I went here for the Super Bowl - so I assume service changes on a regular night. The bar was well lit and clean especially considering how many people were there. The drinks are amazing! My table all got prickly pear mules, which perfectly balance the sweetness with a subtle ginger flavor. The food was as you would expect. I was surprised the salad came without dressing. The sliders were a Super Bowl deal - which was 10 for $20. I thought this was a great deal considering 4 people ate them and were full afterwards. I would compare them to a White House quality. The one thing I thought was a little strange was that a server incorrectly served us a dish, and when it was realized, re-served the same dish to another table. In my past experience serving, if it was incorrectly served it should be taken to the back and not served again. It was a great open space for good use of watching the game very quaint but a little shaky on the way in. I know it's a area that has less diversity but it seemed like a nice place to eat. The food was nice but when you are waiting for the basic food that shouldn't be a question of service. We was having to ask for more condiments when it just should be obvious. I loved our server she was a peach. It just could do more with better feel of community for all and not just serving dry chicken when it could have been cooked better. Anyway it was a nice place to eat if your a sports buff but they need more tables that let people touch the floor instead of sitting up like toddlers but this was in NJ let's see if the one in NY does it differently....I hope they change their ways for community to keep us ALL good paying customers read more

This place is an actual health risk. We came in on Saturday night and we all left genuinely deaf. My hearing literally still hasn't recovered, I'm worried there's permanently damage. The music actually hurt multiple people's ears right away but everyone was there and I didn't want to be a party pooper but I really wish that I had just left immediately. The house was far from packed on the Saturday before St. Patty's and it's not a mystery why. A) the music was so loud that ears physically hurt B) the music they were playing was really hit or miss, one fun song followed by two that killed the crowd C) drinks were small for the price and mediocre. The crowd that hangs here is very young and most were behaving like they were born in a trash can. I sound old saying that but it is what it is. I'd rather pay significantly more for a better environment and leave with my eardrums intact, but who else will hang out there with the treble exploding people's drums? Try The Laundromat down the street, we spent hours there after Iron Bar and it was one for the books. read more

Dropped in on a company holiday party here, and they had the basement bar open for us; big space with a DJ, and a buffet with fruit, cheese, veggies, hummus. The fried general cho's cauliflower was good; the sliders and chicken sandwiches were both good. The mozzarella sticks were ok, and the wings were so-so. Minimum tab to reserve included the DJ , food, and drinks ordered. Lots of drinks, but a little disturbing was getting sodas and having little bugs in the cups for the first couple (dirty tubes?). The way I was treated by bouncers at this bar was absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. I had a drink completely dumped on me so I splash a little back. No other words or actions were done or said. But I am the only one who gets man handled and thrown out. When I asked for the name of the bouncer who tried to abuse his power and act like he had a badge, I was turned away. This bar will not be open for much longer if they continue to hire inexperienced and power hungry bouncers. Horseshoe Tavern, Grasshopper, and countless others are much better options. read more

This place was empty on a Sunday. It's such a massive space, but always empty. I came to check out the new Christmas pop-up, (@miraclepopup) where it was supposed to be decorated over the top with Christmas decorations and they serve festive drinks. That was a joke! The decorations were tacky and did not have any more decorations than any other bar. We sat at the completely empty bar. Bartender approached us and we asked for food menus, he walked away. 10 min later and still no menus or acknowledgment. I can see if it was busy, but come on. PROS: Before covid, this bar has been jumping every weekend. They have two floors with different genre of music. The bartenders are always attractive and their drink menu is extensive. Rather than hold our HS reunion at a venue with a sit down rubber chicken dinner, we rented out the basement level of the Iron Bar and went with a 3 hour open bar and buffet of appetizers. Best decision ever! The venue itself was perfect! Downstairs there is a super large rectangular shaped bar allowing for lots of room for mingling and easy access to bartenders. The bartenders did a fantastic job keeping 150 people with drinks, there never seemed to be a wait. Music was great. The appetizers, the few I tried, were good. Truth be told I was too busy socializing to eat! At 10:00 when our reunion was over, we moved upstairs for a little while before going next door to The Office. It was a Saturday night and the crowd was hopping. Definitely a younger crowd, but everyone fit right in. Already planning our next reunion for 5 years out and my vote is to do a repeat. Iron Bar is nice and big, so I definitely recommend bringing a group of friends here. There's a lot of dancing space, if you want some low-key dancing at a bar! I went here the other night for a Halloween party. There is no parking lot so you have to park on the street or walk from somewhere. The event started at 8 but the security guys told us they'd start letting people in at 7:45. This was a lie and there was a line forming outside the bar and everyone was cold. The atmosphere was very loud and the area was packed. They packed us all into the basement of the place and it led to overcrowding pretty fast. The bouncers weren't aggressive but rather stood there and did absolutely nothing. I saw a good amount of people who were becoming a nuisance and the guys just stood there. I love coming to this bar whenever I'm home. Morristown is a great town with lots of things to do (especially in the summer or around Christmas, the town is always decorated). The basement is the best part about it - it's set up like a New York bar with high tables around the floor and plenty of room for talking and dancing. There are some nights when they'll randomly close the downstairs, though, and it gets way too crowded up top. And upstairs, there are only two stalls in each bathroom so the lines get SUPER long and move slowly. The line to get into the bar is also often insanely long and they don't have an efficient way of getting everyone in quickly - there are often people who sneak in right past the crowd of people who had been waiting for 30 minutes. The music is good, though, and they always have sports on TV. Huge drink list with a wide variety of beer. I would call ahead of time to see how crowded it is (or if their basement is open if you're more into dancing, since you won't have room to dance on the top floor). read more

Came here on a Friday night with my friends and we were not impressed. All of the bartenders seemed more interested in each other and their cell phones than they were in serving us. They had $4 well drinks for happy hour which was a good deal. While we were there, we tried the calamari (eh) I also tried the chicken caprese sandwich which was not that great, and the chicken club sandwich which was a bit tastier. A group of six of us came for a friends birthday. We made a reservation and had a table in the basement. It was sometimes difficult to reach our server, but as is most bars. We had a great time, ordered some food (quesadillas, wings, and a soft pretzel- all just mediocre bar food) and even danced (socially distanced of course). On the menu, they clearly wrote that they will charge every table 20% gratuity. The reason I'm giving it a 3 is because they ended up charging 30%! Mathematically with our bill, this is quite a big mistake that the server should have realized. We immediately realized the bill was too much and told the manager so it was resolved. Stood at the front for air and watched multiple kids go through. Security guards and bartender turned on a guy wearing scrubs (he was a doctor) because he asked a guy to apologize and was at the bar. I came here for a party so my review is limited to my experience at the party. The party was in their downstairs bar. It was a large area with a big bar in the middle. The space had a brick/industrial feel which was cool. There were enough friendly bartenders to accommodate the crowd. The bartenders were quick to refill drinks and seemed to enjoy their job. Good was served buffet style. There was an assortment of chicken, meatballs, vegetables and potatoes. The food was good. Nothing stood out either great or bad. Iron Bar is a great place during the week to go with friends for trivia on Tuesday. Not only is it a fun environment but there are also $2 tacos, $2 stoli drinks, and $2 beers. Can't find that deal anywhere else in town! Unfortunately trivia has gotten so busy that you need to make reservations weeks in advance. This is my third time reviewing this place. I reviewed it a year and two days ago after opening night. Last night I went to the downstairs opening party they mentioned to me (over a year ago) and here is my little review: Lemme start off with the cons...the downstairs looks ridiculously nice. You feel like you're in the 'Man With The Iron Mask' or in a wine cellar from 'Zorro'. It's GORGEOUS. HOWEVER...do you guys watch Bar Rescue? It's on Spike TV...I've seen a few episodes. Basically, if your bar is failing, you call them up and they'll help you with everything from the menu to the renovation. When I go to a bar now I basically think about how sound travels throughout it or how the flow of the room is, etc. And...the bar is too big. Never thought I'd say that...but damn...the bar is too big. Take a rectangular Lego block. Flip it over...that hole? That's the size of the bar. The outter rim is walking space. And that's not taking into account the couches along the wall of the outter rim. Also, the DJ spins in a corner right next to the exit for the bathroom. So, if you wanna dance, you can't really do it in front of the DJ because there will be tons of traffic. Which is a shame cuz I fought hard to get DJ Licious to play last night and she was KILLING. IT. Best DJ in the game. Skrillex who? There's four bartenders, but I think for a bar that size you'll need two more. I don't think the basement will get as crowded as it did last night since last night was like an inauguration for it, but you never know. Other than that...it was a fun time. But the atmosphere takes a turn for their night life; removing the chairs opening up the space a little more for those that want to stay upstairs and grab drinks. For those that want to brave the downstairs there is a dance floor and DJ with a bar right smack dab in the middle. A little poor planning in my opinion but those that were on the floor didn't seem to mind. There was another area closed off for the Saturday that I can imagine packs more people in. The upstairs and downstairs vary a lot with upstairs being much bright and vibrant with the TVs playing while downstairs is bass bass bass. We live local in Morristown and have often gone to the Iron bar at least once a week. Especially during the winter months after taking a walk, and during these times the place is always empty when other restaurants are crowded. Food and drinks just okay but we have given them lots of business for over 4 years. Not happy about a situation this Friday night, we went in around 8pm after eating dinner at the famished frog for a cocktail and the unfriendly bouncers told us to leave as our dress code was not appropriate. Me (female) nice blouse fancy tank top and capris, my boyfriend regular pants with a plain black shirt but cut off sleeves. Not fancy but by no means sloppy. It was not busy and not much was going on at this time. So we had to leave. Not good since we have been great locals who have spent good money here, and the bar tenders and waitress knows us. Our drinks were good but our food was better. From the Giant pretzel we shared, the perfectly fried sweet potato fries - not soggy with oil or over done - and our quesadillas, all very good. Probably the best bar in Morristown as far as night life. If you want personal space and easy access to the bar, stay upstairs. If you want to feel like a sardine and fight to get a drink, go downstairs. The trade-off is there is a lot more action in the basement, but there is also a quieter side bar downstairs, which offers a view of the club scene without actually having to participate in the club scene. Attention Verizon users (and probably all other carriers): There is little to no cell phone reception in the basement. You shouldn't be texting down there anyway with all the distractions and dancing going on, so just go into airplane mode. Also, bring your earplugs. This place gets bumpin'. read more

I have been coming here for over a year and it was my favorite bar. However an incident took place that will lead me to never come here again. I was enjoying my night with friends when a girl, who I have never met, laid her hands on me and tried to take my personal belongings from my hand. I got her hands off of me once and she laid her hands on me a second time. I defended myself by pushing her away, and then walked away and up to a security guard. I told him what happened and he was very sweet and understanding, and called over another guard. I re-explained my situation to this second guard and told him I would point out the girl who did this. A few minutes later, the second guard was back with the girl who did this to me, and she claimed that the item in my hand that she was trying to take, was hers and that I had stole it from her. Without hesitation, the second guard turned to me and told me to return the item. I refused, as the item was mine (as I explained to both guards previously) and the second guard did not believe me. He told me that both me and the girl need to go upstairs/ outside, and I asked that the first guard I went up to come as well since he was the first one I had spoken to after the incident. The second guard refused, and took ONLY ME upstairs despite saying me and the girl needed to come. I got told I am "welcome back" another time, but for the night I was done and needed to leave. I did not see the girl who put her hands on me first leave. Being a brown woman, I am used to being seen as an aggressive person, but for this to occur at Iron Bar was disgusting. I was treated as a thief and talked to like I was a treat to the well being of the establishment. I will never be returning here again as there is no doubt in my mind that I was the sole one kicked out for my race. read more

Stopped in out of curiosity on a quiet Tuesday evening for a beer. About ten huge TV screens and medium loud music were all going at the same time. I have seen the lines to get in late on a weekend so I think this place fills up then. The DJ booth makes me think it can get really loud! On draft they offer a mix of domestic (Brooklyn, Sam, Yuengling) for $5 and imported (Blue moon, Guinness) for $6. Nothing really unusual, the menu said Duvel but they didn't actually have it. Also sampled a cider, Angry Orchard, was pretty good. Bar staff was v friendly and quick. And, ahem, hot. Can I say that in a review? Well, I just did. :) Iron Bar has a large menu, much more than I expected. Yea of course there's burgers, pasta and pizzas, but also sushi rolls and big salads. Not cheap bar food, the cheeseburger is $11 but not crazy either, the most expensive is shrimp and lobster pasta at $16. Upstairs is a hugely deep room with a mod industrial feel, terrazzo floors, tin ceilings, brick walls and caged light bulbs. You can sit at the bar or at one of the high tables on the opposite wall. No restaurant tables and no big group tables. The facilities are downstairs, don't let the long walk scare you, you'll find it. I was not the oldest guy in the room, thankfully. But with that said, even considering the many good things on the menu this place isn't quite right for me to have a dinner with the guys. Just too noisy, I think IB knows their crowd. read more
