We met friends on March 7 and it happened to be their 1-year anniversary. They had some nice specials and raffles to celebrate. I tried the grapefruit haze and south side and both were really good. Service was great as usual and space feels upscale. Happy anniversary DH and looking forward to many more visits in the future.

Wifey and I stumbled onto Dismal Harmony Distillery while in Morristown and stopped in to give it a try. Yes, we knew before walking in that the drinks were probably going to be expensive as these small batch local distilleries always are, but we weren't gonna say no. Took a little while to figure out which drink we wanted, but once we did it was simply delicious. Wifey ordered the 'Holden my Drink' and I ordered 'The Back Nine.' Both drinks, though very different, were both refreshing and drinks I could have all summer on the patio. We got to chat with the bartender a bit (I mean, at a place like this you really should) and learned a bit more about our the place (only open for four months), the different alcohols they serve, and the menu (the bartender and owner create the specialty drinks, it changes regularly, and they have some that aren't in the menu). Seems like a place that requires a return...and it will be soon!

Outstanding staff, service, and most importantly great product. Mixed drinks were thoughtfully put together and the spirits themselves truly shobeWill be back and would highly recommend.

This is a must try for cocktails! I've never been to a cocktail bar where every single drink on the menu looks, sounds, and tastes delicious. There is truly something for everyone and extremely unique flavors. The staff are also incredibly helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. The drinks are a bit pricier than your average place (approx $17/drink) but definitely worth the few extra dollars. Such a cute new find! They have incredibly unique liqueurs that are worth trying! We ended up buying the libertasse, monk, and vidisha masala.

Can't say enough good things about this distillery! I wasn't drinking that day so the bartender was able to make me a great mocktail, and my sister and SIL both thoroughly enjoyed their drinks. Our bartender really made the experience though!! We were there on the first day of their fall menu, so he let us taste little samples of all the unique ingredients in the new drinks and talked us through how they make them. I took home a bottle of their own masala liquor, and got a few suggestions from the bartender on how to use it. I've already tried it in hot cider and can confirm that was SO. GOOD.

Came here twice in a trip to Morristown: has a wonderful vibe, let's you bring food, knowledgeable staff I got a gin sour drink with grape, limoncello, and gin. Really delicious. A girl in our group got a flight of liquors and they were so unusual but SO good. Really surprising. We also had a non drinker with us and they did a great job making her mocktails All in all a great experience

Bartenders here are knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks are expertly crafted. You don't taste the burn of the booze but definitely feel its effects. The flavors are well balanced and complement the spirits. Drinks also come aesthetically presented.

Absolutely LOVE it here! We always stop here after dinner for drinks. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and I always try something new. Awesome spot and definitely ask about their specials!

Mini cocktail flight in the patio. One was a Negroni, all were good. The salt was amazing and I forgot to ask what kind it was.

Tucked behind the Morristown Diner you'll find this north Jersey gem that's worth seeking out. The inside space is really beautiful and while the outside seating is covered, you're still sitting in a parking lot. They offer flights of their spirits that are made on site (you can see the stills inside), as well as a flight of mini cocktails. They also make a wide variety of liqueurs, which I think is extra cool because the cocktails are 100% Morristown-made! Fresh herbs and house-made syrups are an excellent touch and show they're serious about their products. Service is super friendly and knowledgeable. You get the feeling they'll talk to you about booze for as long as you want. You can buy their products by the bottle as well.

Great atmosphere, good drinks, bring your own food. They distill their own gin and vodka in house; right now the bourbon is imported. We tried old fashioneds, Manhattans, and a complex gin drink with mint and cucumber. All were good, all about $16. They also make a masala spiced liquor that you have to try, sweet yet spicy, unlike anything anywhere else. Nothing dismal about it, worth a visit!

We asked for some suggestions and he was helpful. Inside is nicely decorated and we sat in the booths bar the bar which was comfortable. It does get loud as the night goes on but that's not a bad thing, We got the skirt steak tacos, fried chicken sandwich and skirt steak. Amazing! Also a really good espresso martini and a tasty Cosmo! I would definitely return.

Despite this, the manager refused to provide our party with the brunch menu and insisted we order from the regular menu, even after we politely requested otherwise. It later became clear that this decision was based on the size of our party rather than an actual menu policy. The manager repeatedly claimed that brunch ended earlier than what was printed on the menu, which was confusing and inconsistent. After unnecessary back and forth, the chef ultimately approved our ability to order from the brunch menu, confirming that this was not a kitchen issue. This was especially disappointing as we were celebrating my son's birthday, and what should have been a pleasant occasion was unnecessarily stressful. The manager's approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and confrontational. In contrast, our waiter was excellent. He was attentive, courteous, and did everything possible to make the experience positive despite the circumstances. Honoring published menu times and treating guests with respect are basic service expectations. Unfortunately, poor management overshadowed what could have otherwise been an enjoyable celebration.

Stirling Tavern is a casual but polished neighborhood bar and grill with a trendy aesthetic and a…read morecozy ambiance; a menu featuring classic pub favorites elevated a notch above your average bar fare with gourmet ingredients; an innovative and seasonally-updated adult beverage program; and attentive and friendly service. The space on the first floor is divided into a lively bar area with plenty of TVs and a slightly quieter main dining room with comfortable booths and tables. There is also seating on an outdoor terrace on the second floor and a few tables in front of the restaurant on South Street if you're up for dining al fresco. It's a terrific option in Morristown that's sophisticated enough for a date on the outdoor terrace when the weather cooperates or a pre-theater meal in the dining room, yet casual enough for beers and appetizers while watching a game in the bar area. The menu captures the essence of modern American comfort food. Whether you're grabbing the Stirling Burger ($18) -- made from a tasty short rib and brisket blend -- or splurging on the Grilled New York Strip ($48) topped with crabmeat fries, the quality is evident. They are also great with dietary restrictions. Between the various poultry, fish, and vegetarian options on the menu and the kitchen's willingness to make moderate accommodations in any other dish, there's something for everyone. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. We recently celebrated my niece's 21st birthday here, and our server made it memorable by honoring her milestone birthday by playfully asking for her ID EVERY SINGLE TIME she ordered a drink. It became a running joke for the night and made the occasion feel extra special. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars for me is that both sides of the main floor can get pretty loud when it's packed and the prices are a bit on the higher side for casual dining. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Stirling Tavern offers a Happy Hour Monday through Friday between 3pm and 6pm, which features specials on certain cocktails, wines, beers, and light snacks. You must be seated at the bar to take advantage of the promotional pricing. If you enjoy a good Old Fashioned, try the JB ($10), made with Four Roses bourbon, blood orange amaro, orange & angostura bitters. PRO TIP #2: Stirling Tavern does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of paid on-street parking on South Street or Maple Avenue. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, paid parking is also available in the Morristown Parking Authority Lot #8 (@ 10 Franklin Street) and Vail Parking Area (@ 110 South Street). FREE on-street parking is located on MacCulloch Avenue, just two blocks from Stirling Tavern.

First, overall I'd say the food was very good on all five visits. The first two nights, I had dinner here. On the first night, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a bowl of the French onion soup and the halibut. The soup wasn't huge for $12, but it tasted good, and the halibut was quite flavorful. I didn't realize at the time, but they add in an 18% gratuity, so tip extra at your own risk. On the second night, I ate at a table with two coworkers. I had the chicken paillard, which was a large portion and also very good. Service was strong at both the bar and table on consecutive nights. For the three breakfasts, I pretty much had the same thing every day...an omelette with a side of fruit. It also came with potatoes, but it would've been nice if it came with toast or something similar without needing to pay extra. Again, food was good. Service the first day was fine. The next two days, the older gentleman providing service couldn't have cared less. I (and others) would show up at 6:30, when they opened, but nobody would be there. We'd sit ourselves and then wait. Eventually he'd show up. It was difficult getting coffee too, as both days, my cup sat empty for a long time until I'd eventually flag him down. Everything was on his time. I would've given him little/no tip...if the 18% wasn't already added in. The rest of the restaurant...food and service...gets a 5. This guy gets a 1. I probably should've given this a 3, but it didn't seem fair to everything/everyone else.
