Fun entrance, great space, super cover band and mixed crowd made it a fun place to be on an early Friday evening

I'm from out of town and I don't typically like going out at night anymore but damn did I have fun at The Laundromat on Saturday night. The music was the best part! They keep a good mix of 80s, 90s, new, sing alongs, etc. The security guys were nice. Bar didn't take too long, definitely a wait but I've had way worse. Bathroom was a little gamey but it was later in the night and the St. Patty's day crowd was out so I'm sure it's usually much nicer. Definitely give this place a shot. So fun! read more

My girlfriend and I decided to visit The Laundromat, a speakeasy that came highly recommended by friends. From the moment we arrived, the entrance was a standout disguised as a regular laundromat with a bouncer outside. The door itself was cleverly hidden, blending in as a regular washing machine, and if you weren't in the know, you'd probably miss it entirely. Once inside, we descended into a spacious area with two bar stations and a stage set up for live music, which gave the place an exciting, eclectic vibe. Since it was our first time, we asked for the cocktail menu and were fortunate to have Dan as our bartender, easily one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. His drink-making skills were on another level, and we immediately struck up a great conversation. Dan started us off with some unique choices from the menu. I tried the Smoked Apple Fashion, which was incredibly smooth with a crisp apple flavor and a subtle smoky finish. It was so easy to drink almost too easy! My girlfriend ordered the Gangnam Style, which was visually stunning with boba pearls, though not very strong if you're after a more potent drink. Next, I had the Cider House Mule, and it was hands-down the best mule I've ever tasted. They swapped out the typical vodka for spiced rum, and it was a game changer bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. This is when things started to get really fun. Dan, seeing that we were enjoying ourselves, began crafting custom drinks for us, starting with Dan's Malibu Special for my girlfriend. She loves Malibu, and this drink was fruity, smooth, and delicious. It was so good, I had to order one for myself. Dan recommended adding a shot of tequila to give it a bit more kick, and he wasn't wrong this was next-level good. Honestly, Dan's Malibu Special needs to be a permanent item on their menu. It's that good and would definitely be a hit. Dan then served up a Peanut Noir Old Fashioned. I know I know, peanut in a cocktail sounds odd, but it was incredible! I was blown away by how well the peanut flavor worked in an Old Fashioned. It was one of those drinks that make you question why you haven't had something like it before. Dan mentioned that unlike many places that use store bought ingredients, they make a lot of their mixers and components from scratch. For instance, their ginger root is muddled fresh for mules rather than relying on ginger beer, which really makes a difference in flavor and freshness. Following that, I tried a Chocolate Old Fashioned, which, while still very smooth, was probably the weakest of the Old Fashioneds I had that night, but it still went down easy. By this point, I was starting to feel the effects of all these fantastic cocktails, especially since I hadn't eaten all day! I ended my night with a Summer Old Fashioned, garnished with either rosemary or thyme (I can never tell the difference). It had that signature smoothness Dan brought to all his Old Fashioneds and was a perfect end to the night. The ambiance of The Laundromat was fantastic. It had a lively yet relaxed feel, with a mixed crowd of both older and younger patrons. Sports were playing on the TVs, and you could tell the energy would pick up even more when the live music kicked off around 7:30. Unfortunately, we had to leave before that to grab some food (after all that drinking, I needed something in my stomach!). Thankfully, I had the foresight to take a Lyft to The Laundromat, easily the best decision of the night. Overall, The Laundromat is an absolute gem. The drinks were some of the best I've ever had, the conversation with Dan was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for a fun, laid-back night out. I'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable cocktail experience. read more

Well, for one, not even a dryer in the place! Kidding! Of course, this is just a bar, but made for a nice little surprise for my partner :) The next time I came here, I had just met a group of men at The Homestead while I was drinking with my old co-worker and figured they would want to accompany us here. What started as a group of strangers, ended as a group of brothers. The hour I spent with these men was special and I will never forget it. My old co-worker said this is the best Bourbon in town, so of course we had to go in! Not the best Bourbon in town, and then got asked to leave! I gave an extra star because at least we were told to leave in a timely and polite manner. I was not kicked out. read more

I enjoy speakeasy with live music as much as next person but I wasn't able to carry a conversation with my friends in there. Place was extremely loud. After passing through the clever "laundromat" entrance, you descend a large stairwell into a massive space with multiple bar areas to choose from. Seating is limited, so be prepared to stand. A live band provided fantastic music, and my friend and I had a blast rocking out to the tunes. The bartending service was impeccable--every drink I ordered was top-notch, and I was impressed by the overall vibe. I imagine on a quieter night, it would be a perfect spot for pre- or post-dinner cocktails. The atmosphere was fantastic! As soon as I opened the dryer door, live music was playing at the bottom of a gorgeous staircase. Even when the place is packed, there's still room to stand or dance and the staff are very friendly. They do a lot of work throughout the night to clear away drinks and the bartenders craft new ones quickly. My only complaint is that the ventilation from the bathrooms pours into the dance floor so it doesn't always smell great But that can't really be helped, given the building layout. By the line to get in, you could tell this isn't a laundromat, it's a speakeasy. I think it might have been cool if they had real washer and driers so I could've done a load while we were here. The place was big inside with plenty of tables and a few different bar areas. I had a couple captain n' cokes. They were good. They were a little overpriced but this is Morristown. It wasn't difficult to get the bartenders attention for a drink, that's a plus. There was a live band and they rocked. I was shocked at how many people were out maskless in public. This was a fun speakeasy to go to in Morristown. As the name says it was a laundromat and you enter through the back laundry machines. You wouldn't even expect the place you're walking in to, it's so huge and gives off very southern vibes. As you head downstairs it expands to a large bar. Ableist. My sister came here the other night. She is in a wheelchair and the bouncers refused to see if the elevator was working. My sisters friends had to carry her down two flights of stairs. (Which is dangerous). When she got inside, someone who worked there said that the elevator is working. When my sister left the bar she told the bouncers and they said that it's not their job to see if the elevator works and that they don't care. I hope management deals with this situation accordingly. A friend of mine visited this establishment early last month. She is a wheelchair user and asked the bouncers for accommodations to travel downstairs. The bouncers told her the elevator wasn't working and refused to check as it's "not their job." As someone working with customers, it IS your job to provide safe and accessible resources for people with disabilities to be included. Instead of checking the elevator the bouncers had someone CARRY my friend down 2 flights of stairs. This is dangerous and unnecessary for all parties involved. Once she reached the other floor she was informed by another staff member that the elevator WAS in fact working. Ablism is disgusting and completely unacceptable. In 2023 we all should be more aware of different populations of people and attempt to accommodate them when we can. Your pathetic apology is not helping anything. Do better and hire better employees. I've actually had The Laundromat on my list long before I moved to North Jersey. Now that I'm here, I knew I needed to check it out. I stopped by with a few friends on a Saturday evening at approximately 8pm. I like the speakeasy vibe and the legit laundromat set up they have before you head downstairs. By the way, the downstairs area is much larger than I imagined. There is plenty of seating and even with social distancing and reduced capacity, there were quite a bit of people there. Their cocktails menu isn't vast but they had a few drinks that caught my eye. I went with the Gangnam Style (~$13). This drink includes vodka, lavender syrup, fresh lemon, lychee juice, and boba topped with Prosecco. The whole drink sounded super unique but they had me at the lavender and lychee, to be honest. The drink came in a champagne glass which was different than I had envisioned. The Prosecco was the main thing I tasted throughout. The lavender syrup and lychee juice was subtle to borderline nonexistent, in my opinion. The boba was the bursting boba type which had some flavor in it which I liked. The drink sounded a lot better than it actually was. If I come back, I would probably try one of their Mules or get something classic. Headed to Morristown for a night out with my friend. We definitely wanted to try the Laundromat. Anything with speakeasy vibes is my kind of place. I think the entrance is super cool that it seems like you're in a small vintage laundry mat. Once you go through you go downstairs to this nice open space. One pro about this place is how large it is. It's very spacious that if you are coming early on a night that's not so busy, you feel like you have space and no one is bumping into you. We got there right at opening and sat at the bar. There are two bars for busy nights. I got a whiskey drink that was on the menu which was pretty good. I didn't like the fact that the menu was small. There weren't many drink options on the menu to choose from. The bartenders were very nice and did the job of making good drinks. There were only two bartenders that night and kudos to them because once the band played it got busy inside. We actually left to eat (because there is no food) and came back for a night cap while the band was playing. It's still a good place to go and have a few drinks with some friends. There's a lot of standing space and a few tables around. If you don't want a crowd go early. read more

You walk in and it is a laundromat but you go to another door and are transported to a different world! It was very well done. The concept and follow through were great! Holy cow! Were their drinks strong! Admittedly, I'm a lightweight, so it doesn't take much to get me drunk. This place really is dope, and I wanted to love this place. I've never been here pre-Covid, so I don't have a point of reference for comparison. There's only so much the proprietor, and employees can do, while humans are going to human. Barely anyone wore masks when we stopped by this summer with the delta variant running rampant. It was empty-ish when we arrived, however, it got PACKED while we were enjoying our drinks. Honestly I loved this place... but they really screwed me. I was there last Saturday and bought two drinks, closed tab. This week I come to realize that the credit card they handed me was not mine (same type of credit card but someone else's name). Fine, whatever, honest mistake right? So I've called the place several times and left messages to see if they have my card or could get me in contact with the person whose card I do have and no one has bothered to pick up the phone or call me back. Now I will most likely have to cancel my one credit card that is literally attached to all of my accounts... not cool. A call back would have been the right thing to do at least. read more

Loved this place. Came here at the suggestion of a coworker while traveling for business. The ambiance was unique and comfortable! The drinks were great! They mentioned they had fresh watermelon so I had a watermelon mojito, a watermelon toquilla drink and sangria. Very cool place! Walk through a mock laundromat towards doors that look like washing machines. Go through the doors and down stairs to a nice looking room with two nice size bars and a small stage area with live entertainment. This area of Morristown is lively at night. Finding Laundromat and parking was easy. They were hosting Vegan Pop Up event. It has two nice size bars, center seating, sofas up against the back wall. Pleasant speakeasy decor, I can see why it's a happening place. Several food tables displaying their delicious vegan food. Our first stop was Screamers Pizzeria. We ordered Bbq pizza and pepperoni pizza. We devoured it. Crust was pizza had a crunchy crust and it was delicious definitely worth $7. Each. As we walked around we stopped to get Green Mustache for BBQ ribs with potato salad and a side of cashew mozzarella sticks. My favorite was the cashew mozzarella sticks. Great bite and lasting flavor. Wished I can find these near me. Last place we ordered from was freakin vegan. The only stand with a long line. I ordered Mac and cheese bowl, spinach ricotta, and cheese steak Empanadas. Favorite was the cheese steak Empanadas. We stopped to get vegan chocolate dipped mint Oreo cookie from Chocolate Calling. Yum! Finally, Seasons Olive Oil & Vinegar tasting. It was so good I bought the mini sample which has Tuscan herb olive oil and 18 yr traditional balsamic vinegar. They do play some club music the drinks aren't cheap so enjoy some cocktails before you venture out. But its definately want to check out The Laundramate Bar. read more

We came here this past Saturday night for my friends birthday. We had a group of about 15 people. For a Saturday night the music was awful. The DJ was playing the strangest mixes, he'd play some Britney Spears/Backstreet/N'Sync, then a 50's song, and then switch to hip hop. The music sets the mood and this was a mood killer. I ordered four shots at the bar from a bartender whos picture I've attached to my review. She had to be the most rude bartender I've ever dealt with. She ignored me repeatedly and when I finally got her attention she was less than thrilled to take our order. We asked for four Tito's shots. It was $45. We took the shots and immediately all looked at each other. We aren't drinkers and we all agreed that these shots tasted like pure water. Next I ordered four drinks, another $45. These also tasted like plain club soda. What a disappointment. We won't be returning. read more

We went to the Laundromat in May 2021, just as bars are reopening in NJ, and it was great experience! Admittedly, we found out about this speakeasy from tiktok, but it definitely lived up to the hype. Pros: Great vibes, fun crowd (people are mostly in their 20s), ample seating, good service, and amazing DJ. It's been a while since I've had a true club/bar feel, and the Laundromat was definitely the right place for this. Cons: Not much to say here - the drinks were a bit expensive (comparable to NYC prices, which isn't ususally found in suburban areas like Morristown) but strong enough that we didn't have to buy too many. Also, there was a decent wait to get in (~30 mins), but we went on a busy Friday night so this is generally expected. Definitely recommend going here if you're in your 20s and want a NYC/college bar vibe with a crowd your age. read more
