If you're a beginner or a professional like me, just kidding, this is the place for you. Tons of discs and accessories you need. I'm not very knowledgeable about disc golf but my husband is an avid player. The staff here are pretty good and answered lots of questions. They even helped me pick out a disc for my son who is just starting to play. Due to covid, they ask that you wash your hands upon entering. I think it's a pretty good idea because I'm assuming everyone will touch something. If you're ever in the area, check them out!

This review is for ordering online at DTWorld.com. These guys just continue to prove their awesomeness. Instead of taking the long drive to their store, I decided to use their website to order some discs online. By the way, their prices and selection is equal or better than Amazon. You have much more control of what you want by ordering directly from DTWorld.com regarding what color and weight you want. Here's the deal. It's a flat $4.95 for first-class shipping if your order is under $50 for selected online orders. Way cheaper than gas or a flight to the LA area! I had my order and shipping confirmation on the same day, complete with tracking number, and it was a Sunday!! In just two days, I had my sweet new discs! If you don't live in the area or don't have time to drive there, I highly recommend ordering online from these guys. Go to the store if you can, but if you can't, don't hesitate to order online! DTWorld.com They are the real deal!

Totally blew my mind. The Gentleman working was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, sorry didn't catch his name at the time. They have a great selection of weights and colors of so many disc. They had a glow in the dark Nuke that I picked up, super excited to glow play at dusk. They enforce their COVID protect practice. Face mask, small number of people in side, and everyone has to wash there hands as they enter(huge plus).

Thanks to Discovering the World I have an awesome bag!

Update. This place is still amazing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always takes time to help me make the right purchase. I will keep spending too much money here as long as they stay open! If you are new or just in town, definitely swing by and get the personal experience here. They are the best!

I've had 2 great experiences with the staff and overall experience at DTW. Professional and friendly, offering to assist everyone who comes in the door. I ordered a "Big Jerm" Thunderbird and Brandon( maybe brenden, sorry) helped me out with picking it up from the store instead of getting it shipped. They had a dope cotton candy disc w/red foil waiting for me at the front desk. MUCH APPRECIATED! I believe discs are for throwing and I'll be trying this thing out ASAP. Thanks again, DTW! Eric

Love that all the staff here are so friendly & knowledgeable (Patrick, Sean & Andrew!) This was our 3rd time coming & although we came in right when they were closing, they were still patient and happy to help us choose discs. We wish they would open a location down in SD haha

I really enjoy coming to DTW. They have a great selection of discs from a variety of manufacturers for all player levels. Everyone working here is great. They are all very knowledgeable on their products and are great at helping you make the right selection. They have been great at helping me pick discs to replace some of my old favorites.

Played a few rounds at Oak Grove and lost my Star Vulcan driver in the "tick bush" (ugh, such a bummer!). While driving back to Long Beach, stopped off in Buena Park at Discovering The World to pick up a replacement. Called ahead and they had exactly what I needed. Been wanting to swing by this place for a long time now, but after a few rounds at La Marada, I'm usually too tired to stop here. The place is quite hard to spot...although there's a huge logo on the side of the building, it's still a tough spot from the street. Walking inside, you're met with a small showroom with discs on the wall and a few racks with discs. Looking beyond the showroom, you will see their warehouse where they house thousands of discs. There's a few bins of discounted and discontinued discs and a practice basket outside if you want to try out some discs before purchasing them. Paid just over 16 bucks for my replacement Vulcan...and that's with tax, so in all really nice prices. Purchases also come with a Discovering The World mini disc (marker). Service is really helpful and their selection is really extensive. Those not local to So. Cal can check their website for online ordering. Great spot for Disc Golf fanatics like yours truly.

We went around 5:30 on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded, probably about 4 other kids there. Like I said, I really liked how many slides there were-- in the small kid area there were 4 (one being a double slide, so 5) and the bigger kid side had 2 taller slides. My kid had fun playing on both sides. They also have swings and a cool little gyro-spinning thing for the kids. We did visit the bathroom while there and it was pretty no frills, but several rolls of toilet paper and some hand soap outside, so that was a plus. This park also has a little grassy patch that people were playing frisbees in and possibly disc golf. All in all, this park was very nice!

UCI hosted the 1979 World Frisbee…read moreGolf Championship (watch a clip of it here : http://youtu.be/HwG9psXsOMs) where temporary baskets were laid out to form an 18 hole course. Over time, the course and the area where the course is laid out has gone through many changes. While not recognized by the disc golf community as being a destination course, a handful of old timers, college kids, and area golfers keep the UCI course alive and remembered. As of 2013, the course has no real representation through social media and other disc golf outlets (DGCoursereview.com doesn't even list it). It's a course that is usually passed by word of mouth. Besides a simple website (listed above) that features info on the course and maps of the courses' layout, there's little information out there. There are no signs, no maps and no information at the campus besides faded arrows pointing you to the next pin location. This is definitely an "insiders" course. Perhaps the biggest reason why this course isn't a huge draw for disc golfers is the fact it's a pole target course. There are no baskets. Mind you that target courses were used back in the 60s before the "pole hole" basket was invented by Ed Headrick (an original basket can be found at Oak Grove DGC in Pasadena, the first permanent course in the world). Here's how it works : there are a total of three 18 hole courses laid out and around UCI's Aldrich Park. The first 18 holes are represented by light poles with white tape wrapped around it. The second 18 holes are represented by black tape and the third set of 18 are represented by green tape. There is also a 9 hole "playoff" course represented by red tape. This makes a total of 63 holes. Tee pads are represented by small painted arrows (or in some cases dots). Many are faded and sometimes hard to see. Light poles can also be used as more than one pin location, as you will see multiple color tape on those poles. I managed to only play the first 18 holes before having to leave for a family get together, but I must admit that playing here was really fun (especially if you can get a group together...I played with 8 people). The fact that the campus is so quiet on a Sunday morning makes for a pleasant experience. I was skeptical about shooting at light poles (how fun is that?) but it made you really focus your putting. I can see that playing this course would make you hone in on your mid range game and putting, since you're aiming for something quite thin in size. Also another interesting side to playing here is the fact that buildings come into play sometimes. Also love the fact that there are some elevation throws too. A few other key points about playing at UCI : - If you're a first time player of the course, I STRONGLY SUGGEST coming out with a local who at least somewhat knows the layout of the course. I ended up playing with someone who pretty much grew up playing here with his dad. Since the park is a huge circle, getting lost from hole to hole would be quite easy to do if you're a newbie. It will save you a ton of time playing with someone familiar with the course layout. - Being how this is a large university, I would suggest playing here on weekends...although my buddy says playing here during the week is do-able. Keep an eye out for people walking, jogging, riding bikes and other various activities along the pathways. - Pretty much any ivy patch and or ice plant (http://projects.trnerr.org/invasives/assets/templates/plants/picts/carpobrotus_edulis1.jpg) is out of bounds, unless the light pole is in a patch. Bushes and other plants are safe. - Please keep a low profile when playing here. In other words, respect the rules of the university. It would be very easy for the university to eliminate any signs of a course being here if they see it was a draw to "bad elements". We want this course to be around (and maybe return to glory) for a long, long time. Please respect it and enjoy it.

They took over a giant covered outdoor area with a ton of picnic tables, clean and open and perfect for a large party (I assume they had to rent this). I've been to a lot of parks over the years, and most of them don't have comparable event spaces. The one disadvantage was that we were far away from the playground, much to the chagrin of my three-year-old, who kept demanding to leave the party in favor of the play structure he saw in the distance. Liberty Park is just a huge place with several different zones. We even switched parking lots once we got there and figured out where the actual party was, on the Camp Liberty side of the park. The party was really nice, pleasant and relaxing. We had lunch, watched the dohl ceremonies (he grabbed the stethoscope, securing his future as a doctor), took pictures, and hung out with family. Then, because I'm not a monster, I took my boy to the playground. It was a great playground, well maintained and pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Fewer kids, in fact, than teenagers working out and playing loud music nearby. I'm not complaining. In fact, my child was fascinated by their music and got as much entertainment from their speakers as he did from the play structure. I don't live anywhere near Cerritos, but if I did, I'd make good use of Liberty Park. What a lovely neighborhood resource, for both special events and everyday recreation.

They actually stop and wait for you to pass. I've had that happen many times. My complaint is about people with their dogs. I had another incident with someone who didn't honor the leash law. Small, but a reminder that I can't go to this park with my small dog. It's just not safe for him and it might not be for me either. I don't know these dogs who are loose. Well, at least I wasn't jumped on by a large dog, like last time. That was pretty bad and the dog did hurt me. What if that had been a small child? So, my second incident... I actually saw a woman walk out of the park, leaving her dog inside the park, to choose whether to follow her or come towards me and my 10 pound dog. There's a walkway, back into the adjoining neighborhood. This was not through the parking lot. The medium sized dog, maybe 40-45 pounds, was anxious as to which way to choose. He/she started to come towards us. I mean... honestly! She would no doubt defend her actions by saying her dog is friendly... ...yadda, yadda. Point is, THERE IS A LEASH LAW THAT IS ***NOT HONORED!*** People who don't leash their dogs here are growing in this park. No one does! And because no one does, everyone seems to think it's ok. It isn't! It's not ok. While a large dog might be friendly, they can pounce on a small dog and injure it. Or a small child! If your dog is unleashed, it's out of your control and that's the point. The whole thing makes it near impossible to use this park. It's in my neighborhood so that just should not be. I'm still giving this 4 stars though because of the gold disk guys... they are mostly guys. They're great. ...
