Today, I got a flat tire on the highway. I changed to the "donut" tire and drove straight to the nearest Discount Tire location, which happened to be in Sherman, TX. It was crazy HOT outside, like 103 (without the heat index), that I almost passed out! Discount Tire was swamped, but I had to wait, as I was too far from home! I was warmly greeted, checked in, offered cold water, and waited (not long). I appreciate your team's patience and understanding during such a busy time. Trey was the tech who assisted me and made me feel like he cared. He explained the process and possible outcomes (depending on the severity of the flat) and then went to evaluate. When he returned, he kindly shared options and didn't try to "push" me into expensive tires; I greatly appreciated that! We found a good resolution, and I (and my three grandchildren) were on our way in no time. I had cooled down and smiled as I headed out the door. I booked an appointment for only a tire rotation at 4:30pm I showed up 10 min early and just checked in. Then I was told I had to wait an HOUR FOR APPOINTMENTS. Which makes no sense then what's the point of making an appointment. Then a hour passes by then my car finally pulls up to the bay and the manager (Marshall) walks in and is telling the employees that my car wasn't even supposed to be brought in and if it wasn't accidentally brought in I definitely would have STAYED EVEN LONGER. And all this waiting while by appointment by the way, for 10 minutes of work at most and then I was done. Because they accidentally brought my car in. Let me talk about tires, I know nothing about. We have always used Discount Tire in Waxahachie, Texas. But since Covid we have been staying at our lake home in Oklahoma. So we called to make an appointment but the tires we needed they only had 3 in stock at this Sherman, Texas location. The employee assured my husband he would have the additional tire there the next morning. And to our surprise the tire arrived. So all I know is I have another new set of Goodyear Eagle GT low profile tires, and they look awesome on my car. The other thing I know is they are very professional, and value their customers. My daughter brought her car in to have 2 new tires put on and on the corner where her tire was place something was dropped on her windshield and broke the glass. They of course denied any responsibility. She was the last there so they left after handing her the keys. She noticed as soon as she got in her car and tried to find someone to tell them. I called first thing the next morning and all has been denied based on they didn't replace windshield blades. Take pictures and videos before you decide to leave your car for service!!!!! read more

Today is February 15th my husband and went to Winstar for Valentines day as we pulled into casino we hit a curb and flattened our tire The closest discount tire or any open shop was in Sherman Texas. I called at 1is to confirm they had our tire Called back at 230 and was told they were going to close at 3.I asked Omar could they please wait on us after we driving on a donut in the snow for 45 miles. I've been a patron of this store for 12 years and four cars now, but no more. My last 3 visits have been less than satisfactory. Today was my last visit. Their customer service is appalling. They do not listen to why I am in there, they simply try to convince me that I need to replace my tires. They no longer provide customer service out front, but rather a sales team. While I sat and waited for 2 hours for them to perform a simple warranty service, I saw how they used the same manipulative "tire safety" sales pitch to others. No thank you. Wait was the normal wait. It was ok. They took care of my tire. While I waited in the waiting area, I watched the "cleaning" crew. They mopped the floor before cleaning it at all. No sweeping, or anything. Looks like they've NEVER swept. There was so much trash, dirt, hair, etc You name it, it was on that floor. Disgusting!! I guess they get paid regardless. I let them know the day I would be in but not the time due to patient scheduling. I waited 2 1/2 hours. If I had known to schedule an appointment or wait three hours I would have. I've been buying tires here for more than 20 years but they are getting so busy you may have to wait for an hour are longer. I purchased several sets of their ATV tires for my RAM trucks. If you're driving on the highway they are fine. If you occasionally drive on rock roads as I do their tires are prone to frequent punctures and long waits at the stores for repairs. They usually replace the tire which then means you are driving on different size tires due to tread wear. So much for ATV in their tires. I'm 72 and drove on a lot of rock roads when I was younger. Seems as though the quality of tires have diminished over the years. I think I'll try a different brand and store next time. read more

I have done business with Discount Tire for years but no more. I took my car in two times telling them something was wrong with one of my tires. Both times they told me the tires were fine and if I continued to have the problem, take the car to a repair shop for a front end alignment. I was still having the problem so I took my car into the shop for a front end alignment and was told that wasn't the problem. The problem was one of the tires had a separated belt. The staff was polite; however, I bought 1 tire 4/1/16, 1 tire 4/29/16, and 2 tires 6/14/16. I have gone less than 20,000 miles on the last two tires and they have a 40,000 mile warranty. I went in because the tires are already bald and they will only give me $35 each on the two back tires, nothing on the front. Are you kidding?! Less than half the mileage and barely 6 months old?! I gave up on this place. I have purchased tires there before, but the goal seems to be get as much business stacked up as possible, etc. It looks like it takes hours, etc., to get a tire put on. There are lots of other tire shops where there is no wait, and I have used them, so I know that they work out great. I've bought tires here more than once. But I did not with my last set because they were a better deal elsewhere. I did go there a couple of times when my tire pressure light came on, though. Little did I know they were over inflating my tires. I got 15,000 miles out of a set of tires which should have lasted at the very least 25,000. They wore out in the middle, not on the edges but have to be replaced nonetheless. I will NEVER go there again.....not for tires!.......not for air!!! He was so nice and told us that he had the tire we needed in stock and told us that he would get the tire for us as quickly as possible so that we could get back to our boat on the side of the road!! But, I show up at 7:56 am they open at 8:00 am I was third in line everyone before and after me has come and gone it's not 9:05 am and it was till I said something that my patrol car moved. I am not asking for special treatment, but I am on the clock. My gosh seriously an hour and five minutes until my patrol car comes in for 1 tire replacement that's it. I stopped by just to ask if they had the tire caps that screw on where you fill it up with air since I was missing a couple. Marcos immediately helped me by telling me I could pull my car to one of the bays and filled up my tires and replaced the caps for free. But as I was leaving, my car wouldn't start. He had Josh (I think that was his name), another employee jump off my car. This is all something they didn't have to do but they took the time to help me out and I am grateful! There were even a couple of other guys who helped out too. They even recommended I take it in to see if I have a dead battery or alternator. Turns out my alternator is bad so I'm getting that taken care of but bottom line: They were all fantastic.
