Delicious! The menu has a nice amount of items to choose from with a fun twist on some traditional names. I ordered garlic naan, chicken chili, black daal! Everything tasted very well made and nicely spiced. My only complaint is the naan was a bit burnt. This order was for carry out and was made fresh! I'd definitely order the black daal again. Can't speak to the service because I did not dine in. The restaurant itself was lovely and felt very inviting.
I ate here solo, just to soak it all in... the aroma of spices, the buzzing energy of families and friends around me, the feeling of being fully present in the room. I ordered the lamb chops and paired them with the chicken biryani, and honestly... chef's kiss. The lamb chops were crispy on the outside, juicy inside, perfectly balanced with a tangy kick. You can taste the care in the marinade and the grill. Two generous chops, finished with a Kashmiri chilli sauce that really delivers. The chicken berry biryani was just as good (fragrant rice, tender chicken, and little pops of sweetness from the cranberries that worked beautifully!). I also had a mango fennel lassi, which was refreshing and light, and a perfect complement to the meal. To end, I took a chance on the chocolate pudding with chili. I was skeptical, but it completely won me over: warm, rich, and the texture was... mMmm so very seductively smooth. It was nothing short of perfection. And not surprisingly, the entire staff were amazing throughout--super kind, super attentive, and very on point about checking in just enough without hovering. I've been to other Dishoom locations, but this one really stands out to me personally. Not too busy, still glam, and just a really lovely place to spend time. A standout meal and experience from start to finish!
THE HYPE IS REAL. With one night left in London and zero Indian food in my system, I had to finally answer the question every Brit kept asking me: "Have you been to Dishoom yet?" On a random Thursday, the wait was an hour but no complaints on my end. My friend and I grabbed seats at the bar and ordered Tamarind Mezcalitas. Did I expect to find an actually great mezcal cocktail in London? Absolutely not. Am I thrilled it happened at an Indian restaurant? Absolutely yes. The vibe aims to evoke 1960s Bombay Iranian cafés. I can't speak to that firsthand, but the closest comparison I can offer is: Bombay meets Bourbon Street. A 1920s Indian speakeasy. Live jazz floated down from the balcony, filling the room with warmth and energy. After conferring with our server, we landed on a few dishes to share: Lamb Chops: Exquisite. Perfectly cooked with a spiced crust and plenty of meat. Makhmali Paneer: A savory marshmallow in the best way possible; charred outside, cloud-soft inside. It genuinely redefined what is possible with paneer for me. Chicken Ruby: Dishoom's take on butter chicken--and hands down the best version I've ever had. I didn't know butter chicken could taste like this. Chocolate Chai: Think Mexican hot chocolate, but less sweet and perfect with food. I didn't plan on ordering one... and ended up having two. I don't know when I'll be back in London, but I do know that when Dishoom opens in NYC, getting a seat will be nearly impossible. And deservedly so.
VEGAN REVIEW Absolutely believe the hype! Amazing vegan English breakfast with an Indian/Iranian cafe twist. Great unlimited oat milk chai. Lovely ambiance. Servers work as a team, you won't be neglected even when it's really busy. Went to multiple locations & it was consistently delicious!
This place was super yummy! The line went outside for quite some time as it's a super popular place but they managed to seat 2 of us at a 6 people table for an hour or so before another group comes in so I was extremely grateful! We only waited around 20 minutes which was great on their end because they are super great and attentive with seating walk ins. Super chic and glamorous I felt like I transported into luxury. We ordered a few things from the fish appetizer (amritsari), side of greens, the special biryani and the ruby chicken curry! I also had a very yummy old fashioned. I thought the amritsari was really yummy but it gave my friend the runs for the bathroom cause it's quite spicy. The side of greens were definitely needed as a long day of London travel didn't really consist of much greens. The chef special biryani wow'd us in term of how large it was I definitely would say bring an entire family to share as it was quite salty and filled with carbs so I would say I had regrets of ordering side of rice. The ruby chicken curry was my favorite and it definitely tasted amazing with that side of rice. I can't wait to come back again and try other things on the menu!
I was seriously craving Indian food and my husband found Dishoom. We were too late for a reservation, so we decided to try our luck walking in and wow, the line was out the door! But don't worry they've got a system down. You get a buzzer and can wait at the bar, where we grabbed drinks and apps while vibing in the dim, vintage, speakeasy-style interior. The wait was about 25 minutes, which flew by with the lively atmosphere. When we sat down, we ordered: * Lamb Shank Biryani * Chicken Ruby * House Black Daal * Cheese Naan The biryani came with a flaky roti crust, and our waitress even offered to peel it back for my video . The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender and every bite had meat no skimping here! The black daal was creamy, savory perfection, and paired well with everything on the table. And the Chicken Ruby? A rich, flavorful curry that had my husband talking about taking a bowl of the sauce home. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. We'll definitely be back next time we are in London. We knew we wanted to eat here when we were in London, so fortunately we reserved. We got our table right away even though there was a queue. The service was fantastic which is a feat itself when you think of how busy it is. A well oiled machine. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Ruby Chicken, Grilled Greens and Tandoori Chaat. All were amazing. We loved our experience here. Would come again and highly recommend
Went here based on YouTube travel videos. Also, made a reservation ahead of time because of its popularity. If you like spicy food, this is the place for you. We've had spicy food in Southern California, but in comparison to how it was here, what we had before was toned down. There's no holding back at this restaurant. I wondered why the portions seemed small and just contributed it to European culture until I realized the food is so spicy that we could only eat so much in one sitting. The servers were friendly enough, although I wish they had left the pitcher of water on our table instead of us waiting for them to refill our cups. Better yet, milk might have been better. As for the restaurant itself, it's a mix of retro and modern. The bathrooms were really retro, like the toilets had the pull chain and the sink had the 2 different faucets for hot and cold. It's a nice restaurant, just know that eating the food here is like being on an episode of "Hot Ones".
Whenever we are in the area, my friends and I frequent this place pretty often. This time I switched it up and decided to try the lamb chops and okra fries. To my surprise, it was perfect. I ordered a side of rice but honestly the lamb is so well seasoned you don't even need the rice. As for the fries, it was my first time trying along with my friends. They're very picky eaters but tried to be open minded. When I say all our faces changed after trying it. We ended up with three bowls because no one wanted to share. I know many have their own idea of okra but I promise you it's worth a try. A small reminder as well, while they tend to seat pretty quickly, it'll save you the headache to make reservations ahead especially if you're like us and had a party of 5-6 ppl.
Was able to make a reservation here earlier in the day for dinner. Dishoom is one of the most popular Indian restaurants in London. This one is located in Kensington. First off, the staff are so genuinely friendly and helpful. We arrived early and were quickly seated. For our party of 3, we ordered the Nalli Nihari Biryani: a rice, lamb, and lots of spices covered by a puff pastry. My description doesn't do this dish justice as it was so flavorful. I don't like lamb, as it usually has some gamey taste. There was none of that here. It was tender and so flavorful. We also ordered Tandoori Chaat, which had pineapple and sweet potatos. So many flavors and it all went well together. The chicken tikka was good and came out as expected. The chicken ruby was fantastic, and had so much flavor, with just a bit of spicy kick. We thought there was going to be so much leftover, but between the three of us, we almost polished off everything. This easily was the best Indian food that I have had.
TikTok did not steer me wrong. My dad and I came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch - without a reservation - and they were able to promptly seat us - but just asked for the table back at a certain time, which was no problem for us. Their menu is meant to be shared - and share we did! I started with their watermelon sharbart - like watermelon juice and soda water - very light and refreshing. Then, we shared lamb samosas, the dishoom chaat, the chef's special, and a chicken roti wrap. Honestly, we didn't even touch the roti wrap and took it home because we were so stuffed after everything else. The samosas were hot, fragrant and delish. The chaat was exceptional - sweet, spicy, tangy - but also warm and cold; it was a sensory experience. The chef's special was lamb with rice and chicken liver, served in this flaky dough and...it was just so good. The whole meal was amazing. And service was fantastic as well; he took time to explain the menu, gave his recommendations, and was great at making sure we always had chilled tap water (a novelty in London). While we were stuffed and didn't try it, dessert looked amazing. I did take a chocolate chai to go and...YUM. It was decadent and the perfect sweet treat to end the dining experience.
Another day of being disappointed by another Dishoom branch. I really do not understand the hype at all. It's intensely fine and the vibe is nice and the service is good but the food is so aggressively mediocre I just can't fathom why this place has the reputation it does. I've tried all of the hits on the menu at other locations (black daal is good, chicken ruby is good, okra fries are good, broccoli salad is as good as a broccoli salad can get) so tonight I opted for something else and got the pau bhaji. As with everything else I've had at Dishoom, it was good, and adequately priced. Would I order it again? No. Would I recommend it? Not really. The best thing I've had at a Dishoom branch to date is an espresso martini which is a bizarre thing to say about a chain of popular Indian restaurants but for me it's the truth. Service really is good though and they have a smooth system. You can get out for under £20 a person easily if you aren't drinking.
Having the most pleasant experience at breakfast in dishoom. I am transported back to simpler times as I enjoy the music and friendly waitstaff bustling around. From the moment the wonderful hostess let me in early to escape the morning rain to the lovely hostess making me feel welcome, it was all perfect. I enjoyed a vegan sausage role and flavorful beans, and capped it with a delicious chai for desert. I had been to another location with my family last year for dinner but it was another beautiful experience to try this option for breakfast. Highly recommend! Update: went a second morning. What can I say I'm a creature of habit. read more

I can't believe that I leave a review of an Indian cafe because I am not a big fan of Indian food. But Dishoom is so popular in London now and I have to see what's going on when I travel to the city. First off, it is a walk-in cafe. I didn't want to make reservations for every meal when I travel so I made a trip to this outpost. The wait was around an hour and the bar area was filled! It took us some time to get a spot to wait! But let me tell you... it worth the wait. Chai is a must here. We ordered Bun Maska Chai to start.. dipping warm soft bun into yummy chai. Heavenly. Since we do not eat spicy food, we didn't try the famous biryani. We tried the House Black Daal, Chicken Ruby and Garlic Naan. Our waiter knew we would demand more naan and rice, and gave us more. We also tried some items from the Grill section, mushroom, prawns and corn. All were delightful and delicious. OMG! I know we ordered way more than we could consume but we didn't want to miss any of them. All good! Definitely worth the hype (and wait)! Our waiter offered us "bottomless chai" wow... I wish I had an additional stomach! read more
Managed to go 3x in 5 days so definitely a favorite. I heard the hype and even took a cooking class From Bombay with Love inspired by the Dishoom cookbook (which I brought back). We had their paneer tikka roomali, grilled tandoori chaat, broccoli salad, tried their house sodas kalakhatta sherbet, fresh nimbu soda and watermelon sherbet, their delicious cocktails margarita and espresso martini, their chai which you can keep refilling , tried their mango kulfis, but the Star dish is this location's speciality, nihari biryani. Every Dishoom offers a speciality dish for each location which is a great concept. It was delicious. The lamb was so soft, it falls off the bone so succulent, delicious does not do it justice. The service was great each time. They know how to take care of their patrons. It's busy so recommend making reservations but they accommodate walk ins happily as they have a bar area while you wait. Must not miss on your next visit to London! Can't wait to go back. read more

LOVED this place! Waited in line for 1 hour and it was mostly worth it. They take reservations before 5:30pm so highly recommend it. The customer service while waiting in line was AMAZING. They treated everyone with kindness and with a smile on their face. Once entered the cafe looked very much like those old Parsi restaurants in Mumbai. Same vibe and decor. Ordered bottomless chai - perfect cardamom hot tea that relaxes you right away and set you up for the big meal. Mango lassi - perfect sheerness, may be can loose some fennel seeds (was too much for me) Samosa - freshly made, the filling was just perfect old delli style with the tasties red chutney. Okra fries - OMG this was the best, I could prolly eat another order just by myself. Aaloo chaat - reminded me of old delhi fried aaloo chaat. Perfect sauté fried potatoes with crunchy Passi and chutney. Tandoori Chicken: Kids LOVED it. Moist and perfect. Had to get a 2nd order. Daal Makhani - This was by far THE MOST AMAZING DAAL makhani I have had outside India (and I have daal makahani in a lot of countries including in over 30 states in USA in last 20 years). Perfect consistency, salt, balanced flavor. We ordered twice! Kathi roll - was good, I would have liked bit more pickled onion etc. Paneer makhani - was very flavorful, creamy and tasty. Kheer: with blueberry was ok Kulfis - OMG the highlight of the evening. Everyone ate two each. I would highly HIGHLY recommend this place and can't wait to come back every-TIME we visit London now on. This will always going to be a place we will keep in our itinerary. read more

This was by far the most recommended restaurant in London from our networks around the world. We had the pleasure of visiting the Kensington location while on vacation and we were blown away by the experience. The vibes were immaculate, and it definitely felt like a bustling street cafe. There is live jazz music from the house band in the evenings, the staff are all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We were particularly impressed with their ability to accommodate large parties like ours, especially with kids. All of the food we got was delicious and unique, and we especially loved the special and the lamb shank. And of course the chai is a must. PRO-TIP: consider an early dinner to avoid the rush and secure a reservation. Also all of the locations have unique themes and decor, so research before you decide on one. read more

Dishoom is one of my favourite restaurants - the Kensington location might just be one of my favourites - As of December 2024, Dishoom has ten locations across the UK, mainly in London, but this also includes restaurants in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester. It is located just off Kensington High Street, on Derry Street. The interior is large and welcoming and has lots of tables, I visited for lunch in the afternoon, and despite being very busy, I was able to get a table straight away without the need for a reservation. The staff at this location are wonderful, they were happy to chat and seemed genuinely happy to be there, I mentioned how I was from Manchester and we began to chat about what brought me to London and the Dishoom location in my home city. The manager was also kind and after explaining that I left my matka at home, she allowed me to roll the dice at the end of my meal - I was so annoyed when I got on that train to London and realised I'd left it at home! For allergies, you scan the QR code, I do miss the gluten-free menu they used to provide although I'm sure the QR code is more inclusive for those with allergies other than just gluten, and it allows them to keep it up-to-date without relying on a printed menu. I decided to go for my Dishoom regular order - a Chicken Ruby with basmati rice, I ended up going for tap water on this occasion, the staff always made sure I had a drink and even offered to top me up after paying my bill, which I appreciated as I didn't feel like they were rushing to chuck me out after I paid. My food was really good, it was served in good time and was hot, the Chicken Ruby had amazing flavours, the chicken was so tender and fell apart with just my spoon, a generous helping of sauces and the spices of the curry, combined with the rice, everything was cooked perfectly. Like all Dishoom locations, a service charge is added onto the bill, but this is common with 99% of restaurants in London, I did pay it on occasion because the team were excellent - although I would prefer they didn't add it in the first place as I do believe the customer should decide how much they want to tip (if at all) - despite being a QR code to pay you also can't remove the service charge via their payment app - so you must ask a team member. I can't fault this Dishoom, with excellent service, food quality and all round great atmosphere, I will 100% be returning here on future visits to London and for me that deserves a perfect five. read more
Top notch atmosphere, service and food. We inadvertently added 36 hours in London to the end of a southern European trip and had been between flights and airports for over a day. We are not only fed well but nourished. I had the house special black dal and roti with broccoli salad. Dal was creamy and rich. The salad was so fresh and had a great amount of heat. Hubby had Ruby... sauced chicken that he said melted in his mouth. We also had a side of corn on the cob with a spicy masala lime squeeze. Cannot rave enough. Drinks were interesting, thoughtful and well paired with the menu. Our server was delightful as was the rest of the staff. As this was an anniversary moment for us they treated us to a divine chocolate pudding with chili ice cream and coupons to return for a breakfast naan. Sorry for the crazy pics I swear we only had two cocktails. It is surely the cancelled flights and hotel scramble. read more

Everyone told me the just go to place is Dishoom in London. Make sure you make a reservation! Make one is easy online and we had to get an early dinner at 5:15 cuz we booked a week prior to our trip. They were not kidding and the food did not disappoint. It was one of the best indian foods I ever had. I highly recommend the okra fries and chicken ruby with garlic naan. It was delicious. The chai is also bottomless. The dessert was a chocolate lava cake sorta and the a koffe(?) which I recommend both. The service was also super nice, the restaurant is dim lit, and they utilize the space really well. Highly rec. read more

Went here with my friends. The food was super good. The atmosphere was great and upbeat and the service was on point. Every time I'm in London I'm definitely coming here! We had a lot of food which we shared. I really liked the blackened shrimp, fried okra and the monk fish curry. All delicious! Naan was great too! read more

Took my family here for their first time tonight for dinner... the service and food exceeded our expectations! I've only ever ate at the Shoreditch location (which is super hot during summer months and crowded) but this location was phenomenal. Perfectly cool temp inside, they dim the lighting for dinner service, and it did not seem as crowded. Very well ran establishment! The staff seemed to communicate well, and they were immensely friendly and helpful! My sister (who is a huge Indian food fanatic) claimed it was the BEST Indian cuisine she's ever had. My parents, who are difficult to please, loved it so much they asked if I could make another reservation during our holiday trip. We will definitely be deprived of food like this back in America. Highly recommend ordering the black daal, chicken tikka, chicken ruby, gunpowder potato's, blackened prawns, vegetable samosas, basmati rice, garlic naan (like 5 orders lol), tandoori chaat, house chai, chocolate pudding, pistachio kulfi, and the India gimlet. We basically ordered half of the menu when it came to food - well worth it! Also, thank you to our server for the absolute best service. My family and I were celebrating me graduating, my sister announcing her first pregnancy, and Father's Day for my dad. He was so genuine and made our experience one that we will truly remember and cherish! (I forgot his name - food coma is real). Tip your servers extra here!! They deserve it. I had seen people recommending this place and I happened to be going to London so I figured I would give it a try, but I was fully expecting it to be all hype. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong! Dishoom was just as good as I had heard. We arrived around 10pm and were seated immediately. The dimly lit interior would be perfect for a semi-casual date. My cousin has a pistachio allergy so our lovely waitress Bella made sure to confirm each dish did not have any pistachio contact and the staff reconfirmed when they delivered everything. The food was soooooo good! We got the samosas and the vada pau to start and they brought out 3 accompanying sauces which were so good we bought a container of the hot sauce to take back to the states. We got this locations special biryani which was pretty spicy and came with a puff pastry on top which was nice alone or dipped in the monkfish curry, which was not very spicy but was very flavorful. We also got a paneer roll to go and it stored very well for the next day and was still tasty cold. Regret not having space to try their desserts but I would definitely come back read more

Literally, fantastic. The best Indian food I have ever had in my life - and I live in a town with a huge Indian population. Everything about my meal here was great - every single dish was delicious, the service was phenomenal, and the ambiance inside felt high-end (but not for a high-end price)! My favorite dish was the Dishoom House Chaat, but we loved the Chicken Ruby, Dishoom Chicken Tikka, and everything else we ordered as well! Our waiter was very clear that the spice levels were in "Indian spice" metrics - meaning "mild spicy" could be medium for someone who isn't used to the heat! The waiter gave us a thorough, clear walkthrough of the menu, and personalized recommendations based on our spice tolerances as well as flavor preferences. I can't believe we had a meal this good with such fantastic service for the price that we did, about $30 per person. The highlight of my London trip to be honest! read more

Dishoom once again did not disappoint!! This was my first time at the Kensington location, the ambiance is very art deco with a lot of booths. We of course got the dal which is always the best!! We also got two styles of paneer as well as chaat and all were delicious. Service was great. Recommend to anyone!! read more
The hype is real. I finally went to a Dishoom restaurant and was not disappointed; every bit of the experience (and I do emphasize the word "experience") of eating there from the service to the food, was impeccable. While I'm not a fan of waiting at a bar for an available seat, I think Dishoom may have changed my mind on that - they had a really great selection of drinks and to someone doesn't drink much but drinks too much coffee, a beautifully crafted Teetotal expresso martini did the trick. I think the courtesy and friendliness of the staff when it came to answering questions I had about the drink, as well as taking my drink to my table once that was ready also really put me in a relaxed mood. Once, I was seated, I got the ruby (butter) chicken, garlic naan, and Dishoom's famous hot chai oat milk infused latte, which at three pounds with unlimited refills, was a steal - it was honestly the best chai I've ever had. The garlic naan was great but the ruby chicken was definitely better than any butter chicken I've had - besides the incredibly tender chicken, there were just more layers of flavors in the sauce that I happily ordered a bowl of rice to soak it up more. The art deco interior of this establishment is also really nice to look at - there's a large clock that grabs your attention in the middle of the restaurant and the hanging lights really take you back a century earlier. I've heard many good things about Dishoom, and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the items that went highly recommended: pau bhaji, chicken ruby, and mutton pepper fry. The pau bhaji had a good amount of heat, and it was very hearty and flavorful. The chicken ruby is like your "standard" butter chicken -- but extremely well done. The chicken is tender and the sauce is the right amount of rich. The mutton pepper fry was the most "unique" item, and it was also delicious. Due to jet lag, I ordered the teetotal espresso martini, and it had a nice spiced kick and some sweetness as well. read more

Dishoom Kensington is more than a restaurant, it's an experience. When I entered this beautiful building, I was immediately greeted by the front desk attendee who promptly seated my party and I. Our server was extremely kind and patient when she explained our menu options to us and allowed us to ask any questions about dish portions and more! The food included multiple varieties (meatless and vegetarian) of various price ranges. The restaurant was not only neat, but it was also trendy and had a warm atmosphere. Our party ordered several menu items which we split, proving the place a perfect family-style dining spot, and we also had bottomless chai all around. Their bathrooms were neat and private and they were attentive to our table with extremely quick service. Incredible Indian food in such a unique, beautiful art deco style dining room. Dishoom was recommended to me by literally everyone I know who's been to London and we were so thrilled there was one close to our hotel! The wait was a bit long when we arrived, almost an hour, but fortunately we were able to sit in the bar after waiting outside. We had a drink and were soon brought to our table. We ordered a few items, the okra fries, black daal, ruby chicken and another chicken dish for which name I'm blanking on right now! Loved every item. The okra fries were probably my favorite but nothing was bad, and everything was chock full of flavor. Service was friendly and helpful. We just wish we would have gone again during our trip, but we will be back! read more

First time trying Indian food and it was good! Just want to mention that a lot of dishes contain cilantro and don't mention it on the menu (to my fellow people that have the cilantro gene that causes it to taste strong/soapy). I did try some dishes without cilantro though and they were really good! The cheese naan was really good with the chicken ruby. Loved the potatoes as well. Also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant! Thanks! read more

I can only say that this was one of the best Indian restaurants that I've ever eaten at . Things started off a little awkward in the beginning but the waiter in the dining area and the food stood up and went above and beyond . The restaurant had a very cozy and relaxed atmosphere . Literally everyone I've talked to about Indian food in London has told me that this place is a must-try. I truly just thought it was OK and feel that there are some local Indian places where I live that I found to be better, but what do I know? A lot of local Indians were present the night I was there so maybe I'm just not well-versed enough in Indian cuisine to be a good judge. The curries we got were good and I really enjoyed the naan. Just the perfect amount of garlic and not too oily. The mango lassis were a hit for me as well. In short, I'm not sure I was wowed enough to be willing to stand in line again for the food. I have to say though that they totally have a process down. When you first get there, you're asked to check in, and you maybe wait about 10-15 minutes outside, and then you're ushered inside the lobby to sit. If there's room immediately in the bar, they seat you there first. Once in the bar, you wait another 20-30 minutes but you're welcome to order drinks before they shift you over to your actual dining table. It's such a great and smart way to keep your customers from going mad while waiting for their table and they make more money out of it. read more
I made reservations 2 weeks ago, but I think it's pretty easy to get, as long as it's not day of. I totally recommend it. The ambiance in here is really cute, kind of like an old diner feel, and it looks like they have live music in the evening time and specific days. The service was quick and the staff was super helpful when it came to ordering since we didn't know more than half the items on there. We ended up ordering the following: Khichia & Chundo - the fried chip thing with like a mango chutney sauce - yum! Mattar Paneer - cheese blocks with veggie curry Chicken Berry Britannia (Biryani) - like an Indian fried rice with tender chicken pieces Garlic Naan - you know what this is - so good! Always a good time and a good meal at Dishoom. I had not been to the Kensington location, and all Dishoom locations each have their own signature dishes. This one had a baked philo dough Biryani and damn was this incredible!! We also had the fiery red chicken tandoori, a few sides and many orders of the naan. The samosas are also boss. It gets way loud, because it's super crowded. Also there will be a wait. But Dishoom is so worth it! read more
Usually a long queue, we strategically popped in on a Sunday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. There was no queue, but there was a bit of a wait. We sat at the bar with a buzzer. 25 minutes later, we were at a table ordering drink and food. Here's our experience. 1) Food: The menu is very large and your server will walk you through it. For myself and my six-year-old daughter, we finished the chicken ruby (their version of butter chicken), the chicken berry biryani, plain naan, and cheese naan. Before our food arrived, a small plate of three delicious sauces came out. We devoured everything! The chicken ruby sauce dipped with the cheese naan was my six-year-old daughter's favorite. 2) Drink: Orange wine, non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, chai, their drink menu is large. I ordered two servings of chai and a 1948 sour cocktail. Both were very tasty. The sour was more sweet than sour, but very refreshing. 3) Service: It was spectacular! The moment we sat down, we were greeted and there was never a long wait between ordering and food arriving. At the end, our server treated us to ice cream on a stick! 4) Space: It's styled after the Irani cafes of India that no longer dot the streets. It's old school in an inviting and classy way. Lights are not bright and old photos decorate the walls. 5) Kid-Friendliness: While we waited for a table at the bar, my six-year-old daughter was given a coloring page and a crayon box with four colors-blue, green, red, and yellow. Once at our table, our server acknowledged our daughter first and handed her another box of crayons. "Here's the menu. Have at it with color," the server said. They also have a kids menu and will point out less spicy meals on the adults menu. Also, they brought out two flavors of their ice cream on a stick as a gift. So kind! read more

Dishoom - We came for lunch, and they seated us right away. The staff was friendly, and it was super baby friendly. There was a family bathroom, perfect for changing diapers. The general restrooms were also super clean and nice. The food was incredible, and the ambience was really cute and cozy. We ordered: Chili chicken- amazing 10/10 - spicy Kingfisher lager: 10/10 classic beer Cheese naan 10/10 Chicken ruby: this is a curry 10/10 Next time would love to order a grilled meet go out with the three sauces they give tables. The sauces were amazing. read more
