went to ask, how come it's taking so long. He told me that it's an hour 45 min wait. I asked why the equinox was sitting there with no one working on it, he replied that they were working on the wrong car..... huh?!?!?! A tire balance and rotation should never take over 30 minutes! This was my first and last trip to this particular Discount Tire, if not all Discount Tire locations for the foreseeable future. I showed up at 11 AM in need of a tire rotation and balancing as my truck tends to shake just slightly since having 4 tires installed at the Huntsville, TX Discount Tire location a few months back. When I entered the building there were 2 gentlemen in line in front of me. Naturally, I find my place in line and just hang out while waiting on assistance. After about 12-15 minutes in line and no acknowledgement by any of the employees other than a brief "we'll be right with you" by an employee on his way out the door, the first gentleman in line left. About 10 minutes later the lone gentleman remaining ahead of me in line was finally assisted. After explaining to the employee that he'd been in line for 25 minutes, the employee replied with "we can't help it we're busy. You have to wait in line at a doctor's office too." I was absolutely taken aback by the employees reply. I think everyone expects a wait of some sort when arriving at a doctors office or when they're having work performed on their car, but the key difference here seems to be the customer service. The 1st thing that happens when I arrive at a doctors office is usually signing in and not standing in line for 20+ minutes before receiving any kind of assistance. Eventually I was assisted at the counter and was informed that it was going to take 2+ hours for a simple tire rotation. It took me 25 minutes of standing in line for someone to inform me that there was going to be a 2 hour wait for a tire rotation. Had I been informed of that 20 minutes ago, I likely wouldn't have felt the need to write this review. Tl;dr - Discount Tire needs an employee whose sole job responsibility is to check in customers when they arrive. In 2017, it's absolutely inexcusable to have customers standing around for the better part of a half hour with no assistance whatsoever. read more

I went to get new tires for my SantaFe and the sales person Mr Matthew J Lanmon, just to keep me and not leave, insisted on some Yokohama tires with some discounts. At the same time since I was short on time, I tried to schedule an appointment for Saturday but he insisted to stay and get me out of there before 2:45pm. I decided to go forward but by 2:30 PM my car was still sitting in the parking. I had to ask for my keys, mu lock and to be honest that made me so angry when snake oil sales guys try to keep you as customer just to make their quota or commissions. I had to ask to forget about the tires and I decided to find them somewhere else. Plus, a month prior that I got Hankook tires for another car, and this sales guy start trashing them when a month before another sales guy talked beauties of them. Really a very unprofessional place to go. They are more concern like car dealers how to keep you there, not to leave. read more

Here's my simple review: bought my tires. Waiting about 40 minutes to get them put on (still here). An employee (manager?) walks around the whole waiting area and asked everyone how they were doing and if they wanted some water or coffee. I said yes. He walked over and grabbed me a bottle. I guess I did not learn the first time I posted a review! My warning light came on indicating I had a tire problem. Since we were traveling out of town in a couple of days, I dropped the car off to ensure I had not picked up a nail. I asked them to check each tire. Picked it up a couple of hours later and was told they found nothing but they did inflate the tires. Next day the warning light came on again so we returned to Discount Tire. We were told that tire sensors go out after 7-8 years and it is best to replace them for $200. Since we would be traveling, we could not take the chance and told them to proceed. Picked up the car later and found the light did not come on so we felt the problem was solved. Headed out the next day for our trip and found a terrible vibration in the steering wheel and front end. My car was trying to beat me up! Stopped at Discount Tire in Humble. Thank goodness they took us without question. We learned the Shenandoah store did not balance and realign the tires after they took them off! That was to he cause of the vibration. There is no way we could have traveled through several states in that condition. After reading the other reviews, we will not return to this store. We will head north to the store in Conroe instead. read more

When my husband walked in the door were greeted promptly by the store manger as the rest of the staff were busy. While we were waiting to be helped another employee walked in and introduced himself as Nathaniel and promptly helped us. He was not pushy or rude. We told him exactly what we wanted and he gave us the best options available to us. He even stepped aside so we could discuss it and ended up getting the tires from him. He was honest right up front no hidden fees. The young lady that mounted the tires Adrienne was totally awesome and efficient. As we watched her work to ensure that the tires were done properly she checked for the proper tire pressure and the torque spec for my vehicle which was very refreshing. The entire staff was very friendly and they made the experience easy as we had been looking at tires and deals for 2 weeks now we were hesitant to go with discount tire due to a previous experience we had elsewhere but decided what have we got to lose so we gave it another go glad we my tires made the difference on my suv. No regards for Customer's time.....I called ahead to get my tires checkout. I was promised that it will take an hour. I reached there on time and confirmed again before handing them the keys. But after waiting for 45 minutes my car was still unattended. When I asked for status they said we can't work it in. I am never going there again! read more

The service at this store is terrible. Long wait times, varying policies dependent on who you are. I spent nearly an hour either waiting in line or being waited on and eventually had to leave because they could not find the tires. Issues in the past include waiting in line for 30 minutes for tire air service, then when it was my turn, told they were suspending the service for 15 minutes while they did other things. It was 30, not 15 minutes. Another time a customer jumped the line from the back to the next available representative, and when I objected was told it was because the person had an appointment, yet the next time I was in, with an appt I was told I had to wait my turn, there was not a policy of jumping the line. Another time I was told there was no indication of damage to my low tire, and three days later they found 2 nails in it. As I said, terrible service, but good products. read more

Word to the wise. Be sure and make an appointment. I walked in at 11:15am needing a balance and rotation. The salesman said it would be about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. I decided I could wait, since I needed the service to the tires About 1:00pm my van had still not moved, I checked with another salesman as the to status and he said there was one walk-in ahead of me and an appointment. It would be another 45 minutes until they could get to my van. I couldn't waste any more time waiting so I left without getting the service I needed. I would have been nice to have them update my status at some point instead of me checking quite a while after the time I was given to receive service. I consider this sub-standard service. I will not take my car to the Discount Tire Shenandoah, TX location ever again. HORRIBLE!!! I brought my car in for 2 new tires on June 11, 2016 and after $450 and an hour and a half wait, when I was told service was complete, I asked if all was checked and good. The service technician assured me the 2 new tires had been installed, all tires were rotated and balanced and the car was ready to go. The next week (June 15), my tire pressure gauge light came on. Upon taking my car back to this location, my son was not treated with any respect nor was I when I spoke with the manager on the phone. After another hour or so, my son was told the service technician(s) (from the new tire installment) had left a weight (sp) on the tire which was causing the tire to lose air. Was again assured the issue had been repaired. The very next week, again, the tire pressure gauge light came on and back to this location my son went (June 22). This time he was told the stem on the tire was corroded and needed to be replaced - this was causing the air to leak. Assured, AGAIN, everything was repaired. July 5, my boys and I went on a trip to Louisiana and I noticed my car was driving horribly... wobbly, all over the road, very hard to keep under control and it seemed the faster I went, the harder it was to control. Upon arrival to our destination, I asked my father about what it could be. He said it sounded like the tires were out of balance. We immediately took my car the the local tire place (Discount Tire not in this location) to have it checked out. Sure enough, the tires on my car were out of balance... to the tune of 1.8 ounces!!! After paying this location $60, my tires were finally balanced and my car was driving normally again. I cannot say how disappointed and angry I am after taking my car to Discount Tire, paying $450 for two new tires, and then taking it back TWO additional times and being assured TWO additional times everything was 'good to go' I then had to take it to a different tire vendor, pay an additional $60 to have the work done correctly. UNACCEPTABLE all the way around. How was this missed on all THREE occasions? Technicians were servicing my tires and none caught the issues - NOT ONCE. At the very least, I'd like my account credited $60 for having to have my tires balanced at a different company after being told Discount Tire had 'taken care of it'. This is not what I call service and for the amount of money I have spent at this location since 2012, I'm not feeling like a customer who is appreciated. read more

I agree with Jim just go a little north or south and the level of customer care will jump by about 5 stars! I get better service at the one on Aldine Westfield even...only plus is Hooters is right across the street so while you wait( which will be at least an hour and a half) you can actually have a good lunch..the only time I have received great service at this location the district manager was there that day however their prices are much higher than the other areas locations as well! Not a satisfied customer I had a total blow out and needed something inexpensive as I am not planning to keep my car much longer. I am a long time discount tire customer and have always been given more than one or two price point options whether I want one tire or four; I was told here all I could get was a new $200 tire for my vehicle that day..they didn"t offer to call atound other stores etc...I got a used tire when this happened to me a few months back at the rayford sawdust location for $50 so I was a bit shocked that tjat was "the best they could do" I came back to complain the next day and I think the only reason they bought back the new tire/gave me what I wanted was because the "big boss" was there!
