I have been pondering new and economical all weather tires for awhile after service appointments with my long time Toyota dealership. I have previously purchased tires from Factory Tire Sales in Edmonds, then switched to tire purchase and service from Les Schwab in North Seattle until that site permanently closed. I looked into quotes from Les Schwab in Shoreline and Edmonds, and also did not pursue service from Costco in Shoreline. I received strong recommendations from family and friends, plus looked into Yelp reviews that had me give Discount Tire in Shoreline serious consideration. I received decent customer service info and their website helped me with information, selection, subsequent purchase and scheduling. I was even squeezed in a day ahead of schedule and the tire installation was completed within 20 minutes! I was still eating my breakfast sandwich in their waiting area. The overall experience provided accurate information and decent selection for one's budget. I was able to set up an online account, compare tires for features and cost, and set up my appointment. Customer service received via telephone and onsite were efficient and professional. The installation team were thorough and even brought my car and keys right by the entrance. Before at Les Schwab, I may have had free coffee and popcorn, but had to wait for hours for installation while seated in an unpleasant waiting room. It was a really nice day, and I had a simple, fun job to do. I needed a new set of tires, and I wanted new wheels. I saved $$$ up for this, but I did have a limit. So I went into my go-to store Discount tire and found the place surprisingly empty. Three large wheels on display, no tires. Seven or eight chairs. Nothing for me to peruse over. The helpful manager showed me some tires and wheels on his computer screen, but I only saw five choices. No Evo wheels in black, a very common size, 17 x 7.5 inches. Not satisfied. So I went to the Lynnwood Discount tire and experienced the exact same thing. No wheels or tires in the showroom, or the old app that showed what your tires and wheels would look like on your exact vehicle. This time they only had THREE wheels IN STOCK and everything else would be either a transfer from another store, the warehouse, or "special order." Very unsatisfying experience. For me--this happens about every seven to ten years--yes, this is a thrilling, fun and memorable experience. I had up to $1,300 to spend, and they had nothing for me. I told them, don't let me go down to Les Schwab one quarter mile away, because I will likely score down there. But again, I wanted it all done TODAY, tires and wheels. The only thing I would suggest is to management is to model the store after Les Schwab, where the showroom is LOADED with all kinds of wheels and tires for me to see and FEEL. Like, racks of different tires of different qualities, and a catalog right on the table of the various wheels for me to choose. Les Schwab had all that, and Discount Tire didn't. As for me, I drive 3,000 miles a year or less, so I will probably be dead before I need tires and wheels again. It's business, AND it's personal. I like to see and feel what I'm buying IN THE SHOWROOM. No offense to the respectful workers at Discount, because they were helpful and kind, they just had hardly any items in stock to fit my 2008 Chrysler Sebring, and that of itself is kind of rare. Wasted time, Ordered a couple tires for the front of our car over the phone. They said they would show up later in the day after 5. They called and said they were there and we went to pick them up and when we arrived they said they weren't there. (mosst likely a mess up between customers) We have been Les Schwab customers for years. Since LS corporate took over the Edmonds store we thought we try discount. After purchasing a car at Swickard Toyota that they sold to me with the original tires from 2017 and had dry rubber, I was in need of new ones. I purchased new tires online that arrived within the following week at Discount Tire and were affordable. I also bought the warranty for $80 that covers all four tires should something happen. When I arrived for my appointment, it was very busy but it didn't take too long to get tended to. Someone inspected my current tires and then all I had to do was wait. They even called me to say they were slow if I wanted to pop in a day early, but I couldn't take them up on it. That being said, the quality of their employees is astounding. Doesn't matter what location you go to, I have always received 5 star treatment. I stopped at the Shoreline, Wa location for a tire pressure check, and was greeted by Henry. Henry is probably no more than 20 or 21, yet hustled out to greet me and engage. Compliments about my car while making sure each tire was right up to pressure. Henry has worked there for four years, and loves his job and Discount Tire. It really shows. At the Aurora store near Costco this time, Austin helped me and was very knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful. I bought 4 new tires and the repair/replace coverage last year and then recently drove through a bad pothole that gouged the side of one of my new Firestone Destination tires. Austin didn't have one on hand today to replace the damaged one (damage on sidewall so couldn't be repaired) so he ordered it to come in tomorrow and in the meantime had a different tire put on my car to get me through. Keep in mind that on this particular day, I was not purchasing anything-I just needed an air check. When I drove up, they were immediately kind and apologized because they felt I had been waiting (it was honestly a short wait time). An associate Malikahi came over- He was so pleasant and polite and happily checked my tires. They unfortunately were all low but no issues with the tires (my car is brand new). Over the summer I was looking at my wheels & tires, they look pretty beat up and aged from over the years, pretty much struggling all around in looks and performance. Did my research online and found some wheels & tires I liked. I did some price comparisons with some other retailers and Discount Tire gave the best quote and price matched any low prices from elsewhere to earn my business. This process can be done online and the response was pretty quick, within an hour or so. Called the local Discount Tire and gave them the quote info, placed my order. About a week later Discount Tire called me to tell me my order was here, went over details and particulars over the phone and my appointment was set over the phone to come in. Very happy with the new wheels & tires I ordered, they look really good, rides well and performed fine when I took a little road trip to the Oregon Coast over the summer. Performs well in the dry, wet and snow so far. One knock, during the install the tech broke my TPS(tire pressure sensor) and didn't admit it, he just said it broke and didn't offer any solutions to repair it. I had to take it to another service station on my own, pay for it, confirmed it was broken during the install of the wheels & tires as it wasn't wear & tear or maintenance issue related. I called the Discount Tire store manager, he was real nice, apologetic, offered and came to an agreement for reimbursement for the TPS repair from the other shop. Refunded amount back on the card the same day. The store/shop is clean, friendly staff, install time didn't take as long as quoted. I only take the time to post a review whenever I receive excellent or poor service because it's reviews that helps make a decision if it's a first time experience. I'm happy to post this review based on service and integrity. I was greeted professionally by Michael when I walked into the store. I told him that one of my tire's pressure keeps deflating under the recommended tire pressure by Tesla. I was taught that tires and brakes are the most important components of a car and its safety. I have 2 little grandkids that ride in this car and safety is #1. After Michael took the mileage n inspected the tires, he recommended replacing all 4 tires with the exact tires that came with my Tesla. He gave me a quote to replace the 4 tires + warranty which I accepted. What impressed me was that he took an extra step by looking for ways to discount the price which he saved me $137.00!! Anything would have been appreciated cause tires for Tesla's are expensive! Then Henry came to get the car and was also very professional and polite. It only took less than 30min to install, rotate & balance 4 new tires. After installation was completed he and Rex (?) went over when I should bring the car back for rotation as it's important to maintain longer lasting tire wear! Fantastic place to buy tires!!! What a relief! I originally went to Firestone in a donut wheel. They were so cold and rude; after already having a tough day. They didn't even look at the car, and gave me a price with an EOD eta. I decided to give it another try later at Discount Tire, which is a few miles away. I'm so glad I did, Michael was so nice. I walked in, I was greeted, I was helped, and provided other solutions within minutes. I was sure that I would have to pick it up later but they quoted a hour with a full bays. We showed up at Discount Tire without having an appointment scheduled, hoping that they could squeeze us in. They were really friendly and welcoming, and they did squeeze us in, which we really appreciated. They cannot always do that if they're really busy, but we had some free time and hoped we could get it done in that time frame, and we were lucky that they weren't super busy at the time that we showed up. The customer service was above and beyond in terms of helpfulness. Our Acura MDX needed 4 new tires. We had found a coupon to purchase 4 Michelin tires through Discount Tire. However, the coupon was only good for the following week-end from the time that we showed up. They gave us the discount from our coupon anyway, which they didn't have to do. Super nice of them. They did a great job putting the tires on our SUV, and they finished the job even more quickly than they'd estimated, so we got out of there in great time. We're very happy with our experience here, and we would most definitely return in the future. read more

In the past discount tires has been very helpful and knowledgeable about questions Ive had about my car, even if I heard a weird sound I could take it in and have them look at it for free. So I wanted to continue doing business with them to show my support. It's been a couple years since I've been back and I feel like this time I had a completely different experience. I came into the shop with a flat tire that they patched up, they told me my tire was good but the spare that I drove in with was not. I went ahead and ordered a new one at the end of September, and the agent said it would be in the following week and that they would call me when it was ready. I never received a call. I waited a little longer since I know sometimes things just take more time. So I patiently waited for their phone call. At the Two week mark, I decided to follow up with them. The person that answered was the one that originally helped me order the tire, he looked into it and said somehow the tire got lost on its way to the shop, he apologized and said he would order me another one. He "AGAIN" said that someone would contact me when it was delivered. At this point i was frustrated but I realize things happen, and I can drive around without a spare so another week shouldn't matter, I said ok. Another week and a half goes by so I reach out for the SECOND time.... )There was never any follow up on their end. When I got a hold of someone They said, "the tire has been there for a few days now" (there was no phone call to let me know it was there like they said they would). Frustrated that they weren't communicating with me but just wanting to get this out of the way I asked my boyfriend if he could pick it up for me. When he got there they asked him for my old spare, he told them that they took it the day they charged me for the new one. Turns out they needed the rim from my old spare to attach the tire to, but they lost it. They apologized but at this time their apologies don't hold much weight.. I am currently waiting for them to order me another spare since they lost the first one. This has been overall a three month process. With Not just one mistake but three on their end. Filled with apology after apology. If they felt bad about any of this in my opinion, they would have been on top of calling me back after the first mix up, but instead I'm the one having to follow up with them. I do feel like if I didn't contact them the first time I would have never gotten the tire that I paid for. Will not be coming back here. A woman came in wanting a tire and needing three; they were bad. They explained to her that her tires were unsafe and that she should not be on the road with them. She explained that she only had enough money for 1 tire. When this was quietly brought to the attention of the manager, he promptly said "would you allow your mother to drive on those" answer "NO"Mgr replied "don't let her leave with those - put them on at no cost". His clarity and certainty were impressive and without hesitation. This only comes from one place... an organization that empowers its people to do the right thing; even when it's not financially advantageous. I always strongly recommend Discount Tire (def get their lifetime warranty package on all 4 tires, especially if you have an AWD vehicle where you might have to replace all 4 tires at once), but the Shoreline location in particular is PHENOMENAL. The staff are knowledgeable, fair/honest, and fast as hell. A++++++! Thought I had a leak just before a long roadtrip today, so I showed up at their shop at 7am (they open at 8). Staff came out at 7:58, found a screw in front left tire, fixed it, added air to all tires, and had me on my way inside 15mins. Cost me $0 because of the aforementioned warranty plan. First I'll say I have been going to Discount since the late 80's. I always love the selection, attention, and service. Recently I was in research paralysis on Goodyear's or BFG for my F150. Called and spoke to Chris. He said just come in and I will take care of you. A little more research and I stayed with the BFG KO2's. They were there in a day and mounted in a few hours. They stayed late to program my sensors and I'll need to go back because I bought some cheap ones from Amazon.. wheels and tires look great and ride awesome.
