Dates of sail: February 26 - March 2, 2025 Stateroom: 7626 This was our third and sadly, least magical cruise experience thus far. If this had been our first Disney cruise, I'm not sure that I would rush out and do another one, truth be told. On our previous cruises, everyone we encountered on the staff, from the Check In crew at the port to the stewards, to the random Cast Members we would come across around the ship, was friendly and welcoming. Here the staff seemed harried and tired, like we caught them at the end of a very tough shift and they had nothing left to give. While the food was still excellent, the service was not at the same level as our previous cruises. We simply adored our dining teams on the Magic and the Dream; taking pictures with them at the end of the cruise. This time, with Jonathan and Carlos, it was very transactional. There was no connection or anything engaging with the team. They were certainly pleasant but the Disney magic was lacking. Our room steward, Arawan, was efficient, but I only ever saw him twice: Shortly after we boarded and the last night of the cruise when we were preparing our luggage for disembarkation. He certainly kept the room clean, so I do appreciate that! However I noticed some things, maintenance-wise in the room that displayed a lack of Disney's attention to detail, such as some rust spots in the bathroom. I would expect that from Norwegian, but definitely not from Disney. One night at the hot tub there was a guy openly vaping and staff only came over to tell him the hot tub was closing, not that he could not smoke in this area of the boat. At some of the trivias in the various entertainment venues, we either got inundated with offers for drinks or completely ignored, there was no in-between! In addition, staff broke my husband's luggage. Points to them for trying to fix it and sending an apology basket, but now that we are back on land, he has to spend time and energy filing a claim for the damage and going through that whole process. Hopefully we recapture the magic on our next Disney cruise, as the Fantasy is my least favorite of our cruises so far. read more

We did a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise with stops at U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, and Castaway Cay. I was a bit hesitant to do a Disney cruise. Its main demographic is families with young children and I don't have kids. Although we went with others who have kids. The cruise is on the pricy side as well. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience. STATEROOM: We got the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah which has a queen bed, single sleeper sofa, and private verandah (balcony). The bed frame is elevated for suitcase storage underneath. The room also had a lot of drawers and storage space. There is a "split bath": a bathroom with a sink, shower and tub and a half bathroom with a sink and toilet. As a group, we booked four rooms next to each other and were able to connect our balconies together. ENTERTAINMENT: There are signature events every night. What I enjoyed the most were the live shows- Aladdin, Frozen, and Believe. Other events include the Sailing Away Deck Party and Pirate Night. One of the main activities includes meeting Disney characters and princesses. There are long lines for the meet-and-greet and photo opportunities. There was also crafts, trivia, and movies. I don't really care for pools, but I had to try the AquaDuck. It is a one or two-person raft slide that circles the entire pool deck. If you have children, there's the nursery or Oceaneer Club where you can drop them off and get some time to yourself. DINING: During dinner, they offer rotational dining between Enchanted Garden, Royal Court, and Animator's Palate with two seating times. There was one formal night and one semi-formal night. Each night the servers traveled with us from restaurant to restaurant. They learned our preferences and we built a relationship with one another. Our server was great and entertained the kids at our table with magic tricks. Royal Court also offers breakfast and lunch. We mainly dined at Cabanas buffet for breakfast and lunch though. The best thing at breakfast was when they offered churro Mickey waffles one day. They have themed sections that change daily during lunch including Asian. The only thing that sucks is that it's not open for dinner since there's only rotational dining. There is an outdoor eatery, Flo's Cafe, with 3 food stations- Luigi's Pizza, Tow Mater's Grill and Fillmore's Favorites. On the same deck 11, there is also Eye Scream Treats for soft-serve ice cream. After 11:00pm, I believe the only food option available is room service. Unlike other cruises, drinks (soda) is available for free. They also have two adult-exclusive restaurants (additional cost). Palo is Italian and Remy is French. Europa becomes the Adult District at night with lounges, bars and nightclubs. Each place located here is European themed- Italian at La Piazza, Paris at Ooh La La Champagne bar, Ireland at O'Gills Pub, and London at The Tube. Spain is represented with the fancy tiled bathrooms located here. There are also craft cocktails at Skyline. NAVIGATOR APP: When using it on board, you can reserve or "heart" activities that interest you. You can message family and friends on the ship. We had some issues with this feature at times. If you're congregated in one area like a show for example, then your messages most likely won't go through. Sometimes you don't know when a message was sent either. The time stamp is when you read rather than received the message. On the app, you can also view all your digital receipts to track what you have spent. ETC. -Gratuities are $14.50 per person per day and is split between the rotational dining server, assistant server, head server, and stateroom host (housekeeping). -If you order alcohol or dine on food that's not included, 18% gratuity is added to the price. read more

This was my first Disney Cruise. I went from 9/30 - 10/7, on a Halloween on the High Seas, because I absolutely LOVE halloween and Disney does it well. While I do appreciate the Halloween decor, I honestly wish there was more for the adults to do. I do recommend that if you can afford it, DO experience dinner at Remy, add the course of Caviar if that's your thing. We tried it. So far it's the most expensive dinner we've had (for 2 people), and it was worth it. The service from GianLuca was amazing and he was an absolutely genuine person. I loved how he and the rest of the staff interacted. It was part of the magic. Benoit too, he made the experience so much more. Do: Palo as well. Our waitress Sophia was very interactive and refreshing to have as a server. She was not solicitous but she was never far away if she was needed. She had good banter as well. We truly liked her. My least favorite experience was dinner on Pirate night, just because the selections were nothing I would normally eat. I should have chosen Room Service on that night. Things I love: Costumes, The shows, the characters Things I didnt love: The lines. The amount of people. While the overall cruising experience was good, because we spent the majority of our time in our room, on our balcony, because that' whats important to us. Disney may not be a fit for us, but they are a Great service to families. read more

If I had to write a full-on review about this, I would be writing foreverrrr because that's how much we loved it. I would LIVE on this ship if I could! Even if you don't have kids, there are still so many things to do for adults! Everybody wins! We did a 7-Day Western Carribean Cruis and we would do it all over again. The moment you walk in, you instantly feel the Disney magic. They announce your family's name when you enter and it's such a cool experience. Everything was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The amount of detail imaginears put into their cruise lines are mind-blowing. The food was delicious. The vibes are amazing. The crew members were the best people we've ever met. The pool deck is indescribable. The endless EVERYTHING, soft serve, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. WOW. I can't even wrap my head around how amazing everything was. Our son is 3 and potty trained, but we still opted to put him in the It's A Small World Nursery. He LOVED it. He didn't want to leave whenever it was time to pick him up. The crew members were so communicative and told us every detail of his stay. We will forever appreciate them loving our son and caring for him. Because of them, we were able to have date nights without worrying about him. Don't get me started on the Broadway style shows because I BAWLED on each one. The talent that was shown... I couldn't even wrap my head around it. The shows were amazing and it's something you DON'T want to miss. Our servers were amazing. They were so attentive. By Day 2, they knew our preferences and always recommended what was best. Our room host was awesome. She would always come up with the coolest towel designs. We would walk in the room always surprised by what she came up with. My son was showered with love through Pixie Dust and Fish Extenders. People truly go all out with sharing the Disney magic! Literally, the ONLY problem we had was on an excursion. The excursion description stated that it was only going to be 2 hours long. It ended up being 6 hours long so we had to cancel our wine tasting but were reimbursed for it. Treat the crew members nicely, they go a very long time without seeing their family and they put so much love and effort in the way they treat customers! I have so much more to say about this cruise line but honestly, ya'll will just have to book it yourself and see how it truly is! read more

I never thought I would have a favorite Disney Cruise Line ship, but I think I do! I've sailed on the Fantasy twice, and have another cruise on the Fantasy later this year. The ship has a great design and decor. The theme of the three main dining room restaurants are great, and I love rotational dining (where you rotate to the different dining rooms on a schedule and your servers follow you). Enchanted Garden is probably my least favorite of the 3; the décor is nice, but the menus have been a bit 'meh.' Palo, one of the adult restaurants, is also great for both brunch and dinner (I've never been to Remy, the other adult restaurant). The shows are also fantastic and are Broadway-quality. They offer them twice a night so you can catch them regardless of your dining time. I've honestly not seen many of the other 'acts' they have, but I've heard good things about them. Disney Cruise Line is expensive, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for! You are treated wonderfully from the moment you step on the ship (actually before that, the moment you pull up to the cruise terminal)! Everyone makes you feel special. One example-the first two nights my mom ordered a diet coke with her meal. From then on, our servers automatically brought her a diet coke as soon as we sat down (they also helped packed up meals to take to her the night she, unfortunately, was too seasick to come to dinner). The adult area is great as well, very relaxing (and servers will come around to offer you adult drinks). The one adult pool that was deep (as opposed to the splash pools) was almost always busy, so that was a bit of a bummer. But the hot tub has a glass bottom, so you can see down the side of the ship to the ocean! The one downside is that the placement of the adult area is between one of the elevator banks and the family area. So, even thought it was an adults-only area there were kids occasionally roaming around (and I wouldn't care if they were just walking through, but sometimes they were running around and yelling, not very peaceful. Also, if you like waterslides check out the AquaDuck-super fun (and lines are shorter on days you're in port). I've been a fan of Disney Cruise Line for years, and much to my surprise think I have a favorite ship in the Fantasy! read more

This was my first Disney Cruise experience, but it's going to be a hard one to top I think! Everything was basically top-notch, from the food to the entertainment to the accommodations. This wasn't my first cruise, mind you, but Disney definitely raises the bar. The cabins aren't super-spacious, but they were roomy enough for three people. We hadn't planned on spending much time in the room anyway, so it was adequate for our needs. Also, we had a balcony, so the views were really breathtaking! Despite the size, the room was comfortable. Nobody had trouble sleeping, and the room service was fast and friendly. The food was unreal! Honestly, the buffets were fine, but definitely not the stars of the show. Those would be the dinners. If you can make it work, treat yourself to a night at Remy's. You won't be disappointed! The seated dinners were phenomenal! The menus were creative, and they matched the theming of the restaurant you were scheduled for that evening. for instance, the Enchanted Garden had an English tea party decor and vibe going, and the menu seemed to match accordingly. They are also very attentive to food allergies and preferences, so be sure to talk to your server about them, if you have any. They will go out of their way to accommodate you. The entertainment was very good as well. You won't find A-listers here of course, but they're more than competent performers across the board! From the comedy and live action shows to first-run films, there literally is something for everyone's taste. The port experiences were superb, the service was stellar across the board, and it was just an amazing time, period. I really don't know what else to say. If you haven't done one yet, you owe it to yourself to try it out! read more

What can you say about a Disney cruise. They are amazing. As someone who has taken 30+ cruises I will have to say Disney is my all-time favorite. Why you ask? Several reasons. First - they don't have a casino. As someone who doesn't gamble and my family who hates to be around cigarette smoke, this is perfection to us. We don't have to avoid an entire floor of the cruise ship on Disney cruises. Second - Top rate entertainment. If you are a Disney fan (and if not, why are you on this boat?!), their entertainment is spot-on as to what you've come to expect from Disney. Entertaining for all ages, not just for kids. Food - of course you expect a lot of food on a cruise. But crab on the buffet at every lunch??!! Fresh shrimp as big as you can find. Meals that are perfect from appetizer to dessert. I love that you change dining rooms, but your wait staff are the same each night. On this cruise the assistant would bring a brain-teaser puzzle to my teen every night. Our main waiter had a riddle for us as well each night, and the answer the next day (they were hard!). Ages - I don't care if you're 2 or 92, I feel like there is something for everyone. They don't just cater to the younger folks. There are cooking demos, trivia, games, entertainment, etc., for all ages. Service - On this cruise we had several issues with our cabins, even to the point where they moved us to a different cabin. They were professional, courteous, and very responsive to our concerns. They even sent us a gift basket for our problems. Never once did I feel they were frustrated or annoyed by our concerns. The only drawback to a Disney cruise is the price. They are more expensive, so taking one requires some diligent budgeting, but all-in-all I feel the extra $$ are well spent. read more

This was our very first Disney trip and cruise trip (7 nights)as a family. We have done Club Meds and Resorts with Kids Clubs in the past. The kids liked it, but took them a while to get use to wanting to go into the kids club. Meaning they were basically gel toed to us till the last 5 days. Pending what you like to do or not do on your holidays. I prefer to be active and like the kids to do their own thing in the kids club. This experience wasn't that. Although there were activities hourly, mostly eating and drinking. I wish there were more learning and physical activities for adults. But that seems a bit hard to do with limited space. Overall, the kids enjoyed themselves. Cleanliness and Care from staff, 5 Stars!! If not more! Disney makes boarding and debriefing easy and painless. Hands down great experience there. The only lines are meet and greets with the characters, but that's a given. Overall, Disney is a strong brand, for a reason. They invite you into Disney's Fantasy world. You truly feel special and welcomed as their guest. Yeah, I would rebook if the kids wanted to go again. I guess I'll book a separate adult holiday as well. read more

Mostly very nice... food choices were varied and usually properly prepared. Service by and large was attentive and competent. Activities were hosted by energetic cast members, making things like trivia more enjoyable than usual on cruises. The ship is immaculate and persistently maintained... does NOT look 10 years old. Awesome. A few knocks - Buffet - lamb chops over cooked steak knives need to be available... speaking of utensils, why are they so hidden behind counters, sneeze guards, etc very frustrating to have to hunt for them at almost every buffet trip Some of the bars and dining establishments have NO PAPER MENUS ... awful. Perhaps my phone is dead... or I have a flip phone... or no phone at all... or no pockets to carry my phone with me. Heck some people (ME) NEVER want to look at a menu on my phone unless I'm previewing it from home or my car. Probably the most disappointing thing on the entire cruise. Unpopular opinion here - PALO is a waste of $$$$ Not because the food is bad (it's not) but because it's just OK. Not much spice or seasoning in anything. Asked for butter for the bread and was brought cold packaged pats straight out of the chill chest.... awful for a fancy place... this isn't Cracker Barrel. Appetizer fried calamari and shrimp was bland, no seasoning in the batter, red sauce tasted out of a jar and tasteless mayo.....disappointing. Lobster overcooked but the pasta was done correctly. I was expecting a lot more from a specialty restaurant with an upcharge. It's the TINIEST step up from the main dining rooms... c'mon Disney, you can do better. Draining the pools 3 times per week for "sanitizing" seems quite excessive and a waste of water and time. BIG ISSUE - all day and night long there's carts and vacuums lying in the already narrow cabin hallways. Terrible hazard and unsightly... tripping accidents waiting to happen. Breakfast buffet merely ok.... could use fruits and nuts to mix into the oatmeal. Eggs benedict barely warm (it's good in the dining rooms though) Coffee is good. I could do without 500 cast members a day saying hello, good morning, good afternoon, etc.... it feels rude to ignore them, but it's also annoying to have every single cast member you pass within 25 feet of speak to you. Cabanas for lunch..... nachos were good but IMPOSSIBLE to grab with the tongs over the bowl edge and the sneeze guard being a foot off the counter. Had to drag the bowl towards me to grab any. Ice cream from the machine much better than Carnival.. had it way too many times every day. Beverage stations had nice selection and were very plentiful around the ship. Could do without every server at every meal (and the head honcho) starting conversations and asking questions about our day, what we did, what we are doing later or while in port ... just let me eat in peace ! Also I am able to read the menu (already did), I don't need it regurgitated to me before I place my order. Though they didn't interest me, there are many character meet and greets every day, a great thing for kids and adults alike if you like that sort of thing. Lastly.... Nice selection of movies... but shame on Disney for charging $7 a bucket for popcorn when you're paying thousands of $$$ for a cruise. Popcorn costs pennies. read more

Slowly chipping away at my long list of drafts to finish. I noticed that my 100th review was coming up so I saved it for the best Christmas vacation we've ever had as a family, a 7 day Eastern Carribean Disney Cruise on 12/15-22, 2018. For Christmas, it's tradition to only give our kids 1 gift each. Instead of showering them with all the presents on their list, we travel for our annual family Christmas vacation. Last year, we decided to go on our first cruise and went all out by booking Disney. We booked the trip in May and the whole process from the time we received our trip booklet to the minute we got dropped off back to the airport... the whole experience was second to none. Here's why... Costumer service: Service excellence is what Disney is known for and it shows in every staff you come across... they are so chirpy like they just love their jobs so much they can't help but be super nice to you. Airport transfer: there were Disney personnel everywhere directing everyone where to go. They ask you if you're going to the park or cruise and direct you to the correct line, we registered and waited for Dumbo bus to take us to the port. Checking in: wow... the whole entire building was packed but it only took us 10 minutes to get our pics taken, cards and instructions. Embarkation: ummm staff only line up as you enter and announce your family name and cheer on you while everyone in your family is mesmerize by the grandiosity of the ship lobby. Nothing to it really, just another day at a Disney Cruise... NOT!!! It was super awesome! Stateroom: very comfortable and spacious. We had a queen bed, a bunk bed and a Murphy bed that was never used. For 2 adults and 3 kids the family suite with veranda worked really well for us. Grub: OMG... food was everywhere!!! We mostly did buffets for breakfasts and lunches, dinners were assigned to 3 different sit down restaurants. They also had quick snacks and endless soft serve ice-cream in pool deck. Remy: this was our adult night. 120/person additional for a 7 course meal. Service was impeccable, dishes were easily Michelin star restaurant quality and taste. Ladies you get escorted to and from if you have to use the ladies room. My escort was the chef de cuisine and I didn't even realize until my hubby told me who he was. Remy is a must. Entertainment: I don't think I need to say more... it's Disney and Disney ENTERTAINS!!! The deck parties, characters, the broadway quality shows, games, movies, and fireworks. Even at dinner, you get entertained. Adults and kids alike, I don't think the word bored is uttered inside the ship. Childcare: kids 3 and up have their own areas. Drop them off early in the morning, they get fed, toiletted and kept amazed and excited by the wonderful staff until they get picked up as late as 11pm. Kids under 3 goes to the nursery where every one is Mary Poppins. Yes all the staff has a British accent, you do pay 9/hour/child. Spa: the most devine spot in the entire ship. I got treated to a facial and massage by hubby. I was there for a good 3 hours and I didn't want it to end. They use Elemis skin care and I fell in love with it, I still use the cream and toner to this day. Book as soon as you can, spots fill up quick. With 3 Elemis products plus tip, I burned a 600 dollar whole in my pocket. Staff: was AMAZING, everyone was super attentive, super helpful, super everything. You get the same waitstaff for dinner and you do become friends with them. Our room attendant was Filipino and made the best towel animals. Disney is pricey but so worth it, I can't recommend it enough especially for your first cruise. At the end of 7 days we still end up spending 2.5k for dinner, gift shop purchases, spa, daughter's princess makeover, childcare and excursions. No cash aboard, everything charged to your tab so it's easy to overspend. Also bummer was we didn't get to go to Castaway Cay due to a storm but we had the best time nonetheless. read more

The first time I walked on this ship I was completely floored away. When you walk on any cruise ship, you should be flabbergasted by the sheer opulence. It should be to the point of being almost regal (We could be royals.. sorry, dance break) Not all cruise lines have this wow factor. Old cruise ships have that 80s look, its not very nice looking at all. But not the Disney Magic! This is the feeling from any Disney cruise ship. Now, I've heard from cruise folks: the shows are juvenile, the food is geared towards kids and the pools are 7 days of kids screaming my eyes are wet! Also there is no gambling on board? Pass! Yeah.. I'll have to say you might be correct but when given lemons what did Simba do? He said "Hakuna Matata". Don't pass on this ship just because of those reasons. My wife & I had a couples massage in a grass hut on an island that Disney owns. Disney owns an ISLAND! ha ha Now that "flair" was created in 1998 by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. You want flair? Here it is baby! Made by us Italians! Lets talk about each section: Cabins - I've been on (2) 7 day Disney cruises, both an Eastern and Western Caribbean day cruise. The cabins both times were very tight and we had a balcony room. The showers are tight as well. But the quality of the materials in the rooms? Amazing. Its polished woods and chrome handles. Very classy. Restaurants - Make reservations for one Palo's Sunday Brunch (No children allowed) Palo, picture the highest point on the ship. Disney built the restaurant on the top deck so when you're dining you have a commanding view of the ocean. Very very regal if you will. They have a few fun family restaurants like Animator's Palate. The restaurant pictures are black and white but the end of your dinner they're all in color! Lumiere's I remember being a very nice family restaurant. Movies- It's Disney and they make movies. On board is the Walt Disney World Theater and they show their first run movies! This is also a 3D theater so if there is 3D movie out, you can see it out at sea! Very very cool Pools- They have adult/quite pools but if you have children you aren't seeing them.. Alcohol- You can buy beers and drink them poolside. On board they also have different bars throughout the ship. You'll never be without alcohol. Ports of call- One word: Castaway Cay (pronounced key) The boat docks on their island owned by Disney Inc.. When you walk off, you're on Disney property. No other punk ass cruise lines or strange looking tourists. You can rent bike and explore their island. We walked to the adult only beach for our spa appointments which was very slick. On the beach in a grass hut getting a couples massage. Unforgettable Characters- It's Disney! Disney characters are frequently seen at various parties, dining room events, and scheduled character greetings on board. Your kids will never forget meeting Mickey Mouse after this cruise for years to come. This ship in 2000 was large, now not so. The Disney Magic can hold approximately 2,700 passengers. I was just on another cruise line, the ship looks small. Sad face Also, with all Disney cruise ships, the ship's horn blast plays an excerpt from Disney's famous flagship tune, '"When You Wish upon a Star". At night in the middle of the ocean, they have a fireworks display that equals EPCOT. I've listed both good and the bad reasons why Disney is a top notch family vacation. If you're on the fence or your partner says, look Disney is the most money of any cruise line! Remember what I said, they own an island. Top notch service and food on the Disney Cruise ship "Fantasy" We enjoyed every second and the kids had a blast. The boat is clean, the staff are second to none and the food is excellent. You pay for what you get and although Disney cruising is on the higher side it's worth every penny. They really want to insure your vacation is magical and roll out the red carpet. There are so many aspects of cruising I could write a novel, I've been on a dozen in my lifetime and none compare to the Disney boats. They truly are on another level. We cruised to Mexico, Grand Caymen, Jamaica and their private island castaway cay. Our family of six just wrapped up an Eastern Carribean 7 day cruise (Ages 4-60yrs). What an Adventure! We travelled with 2 children (4 and 6), grandparents and us. This is only our second cruise and boy it did not disappoint. Disney caters to families. Bunk beds with bedside rails, high chairs, children's pools, and activities. Although it is very pricey, it is worth every penny in terms of convience and ease for family. Do: Bibbidy Bobidity Boutique is a must for little girls. Although we live by Disneyland, her first experience was on the ship. Bring your own disney shoes and dresses from home. Save some money . Splurge on the Royal Court Tea $300 on the same day. Tea with Disney princesses (photo in leather book, cinderella doll, bracelets with distinct charms, and a music box are included). Book these well in advance. Do Pirate themed night. Folks really go all out. Bring costumes from home. Don't: no Tortola island. Trashy and dirty. We did the beach express and while it was a pretty beach, the amenities there were minimal (PVC showers, generators and power strip status) and you pay for an umbrella and extras. Take a pass. Book earlier than us and go to Jost Van Dyke. Do Castaway Cay 5k if you can spare the time Most importantly. Have a great time. Expect late nights and tired kids. Lovely vacation. read more

Disney Fantasy - Just warmes the heart - Amusement Parks Near Me - Cape Canaveral, Florida

This was my second Disney cruise. The staff is amazing but keep in mind these people work non stop for months until their contract ends. Which can be anywhere from 4-6 months in length. Then they get 2 months off. They only get a shift off during the 12 hr day and it's 7 days a week. The employees are amazingly accommodating, super attentive and they are rigorous on the cleaning. The food is just OK to a Yelp elite such as myself. After a week on the boat. I was excited to have a home Cooked meal. We do love the staterooms and their steam showers in the delux family room with veranda. But I may try another cruise line if we decide to go on the boat again. They do offer good entertainment. Which is close to the 10% off they offer on the boat when you put a deposit down for your next cruise. So either way you will save somewhere. We are getting $600 in Costco cash back The only difference with that is- you put a $250 deposit down which will be applied to your next cruise. They give you 10% off and you get $200 dollars stateroom credit. So you get a bit more going that route. But if your a first time Disney cruiser and have a Costco membership. First, the good. If you have kids under 12, this cruise is great. The characters, the kids club (which is available for younger ages but this time our kids, 5 & 7, really got in to it), the unlimited ice cream! It makes for a great vacation if you are with a family. They have endless choices of things to do on board, we got off the ship really only once and the rest of the time we hung around. 5 stars for family friendly vacation. So yet I waiver between 3 and 4 stars. Let me start with the biggest annoyance of all. They charge $13.50/day/person for tips. Got a baby? $13.50. Don't drink? $13.50. You know that guy who you maybe met once in the dining room who is basically a host? He gets a cut. It is expensive and excessive. We cut ours down to a more appropriate level based on our usage, which I'm sure will catch some grief... I'm not saying the room attendant isn't worth a little extra cheese, but let me make that choice. Automatically charging my account is not "for my convenience", it is pushy, assuming and frankly $54/day is outrageous when you are paying $7k for a vacation already. If you were looking for food - go elsewhere. We complained at one point but the host (see above) blew us off. It was fine if I wanted the EXACT same meal for every meal. I made the mistake of admitting I liked Indian, that's all I got the rest of the time. The kids got a mix of mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and pizza. Kids like other stuff. But that was the basic menu every night. Over cooked steak, dry fish, jerky like venison. Yuck. Internet. Just throw it in, Disney. $40 for a spotty 300mb? Sigh. There are a lot of things the cruise gets right. The entertainment is fantastic. It is well maintained (just look to the left or right and see the competition...). As long as no one poops in the pool, it is a great temperature and a nice depth for my kids. WOWZERS! This would be my second cruise with the Disney Wonder being my first. I have to say that Disney does it big! Everything about he ship from the decor, the housekeepers, servers, and customer service and whatever else I missed was excellent! The food was great! Gluten free food is what you need, they got that too! Just be prepared to gain about 10lbs on a 7 day cruise. Your body will hate you but you will be so happy that you did it. We did a 7 day cruise out of Port Canaveral. We went to Cozumel Mexico, Grand Cayman and Falmouth Jamaica OH and Castaway Cay. We did not book anything in advanced. Everything was booked as soon as we hit the island. It was much cheaper that way. As for Castaway Cay, it was ok. I was expecting Disneyland I guess LOL I did a 5K while I was there. It was awesome to say I got a medal from Castaway... only way to get it if you take the cruise. Not any cruise... has to be a Disney Cruise. OH on he ship we did the slide that took you over the pool area and that was awesome. Wait was not very long the times I went. There was also a little kid water park that my 4 year old daughter loved! We did Palo for one night. If you go, you must order the amaretto soufflé. It's to die for. I'm sure you heard before but if you decide to go on a cruise, do DCL. Ahhh forgot, there's a nightclub that closes at 2am. Ive been trying to write this review for about 2 years now because I really wanted to break down everything for those of you who are considering cruising with Disney. I've cruised on other cruise lines before, but for this vacation I wanted to take the boyfriend and my father on a really special trip. I love cruises so I thought A Disney cruise would be the extravagant one I was looking for. My first tip: if you don't have children and do not like to be around children... Don't even attempt a Disney anything. I knew booking the cruise that there would be a ton of children, but nothing prepares you for a big ass ship full of children... Mostly misbehaved and not being disciplined because mom and dad are on vacation too. The food: not what I was expecting. I thought Disney would knock it out of the park with their food but most nights the food was just OK, maybe one or two nights did we really enjoy our meal. Except Remy, Remy was unbelievable. It is 85/pp but it is well worth the cost. It's typically 5 small courses but you could have the entire menu if you want for the same price. They start with an amuse bouche, a complimentary cocktail made tableside, then the 5 (or more courses). Then there's a cheese cart, then a dessert arrangement. They give all of the women a box of chocolates and a rose to go. Request a reservation around sunset. They have floor to ceiling windows and you get excellent water/sunset views. The service: this is where Disney excels. I could have asked for the room attendant to juggle for me while standing on her head and she would have done it. My wait staff and room attendant were phenomenal. If I ever cruise with Disney again I would request them. (Shout out to Kabelo, Mahadi and Gleiza!). Something fun... when you board they announce your family and the staff is standing in a welcoming line applauding you as you walk on. Something different and the kids really seemed to enjoy that. Adult fun: There are areas of the ship that are 18 and over. I didn't see any children in any of these areas. Two pool areas and an entertainment area (bars, nightclub, etc). There's always a trivia or a game show going somewhere. The bar staff were phenomenal as well. Our service was a little more attentive than I've experienced in any other ship, due to there were no adults out at night. Literally, my boyfriend and I were the only ones in the little night club every night. We just asked the DJ to play songs for us and he obliged. He played old school hip hop for us most nights and even gave us a USB drive of all of the songs he played that week. I forgot his name since the cruise was about 2 years ago now. Sadly there isn't a casino on this cruise line. There is an "aqua coaster" as well. It was fun... worth the long wait. If you skip an island one day, or go really that'd be best. The room: we had an outside room, with a large window. There were two bathroom areas. One with a toilet and sink and one with a shower,bathtub and sink. The bathtub is small, but there is a seat... So probably really helpful for parents that need to bathe their children. Disney is the only cruise line authorized to set off fireworks while at sea. Unfortunately, I missed the show but my boyfriend and father watched from the adult only deck outside of Palo and Remy and had a great viewing. Disney also lets you bring on 6 beers or two bottles of wine with you... at every port you visit. Drink wine, save money! I'll keep updating as I remember more but the most important tip is... DISNEY CRUISES ARE EXPENSIVE! Buy Disney Merchandise for your kids (or yourself) on amazon, or even a Walmart near the port. Bring all the wine and beer you can (or sneak vodka in like we did). This was our second cruise ever. This was our first Disney cruise. 4 days. 3 nights. There are so many good things to say about it. There are only a couple of negative thoughts on the matter. Positive: It's a cruise. It's a DISNEY cruise. They have childcare and programs for kids from infancy all the way through late teens. If you wanted to, you could check your kids into the Oceaneer Club in the morning and leave them there into the very late night. We tried, but the guilt factor got the best of us. We checked them out from time to time, but they seemed eager to return. Our 17 year old enjoyed the teen activities quite a bit. He didn't say much, but what 17 year old really does (when their parents ask questions)... Since he didn't complain, I'll say with confidence that he had a fantastic time. The private island (Castaway Cay) was really cool. We spent the entire day snorkeling. $25 to rent the gear for one person. There are all kinds of cool things to see in the water - sunken treasure, the submarine from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, tons of fish, sting rays (you can pay for a sting ray encounter, but it's better to go snorkeling since you can stay out all day, and there are still rays out there), and other sea life. We stopped off in Nassau. That was interesting. I felt like a tiny minnow being thrown into a tank filled with ravenous sharks as we left the ship and ventured into the town. So many people desperate to take our money (scooter rentals, tours by taxi, tours by horse drawn carriage...etc). Negative: The food was alright. Some of it was good at the sit-down dinners. The breakfast buffets were average. Many of the items were unimpressive and almost too gross to eat (like the eggs, and most of the pastries). The over abundance of required (or strongly suggested) gratuity was ridiculous. They provided envelopes to tip all kinds of people. Several of our waiter staff. The people who worked on our deck (we never use room service...and always keep the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door). I think I should be allowed to tip when I feel it is appropriate. I paid so much for this cruise, and they wanted me (if I actually followed through with their suggestion) to pay an additional almost $300 in tips/gratuity. No. I won't do that. Call me a Scrooge. Call me whatever you want. I don't care. I won't tip that much. Ever. Aside from the mediocre food, and the whole tipping/gratuity thing, we enjoyed the cruise. read more

i had the time of my life! i am a Disney fan (not fanatic...but super fan)...we go to disneyland monthly and have had annual passes for 10 years... yet i never understood people who raved about Disney Cruise...how different could it possibly be (for 3 times the cost of other cruises)... well...now i'm one of those people! i don't think i could ever enjoy a regular cruise again... yes it set us back way more than we could afford...but it was oh so worth it! already trying to figure out how to go again. everything is top notch... food quality is above and beyond any cruise i've been on (i usually detest cruise food)... you rotate dining rooms nightly (between 3 different rooms...so you revisit each dining room)... there is animators palate (best!), royal dining and enchanted gardens.. there is the buffet that open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Flo's Cafe (pizza, dogs, burgers, sandwiches, fries, pannini's etc...) all day..until midnight eye scream (soft serve) 11 am -11 pm movies at the pool.. moveis in the theatre characters galore... kids club that kids are dying to go to (my kids usually cry when i suggest the kids clubs) most things are included in the cruise (soft drinks, kids activities etc...) even drinks are not a price gauging rates...and they aren't pushing drinks on people during shows etc... i can't wait to go again!!! read more

My family just got back from our 3rd Disney cruise (though it's been about 10 years since the last, in between we've been on other cruise lines). The whole thing was super last minute but, for the record, this was my parents, my brother (23) and myself (26). I was a little concerned about the fact that there would just be children everywhere, all the time. There were a few moments were it felt like we were in a sea of children but I was really impressed with all of the "adult" areas and how well they were separated from the more family/kid areas. The good: Of course, the service was amazing. Just like a trip to the Disney parks, each employee treats you like the only person on the ship. We had fantastic servers, Pogi and Eak, and a great stateroom hostess, Sri. The shows are great and manage to get in lots of Disney characters and songs but also be original and different (our favorite was the show the first night, the Golden Mickeys). For the very first time (this was our 6th cruise as a family) we had a room with a veranda. The room was fantastic and we loved that we could have the divider between the balconies taken down (we had 2 rooms) to make a bigger area outside. Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay was fantastic. We had to take 2 trams to get to the "adult only" beach but it was well worth it. It was calm and beautiful. Lunch is also served at a separate buffet here which means no little monsters under foot. When the tide went out around the middle of the day, we were able to walk in the ankle deep water and see tons of sea life (anemones, nudibranchs, starfish, etc). The food! Animator's Palate was by far our favorite restaurant set up but it was my least favorite actual menu. I loved the variety on every menu, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And, of course, the soft serve ice cream stations are fantastic! The bad (and I'm totally nitpicking here): My only real complaint is that Disney, unlike other cruise lines I've been on (Royal Caribbean and Carnival, in particular), does nothing to your room card to mark whether the guest is over or under 21. I am 26 but almost always get carded (same goes for my 23 year old brother). Every time I tried to buy a drink I was asked if I was 21. No one gave me a hard time or asked for ID or anything but it just seemed a little silly that there wasn't some type of system to figure this out. We had some crappy weather in Nassau, which, of course, cannot be blamed on Disney. I do wish that every cruise didn't stop at Nassau, after so many trips there, there is nothing new to see. The line for the Aquaduck was lengthy when the weather got sunny. I don't mind waiting (we ended up spending close to an hour in line) but most of the line was directly in the sun. I can't imagine how hot the ground must get in the middle of the summer! A family in front of us grabbed some towels to stand on/hold over their heads and were told immediately they couldn't do that. It just seems like the layout could have been done a little better. Anyway, it was a fantastic vacation and everything you would expect from Disney. I would very highly recommend the Dream to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun filled vacation! read more

Whoa this review was long overdue! Such a fun time! I hadn't been on a cruise probably since cruises first started sailing from NYC. I was nervous about seasickness and also for my bf who had never been on a cruise. We had a fantastic time!! And even better we were there to share in the marriage of some great friends!! The food was amazing, the themes were only something Disney could do and the cruise was amazing for a person of any age. Our server Goran was the BEST! Our table of 8 often enjoyed multiple apps, entrees and desserts and they were awesome about it! It was fantastic and I don't know if you can request servers, but I would get either one of them! The shows were just unbelievable! From the Disney themed, to the guys with Buckets and Boards, we thoroughly enjoyed the shows and made it a point to watch them all! I even saw Aladdin on Broadway and did not think it was a good as the one on the cruise - YEAH it was THAT GREAT! The secluded area where the wedding reception took place was lovely and I cannot forget to mention the beautiful and wonderfully talented Clara Oman. She has the most spectacular ability to make a Disney (or any mix of songs for that matter) medley and make it her own while keeping the original feel.. She even covered for a fellower performer one night and sang with the other half of the duo for the first time and owned it! A true musician and a beautiful person inside and out. We would "stalk" her performances while on the boat and she was also the musician who played during my friends' wedding ceremony! We had a great time talking with her and listening to her sweet music! Everything about this cruise was great! I'm thinking the only way to top this is to have an adults only Disney Cruise =P I can't wait to see what they do in the future! Wow, Disney does it right on cruising. Entertainment is #1 from the shows, on board and off ship Castaway Cay is a great place to enjoy. All entertainment is suitable for all ages. Love how you can dump the kids off to disney daycare and enjoy your vacation. #2 food was above average with service top notch. Notes If you rent a car be sure to get the fast trak for the tolls, lot faster and less time to get to the cruise. Most will hold your car seat till pickup. Rent one way to save money, ALSO when leaving the ship early remember to try to be out of the ship by 645a. You'll be first few in line to get your car. Shuttles dont arrive till 745a. Bring a good cell phone holder and car charger and use Waze App. to keep track of the highway patrol. It's about an hour to and from the port even in bad weather. Use a multi outlet usb charger , cheap on Amazon. No extension cords allowed. Clothes line to dry clothes is excellent. Bring some laundry pods laundry is $2 each wash and dry. Expect 2hrs. Bring wine! Drink before dinner, they do charge you to drink at dinner! Bring a good size hot/ cold wide mouth water container Go to the Disney Character Store before and after your visit to get Disney items CHEAP! On Nassau the Conch isn't fireworks but when in Rome... (Wanna see a eco-disaster go behind the restaurant ) Nassau can be seen in 2-3 hours tops one fort is just like the others and they do charge you for going in. This was our first time cruising the Fantasy but our fifth Disney cruise. The service was not great. All of our photos came out horrible. The dinner service was good, np but food was just ok. For as much as we pay for DCL I really expect 5star service. There were 3 bathroom accidents and the pools had to be drained and deep cleaned which take the pools out of service for 3-4 hours. There were people chewing tobacco in the adult pools w their chew bottles. It was just all gross. I honestly do not know where to begin, but I will just list my top 5 reasons this was the best vacation ever: 1. The ship. It's breathtaking! Right when you walk in you see the beautiful lobby and you just can't help but smile. This place is sparkling from floor to ceiling and there is always somebody cleaning something! This alone sets Disney a part from any other cruise line. Our rooms were spacious. Having a split bath was super nice! 2. Dining. The food was spectacular. We loved our waitstaff and how the two of them rotated with us every night. We really got to know each other and they always had our drink of choice waiting for us when we arrived. 3. Adults only. We went on this cruise for our honeymoon. Disney does such a great job of catering to every age group,including adults. Their spa is incredible. Buy a rainforest pass! You won't regret it. Europa, their bar district, is themed perfectly to different areas in Europe. We took a mixology class that was amazing. I would definitely suggest coming to this cruise without kids! 4. Activities. There is always something to do. Bar trivia, Broadway shows, a movie theater with current movies...the list goes on. 5. Last but not least...ALCOHOL. What sets Disney apart the most is probably that you can bring your own alcohol. That's right, no 25 dollar drink of the day. You can make everything in your stateroom and even bring it to dinner. We just got off the Disney Fantasy. It was our 13th Disney Cruise. I could go on and on about why we love cruising Disney. Embarkment is quick and easy. We got there around noon and were able to board the ship as soon as we checked in. As always, there was a delicious lunch awaiting us onboard. After lunch, we head to the adult pool and spend an hour or so until we can check out our stateroom. Disney has some fantastic rotation dining where you get to eat in a lovely dining room every night of your cruise. More casual options are also available if that's your thing. We spend most of our time a the adult pool area. You never know there are any kids on the boat if you stay in this area. Broadway caliber shows most every night. Top rate comedians and entertainment. We feel like this cruise line is our second home. We couldn't feel more relaxed and welcome than on one of the Disney ships. If you are considering a cruise, Disney is well worth the extra cost. read more

I went on a 7 night cruise trip on the Disney Fantasy with a friend this past week and all I can say is... Wow. Amazing staff and crew, entertainment, food, attractions, and so much more. I was extremely impressed with the high quality service from each of the workers on the ship. My friend and I are both in our early twenties, yet we thoroughly enjoyed sailing with the Disney cruise line. Our stateroom was phenomenal, with a queen size bed, pull out sofa, and an additional top bunk bed. The room was extremely clean when we got there, and the housekeeping team did an exceptional job in cleaning up every single night. I loved that there were two separate bathrooms (one for the shower and one for the toilet.) I would recommend travelers of any age to sail with Disney. The Eastern Caribbean on the Disney Fantasy was just awesome! Better than expected. Trust me pictures do no justice. Disney really does go over and above and much attention to detail. Was very skeptical on cruise since first one but was worth every penny. Would love to do again. Staff is just amazing. So much food and plenty of activities for all ages. Had stateroom 9176 in the aft or rear if ship. It had oversized balcony and always had great views. Only complaint you do get black sut from engines at times but oh well it was great balcony. Was worried with sea sickness and never had issue. Wore Sea Bands and not sure if mental or they just work. Definitely will do again another different itinerary sometime in future God willing. read more

We took the kids on their first cruise this week, aboard the Disney Dream for a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas. The ship is amazing. If you're at all concerned about sea sickness this ship would be a good choice - we barely felt it move. Everything Disney claims about creating an entertaining family-friendly experience is true. Our kids loved every minute of it. The primary reason for writing this review, though, is to talk about the food (this is Yelp after all). I'm referring to the food in the formal dining rooms, the Enchanted Garden, the Royal Palace, and the Animator's Palette. My wife and I were really disappointed in the food. First, for a kid-oriented cruise line, the kids options were terrible. Not only were they generally limited to the typical "chicken fingers / pizza / mac-n-cheese" choices, but the quality was awful. Think of the cheapest frozen chicken fingers, or the worst frozen pizza, or the worst mac-n-cheese from a box you've ever had - that's what it tasted like. To be fair, they always had a salad and/or fruit appetizer option, but the kids entrees were so bad. Fortunately, we quickly figured out that they let the kids order from the adult menu, and since our kids like most things, this worked out well for us. As for the adult menu - the food was consistently mediocre. In general everything tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. Chicken was tough and overcooked. Fish was the same. Soups were bland. At least the desserts were generally good (tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had). We never ate at the buffet, but the quick dining options near the pool were actually pretty decent. The pizza, while not restaurant quality, was at least fresh. Same for the wraps. Perhaps because our expectations for poolside dining were low, we enjoyed this food the most. It's unfortunate that the food was so disappointing because otherwise the cruise was fantastic. As a family who enjoys good food, we're not sure we'll do another Disney cruise again. read more

I recently went on my third Disney cruise. The first two were on the old Disney Magic (before it was Re-Imagined), but most recently I had the pleasure of trying out the Disney Fantasy. Wow. It really puts other cruise ships to shame. Even my sister who had been on the sister ship the Dream said she liked the Fantasy better. Some of the features that the Fantasy includes that are not included on other ships include the Muppets Case of the Stolen Show mystery for the Midship Detective game as well as Satellite Falls, which is probably one of my favorite areas of the ship (it's far less crowded--albeit windy on sea days--than even the Quiet Cove Pool). Of course there's Palo (the adults-only Italian restaurant) and Remy (the adults-only French restaurant) and the Aquaduck (also found on the Dream). The atrium in the Fantasy features what is probably my favorite chandelier from what I've seen (even in photos) of the others on the other ships. Service is exactly what you expect from Disney, the ship is regularly touched up (you will often see crew repainting, polishing, etc) and it always looks like new! I don't think I'd ever be tempted to cruise on another cruise line, but given the choice between the Disney ships, I'd definitely pick the Disney Fantasy! read more

This was my first cruise and I loved every minute of it. My girlfriend were celebrating our one year anniversary and our dinning staff made it very special. Our stateroom was breathtaking, from our veranda to the incredibly comfortable bed. The crew is there you for in anyway you can think of. For instance, we were playing cards in Cabanas and asked a crew member if soft pretzels were available. He said they might be in Flo's Cafe. I was going to walk over there after our game, however a few moments later, he came back with two plate full saying, "Who's the winner!?" Placed an immediate smile on my face. Anther interesting item was the way we dinned at night, our dinning team followed us to the other three dinning areas. Through the seven nights, we had the chance to get to know each other. I would easily go again if we knew we had Branel, Fran and Valentin. From the moment you walk onto the ship, you notice the grandeur and beauty. As you walk deeper inside, there are little surprises everywhere you go. You would never think a Broadway theatre would be onboard presenting fantastic shows like Aladdin, A Musical Spectacular. Similar the Magic Kingdom Park's Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom, there is a game onboard with the Muppets. However, my favorite, the pictures around the ship move as you walk by them. This was my first cruise. This was my fiancé's third cruise, all have been with DCL. We booked a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise with stops in Tortola, St. Thomas, and Disney's Castaway Cay. I believe Fantasy is their newest ship and is one of the larger ships. The ship is beautiful and well maintained. I love that they announce your family's name when you get on the ship for the first time. Every employee we encountered was friendly and happy to help. We had an inside state room, but it had a porthole that gave us a real time look outside (except at night they use a stock video since in would be too dark to see into the ocean). Our stateroom host cleaned our room twice a day (they all do), and he kept everything nice and clean. I loved seeing what towel animals would be waiting for us when we returned from dinner. We selected the second seating for dinner when we booked our cruise, which means we had to eat dinner at 8:15 pm. I liked that we got to try the three different dinner restaurants that are included in the price of the cruise (Animator's Palette, Enchanted Garden, and Royal Court). The dinner menus were different each night. Our server, server assistant, and head servers were great. I loved that our server was honest about what was good on the dinner menu that night and what wasn't. For breakfast, we mostly ate at Cabanas, which is the buffet style restaurant. They are open for lunch and dinner as well. One day for breakfast we ate at Royal Court since we wanted a sit down. Another day we ordered room service for breakfast (at no additional charge! We still tipped obviously). If Cabanas was closed, there are also quick service restaurants near the family pools for chicken fingers, French fries, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, wraps, etc. There are two fountain soda and coffee machines on each side of the family pools which are also included. The soft serve ice cream machines by the family pools are awesome! Since we don't have any children, my fiancé and I spent most of our time in the adults only sections towards the front of the ship. Alcohol is not included, but I felt that drink prices weren't terrible. It was nice not having to carry credit cars and cash around as you can just hand them your room key. Also, they do have drink servers walking around so you don't have to go to the bars to get a drink if you want to lounge around. The service and food was impeccable of course. There are plenty activities for adults to do as well such as karaoke, trivia, live music, etc. There are two theaters on the Fantasy, one for movies, and another one for their live entertainment. If you want to cruise with Disney again, I highly recommend doing an "open booking" which means when you're on the ship, you put down a $250 deposit to use towards another cruise within two years and you get 10% off prevailing rates. If you don't book the cruise within those years, you get your deposit back, so it would be silly not to. I can't wait to go on another cruise with Disney! read more

Last week we sailed on the Disney Fantasy through the Western Caribbean. It was our seventh overall cruise and our second with Disney. Coming back and reflecting on the trip there's no way I could give this anything less than five stars. The Disney service is what really separates them from all of the other family cruise lines. Their "cast members" as they are affectionately known do an incredible job of making everyone's vacation so special. The food was good, not great, but when you're catering the kids you don't expect gourmet food. They do have that though in their two specialty restaurants open only to adults. There's simply no way to describe just how much my family and I loved our recent 4-night Bahamian cruise on the Disney Dream. It was the first time any of us had cruised, and the ship's crew, activities, meals and facilities not only met our high expectations -- they exceeded them in every way possible. From the ease of our early boarding in the spacious and comfortable Port Canaveral terminal building, to the incredible selection of restaurants, bars and cafes on board, no aspect of the experience was underdone. Our cabin was efficiently laid out and impossibly clean, and our steward made sure the bunk beds were set (and a mint on every pillow) when we returned each night. Our wait staff rotated with us through each dinner setting, and by our last breakfast the morning we debarked, knew our kids names, their drink preferences, and even their favorite desserts. There was SO much more on the boat than we had time to do. The lido deck, with its two kiddie pools, giant movie screen, craft beer stations and free ice cream, is THE place to be when the sun is shining -- and even when its not. It also has whirlpool tubs, a kids water slide and splash park, and easy access to two buffet restaurants. One deck up is the AquaDuck, an awesome water flume ride that runs from morning until night, and is one of the Dream's most popular attractions. I could go on and on about the food, the parties the Broadway-quality entertainment, and the shore excursions (we LOVED the Dolphin Experience on Blue Lagoon Island). And don't even get me STARTED about Castaway Cay. Just imagine the perfect island paradise, add some Disney magic, and you've just created what really IS the Happiest Place on Earth. But for our family, the highlight of the trip was the INCREDIBLE Kids Club. Our tykes were a little hesitant to leave us the first time we dropped them off to enjoy some grown-up time at one of the topside bars, but we had to literally DRAG them away when we came back two hours later. When we dropped them off again the next night to enjoy a romantic dinner at Palo, we had the same challenge convincing them to come back to the cabin for bed. After all, what kid would EVER want to leave somewhere with a video game room designed to the Millennium Falcon or a play area modeled after Andy's Room in 'Toy Story'? The Disney Dream is absolutely the perfect vacation for every member of the family. The ship is a child's Fantasy at Sea, and Castaway Cay the ultimate pirate adventure island. For grown-ups, there are upscale restaurants, fancy nightclubs, wine bars, sports pubs, and adult-only pools where drinks are delivered day and night. The alcohol prices were surprisingly reasonable ($6 for a Mojito, $30 for a six-pack of craft beer), and even with the cruise line's new policy, we brought a fair amount of our own alcohol on board. I can't think of another vacation our family enjoyed more than this one. We're already planning another Disney cruise in a couple of years, and may even repeat this year's Halloween-themed sailing. I can't compare it to any other ships, but if you've ever been on a cruise you absolutely did NOT fall in love with, it probably wasn't done by Disney. read more
