Stirling continues to be a really solid option for a big group. I recently visited with a party of 14. We were able to make a reservation easily online for our large party which I really appreciated. The server handled our big group like such a pro - he kept the drinks flowing and there was not a long wait time for our food. The burger was very solid, but the bun was weighed down with lots of aioli and it was very soggy. I probably would not order this again. I love their negroni here and it's always a must order. Went in ~4:15pm for happy hour bites and drinks, and it was quite busy with people grabbing an early dinner or drinks at the bar. The upstairs area is cute and comfortable with some sofa seating, and also an outdoor patio which seemed to have bar and table seating. The bites were delicious though a bit hard to share. There's plenty of seating in this restaurant on the first and second level. where there were also cozy couches and a bar for those having drinks or waiting for a table. We were there for brunch and the menu has a nice selection of American style cuisine. We ended up ordering the fried chicken sandwich, lobster roll, fig and grilled cheese sandwich, and the breakfast . Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and we were all raving about the delicious french fries with each of our dishes. Service was good, but once the restaurant got crowded, it was hard to flag down our waiter. I needed some additional maple syrup for my chicken sandwich and the waiter stopped by to say it was on its way up from the kitchen, but it definitely took a while before it reached the table. Don't waste your time, the staff is under age. There was fruit flies around my table . When I paid my bill, I left the full amount with a 20% tip. I left the restaurant with my family, five minutes later I get a phone call saying I only paid half the bill after being on the phone with them for 10 minutes going back-and-forth. My expectations were exceeded with the unique options on the menu and I also appreciated that there was an icon next to each item on the drink menu to indicate what kind of glass it comes in. As a huge fan of scallion pancakes, the crab rangoon quesadillas were so good and I would definitely order them again. For our mains, we got the boar ragu gnocchi and winter rigatoni. I came here on Saturday after 'Dessertopia'. It was about 2pm and it was BUSY. We were able to be sat right away but there was a lot of groups there. We started with the Half Dozen Jumbo Wings in the flavor of honey garlic buffalo. They were super crispy, saucy and delicious. They didn't seem that big, but they were great. I wish I had gotten two orders because six wings were definitely not enough. My husband ordered the Maple Everything Fried Chicken Sandwich which was buttermilk fried chicken tenders, spicy maple drizzle, everything seasoning, bacon, and cheddar. I did not try it but he loved it. I ordered the Falafel Burger which was crispy house-made falafel patty, herb dressing, romaine, tomato, cucumber, and red onion. It was good but a bit dry. I liked that it was something different but I probably would order something else next time. The fries that we got with our meals were also very good and crispy. The dessert menu looked good like I said, we just came from Dessertopia and the last thing we needed is dessert. I would like to try this place for dinner, not brunch. We used to consider Stirling tavern our "go to" place on our nights out. We enjoyed the getting there early and having drinks and appetizers before we sat down to dinner. That is no longer the case since the change to the appetizer menu. Where once we would hang out and get 2 pop corns, or fried pickles and something else to go with our drinks before dinner - we now find those items are gone and there is nothing to nibble on while we enjoy our drinks before dinner. Just moments ago, my wife suggested we go elsewhere because the vibe of the bar has changed... no longer a place to hang out and have nibbles and drinks before dinner. We came her with some friends and they did not disappoint! The award winning wings definitely lived up to their name and the cocktails were creative and refreshing! The other apps we got from the flatbread to the crab Rangoon quesadilla were fun twists on bar food but elevated. Unfortunately the entrees were lacking. The goat cheese gnocchi were a little bland and didn't have much tang that you would expect from goat cheese and the special was a paella which was served in a regular dish so I missed the crunchy rice that you would normally get at the bottom of a pan of paella. read more

We were a party of 8 (including two kids) who experiences a lovely Sunday lunch at Stirling. You can tell Stirling holds their food and atmosphere to a higher standard from any other ordinary pub. Upon entering, you'll note the typical wooden, cozy interior of a tavern, and yet the place is bright and airy, which brings it into the modern world. As this was a special holiday celebration, we went from soup to nuts. Collectively, we felt the appetizers and desserts outshone the entrees. There were a few items ordered for the tables - some where instant hits. The burger bites were a particularly big hit. It was a true feat of culinary wonder that the little slider patty was still cooked to medium and juicy despite its small size - and the fact that it was served on sweet potato waffle fries instead of buns? Genius. Other crowd-pleasers were the Mexican street corn flatbread and the truffle parm wings. Other appetizers that were fair but forgettable - the popcorn shishito peppers (tasty but a little weird to eat because they were cut so small - I guess that's what makes them 'popcorn') and the birria egg rolls. Birria is very trendy right now, and one expects a saucy, beefy experience when such a label - there was none of that there. They would have been solid 'short rib' eggs rolls if they were labeled as such - perhaps something the menu coordinator should consider. As I mentioned, the entrees left us a bit disappointed. I think the problem is that Stirling Tavern wants to be innovative in addition to cooking genuine high quality food - and the entrees just tried to do too much and didn't really work. For example, I had the Everything Maple fried chicken sandwich. That it itself is a lot going on - just the maple, the fried chicken (which was delicious by itself), and the everything bagel seasoning - but they added bacon AND cheese on this sandwich, which I found too much and unnecessary. A solid fried chicken sandwich doesn't need a whole lot of additions if the chicken is good. The truffle parm grilled cheese was also a huge let down, and two people at the table ordered it. There was nothing to the sandwich - just bread, with barley any cheese whatsoever - and they didn't really get 'truffle' flavor from the sandwich. If you're going for for a truffled grilled cheese, a good, melty cheese is a must - parmesan would not be my first pick, but rather an addition to another cheese. The other entrees that we had - the salad, the avocado toast - were unfortunately average. (Although one person in our party did enjoy the brie and fig grilled cheese.) Dessert was another high point of the meals. My favorite was the tiramisu creme brulee (which was an great twist on a classic), but the mango sorbet was also very delicious. We also had a bunch of cappuccinos and they hit the spot. Throughout the meal, we had two servers who were incredibly attentive. Plus, their cocktail menu has an exceptional list of crafty drinks that would make any connoisseur happy! I would love to try this place again and see what they have to offer for lunch and dinner! What a find! We visited The Stirling Tavern after arriving into Morristown, New Jersey and this is our kind of place. We were seated very quickly and the person seating us brought over some water for the table. Our waitress was a joy to deal with and was attentive throughout the meal. I opted for the southwest salad with grilled chicken which was served on.bed of spinach and had black beans, corn, tortilla strips, avocado and more. The salad was exceptional and would be something you'd never get tired of ordering. My wife went for the street corn flatbread which had all the flavors one would expect from street corn and was an excellent dinner option. Our oldest daughter went for the fried chicken served with hot honey and a side of smashed, crispy potato salad and snap peas while our youngest opted for the grilled cheese off of the kids menu. Every single bite was enjoyed by the entire table and it seems like you simply couldn't go wrong picking anything off the menu. Shoutout to The Stirling Tavern for having a couple nice mocktails and a few non-alcoholic beers on the menu. I had a very concerning experience at Stirling Tavern during a business dinner with a party of nine last night. The food itself was fine, but the handling of a serious food allergy was unacceptable. During appetizers, we informed our waitress that one member of our party has an onion allergy. We were asked again while ordering entrees, and we clearly reiterated the allergy. Despite this, when her meal arrived and she began eating, she immediately had an allergic reaction with visible inflammation. She had to take her prescribed medication, and we rushed to get her back to her hotel. Her condition worsened--she began vomiting and ultimately had to be taken to the hospital. The waitress was apologetic and admitted she had only reviewed the menu herself and did not confirm with the chef. After we pressed the issue, she checked, and it turned out there was onion in every component of the dish. The manager came over when the bill was presented and did remove her meal and some appetizers, which was appropriate, but his response lacked the level of concern and urgency you would expect given the seriousness of the situation. Even more disappointing, there was no follow-up call the next day, despite having my contact information. This points to a clear lack of proper training and basic food safety protocols. We were fortunate this situation didn't end even worse. I would strongly caution anyone with food allergies to think twice before dining here. read more

FOREIGN OBJECTS IN FOOD!! Wish I was kidding. Ate there last night and still can't get over the horrific experience we had. One person in our party ordered the onion rings, that were so crunchy! They she realized there was part of a bamboo skewer cooked into the battle of the onion ring! When the manger was called over, he asked for the OTHER piece as well that was siting on top of another onion ring on the plate. Minutes later someone else at the table screamed asking "what the hell is that?!" and was crunching on something. It was a FREAKING HUMAN TOOTH OR CROWN that was cooked into the French fries! Manager was called over again, very apologetic, but also said they've "had problems with the distributer of the fries before". Why are you still using them?! I woke up this morning thinking about and realizing how much fried food we saw on tables as we were leaving and that every freaking person eating there last night was exposed to that human tooth knowing they DIDN'T change the oil that fast! So anyone who ate there around 5-7 pm on the night of 1/31/26, you've disgustingly been exposed. We will never go to this establishment again. read more

The hostess told us they would need the table back in 1.5 hours for a reservation, and asked if we were okay with that before seating us. While the restaurant was not busy upon arrival, it quickly filled up during brunch service. We ordered the voodoo wings for the table, which the server recommended as one of the signature appetizers. I liked the ambiance of this place! I was super excited when they bought out the bottled water which was Saratoga. I am GF and do not particularly like spicy foods so we ordered the edamame without the spice and I asked if the salmon could be made Gluten Free. I was told it could. The meal came and the salmon was delicious, but the black rice & carrots, were extremely spicy. The waiter took it back and bought out the sides again. I was able to eat the salmon from the first plate. The second dish was the same level of spicy. A woman in a devil costume came over and she was sweet and apologetic. She offered a substitute salad. I did not want. They ended up taking my meal off the bill & bought a dessert. I thought this was the right thing to do. I would give them another try as I believe the chef is very good, but it might have been partially my fault by requesting something that was not GF. Overall a good meal, with some notes... great cocktails, friendly service, tasty food, though much of the menu is a bit on the spicy side, without noting as such. While we like spicy food, not everyone does, and I was surprised at the level of spice in the sauce accompanying the scallops. I'd also give zero stars for the sear on the alleged seared scallops (see pic, not even the smallest hint of a sear), but they were otherwise well cooked. My husband and kids enjoyed their burgers, though the jury was out on the tavern sauce. The oysters were lovely as was the flatbread, just leave the sauce on the side if you aren't looking for some heat. For some reason, they leave the front door open as the evening gets cooler, I assume for ease of service outside, which made it quite cold inside. Not enjoyable to have to need a jacket through dinner if you're seated near the doors. Went in to grab lunch after being starved all day and wasn't pleased with the atmosphere. Try not to sit outside during summer months, there will be teenagers in groups (6 or more teens) that will wait for you by the Cluck U to finish your service and try to take something from you like a credit card or bag. I didn't feel safe. When you do try to sit inside, there will be flies everywhere that you can't escape. No matter what table you try to move to, the flies sit on your food and hang out. This is all because of an open door in the front and a rooftop bar that also has an open door. Just too many flies on the food and I felt uncomfortable by it the whole time. read more

I was able to have a beet salad with added falafel. The salad was made up of roasted beets, butternut squash, rosemary whipped ricotta, pomegranate arils, pine nuts, apple cider gastrique, granny smith apple, and red veined sorrel. This was loaded with the roasted beets. I could not believe how many there were. They were roasted nicely and paired well with all of the other components of the dish. I just thought there were a tad too many. The falafel patty was not too bad. It was cooked appropriately with plenty of seasoning. The highlight here was the apple cider gastrique. Don't get the spring pea rigatoni. It looks like barf, it's like pea soup poured over green rigatoni. I can't explain how horrible this dish was. I was expecting a lighter sauce. Everything in it was just heavy. Our second waiter was awesome and picked up on my distain for the pasta and asked if we wanted drinks on house from bar. Removed pasta from the tab. The wings were really good and my husband liked his steak dinner and crab/asparagus app. I was just really surprised. So we sat down waited for about 10 mins and the waiter took our drink order. We of course ordered espresso martinis and then ordered the spinach artichoke flatbread and lobster Mac n cheese to share. The flatbread was good but very oily. The Mac n cheese had pasta salad noodles and no flavor. We decided to try one more item instead of a full meal. We ordered the sweet potato sliders. Mind you our waiter was non existent so when he did show it felt like you had to yell out for him. We told him we weren't very satisfied with the dishes except for the flatbread, leaving almost everything we ordered. He acted like he didn't hear any of it. Now comes the check, over 100 dollars later we both felt very sick from something we ate. It's still coming up and not in a good way. I had to stop on the way home to throw up.
