Beware working or leasing with them. Forced our non-profit to pay an ungodly amount to return the item at the end of the lease ($800) even though we finished out the lease. Customer service during the 4 years of our lease was really bad. Not responsive. Would've been better off just using a $200 inkjet printer rather than the thousands we dished out every year. read more

I am an Office Manager and am the "go to" gal for three large copiers that are leased and serviced through Discovery Office Systems. I have worked with them for over a year and I am a HUGE fan! If there is ever a tech problem, I can always reach someone who is very sweet and helpful; some tips and tricks to try before needing to book an appointment with an engineer. If the engineer does need to visit, they are courteous, fast at fixing the problem, and explain (in a way that I "get it") what happened and how to prevent the issue in the future. Ordering toner is a breeze and is shipped overnight. Of course, the copiers themselves are great and give clear, bright copies every time. The sales representatives I have been in contact with are very professional. I have an extensive sales background and I always appreciate a person, who I haven't been in contact with for weeks/months, to remember my son's name and how things are. I highly recommend them for any office. read more

Today our machine went down again at the open of business and we reported it. The tech came out quickly and then said that he had to order the part. He then called back to say it would not be in until Monday (today is Thurs morning mind you) so my help desk called to say that they wanted a loaner then (which they have never provided despite us having several times we were down for 3-5 days). They proceed to say, wait, we have the part. Then they say they can't come back to fix it until tomorrow even though it's only 10:30 a.m. We are closed tomorrow but have people in over the weekend. More frustration. We called them and said that if they could not replace the part then please put in a loaner (we've went up to four days with a machine down without one, no offer of one even). The tech came back out and was obviously angry about it because when my employee greeted him in the front office with a "hey how's it going (name here)" he replied "Just show me the printer (name here)". While we have been frustrated with the company we have always been friendly to the tech so it's obnoxious for him to treat my employee bad because he had to come fix a printer the same day instead of making us wait Fri, Sat, Sun and then until you show Monday sometime. Sorry but we have business that runs over the weekend. Look at all the hidden five star reviews on yelp (all posted within ONE month and all name dropping employees who are all WONDERFUL!) good thing Yelp has seen through this charade of fake reviews and hidden them. All the users have only ONE review and of course they signed up because this company was so amazing. Our lease is up Dec 2014 for two of our three machines. The people in my office may just have a party to celebrate getting a new brand of copier and a new service company. THINK ABOUT THIS BEFORE USING DISCOVERY We had to sign a lease through US Bank for the copier. Caltronics leases direct. So does Inland Business Systems. Me thinks this is because it's much more difficult to fight a lease with a bank than it is with a company that provides substandard service on that product. We would have had an easier time breaking this lease if it were with Discovery because the equipment fails constantly and they fail at good customer service on a regular basis. Go with a company who actually leases the equipment themselves instead of hiding their bad junk behind bank leases that are completely separate from their maintenance and service. The whole reason you would lease a copier is so that you don't have to deal with maintenance costs and problems. The entire way they do business keeps you from holding them accountable. WARNING: DISCOVERY leases AUTO RENEW for a FULL YEAR if you don't cancel them at least 90 days before it ends. Auto-Renew leases are a red flag for me, if you have to trap your customers then you've got problems. Neither of the other vendors Im using auto-renew leases. We are also paying much higher prices to Discovery for the lease than the replacement machines from Xerox or Konica Minolta. Management allowed this horrible situation to continue here rather than doing the right thing and cancelling this lease or replacing the equipment WITHOUT A LEASE EXTENSION. We have over 250 employees here in Santa Rosa that all know the name Discovery and know to avoid it. They know we call for service and are told that someone will be here and then no one shows up until the next day. They know not to use it, I hope you do too after reading about my experience with these people. This company is apparently huge in this local area which is shocking given the horrible service, lack of ability to do something basic like deliver toner on time, no SLA, horrible recycling program (good luck with that one) and follow through. We have 2 copiers from Discovery. One we purchased 6+ years ago, the other we purchased 2 months ago. We rarely have to call for service but when we do, the technicians arrive in a reasonable amount of time. They always take into consideration the nature of the problem to determine how quickly they need to arrive. They almost always know what the problem is before they even come out and have replacement parts with them. We always ask for Tom C. He is professional, competent and thorough. After fixing the problem he does basic maintenance to ensure it continues to run for years to come, he has even replaced the toner because he saw it was low! From an Admin point of view, Discovery makes life easier. They are responsive, efficient and I love that they always know when I am low on toner. No more stocking an extra toner or running out at the last minute to pick one up. I wouldn't use any other copier service for our organization! read more

I am the office manager of a very busy, fast-paced law office and as such, we are always using and over-using our copier and printers. We lease our copier and have purchased all of our stand alone printers from Discovery and have been loyal and exceptionally happy clients for over three years. Due to the volume of our office, we do episodically experience copier mishaps. One call to Eric or Hannah in the service department and we receive immediate, expert, professional service. Ernst, Raj and Tom continue to provide professional, expert, patient and kind technical support. On occasions we have had a mishap as we are preparing for a tight timeline. When I explain that, again, Ernst, Raj or Tom is here to immediately address our needs and always offer kind and professional care.
