Set appointment again and waited 47 min before they took the car into the shop. This is the 3rd time in a row they've not been able to honor the preset appointment times. So find another Discount Tire, drop your car off for the day or plan on being here for hours. Even for a simple rotation like I am getting today. I came to fix a two flat tires with nails in it, with an appointment in advance, they made me wait more than 2 hours for two wheels, they deliberately kept my car not a priority because it is free. Keep in mind that this is how they work: if it's free, it's easier to go pay and they'll do it faster, that's the whole point. And the most important thing is that they only made me one tire, they forgot the second one, I drove 1 mile away from them and stopped to make sure everything was fine, so I had to go back and again wait for an hour to fix it. It's good if you're not in a hurry and can wait until closing until they save your car for last to get it done. And they also refused to do the rotation because it was also free, they said that the protectors were almost worn out, I think also because it was free. read more

The team here was great. Came in with no appointment and they got me out faster than the time they initially quoted. I ended up pulling our new stroller out of the car to get it out of the way for the service and so I could fill up the tires with the little hand pump that it came with. This is a good shop. Recently bought some aftermarket wheels. More competitive than the "other" guy and they honored my veterans discount. There was slight damage to one of the wheels (not their fault) but they immediately ordered another one and had it replaced in a few days. I will shop for tires there next time I need them. I bought 4 new tires and the price was good and they were quick, but too many negatives to recommend it over Schwab: -parking is horrendous, # of stalls too few for number of bays they have and why are there ocean freight containers in the lot taking up space? -they insist on a walk around and inspection of your car, complete waste of time and can be done in the tire bay -no computer desks and wifi didn't work -store does not offer alignment or brake inspection Every time I abandon Schwab (have tried Walmart, Costco and now Discount Tire) I live to regret it. Happy to drive home from work and see Discount Tires right off 99W, north part of Tigard. We just moved to Tigard and I have many things on my to-do list but wasn't even thinking about my tires till I saw the big sign (We've loved going to the Beaverton location so I'm happy to see one in Tigard) and immediately did a u-turn! You can certainly make an appointment, but I don't mind doing a walk-in and waiting. It gives me a little "vacation" in their nice comfy red chairs. (Although at 4 pm the 83 degree sun is directly shining on them and there's no window shades! And all the locations are suppose to have complimentary water bottles...but there were none in their fridge...bummer!) Went in with my tire sensor showing needing a fill. They helped me right away. They looked at all my tires plus my spare. It seems it was just the spare being low. I appreciated that they took a few moments to go over the state of my tires and were not at all trying to push for new tires. They topped me off and had me on my way. read more

Let me tell you how awesome is the Lord my God. My check tire light has been on for a couple weeks. I took a look at them and knew I needed new ones. They are completely bald. One has a leak. I can today to discount tire to see if they could fix it. Because of how bald they are, they couldn't fix it. Now, if you know me, you know I just got back to work after being out for a while because of my amputation and money is really tight. Like non-existent, lol. Well, after trying to find a way to get credit with them and failing, I was ready to leave. While they were trying to figure something out, I prayed to my Heavenly Father asking for help. I need my car to get to doctor appointments, work, and church. Well, He answered. They asked if I had any money. I said 20 dollars in my wallet and that's it. They asked for it, and now they are putting new tires on my car. Now I'm not saying the good Lord is always going to say yes, but when He does, you just want to jump for joy and yell from the mountain tops! Extremely satisfied with the customer service here. This is the first time in my life that I have boughten tires for a car ever. My OEM tires is practically at 2/32" tread, so it was time. I started out by choosing the tires I wanted online, using their guided system, choose a location closes to me and made an online appointment then checked out and paid online. Easy. Got a phone call the next day to confirm my appointment. Due to COVID, they had a system in place that made checking in seamless. Parked my car, a customer service (named tony?) came and got my mileage and told me to drive into the bay. I had arrived 15 min early and they were ready for me. EVEN BETTER! Since I paid online, they handed me the receipt at the front desk and told me my car would be done in about 25 min. Everyone here was up beat and enthusiastic. It was quick, professional and fun. Who likes to shop for tires? No one! Same for researching wheels or changing tires between wheels. And the tire business is opaque to the average consumer. Plus tires are nasty and dirty. They wear down supporting on pure air a ton or more of heavy metal at high speeds. Hopefully they do their part to keep the occupants of that hurtling spaceship as safe as can be. Even though I like and often patronize "the other tire company" with stores in central Portland on transit and cafes nearby to wait, I also patronize Discount Tire. I have found the prices at "the cost warehouse" are really not so great. But the advantage of "the cost warehouse" is you can kill some time shopping for things you don't need or stock up with a prepper-year-supply of toilet paper. I've found once you narrow your plan for tires from reviews and the DOT ratings that Discount Tire often has a great price. I've purchased several sets of tires from this branch and their others. I recently used them to switch rims. They were helpful on the phone to be sure the rims were compatible. Once I had a plan, I called them: "when is a good time to come in to minimize my wait?" "How about now?" They did what I needed, quickly and professionally. Did I say cost efficiently? Yes. They may not have the free coffee, free popcorn, and walkable neighborhood of "the other tire store," but they have equivalent WiFi. They do the same complementary flat repair and rotations which I did not know. And you can't beat the 40s? 80s? red on grey decor! read more

Prices are competitive and service is top notch. They're a shop that only do tires and wheels and absolutely nothing else. This can have its downside if you want a one stop service, but the good side is that there's no up sale. From my experience, this isn't somewhere you can walk in and get service during that visit without an appointment much in the same sense as popular restaurants that strongly encourage you to make a reservation but its absolutely worth the slight inconvenience. read more

UPS messed up and only scanned through one box through (tires are sent 2 per box and I ordered 4) so I had to come back Thursday. They recognized my order and was in and out in like an hour. My review is for our experience on April 21, 2018. It still make me angry every time I think about it, so I decided to finally write this review. My wife took our car into Discount Tire to have the snow tires and wheels removed and bolt on our all-season tires and wheels (winter tire rotation). She text that she was buying new tires. I didn't remember the tires being worn out and I began texting her questions (this is why we have so many photos documenting this exchange). She was told by Austin that the tread on the all-season tires were too worn and the tires were too old to make them 'serviceable'. He suggested she buy a new set of tires because he could not mount the old ones. She agreed to purchase new tires. Austin told her that the tread depths were generally all below 3/32" deep and one is 1/32" deep. She sent me a picture of his measurements, which indicate the tires are essentially bald. I asked for photos of the actual tires. One photo is oblique showing the tread gauge in the red zone (less than 3/32") and showing the measurement is made on the extreme outer edge of the tire. A second photo shows the tread straight on, which very clearly shows the tread not worn down to the wear bars. Wear bars show when the tread has reached 2/32" deep. A third photo shows the age of the tires to be "2512 = June 2012" or under 6 years old. I told her that the tires look fine and we do not need new ones. I told her, "just have them put our tires back on the car as we've requested". So, they refunded the purchase and she left the store. I wasn't aware that they had already removed 3 of our A-S tires from the wheels by the time we decided not to purchase new tires (literally a span of 15 minutes). They had to put the A-S tires back on the rims and refused to mount them onto the car. Again, citing the tread measurements and the tire age. Now we had 3 flat, unbalanced tires in the trunk of the car. I later measured the tread on the tires and all had tread depths greater than 5/32". The following Monday, I took the tires back to Discount Tire and spoke with Cameron. Without explaining the circumstances I asked his opinion on if the tires were ok to put on the car. He said, without hesitation, "oh yeah, we'd service those. No problem". He took several measurements confirming the tires had 5/32" plus tread. I showed him the photos asking why the misleading measurements, why had my wife been sold a new set of tires, and when the decision to purchase was reversed why had they not bolted the tires back onto the car? He was apologetic and seemed sincere, but his possible explanations as to why this happened were not very convincing. Discount Tires rebalanced and mounted the tires and I drove out on our previously 'not serviceable' tires. I am angry because I feel they flat out lied to my wife to sell an $800 set of tires. I am happy that we managed to get photos of the misleading measurements, the actual condition of the tires, and were able get the tires put back on. The moral probably should be... you just can't trust them. read more

I have literally paid this place way too much over the last two years because every time I get a nail in my tire, they refuse to fix and only offer to sell me more tires. I have bought a total of 9 brand new tires in the past two years, all with warranties. Nails that are not in the side wall and brand new tires with warranties. Nope, still have to buy something new. I bought 4 tires from this company a year ago. I brought my car in to have them rotated last week, and was told that the two rear ones were nearly bald, so they couldn't be serviced. The guy tried to blame my car needing an alignment, for the tire failure. They don't even do alignments! He then asked me to come inside the store, to get pricing on new tires. Seriously?! These tires barely lasted a year, and they refused to stand behind their product. Why would I buy anything else from them? Their product is trash. Every single time I take my car to them, even for rotation, they tell me my tires are bald, and dangerous; and try to sell me four new ones. Must be part of their script. I drive rideshare and when my car failed the annual inspection due to low tire tread I was shocked at the quote from another tire store for a new set but almost paid it because I needed to pass the inspection so I could keep driving and earning. Fortunately I found Discount Tire online and it was nearly 1/2 the price of the other guys quote. Paid for tires online, made a appointment for installation the next day and got a even nicer surprise on installation day - a refund! I had a flat tire and my wife had a critical doctor's appointment the next morning. We desperately needed to solve the problem in order to make it to the appointment. I called different places that were open that evening, but they all said they had to prioritize appointments and I would need to drop off the car the next day and they would try to find time between appointments. Then one of my family members heard about my problem and referred me right away to Discount Tire. He was very enthusiastic and said he had a really wonderful experience with them in the past when he was in a desperate situation like mine. He said that not only would they inspect and repair without charge, if the tire did not need to be replaced, but they would even inspect the other tires for us. The next morning, I waited at the store until they opened. There were also other customers there in line with appointments. When they opened, they helped the appointment customers, but they also saw my desperate situation and helped me right away, instead of making me wait indefinitely (like other stores told me). They said exactly what my family member told me: that they would repair the tire for free if it was safe for us, and that they would inspect the other tires for us as well. They were able to repair the tire, but I was worried, so I even asked them if I should replace the tires. They told me no, that the tires were safe, and that I should come back in the spring and they would inspect the tires again at no charge. I was sincerely touched by their service and decided to write this review so that someone in a situation like mine will know that they can find help at Discount Tire, and also wanted to recognize the fabulous business ethics they practice. Four different people helped me today and each of them were highly professional and very courteous and sincere people that helped me like it was their own problem and not just mine. (Only one person, Kevin, had a name tag that I saw. Another person was working at one of the front desks with business cards that said Assistant Manager Keant Pendo, although I am not sure if that was his name. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the other two people.) But thanks to all four of them, I was able to make my appointment. So, Saturday, I went out to my vehicle to find that I had a flat. Put on my donut and headed to discount. I thought their hours were till 6pm but clearly they weren't. I arrived at exactly 4:59 pm and the helpful counter person still had a cheerful attitude and checked me in. I let him know that I wouldn't have come if I knew they closed at five, he said no sweat, but I could tell that he was not even bothered. There were quite e few other customers there, but absolutely none of the staff were outwardly upset, irritated or bothered by being there longer than the 5pm cutoff time. The service at this Discount Tire location is excellent! I was in and out of here for less than 30 minutes for a nail in my tire. Not only did they take the nail out, but they checked all of my other tire pressures as well. I made an appointment online and the first available was the next day. This location takes COVID-19 precautions very seriously. Staff was masked the entire time. You are asked to drive your car into the bay to minimize staff contact with your car. I was very impressed. After having bought tires there over the years, I went there today with a flat and a cross-threaded lug nut that could not be removed. When I arrived I got out of the car, showed the check-in lady the tire and explained that it had a leak but I was able to inflate it enough to get to the store, and also pointed out the cross threaded lug nut, saying that I had to be careful driving on only 4 lug nuts. They had me park while I waited for help. The next employee came to my car. Again I got out, showed them the bad tire, explained that I had inflated it enough to limp into the store and that the lug nut could not be removed which is why I wasn't using my spare tire. After a 2 hour wait, I asked how it was going. The tech proudly told me he had fixed the tire, but HE WORKED ON THE WRONG TIRE! I pointed to the bad tire and asked about the lug nuts. That's when they finally told me, WE CANT FIX THOSE. Long story short, I wasted 2 hours for them to not to fix the tire I requested be fixed. Worse, that manager was a jerk about it. He told me "we would tell you when you arrive if we don't provide a service" I said, " you mean, you *should* (not 'would') tell me if you don't provide a service I request, and both employees failed despite me getting out and showing them the problems." The two hours I wasted could have been spent down the street at one of the leading tire shops that would have both repaired the tire and fixed the lug nut. The lack of attention and lack of caring is striking. I am amazed I went out of my way to buy a new set of tires from them given how they performed and treated me. On May 14th. I did change my Tesla model y Driver side tire with this location. I Waited a long time. They said they will change my tire after work hour For 689 dollars. Cause Waited too long. I trusted the workers to change it without watching. Then around 6:45pm. They called me to pick up my car. Cause it's after store close time. They Did not let me check the car Just give me the key told me can't Park in there parking lot. Need to drive out. I drove out and find that My driver's side rearview mirror cannot automatically open and close It's Good before go in to the shop. The driver side mirror issue happened After the worker Change driver side tire. For the Tesla model y side mirror it can not pull by manually. But The staff manually moved the rearview mirro during the process of changing tire. I went to the second day to tell them that the side mirror break. They come out and pulled my driver side mirror with hands again in front my face trying to fix it and it make my driver side mirror worth! It start wonky! And They refuse to take care of what they did! I paid ＄1045 to Tesla service for fix it. I wish Google can have negative start to put. If is they deserve -5 start!
