Very disappointing experience. This is my second time coming to the Discount Tire located on the corner of Golf Links and Kolb. The first visit was about a year ago when I purchased tires for my daughter's car. It was fine--very transactional. Appointment made, tires installed, done. Nothing memorable, nothing bad, nothing review-worthy. This time was a completely different story. I called on Friday and spoke with a gentleman named Russell, who explained that they fix tires with nails or screws for free. He told me to just bring the car in and that they were taking walk-ins all day. Based on that conversation, I went in on Saturday. The store was extremely busy with appointments and walk-ins, and after waiting about 40 minutes without ever being seen after the initial check in, I decided to leave and make an appointment instead. Since they're closed on Sunday, I scheduled an appointment for Monday and came back today. I checked in, clearly explained that I was there for one thing only: to have a nail/screw removed from my tire. The tire wasn't even flat--I had just noticed the screw and wanted it repaired properly. They did their standard inspection, which is understandable, and then told me that all four tires needed to be replaced. I explained that I was not in the market for four new tires and certainly wasn't planning on spending $1,200-$1,300 today. I just wanted the tire fixed. I even would have been willing to pay for the repair, despite being told it was free. That's when I was told they could not fix my tire because I didn't purchase the tires there. So to be clear: because I didn't agree to buy four new tires, they refused to repair a tire with a nail in it--even though I was told over the phone that this was a service they provided. And no they did not fix it. I guess I had to buy new tires. Horrendous service. Extremely disappointing, especially given how simple this should have been. read more

Was on my way to an appointment, when a light came on in the dashboard of car, saying check all tire pressures. I pulled over on a side street and saw the driver's side rear tire was flat. Pulled into Circle K and tried filling the tire, but would only hold half of the 32 psi pressure. Called Discount Tires on Kolb/Golf Links Road. Gabriel answered the phone. Said they were not very busy and could fit me in, if I could get there right away. I arrived 10 minutes later, as I was driving slower than the speed limit, due to low air pressure in the tire. Gabriel came out with me and looked at all my tires. We had a short discussion and I decided to replace all 4 tires and my wiper blades. (I had just had my car completely serviced 3 months prior and had added 2,000 miles. I was told probably had 1 year before I would need to replaced my tires.) Once I paid for the tires and service, it was about 35 min and my car was ready to go! They sent me texts informing me when my car was in the service area, and again when it was ready for pickup. The service technician came to the lobby before I could check my text, and handed me my key fob and receipt, so I could leave. While I was waiting in the nice, clean lobby, more cars and people kept coming in and things got quite busy. Discount Tires moved cars in the service area and got people taken care of very quickly. This is the very best tire service I've ever had for new tires with or without an appointment! Fantastic job Discount Tires! I've always been a customer of discount tire because they are efficient and quick. I waited in an air check line with only four cars in front of me for about 45 minutes. Every customer they had to get out and try to sell tires too. Meanwhile, there was a long line building and nobody getting helped. Service, service, service! Great service. What I like about all Discount Tires: They greet and acknowledge you when you arrive. They are always opening the doors for customers. They have plenty of chairs for waiting customers. They have complementary bottles of water and an employee, if freed up, goes around and offers waiting customers a bottle. They have a text system that allows you to see the progress of your car and notifies you when completed. You can make appointments online. At this particular location, I really like the manager, Angel, who worked with me on my TPMS. He gave me a discount since I had to replace all four of them. He did great follow up to ensure that everything was working. A real friendly guy. I've been to three other locations here in Tucson and every manager has been the same way, willing to work with you and looking out for your safety. Other bonuses is that they will fix flats for free, even if you are not a regular customer and have an air check lane for free. Discount Tire is a quality chain, embodying the founder's customer service philosophy. Highly recommended. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. So frustrating that they always try to sell you and make it seem like you have no choice, whenever I have them look at a tire it's never reparable, "You have to replace it" have a nice day. After they try to convince me I need to replace all of my tires and I politely decline it seems convenient they never fix a nail. Purchased tires and made the install appointment online. It was seamless. Showed up at my appointment time and drove to the check-in area. They were ready for me and immediately took me back. I settled into the waiting area, pulled out my laptop assuming I'd be there for a bit and before I knew it they were done and I was on my way. I was there less than 45 minutes in total. Went is for a quick air pressure check - with weather changing in Tucson and temperatures getting cooler, my tire air sensors alerted me I needed more air. 2 hours and 26 minutes for a tire change that should have taken an an hour and a half. first they mixed my my vehicle for someone elses who showed up an hour later. then they are having trouble reversing my 2021 corolla because the shift knob is a "lift to reverse" as newer models have. total migraine for 1,000. should have hit the mexican tire shops down the street. for half the price and half the time. "discount" tire my EDIT: thank you to the manager Vincent. solved my issue and should be given a raise! and a commission. talked with me about my issue and made sure i didnt go unnoticed for my problems. even went as far as saying he was sorry for the issue that he didnt cause. read more

Kudos to the staff at Discount Tire for their new policy of nearly "no touch" when replacing tires during this crazy time. I walked into the Kolb/Golf Links location today to purchase new Michelin tires for my F250. I was getting ready to drive cross country over to PA for the holidays. I happened to be in that area so I drove in and went inside. There were two guys behind the counter. One was helping a customer, the other was just shootin' the S### with the other clerk. Assuming he was helping customers, I walked up to his counter. He was engaged in a personal conversation with the other clerk. As to let me know I was interrupting [and without turning to me] he says, "you're gonna have to get in his line, I'm not clocked in yet." He said this in such a rude and condescending manner. Really? He's not on the clock yet he's in uniform behind the counter???? A classier response would've been, "this gentleman over there can help you, I'm not signed onto a computer just yet." And he could've delivered that in a friendly manner. But instead, he delivered a first impression that he, nor the business he was representing could never redeem. What kind of customer service is that? Don't they train their employees how to extend customer service? Quite frankly, I don't care if you're on the clock or not, if you're standing behind the counter, try to look and act professional, and furthermore, I don't need to overhear your ghetto drama conversation. It was inappropriate in front of customers. So, I ended up leaving and spent my fifteen hundred dollars across the street. Big deal right? In the grand scheme of things, that must be a drop in the bucket to Discount Tires. It clearly shows they can care less. What happened to their customer service? Are they not aware the consumer has choices? With Jack Furrier across the street and Big-O Tires caddy-corner, or even through Amazon; customers have choices, and as a business owner, I can't believe anyone in the customer service business would allow somebody like that to represent your business at the front counter. I hate having to deal with anything car-maintenance wise, and I always feel like maintenance and tire shops are just out to get you. But I trust Discount Tire, and they have the best prices. They have a dedicated bay where you can just pull in and get an air check for free. It's much better than trying to use one of those machines at a gas station and having to pay for air, too. I had a flat today and drove on a flat to discount tire at 1:00 pm at the 2927 Southwest freeway Houston location. About 10 employees were inside, door was locked and not taking in customers. We go to this location for all our tire needs. They have assisted us when my husband had a nail in his tire and most recently when I needed to get new tires. Eddie took good care of us! He was friendly and this location offers a military discount. (I'm unsure if other Discount Tire locations offer Military Discount) The wait time was 1 hour and it was ready in 1 hour and 15 minutes. The extra wait time wasn't a big deal to us since our schedule was open. I would suggest coming here on a free day too! Overall, we had a great experience and plan to return. read more

On a Wednesday afternoon I was trying to get my tires changed and all the other Discount Tire locations had a wait if at least 2 hours. I chose this location solely based on the wait time and I had a great experience. The guy who helped me was named Matt, he came and check the tires was honest and straight forward about pricing. I am not sure if these people are incompetent or just plain crooks! I had a tire patched at a locally owned tire shop (EastSide tire on 22nd). One week later I noticed I was losing air in a different tire. My husband took my car in to discount on golf links and kolb and asked them to check all 4 tires. They said the patch from the previous shop was bad and I would need to buy a new tire for $300! I don't think they even bothered checking any of my other tires after my husband told them about the one that was recently patched. I took my car back to EastSide Tire. They showed me how their patch was NOT leaking and took the time to check all my tires for me. They found a leak on a completely different tire and patched it up for me for $10! I wonder if they make commission on all the tires they sell.... if we would have bought that $300 tire we would have spent the money and STILL had a leaking tire! In my opinion these people are crooks and I will NEVER take my business to discount tire again! read more

As a woman, I'm relieved and pleased with the professional customer service I have received from Discount Tires. Last September, I bought my first used car and within a week, my front right tire was ruined with a nail puncture.The technician informed me that my tires had been purchased at Discount Tires and they could honor the warranty for a replacement tire, if I purchased the warranty for $12. That was far cheaper than buying a new tire, so I did and greatly appreciated the savings, plus the new tire. Since that day, I've re-visited Discount Tires at this location and others for various services including another puncture, tire balancing and alignment checks. Every time, I've been met by professional, knowledgable technicians. What has also pleasantly surprised me is how quickly they get my car in and out.
