Amazing experience from the buffet to the servers. I wish I had pictures for you, but we were starving and we just digging in. The server was so polite and just explained everything that was on the buffet and then they put signs out. My granddaughter asked for mango pudding and I promptly told her that she could go to the buffet and get it and our server said no no hang on I'll get it. He not only brought us the mango pudding that brought us the rice pudding as well. This is a smaller more intimate restaurant in a sort of strip mall, but don't let that fool you this restaurant packs flavor . Do not hesitate to try this place, I would go back in a heartbeat if it were closer to me . Oh, and by the way, I am a huge fan of Indian food and by far they had the best naan I've ever had . In the mood for Indian cuisine and stumbled upon this place. What a cute little place with some awesome food. They weren't busy so we were able to be seated quick. Looks like it's family owned and operated. Very clean and smells absolutely divine upon walking in. We ordered the veggie samosas to start. Hubs also got a soup although I can't remember the name. They were very tasty and good. The green sauce is a bit spicy. For entrees we got the Aloo Saag and the Saag Veggie. The Saag Veggie had more flavor and will be what I get next time. I liked the Aloo Saag but I think it lacked some of the flavor that the Saag veggie had. Plus I liked having more veggies in the curry. Their food is alright but if you ask for "not hot at all," be prepared for "medium hot." I'm not sure if they have a lot of the food prepared in advance and that's why they can't remove the hot spicy flavors, or if there's a language barrier, but I've never gotten a meal that I didn't end up throwing away because of the heat. My husband loves the place, so I keep trying different dishes, hoping I'll get lucky. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! We only order pickup and the staff is very nice. read more

After spending most of the Saturday afternoon shopping, we were in no mood to cook dinner so we searched for an Indian restaurant near our area and found Discovery Indian Cuisine 2.0. We ordered online through DoorDash and ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Chicken Rogan Josh and Chilli Chicken. I picked up my order in 20 minutes and soon was on my way home to enjoy dinner. From the food order, we first had Chicken Chilli which although cooked well with spices was dry which sometimes becomes difficult to eat. Then we had Paneer Tikka Masala which was made well with spices and the taste was amazing especially with capsicum and onion in a curry. Then we had Chicken Rogan Josh although it was good and cooked but it could have been better. All in all, our experience was okay but we would definitely be back especially to have Paneer Tikka. read more

This was my first time ordering from Discovery 2.0 and I used UberEats which was offering BOGO Naan and $5 off Butter Chicken (normal price for butter chicken is $20 which I find to be way too high compared to other local Indian restaurants). Overall the food was edible but unremarkable to me. I couldn't select a spice temperature for the chicken but it showed up pretty mild with less authentic flavor than what I'm used to. The naan was super tough to pull apart and wasn't presliced. The basmati rice didn't have the same cardamom or spice flavor that makes Indian rice so delicious. The best part of my order was the appetizer Samosa Chaat, which I only ordered after reading another Yelp review. I will probably stick with the Indian joints in Carrollwood. read more

I was sad to see Dickeys BBQ closed down in this space but thrilled to see an Indian restaurant opening in the Lutz/Land O Lakes area. I dined here on a Saturday evening and it surprisingly wasn't busy at all for dine in. However, I noticed there were many to go orders coming in and out the door. The restaurant is very clean and the employees greet you with a bottle of water. I greatly appreciate this because I hardly ever have to wait for the server to bring me a refill. I was a bit disappointed they have alcohol present on the menu, but no alcohol yet in house. (Supposedly they are going to be serving it soon. ) The food came out quickly. The garlic naan lived up to it's name and had an appropriate amount of minced garlic. There were tender chunks of chicken surrounded by a savory sweet aromatic sauce in the Tikka Masala. It was excellent but their "Indian Hot" is probably a 6 on a 10 point spicy scale. My server was very attentive and checked on me often. I didn't use the bathrooms but since I was a previous Dickeys customer, I assume they are clean. They have a buffet on the weekends from 11 to 3 which I'm looking forward to returning for that, but only after they get beer, ha ha! read more

After fighting internally for an hour trying to decide if I wanted to door dash nearly $100 worth of items from this place I settled on going in for the buffet instead. They open for business at noon on the weekends. You're greeted with Indian music videos playing on the TV and incense being burned inside. There is plenty of seating available and the waiter was very attentive. There was a good variety of options in the buffet: onion and spinach pakora (spinach was very good) green and tamarind chutneys, raita, naan for the table, chicken biriyani, chili chicken, chicken wings, and an assortment of curries. The butter chicken was sweet, the egg curry was a little sour, the channa sag was good as well. Lots of options for whatever you may fancy. Do keep in mind the butter chicken had bones! My only complaint was the absence of any lamb dishes and overall the food was not very spicy at all. Good variety for a fair price, I look forward to trying more of the menu in the future. read more

Picked up food from here recently and it started off wrong. The workers had two computers available for checkouts, but only used one, while the other took over ten minutes for two customers. The worker also initially tried convincing me I bought a platter (extra $100+) instead of $16 for the item. Once I got back the first thing I noticed was the rice was stale, and so was the naan. Next thing that my wife noticed was none of the other dishes were fresh (malai kafta, butter chicken, wings). The dishes may have been frozen and then microwaved. The final was that none of the food seemed to have the high quality you would expect in desi food. The spices were wrong, and overall it was bland. The restaurant did look clean, but the layout could have been made better. This is my first one star Indian food review, and I hope it shows how disappointed I am in the establishment. read more

I'm not sure if they're struggling with the 2.0 additional restaurant but they decided to close mid lunch service when I arrived. A group of Indian customers were walking to the door in front of me and a staff member gave them the "X" with his arms and they seemed puzzled. I threw up my hands like "what the heck" and he opened the door and said they closed the kitchen. We all ended up walking away and I had to get back in my car and drive some more to a competitor's restaurant. Complete waste of gas and time. We decided to give their lunch buffet a try and it did not disappoint. There were several chicken options as well as one fish and two vegetarian. There was no beef or lamb. They bring fresh naan to the table which was nice. The food was not the best Indian around but still very tasty and for $20 a good value for sure. I would eat here again. My husband felt the buffet area could have been cleaner. I will say we ate towards the end of buffet hours. This was a 3.5 but I will give 4 star because of the value. read more

The only reason for two stars and not one is that even though the service was extremely slow or non existent at times, the manager was genuinely apologetic. The female server would hardly leave the counter area. We were seated at a booth where the cushion popped up once we sat. Manager came over and "fixed" it. That same booth would constantly shift when the people behind us would move. Very annoying the whole time we were there. They have beer and wine on the menu but are not serving currently due to licensing reasons. Took almost 20 minutes before our appetizer orders were taken. Waited more than 45 minutes for the food. There were 4 tables with patrons. We were not given water until half way done with our apps. We were given the same size plates for dinner as for the apps. Extremely frustrating as my food and naan would not fit on the plate. The chicken tikka was very dry. The Butter Chicken tasted like a can of tomato sauce with some spices. After waving down 2 staff members, she then brought out water about 30 minutes later. Food (only 2 entrees) came out over 60 minutes later. Rice was enough for only 1 person, but we didn't ask for more in fear of waiting another hour. Food was mediocre and definitely not worth the time nor what they charged. The restaurant was empty except for another single person at a different table, so I'm not sure what was going on back in the kitchen. I asked for a container to take home rest of food/sauce and only a square foam container was offered. Overall, bad experience and would not recommend. There's better options in New Tampa, a few miles further and you'll get your food quicker. read more

The portions are small, but the taste of the paneer made it all the more worth it. The butter paneer or paneer makhani sauce was delicious. I would like a little more paneer added to it, and especially for the price they charge. The malai kofta was extremely salty, and again was surprised that we got four tiny balls. The naan...very good. We will go back and try the food again, and hope that the cook reduces the salt when preparing the food. read more

While I was in Lutz, I decided to try to Discovery before I made the trek back to Riverview. The restaurant was very clean and cozy. I ordered samosas, butter chicken and goat curry as hot- a level below Indian hot .The butter chicken and goat were amazing and the portions were generous. Unfortunately the samosas were missing from my bag but I called the restaurant and they refunded me after generously offering to deliver them which was great service. Small place yet the tables are not jammed packed. Being relatively new the place is clean. The wait staff are nice and helpful. Ordered samosas, tandoori chicken, dal makhni and garlic naan. They do bring out a large, chilled bottle of water which was nice. No soda fountain so the soda comes in cans. I think they are still trying to work out the system as the food was slow in coming which is somewhat usual for Indian restaurants but it was a tad slower here and I didn't get the samosas. The owner was apologetic for this. The tandoori chicken and dal were good. Rice does come with the meal as well. The garlic naan was also very good. The spicy level for the tandoori was on the low side and I like it spicy. My guess is they tone it down some so next time I'll ask for a bit more spice. I do plan on coming back a few more times to try out other items. Although I'll order only the samosas and hold off on ordering the main course until the samosas come out. LOL read more

We came around lunch time and didn't realize it was a lunch buffet. I was pleasantly surprised, I love a good buffet. Naan came with the food, they refilled as needed. The best Indian cuisine you will ever have! I always order the butter chicken medium with the garlic naan and it never ceases to amaze. The food is so fresh and well prepared and you get the perfect amount of food for the price. I can CONFIDENTLY say there's not a single item on this menu that will disappoint you- it's all truly that good. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, sometimes when it's busy the service can be a little slow but it's worth the wait, everything is fresh and you can definitely taste the difference between them and other restaurants. Had a great experience at Discover Indian cuisine 2.0 and want to share about it. The ambiance was casual, clean, and very enjoyable. Indian music playing, tables spread out nicely with choice of booths or tables, and cool India-themed artwork on the walls. Servers were pleasant and the owner was very kind, checking in on us several times. Food was fantastic! Here's what we had: Chickpea hamosas- they presented them precut and it pleased my whole group, which is tough because I like heavy seasoning and spiciness while my wife prefers under seasoned food with no spice. I think The breading allowed my wife to handle and enjoy the seasoning Chicken briyani was a nice portion and the presentation was cool - we all enjoyed it Chicken tikka was amazing- so flavorful that even though I ordered it mild to please everyone, I didn't care to add hot sauce. I'm trying to balance enjoying my meal with eating responsibly, and since this dish is grilled with a marinade and no cream sauce, I suspect it is reasonably healthy and sooooo flavorful!!! Btw, I ordered everything mild and asked for hot sauce on the side. Their hot sauce is homemade and delicious! We ordered the dish that is like creamed spinach with chickpeas. Loved it! The food was delicious. I'm not an Indian food expert but it tasted great! My only issue were the music videos on the large flat screen. Kind of a blend of rap and Indian plus It was way too loud. Not everyone likes that music especially if you come in with a family..I think more subdued traditional music would be more appropriate. I am not typically a fan of Indian food, but this place hits the spot. There wasn't a single dish that I wasn't pleased with. Everything had great depth of flavor, that kept you wanting more. My mom is a huge fan of Indian food, I would consider her a connoisseur for how much she loves it, and this has been her go to spot ever since she has stumbled upon it. She's been going quite often and has tried almost all of their dishes and it's safe to say that this place deserves the five stars. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff were also very friendly and had even offered us to try their mango lassi; which was also very delicious. I love how every meal was made to order meaning everything was nice and fresh. Meaning that, you are able to also choose your spice levels. Where most places don't typically offer this.
