Came by for breakfast the other day and it was a decent experience. Dishoom Shoreditch is conveniently located near a bus stop. Dining is available both indoors or outdoors in the covered seating area. Service was attentive by the staff. Started off with the chai and it was decent. I think their chai used to be more fragrant. Moved on to the wrestler's naan and it was gigantic featuring freshly baked naan cream cheese, ketchup, eggs, streaky bacon, along with sausages. The wrap was a touch hard to eat too! The restaurant was 20% full during a weekday breakfast. The restaurant was offering some type of loyalty card at checkout. Paying is done via QR code and credit card...which leads me to ask the question...what is the 12.5% service charge for then?!?
Dishoom absolutely delivers on flavor. Every dish we tried had depth, heat, and that layered spice that lingers in the best way. The prawns were good, perfectly cooked with bold, punchy seasoning. My biggest recommendation: go big with your ordering. This isn't the kind of place where you stick to one or two plates. The magic really happens when you try a wide variety and share everything around the table. It's much better suited for larger groups than a small, quiet dinner for two. Service was solid, attentive without hovering, and the overall vibe is lively, energetic, and fun. It feels like a place meant for conversation and passing plates back and forth. Only minor knock: oddly enough, the toilets weren't as clean or as vibey as the rest of the restaurant, which felt a little off-brand given how polished everything else is. That said, 100% worth the visit. Go hungry, bring friends, and order more than you think you need.
Dishoom is always a go-to while in London. Everything is so flavorful, so fresh and so delicious. The restaurant has such a great energy and is always lively. The staff is friendly and attentive. I do recommend a reservation as I have never seen it not busy. This restaurant is also a great option if you have vegetarian/vegan folks in your group as the menu has something for everyone. My personal go-tos - chai tea, house black daal, and the chicken ruby. I highly recommend Dishoom if you are in London!
Amazing Indian restaurant on the pricer side but worth it. You can't make reservations but you can wait in line. They give you complimentary drinks while you wait and the line moves fast. They then let you get a drink in the bar area while you wait. The atmosphere is super cool and fun. The service from the waiter to the hostess was fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable. They have multiple locations as well. Def worth a stop!
Dishoom had been on our list for weeks leading up to our recent trip. We were able to grab the last walk in table available just before 6pm. The food was mouth watering and oh, so delicious. The chicken ruby was the star of the show, though it did not have much chicken. I would suggest adding more chicken. They recommend that you order 3-4 things and split them amongst 2 people and that is what we did. The interior was very nice and the vibes were high. It was very crowded! We would go back tomorrow if we could! Looking forward to when it expands to the US.
I've really been looking forward to finally being able to give Dishoom a try! I walked-in around 6:30 on a Monday and was quoted around a 20 min wait time (solo dining this time) -- there's a nice bar area for customers to wait and order some drinks/snacks. Ultimately I managed to get seated just around the estimated 20 min :) Per my server's recommendation, I ordered the chicken ruby with garlic naan, and it was definitely a great choice. I loved the depth of the curry flavour, a wonderful balance of umami, creaminess and the (just-right level of) spicy-ness. The meat was so tender and juicy, and very well-infused with the rich curry flavour. The garlic naan, light and fluffy, was a lovely complement to the heavier flavours of the curry (but I wish it had more of a garlicky taste). I also ordered a mango and fennel lassi to drink, which was yummy. The mango flavour was crisp and fresh, and I liked that it wasn't too sweet nor was the texture too thick. I did not taste much of the fennel though. Portion sizes were not bad -- I think it's definitely a higher-end restaurant and the prices reflect that. I'm really looking forward to my next visit already to try some other fantastic dish off their fairly-extensive menu.
Every trip to London, Dishoom was a must. This time round very disappointed their service sucked. Not sure if the quality of their food and services have gone down due to how quickly they have expanded that they don't care about, both service or quality. I feel this place is gaining attention due to the Hype it created when it first opened. When we got there no line which was great seated immediately. We waited 15min before we were attended to. We ordered our drinks and meals at the same time. Appetizers came out no drinks. Which was ok. We asked for water 3 times from our server, she smiled and tapped me on the shoulder and walked away. I'm now confused if water was coming or not so we waived another server and right away got water. Finally got our drinks , which was a soda and wine. So not that they were preparing a fancy cocktail. We ordered chicken tikka which was very spicy and didn't feel like a 2 start, fish curry which was very flavorful, prawns were spicy and delicious as expected. The naans came out very chewy which we all were very disappointed about. We thought it was a bad batch so ordered another serving and plain naan was giving our gums a good stretch. When we told our server she goes that's how naans are supposed to be and I mentioned our garlic naan was fine. Again she smiled and walked away. No doubt our dinner experience here was challenging but what got us the most was the smell of food that carried with us after dinner. Poor ventilation and not sure if this had to do with the kitchen being upstairs or what but we smelled of what we ate through out the evening, that we tried to walk it off but didn't help. We got in our uber headed to our hotel and I could tell our driver was not happy with the smell and put his window down in the pouring rain. Smell stayed with us till our next destination and there was no perfume at the duty free store that helped get rid of the smells. If you pls if visiting this location dress down and be prepared to "to-go" the smell with you.
Came to Dishoom in Shoreditch with no reservation and expected a long wait, but it wasn't too bad. We hung out at the bar and the bartender recommended their special drink, which ended up being amazing. I ordered the murgh malai and the chicken ruby and both were so flavorful and comforting. The garlic naan was okay but it didn't have much of a garlic taste, so that was the only thing I wasn't obsessed with. Overall the experience was great. The vibe is lively but still cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive even with the crowd. I would definitely come back.
Had reservations for lunch at this place. Have seen the long lines at the other locations. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Sat downstairs. Was a little noisy and loud here so it was hard to hear our waitresses response and recommendations. We had the chicken biryani, the chef special - Prawn Pathia, the moan monkfish curry and the vegetarian samosas. Also ordered some naan. The sauce on the Prawn Pathia was so good. The prawns were well marinated and tasted great. The sauce had a spice to it and as well as some tang - tasted like chutney. We needed the extra naan for this and the curry. Fish curry was delicious- the first couple of spoons you could taste the tanginess of the curry but the coconut milk rendered a nice sweet ending. The vegetable samosas came with some chutneys/sayces. Our favorite was the coriander and mint: so refreshing. Definitely coming back next time I'm in London.
*Location / Directions Easy to find. The entrance is fairly unassuming but as you walk in and up to the greeters, it's very nicely decorated. We had a group of 4 and the wait at the time was 45 mins. Enough time for us to find seats at the bar and order drinks. *Drinks / Cocktails The bartender offered to walk us through the drink options and offered water as well. I am a huge fan of old fashions and a huge fan of anything coconut flavored so this old fashioned was absolutely amazing! The margarita was pretty standard but also very good. *Appetizers / Entree The food was freaking AMAZING! Packed with flavor, spice, fresh ingredients and the perfect blend of seasoning. We were all blown away with every item we tried and could not pick a favorite among the choices. The lamb chops were seasoned and prepared to perfection and the naan was incredible. I can go on and on, but I'll leave it there. LOL *Service From the greeter, to the bar tender, and from the server to the staff, the service was nothing short of welcoming and professional. Each person played their parts wonderfully and made us feel like we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. They were attentive, patient, and very helpful throughout our visit. * Conclusion Run! Do not walk to Dishoom! We were told that they are a chain restaurant and that they'll be opening a location in New York at the end of 2026. If all their chains were as awesome as this one, this will be great for the U.S. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend it when you're in London and want a unique and memorable experience. 10/10
This is by far the best Indian food I ever had. I like curry, but every time I always worry about smelling like Indian food or upset stomach after dinner, well I don't have to worry about any of those this time. The food was excellent, that Chicken Ruby was on point, it has hints of spicy and I just want to dip everything into that sauce. The PRAWN PATHIA has more spicy but with so sweetness to balance it. The naan and rice were also great balance, I need like 10 more naan for my sauce!!! The surprise was the grilled greens, I can tasted that they fresh off the grill and also the dressing that comes with it were excellent. This restaurant was also beautiful and staff were professional. I will come back every time I come back to London from now on!!!

A highlight of my trip to London. The wait is definitely long, but the small drinks in line and the bar area were nice to hold us over. The servers are busy, but kind and considerate. I'm dairy-free, and there was a whole menu with options I could choose from. read more
This is the best Indian food I have ever had!!!! We waited for over an hour, but it was definitely worth it. The waitress brought us lemonades and chai tea while we waited. The chai tea was absolutely delicious. I tried the chicken ruby and it was flavorful and fresh. The garlic naan was also very good. I would recommend getting several different items and sharing them with everyone at the table. I am so glad we found this little gem! read more

One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. The staff here is very attentive and on top of things. They walked us through the menu and also checked ingredients for us since we don't eat egg and many of the dishes have egg that you wouldn't expect (the naan is coated with egg, for example). The food is delicious and some of the best Indian food you'll find anywhere. My wife and I loved the chaat and chai. The chai especially was amazing. It was funny, we finished our glass of chai and a minute later somebody came over with fresh glasses for us. We didn't even have to ask for a refill. They also gave us a free dessert since we came for our anniversary. Would highly recommend Dishoom to anyone visiting London looking for a fun and tasteful experience. read more

Dishoom slaps!! The hype did not disappoint. The chocolate chai was the best I've ever had and the chai was amazing. Got in quickly and was able to get our drinks at the bar first. Service was great with a manager/?owner walking around asking everyone how their food was. Could not recommend more!! read more

This was the first time we went to Dishoom for breakfast. I ordered The Vegan Bombay, Akuri and Kejriwal. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! The server helped us to choose from many breakfast items and was really patient. I was a bit skeptical about their vegan sausage, but it came out to be really good unlike the frozen or impossible sausages that we get. The whole vegan bombay plate was a fusion of english breakfast but with indian flavors, which came out to be really good. Akuri was made of tofu but it tasted like paneer, the spices and flavour were just like paneer bhurji. The showstopper however was their bottomless masala chai. Really loved it in the cold morning! The ambiance of the place is quite luxurious. read more
The must get meal in London! All my friends recommended this place but I was skeptical of food in London. But boy, was I wrong! This place is absolutely delicious and not the Indian you normally get as these are flavors from Bombay. We got the house black daal, chili cheese toast, and mattar paneer and we loved it all. We also got a couple of drinks as well, beer/cider as well as hard drinks. The hard drinks are a little small but delicious. We also waited outside for a bit and they were passing out sherry and chai. The chai was amazing, and I wish I ordered that. We loved the meal so much, we also ordered it for takeout less than a week later. While not as good, still great! read more
I'm typically not a fan of Indian food in the states. I really never have been, but everyone tells me that Indian food in London is a MUST. So with that being said, we asked around and Dishoom was recommended by like 4 out of 5 people.... so off we went before a wedding no less and damn, it was the best Indian food I've ever had. We had ruby chicken, naan bread, rice and some chilli chicken and broccoli. The veggies and the chilli chicken was PACKED with flavor but I really liked the ruby chicken, I think that's their version of tikki masala? Everything wasn't super heavy, like it is in the states, not sure why this is every country I go to, but we make all our none american food super heavy. If you're ever in London and you don't like Indian food, I would recommend trying this spot. read more
Our first meal @ London, also first time in London. I have read many good reviews and it was on Feed Phil show on Netflix show so I made reservation prior to our trip. What I didnt realize is that this restaurant was a big franchise restaurant so I didnt know what to expect. We had vegetable samosas, and chefs choice menu and it was delicious. It didn't have too strong of taste but perfectly flavored, we really enjoyed our first meal in London. Server was very friedly and casual setting. read more

Long Line for a reason! This place has been a staple for my visits to London for over a decade. The ambiance the fun with warm mood lighting. They have a great seasonal cocktail menu with well balanced drinks. The chili chicken is the best thing! read more
Being that they have a few locations in London I was 100% on board with this pick...after my visit I take back that statement. Such a beautiful interior! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the host who took my name and encouraged me to have a seat at the bar while I waited. The menu is large! I didn't know where to start so I started with a cocktail. Would recommend getting their early even if you have a reservation as the bar was happening! I love the open concept into the restaurant so you can continue to watch the bartenders work. I started at the bar with the Bolly bellini and the lamb samosas. Amazing. They come with three different dipping sauces. I was kind of sad I wasn't at my table and couldn't keep them for the rest of dinner. Once I was seated at my table my server made some recommendations and help me determine parings. I wish I was with a big group to order more! I decided on the chicken tikka and garlic naan. DO NOT SKIP THE GARLIC NAAN. Overall, this pace was incredible. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in London. read more
Oooh. We were lucky (not an unsat seat when we left) enough to gets seats as a walk in and it was really nice of the staff to squeeze one more order of breakfast in for us. I liked the food - i went big with the double bacon - and all the chai i could ask for (4 servings which might be the reason I'm still up?). We also weren't rushed which was refreshing. Indian food was top of my list for my trip to London so the stakes were high - Dishoom did not disappoint! I loved the feel of the restaurant inside and out - it felt nice but also comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful, very willing to help with the menu and give recommendations. I started with the house chai, which you cannot pass up - so good!! Then the vegetable samosas, chicken ruby, and garlic naan. I was impressed by the great prices as well for the quantity of food. Would definitely go back! (Side note: I expected it to be crazy crowded from what I had heard about it so I went super early and even by the time I left there were still plenty of tables. Granted I ate at 5pm :) ) read more

We ate at Dishoom Shoreditch for our last night in London, and it was delicious. The line was around the block to get in, so we did have to wait a long while, but it didn't disappoint. The food was unique and creative. Additionally, upon leaving, we had an issue/altercation with our Uber driver and when I went back into the restaurant to ask for help, the gentleman working came out front and was amazingly understanding. Afterwards came to learn he didn't realize we had dined there, had just come to be helpful, which made it even more awesome. Thank you for your kindness. read more

The lamp chops with garlic naan and black house daal was absolutely delicious. There was a lot of black daal so I definitely feel like that should be shared with the table, but everything else was well portioned for me. My coworkers raved about this place so I knew that when I visited London I had to eat here. I'll be returning. read more

Our first meal in London and we were pleasantly pleased! Service was great. We got seated immediately with no reservations at 5:40pm for a table for 2 on a Friday rainy night. Score! Love the spices! Fan of these dishes: * Prawn Koliwada - small appetizer * Chaap Pineapple Tikka - I actually thought it was chicken and marveled how buttery and tender it was! Lol and then found it was soy. * Garlic Naan - can't go wrong with these classic! * House Chai - unlimited refills! It was like drinking a dessert! * Pistachio Kulfi - creamy ice-cream on a stick, yum! * Basmati Rice Not a fan of these dishes: * Chilli Chicken - it was made up of more onions and sauce than chicken * Mutton Pepper Fry - curry sauce was good but didn't like the taste of the mutton (old lamb) * Chocolate Chai - tasted like hot chocolate * Spicy Lamb Chops - my bf liked it. I was like, eh. Total bills was 82.80 pounds, which is about $92, tip included and no tax! Not bad for a fancy full dinner for 2! read more

Was told it was an hour wait to dine and it was well worth it. Served warm chai and mint tea while we waited. Charismatic bartender made me "the best margarita" ive ever had after I explained my tequila deprivation whilst traveling europe. Once seated our waitress came in hot- prompting us to simply reply "yes" to every dish suggested. Family style is the way to go, and I wish we were a family of 20 to be frank. Booked a reso for another night this week to ensure the smell of dashoom on my cheap leather jacket could be renewed before departing london. Yummy stuff deshoom, see you soon read more

Holy smokes. The hype is real but warranted. Dishoom left no room for critique. Starting with the long wait being eased with free lemonade or chai or sherry! Once you make it to the hostess, she gives you a buzzer and a slot at the bar for drinks and small bites. Once you reach the table, you're happy and satisfied and ready for a main course. Our table left no stone unturned. We got the Roti, garlic naan and plain naan. Chicken biryani, chicken ruby, greens and the roasted corn on the cob. Wow, this meal was beautiful and complex and simply delicious. A week later, I'm still thinking of this meal. I'll return to London from Houston for this meal alone. read more

Due to all the hype around this spot, my family and I decided to try it last weekend on our trip to London. Our server was extremely helpful and ran us through the popular items and his personal favorites on the menu. We ordered the chicken tikka, black Dahl, prawn curry, gunpowder potatoes, lamb kebab, and the cucumber salad. The food was more than satisfactory and everyone was happy with what we ordered but it didn't have the particular authenticity that I was looking for. However, Dishoom does seem to advertise itself as a more modern/fusion take on Indian cuisine, and I believe they do a phenomenal job at reinterpreting traditional flavors in a fresh new form. read more

Tip: enter through alleyway. Saw dishoom on Somebody Feed Phil and had to go. I had the double bacon Naan roll and fire toast. DELICIOUS, I can't wait to go back just for the breakfast. My mom had the "pancakes" I can't remember the name but she is allergic to wheat so she really enjoyed these, she also had the Akuri which was also delicious. On top of that I noted that we were celebrating her birthday and the gave a great gift! Thank you to the great staff and loved the delicious food, so excited to go back! read more

Yum! So glad to have gotten this recommendation from a foodie in London. I really liked knowing they give a meal to someone in need for each meal purchased. Also really easy to pick vegetarian options from the menu. I tried the black daal and vegetarian samosas. Both were delish but too much food for one person. read more
Dishoom was quite the experience for a newcomer to London. The Indian and irali inspired cuisine was delicious. However, be warned, this restaurant has a longggg wait. It was nice that they offered everyone waiting on line some shandy and chai to hold you over. The food is family style or shared entrees. Our party got a few but our favorite was definitely the ruby curry. The portions were generally big as well. The garlic nana was flavorful and the chutneys were a very good addition to your dish. We had no reservation, but the wait wasn't too bad: 45 minutes, considering. They served us House Chai Tea and sherry while we waited. These drink samples were amazing! Please try both, you won't regret it! The staff were all wonderful and friendly. The food was delicious! Here's what we ordered: Garlic Naan - really good Prawn Koliwada - salty, crispy morsels served with chutney. Chicken Ruby - silky and flavorful, the chicken was tender. House Black Daal - deeply flavored that pairs well with the Naan. Mango & Fennel Lassi - it's okay. I found the taste a little bland compared to lassis I've had in the past. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely come back. read more
A religious experience. A meal that almost brought me to tears. I ended up flying back to the US with their cookbook, a set of spices, a tote bag, and their "incense." Do not skip the Black Daal or the House Chaat. An unforgettable meal. read more
If there's one place you absolutely must eat at in London, it's Dishoom. Fair warning, if you go on a weeknight, you will wait in line. But trust me, it's worth it! While waiting in line, we were offered complimentary chai and mint tea. Fabulous by the way. We waited about 1.5 hours on a Saturday night. Once inside, you're transported to another world. The restaurant is beautiful inside and all the guests are very cozily sat together. Soak it all up. We ordered the vada pav, lamb curry sandwich, and the Ruby chicken (murgh makhani), along with rice and roomali roti. It was all so fabulous and delectable. The service was very quick and hospitable. Honestly, it was my favorite meal of my London trip and I'm glad it was my last. I think for the atmosphere and quality of food, this is very reasonably priced. Next time I'm in London, I'm definitely coming back. read more
Dishoom has got to be one of the best Indian restaurants I've visited! Inspired by the Irani cafes of Bombay, Dishoom today offers a modern, trendy atmosphere with amazingly friendly service, great drinks, and if you come late, long waits! That being said, as we waited, we were entertained the entire time by the bartender, and after ordering, the food came out lickety-split! The waitress started out by bringing us three chutneys that went well with every dish, though I was partial to the refreshing green cilantro-mint chutney. The Shakarkandi Chaat was a special dish they were offering for Diwali, and this flavorful mixture of fried sweet potato chunks topped with shredded beets, radish, carrots, along with yogurt and tamarind was an explosion of flavors and mouthfeels--it was sweet, tangy, savory, crunchy, soft, and creamy, all at the same time! The Gunpowder Potatoes were simple potatoes grilled, broken apart, and tossed with seeds and green herbs, but they had an amazing flavor and the heat was toned down nicely with the yogurt sauce that came on the side. The "Bowl of Greens" was an excellent vegetarian side dish of grilled broccoli, kale, and green beans, tossed with chili and lime--nothing crazy, but very tasty. But my favorite dishes had to be the signature Black House Daal, a deep, creamy, rich stew of lentils cooked for over 24 hours; as well as the Paneer Pineapple Tikka, which were marinated and grilled paneer slices served alongside grilled pineapple slices for a sweet and tangy twist! On the side, we also ordered the very thin Roomali Roti and the Garlic Naan to go with the dishes, and every last bite was flavorful and delicious! On top of the amazing food, great atmosphere, and friendly service, the prices here were just unbelievable for the quality of food you get--just come early to avoid the wait! read more
