I know there are some mixed reviews on this place, but to be honest, we had a great experience last night. Our waiter was very attentive and immediately took our drink order. We asked for some suggestions and he was helpful. Inside is nicely decorated and we sat in the booths bar the bar which was comfortable. It does get loud as the night goes on but that's not a bad thing, We got the skirt steak tacos, fried chicken sandwich and skirt steak. Amazing! Also a really good espresso martini and a tasty Cosmo! We arrived at the restaurant at 2:50 PM, prior to the stated 3:00 PM end time for brunch, as clearly printed on the menu. Despite this, the manager refused to provide our party with the brunch menu and insisted we order from the regular menu, even after we politely requested otherwise. It later became clear that this decision was based on the size of our party rather than an actual menu policy. The manager repeatedly claimed that brunch ended earlier than what was printed on the menu, which was confusing and inconsistent. After unnecessary back and forth, the chef ultimately approved our ability to order from the brunch menu, confirming that this was not a kitchen issue. This was especially disappointing as we were celebrating my son's birthday, and what should have been a pleasant occasion was unnecessarily stressful. The manager's approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and confrontational. In contrast, our waiter was excellent. He was attentive, courteous, and did everything possible to make the experience positive despite the circumstances. Honoring published menu times and treating guests with respect are basic service expectations. Unfortunately, poor management overshadowed what could have otherwise been an enjoyable celebration. read more

We came here for the miracle pop up and were extremely disappointed. There were a list of things that went wrong. The food first of all isn't great. There was a bug in my glass attached to the ice leading me to think they don't clean out their ice. They only comped us two sodas for the inconvenience. We ordered beer but were told the keg was warm so needed to order something else, then ordered Christmas beers but were told all the Christmas beers were out. And then when we did order a beer it was half full. And to top it all off the service was so slow. We ordered apps and then waited 30 mins to see the waitress again. Once we finally were able to order food, half the food we ordered we were told they're out of. The manager in this place is appalling, didn't even try to help. The place has a nice, lively and trendy vibe. Open and airy on a nice day with one bar that has a window to the outside seating area. There's another indoors bar which was also decorated nicely. There were a lot of servers around. The bartender lacked social skills and didn't make any effort to engage- didn't ask how our day was going, just dropped off the drink menu and walked away. We had to ask for the food menu. He made drinks that didn't resemble what was described in the menu. The chilli margarita didn't have a chili salt rim and was more sweet than spicy. The food arrived quickly and was pretty good. The oysters were hot but the wings came out cold. I'd like to think that this was just an off day and would give them a try again. read more

It was an accident that we came here on Wednesday night. I was meeting friends at a bar near by but we had no reservations so we couldn't get a table. My husband found this place and we went right over. The ambiance here is terrific. We sat at a comfortable high table by the bar with a window view of the street. Lighting was on point and the noise level was low which I prefer. There were also 2 large TVs on each side. I had the shrimp cocktail and the beet salad which I enjoyed. My husband had a French onion soup and a hamburger and fries. He liked it as well. There are a lot of great choices on the menu. Our waiter Camelo was personable and attentive. All the staff I interacted with was nice. I liked this place a lot. It had a very nice ambiance, great service, and very good food. I had the Cobb salad with blackened chicken. Absolutely one of these best. The dressing was not heavy and the leafs still had snap. The blackened chicken was very flavorful. I got to enjoy my lunch outside during an absolutely beautiful day. I recommend the outdoor dining as it is set up well with plenty of dining space to spread out. Stop by and enjoy yourself!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Parkside Tavern. I went around 5pm on Saturday and was seated at the front of the restaurant with a perfect view for people watching. Since the restaurant is known for its Cajun-inspired menu items, and New Orleans is one of my favorite cities, I ordered items that reminded me of my last visit to NOLA. For my cocktail, I tried the Pimm's Cup #9, which had Hendricks gin, Pimms, ginger, lemon, cucumber, mint. It was delicious and very reminiscent of a mule. I also was able to taste Strawberry Fields, which was the perfect summer cocktail - refreshing, light, and fruity. For my entree, I really enjoyed the shrimp and oyster po'boy with garlic aioli. The seafood was perfectly cooked and not greasy, while the bread was lightly toasted and soft. I appreciated how I could choose truffle fries instead of regular fries for no upcharge. Although my meal was quite filling, I saved room for dessert and had the vanilla crème brûlée. It was definitely some of the best that I had! I absolutely look forward to returning to Parkside and enjoying some of the many specials that they offer. read more

I like the vibe in the bar, the music is nice without blocking conversation, the leather booths are very comfortable and the service was super. About 10 draft beers on the menu, about $8 each, fair these days. Cocktails looked interesting, didn't have time for one this visit, about $15 each. The food is mostly pub grub, a burger here is $18 and includes french fries. A Caesar salad with two little anchovies on top and no other protein is $17, that's too much. You can spend $42 on the steak frites but there are more affordable choices too. The fries are shoestring and delicious. 3% fee for using a credit card. In good weather outside has to be great, we visited on a cool evening. read more

I ordered the salmon dinner, and while the salmon was decent, the potatoes were undercooked in the center, which threw it off a bit. Was good for a one-off lunch but probably won't be back again! Arrived a few minutes before opening and they sat out party, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the high chair we were given for my son was CAKED in red sauce and my husband and I had to scrub it down with our own wipes. Considering we were the only people in there at opening, they obviously don't clean the high chairs at all. Food was just ok, especially for such a high price point. Went to Parkside for a girls' night, and we had a great time there. The ambiance is very nice, the food was good, and the service was okay. Since they have recently opened, you can see they are still trying to get things sorted, but hopefully, they will get there soon. The food was good, and so were the drinks. For the desserts, we tried one of each. They were just okay; the chocolate cake was dry, the strawberry crepes cake was good, and the cheesecake was okay--not really worth the calories. I'd say it's a nice place to go for a meal, and I would like to go back in a couple of months to see how they have improved since opening. read more

For an app we got the burrata and crostini special with pesto. The burrata was tasty but the bread and pesto were very salty. For mains we got the prime steak frites with mashed potatoes. The mashed was great but the steak was unseasoned and not worth the price. The branzino came with potato pancake and broccoli rabe. The flavors were good but the branzino was very small. The place Was packed on a Friday night which is kind must be normal We were a party of 4 and had a few appetizers but the short rib nachos and skirt steak tacos were ridiculous. Psssssst. I am always looking for a place that just has a great atmosphere and really good food and Parkside delivered. It feels like a great place to grab a drink, have a nice dinner or just a casual burger, you could easily hang at the bar and watch the game or grab a pre or post movie bite - it's comfortable, it's warm and friendly, but also elevated enough if you're doing a night out and that's what makes it great. I have been here twice now. Once for a dinner and once for drinks and apps. For the dinner, I remember thinking the food was great and liked the atmosphere. Busy and slightly loud, but not too loud. The chairs that are by the window when you walk in on the left are VERY slippery. Not sure if it is because they are on the newer side, but my husband and I kept slipping off of the chair, lol. I swear we were wearing normal pants - the material of the seat is interesting. This time around my friend and I sat outside because the weather was immaculate. Our waiter was super nice, but checked on us a tad bit too much. I almost felt that we needed to rush even though he said don't rush. Espresso martini was made well and the cheese board was nice. Where to start? The idea of this place is great, but it falls short across the board. The main dining area is in the bar area (not a good idea). The circular leather booths are too small and narrow for 4 people (annoying design actually). The live music is a nice idea, but it's too loud for this small room. And the bar crowd is too loud, too, and often profane. Hard to have a family dinner in this noisy environment. The other bar area on the other side of the restaurant is no better. Resembles a hospital cafeteria. Too bright, too crowded, and too loud. The service is mediocre at best. Not enough servers to handle a full restaurant. Also, servers are nice but not really experienced. They don't really hustle and they're forgetful. We had to remind our server multiple times about things we ordered. Wait staff is inexperienced and overwhelmed and not really coordinated. We requested several modifications to our orders. None of them were carried out. And there were items we ordered that never arrived. The shame of it is that the food is actually decent. But the food is buried under all of these atmospheric and service related issues. I'm tempted to give 1 star but the food was tasty and our waiter was nice, even though he's in the wrong business. We won't be back. read more

Came here for a business dinner and we ordered all sorts of food for the table. I tried the shrimp cocktail (large shrimp, spicy sauce), oysters (cooked in butter, careful they are hot!) and salmon and tuna poke (super fresh, sauce on the side for GF folks) as my apps. My main was the prime steak with a side salad since their fries are cooked in a shared fried. Everything was absolutely delicious, cooked well, and flavorful. The steak was tender and at temp. The server did have to check on what they can make GF and I did have to remind her. It would be a lot easier if it was noted on the menu. There are a decent amount of options that can be made GF but note that they do not have buns for the burger or other substitutes like that for pasta dishes. I also got a virgin mojito and there was a bit of a consistency issue between the first and second drink but they corrected it without issue. Overall, you really can't go wrong with coming here. It did get a little loud so just be aware if you're trying to have a business conversation. read more

Ate there twice already. Po boy was about the size of my head but awesome, and shared a bunch of apps the with table and all good feed back. I think it's a great addition to morristown because it not as casual as the grasshopper but not as stuffy as roots (which I love too) it squeezed right in the middle where well dressed good looking people meet to have a killer cocktail, a bite to eat and a good conversation. Morristown must try. Also the coolest outdoor/walk up bar i have seen. Have not sat in that part yet but I am looking forward to it. hate to write a bad review but this place is disappointing. The service is super slow it took about 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks, which were just on tap, and the magners cider I got was definitely stale and watery. Then, I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad and was blown away when I only had 4 small pieces of shrimp in each corner of the plate. For an extra 8 dollars that was almost insulting to see, you would think you would get a full serving of protein. We also got spinach artichoke dip, as well as the tavern burger, which both were okay, not too flavorful. Really wanted to like this place it has a great vibe but unfortunately I cannot pay 25 dollars for a salad that has 7 un-chopped pieces of lettuce with 4 tiny shrimp. I also did bring it up to the waiter and it was blown off which wasn't cool, I think it's fair to question this portion. read more
