My tires had about 20,000 miles left of wear and were balding. I went in after the oil change revealed the issue and wasn't pleased with the Certificate Replacement program for the first time in years. I felt like I wasn't given a reasonable deal and had my husband meet me after work. The next person explained everything to us this time, but still were very high for tires that weren't as good. Have been using this location (and Buss.)!for many years & can fairly call out that the customer service level continues to decline. Aside from improper air pressure (per tire!), missing valve stem caps, this last experience included no "rotation & balance" that was requested on the appointment & discussed in person. I guess the replacement of a tire was a complete distraction. After 3 consecutive trips this wk, Sales rep summed up all my explained misshapes (not all listed here) with... "they are human". So I actually had a really good experience at this location and had the pleasure of being assisted by Augustine. Not only did he not try and upsell me or buy anything I didn't need, but you could tell he genuinely cares about people and that they have a great experience. I came in for a tire rotation and a new tpms sensor and discount tire was actually cheaper than Costco. They keep their waiting area very clean and the staff genuinely listens to your concerns. As many times as I've gone to the Conroe location there is always something there that they do to try and get more money out of me. This location and Augustine did not do that. I will definitely be back and return to this location. read more

This is an example of how professionalism and understanding goes a long way. We had taken our car to get new tires and there was a mishap with the rims being damaged. Chris originally stepped up to take care of the issue and did what he could to resolve the issue. But after we returned home, my husband noticed that another trip back to the shop was in order due to weights being placed incorrectly and the too many weights being placed on the tires. Unfortunately, it was after closing so we would have to go early in the morning. I admit after getting off at 6am from working my last of many 12 hour shifts, I wasn't too thrilled about this and started off very agitated. Luckily there was another young man named Alex who didn't take it personally and took care of us right away. Writing this review as my car is being worked on, and I usually wait h till after everything is completed, but I've been here before... Main thing that struck me is the AWESOME customer service. The little touches like the guy from the garage coming inside just to let me know hey started on it and giving a time estimate. Often you have a car worked on or tires put on, the cars in the garage bay but you never know what stage they're at, if they've started or not etc. I certainly appreciate the extra communication! Pricing is pretty decent here, tires are like a lot of things, shop around for a good deal. They do price match as well, and if they don't have it in stock, typically they can get it same day or just within a day or so. German helped me find an affordable set of tires and stylish rims for my son's car that made him happy. The crew jumped on it right away and had us on our way in 20 minutes! Update: bought a second set of tires in less than a week for my other son's car because he lost his job due to the Coronavirus. Started delivering food, so needed to make sure his tires were good. The last experience I had with Discount Tire was the store just a little up the freeway in Conroe. That was a 5 star experience. This one was not. I had an appointment for 10:45 AM and arrived a little early (10:40). I didn't get to the counter though until 11:00 as they handled walk-ins. I was then informed that there were a 10:00 and a 10:30 appointment in front of me so my wait would be at least an hour. What good was the appointment? I watched as at least six vehicles went ahead of me and grew more and more concerned. My advice is to skip this place and drive a few more miles North to Conroe. On my last visit there, the tires were down and waiting for me when I arrived and I was out in 20 minutes - the same amount of time I waited in line to be greeted at the Shenandoah store. It appears all Discount Tire Stores are not equal. read more

I came to get the air on one of tires fixed. It was a brand new tire I just had put on at another discount but it was so low I knew I had a nail in it. I just didn't have time to wait for it to be fixed so I just wanted air filled and I'd have it fixed another day. When Israel at the Shenandoah location saw how low my tire was he said if you have 10 minutes I can fix it for you right now. I think he knew by the look on my face I was in disbelief and he said again I promise 10 minutes. And man he wasn't kidding. He had my tire off, fixed, and back on in 15 minutes flat. I took my car in yesterday to replace a defective tire I recently bought from them. They wouldn't listen to me and told me it was due to an alignment. It's been aligned and is within spec. They also told me I could have hit a pothole. They tried and tried to confuse the issue to keep from replacing the tire. They wanted to rotate the old tires on one side of the car, said it was my car even though it is aligned, which by the way, drove straight before I bought one new tire. I spoke with JR, such a foolish man. This guy is pretty useless. He told me he could rotate the old tires for me. The tires were rotated at another location two days beforehand. He knew this but still wanted to rotate my tires. I asked him if he thought that would help and he said no. That makes two of us. Why is he wasting my time offering solutions that won't work? Because I'm a woman? Because he thinks doing something, even though its useless, will fool me? Another man tried to tell me it was a bad alignment. "Sometimes they don't check everything when it's aligned". My husband was a tire salesman. I'm not some dumb woman. I know how to read alignment specs. It doesn't take a genius to know that if the car pulls when the newly replaced tire is in the front, but doesn't when it's in back, then it's a defective tire. Bottom line. My husband says they are ridiculous and complete idiots. My husband is calling your area manager. Buy at another location, this one isn't worth giving business. I came in to Discount Tire with a low tire warning on my dash. The person I talked to was very pleasant and wrote up a work order to check the tires and the spare, and rotate the tires. I explained this was important because I was driving out of town in a few days. An hour and a half later, a different person said my car was ready, and handed me the keys. I asked about the tires, and he said nothing was done about the tires and no notes were made on the work sheet. After checking with the people who did the work, he said my back tire had a screw stuck in it, but they had not checked the spare. He became very rude when I asked why they had not done the work. He said the person in charge was a "fool" and an "idiot." He did not offer to do anything to correct the problem. So, Discount Tire almost sent me away with a screw in my tire and did not do the other work requested. They refunded my money, and I took my car to the dealer. read more

This was perhaps one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any dealer. I called in advance to set up an appointment to have my tires rotated and balanced. When I arrived I paid for the service (68.00) and went across the street to eat lunch. As I was watching out the window I noticed the technicians rotating the tires without balancing them. I called them on the phone and told them what was going on. I was told "one of the tires was not worth balancing". They did pull the tires back off and balanced them. When I went back to the counter to get the keys I commented on the actions. The response? "Oops. Sorry about that". Most definitely lost my trust and business. read more

We purchased on line that day and then when we arrived to get tires installed he had no recollection of discussing the rebates with us at all. Steve's behavior was less than polite too. It's a rare thing to find a car maintenance shop where you don't feel like you are getting ripped off and this Discount Tire shop does a good job of taking care of customers by providing just what they need at a decent price. The story: I had previously purchased two new tires for this car a year ago and purchased their additional warranty for $11 a tire. Last week, one of the two tires had blown out, the other had significant wear damage, while the older tires that were not purchased here were almost bald. I brought the car back to this place and they replaced the blowout for free (because of the warranty), gave a sizable credit for the worn down tire (because of the warranty) and gave me a great deal on two new tires. The service personnel at this location were very knowledgeable and kept the hard pressing upsell to a minimum as I knew exactly what tires the car needed although I intentionally did not lead on to that fact. Over the course of five years I have put tires on three different vehicles with this location and will continue to do so for as long as I live in the Woodlands area. Side note: They are located across the street from a Hooters, which is always a nicer place to wait. Pros: Excellent service, brand name & lesser brand tires, a great warranty program with no questions asked, walking distance to Hooters. Cons: Can be pretty busy on the weekends read more

I purchased tires via Tire Rack for installation at this Discount Tire location. The staff was amazing- so customer focused and friendly. I received a call 20 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment to confirm that I was still able to come in and I was asked what color my was. When I arrived, the lady that called me directed me to the bay that my car would be worked on. She knew who I was because she saw my blue vehicle. I had an early morning appointment and all 4 tires were replaced in about 20 minutes. A young man who had worked on my vehicle, let me know when the work was done, gave a registration form that I could complete on paper or online so that the tire company would be able to notify me of any recalls. Then he pulled my car up to the front door. What a great experience! read more

I have used two Discount Tires, one in Bakersfield, California, and this one. I blew out a tire on the freeway, literally right in front of them, and was put off that they wouldn't send someone to help me...but, I was just pissed. In hindsight, that was too much of an expectation and they were right not to send anyone across the road to help! Now, with that being said, once the tow truck got me there, the tech Garth went well above and beyond expectations. At the same time as my tire blew, the battery died in the car. The guy took care of it for me, and helped me get a ride from one of the other kats that worked there, and I wish I remembered his name! They both did a fantastic job, and set an example of taking care of the customer beyond expectations. I came in extremely stressed out. I had a rental car with a tire that was going flat. About 15 minutes after getting the car, the PSI warning came on and I stopped at a gas station filling it up with air thinking it was due to the freezing temperatures. The next day, the tire dropped extremely low to the point it was not drive-able. I pulled into the discount tires and dealt with Clayton and received great customer service. He reassured me the entire process. After removing the tire, they noticed that the spot the tire was leaking from already had an old mark which means the rental company already knew the tire was bad (yep!). Clayton brought the tire to show me this and made sure I would not be held responsible. He even offered to go above and beyond to call the company as a witness. A+ service. read more

I had a very good experience here after running over a nail. They are doing curbside service due to Covid-19, so I never had to leave my car. They patched my tire (for free!) while I was still in the car--yes, it was a little strange when they jacked it up--but it meant I didn't have to go inside. Discount does not disclose to customers that they do not handle wheel alignment even when installing new tires (which may have cost well over $1,000). You must pay another service vendor an additional fee for this every time it needs doing. My pricey replacement tires lasted only half as long as they should have because, by Discount's own admission, the wheels weren't aligned and the tires wore horribly and must be replaced. They will not adjust this cost. They should disclose this conspicuously or change their practices. This is misleading by omission at a consumer level of sophistication. read more

These guys have no clue about customer service. I went to this store to buy 4 Michelin tires for my van as I was standing in there I noticed at least 3 people at the counter. What really messed me up was when the next customer when to the counter the guy at the counter told him to move over because he don't want no one to think he was helping him. The only problem was how rude he was to that customer. That was the worst I've seen!!! The customer walked out.... When it got to my turn I ask for Michelin 225/75R16, he said he had 4 in stock at $204.00 each I in return said Pep Boys had them for $179.99 each. He told me about another tire. Really!!!! Had a flat result from running over a piece of metal. Pulled into this shop before the 8:00 am opening. Amazing service. Gray met me, identified the problem and in my opinion is at the top of professionalism. He was polite, knowledgeable, and presented options to consider as related to the status of the damage and wear of my tires. As they say, "business in business" but Gray's presentation transcended what might be thought of as a sales pitch to be a very factual presentation that spoke to my concerns for safety. We have used Discount Tire at other locations for our tire needs/service but have never seen this level of professionalism and service. I was in and out with two new tires ( including a significant discount for wear on the tires) in less than an hour. Upon leaving the level of outstanding service was continued with Jim updating me on the service, completed the paper work, and wished me a good day!! Don't get me wrong I love discount tire and the service they provide! I've been a loyal customer for a long time now. This is the 1st discount tire I've been to in this location and it was not bad at all with the exception of one employee (Zack). I went there for a service and it was done quickly with no issues until I went in to retrieve my vehicle. This employee of yours needs some special attention and retraining. Absolutely rude and unprofessional when I walked up to him concerning my vehicle. I'm sure I wasn't the only one he has done this to. His attitude towards customers is so unprofessional as if we owe him a favor after the service. I hope this gets dealt with swiftly... read more

WOW!!! Do you want great customer CARE and service? Go see GERMAN and his fantastic team in SHENANDOAH TX. I have an OLD pickup that needed a couple of tires. The team at Discount Tire worked quickly and had me back on the road quickly. I asked them to check my spare tire and replace one of my tires that they were removing as a spare. I have a strange FORDs better idea way of removing it and Discount couldn't help me. After checking with the great guys at Gullo Ford in Conroe, I went back to German and he got my spare changed with a smile.
