This store is an exercise in controlled chaos! It is huge, it is loud, it is Disney! Kids come in here and basically lose their sh**. The prices are somewhat high, but they do give discounts via e-mail. The quality of their clothes are so so but my girls love dressing like their favorite princesses. What is a mom to do? read more

I live in Orlando, so I'll admit to something of a burnout on the "magic of Disney" from time to time. But even I was touched by seeing the floating lanterns from "Tangled" hovering over this store's long escalator. Such a simple display to do, really, but seeing it brought back memories of the first time I experienced my favorite scene in that movie. And that's what Disney does best - tap into the emotion of memories. And, hey, this store does have things you won't find in the Disney Store back home - be it souvenirs from the Disney Broadway shows, or items with Minnie Mouse dressed as the Statue of Liberty, and so on. If you're in Time Square and have a few minutes, stop in and take a look around (both floors, if you please). You might just stumble on a surprise that touches you in a way you didn't expect. read more

Disney relocated to Times Square and their new store isn't as big as their old store, but it's still a really good store. It's 2-stories of all sorts of Disney products and I can't seem to ever get out of there without buying something when I'm with the kids. While it can be crowded, it's certainly not as crowded as the nearby Toys-R-Us. If you are in the area and have kids with you, it's worth stopping by. read more

My friend has been on hold for over 2 hours... understanding it is the holidays and just wanting to make sure certain things are available. They said "they are too busy for phone calls," so I hope you have another way to reach the store. Honestly not sure why the ratings are so low for this store. I loved it! Much more variety than my local Disney Store (Miami, Florida) and it is greatly and beautifully decorated! All the employees are great and amazing! So friendly and genuine. While there, a group of tourists from Europe mentioned it was their first time and an employee announced it to the store and they all sang a song for them. All the employees seemed to genuinely want to help you and like working there. Prices are a little expensive, but everything Disney is a little expensive. Disney is a premium brand therefore a premium price is to be expected. Very organized and clean. Very whimsical. I don't know how it can get any better. read more

I was so disappointed by this store. I didn't know what to expect apart from Disney, but it was basically just dolls, children's dress-up clothes, and terrifying music that plays whenever the employees find out that it's somebody's first visit or somebody's birthday. Get ready to hear one of those tunes every ten minutes. The star is for the beautiful Tangled lanterns on the escalators between levels. Everything else was an epic fail for me, so much so that I'm using the term "epic fail". read more

Feels like the mother ship of the Disney empire... hundreds of tourists streaming in off of Times Square to go crazy inside. The only thing less appealing to me than my visit the other day was if it were the day before Christmas. I was lucky in that the little one wasn't overly bratty or whiny. We went in only because hubby promised her a little Snow White clip doll and we figured this massive Disney store should have it (searches at various Seattle-area stores came up empty-handed and I wasn't about to pay $22 on Amazon for a $7 doll) but it didn't. The Toys R Us in TiSq, however, did! I did buy a cloth Elsa doll for the kiddo, and she is excited to sleep with it at naptime when we go back to school next week after vacation is over. I also bought a little NYC t-shirt. Prices were reasonable, no more expensive than any other Disney store, and especially considering TiSq rents! If you are a Disney fan, might be worth a stop but beware the crowds and hordes of crazed kid/parents! read more

I am a big Disney fan!!! Once I walked into this store I wanted to but everything. It honestly has more stuff than the Downtown Disney (ca) My son couldn't decide as to what he wanted. I was able to by some gifts here as well for a reasonably price! read more

Super crowded too a point you can't move to your left or right you need to just keep on going straight and the employees are like traffic officers They are open super late so I would recommend to go after midnight otherwise you won't enjoy what this store has too offer read more

This store has a ton of plush. Lots of kids toys. Upstairs is cute with the castle. Employees are friendly. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the World of Disney store at Disney Springs but I feel like the NYC Flagship should be bigger and better than it is. Not much in the way of adult items or home decor. I would also like to see more NYC specific stuff for boys- lots of Minnie but not a lot of Mickey. Still love Disney and didn't leave without buying stuff I didn't need! read more

A big Disney store with a much larger selection than your typical mall Disney store. They have a section of exclusive New York City Disney store merchandise if you're looking for something to remember your trip to the city, but aside from that it's the same type of Disney merch that you'd find elsewhere. Also this is the older Disney store concept and not that newer Apple store inspired design that's begun rolling out like in century city California. read more

In a pinch for a kid's birthday party? Don't want to go to the party empty handed? The Disney Store will have something. Great selection of cool Disney toys, clothes and little accessories. I cannot subject myself to the T-Square antics, so BUY the kid something before the DAY of. We decided to stop by while in Mahattan and this place is crazy. Its right in Time square. Its crowded with tourists. It is very overwhelming to show there with so many people. The store is way over priced. You are better of going to Disney World and stop by the Walmart store and you will get the same thing for a lower cost. read more

I love the store, BUT customer service is no where to want to help its customer. Sad, but true. I am a frequent traveler to NYC and visit this store for gift giving and I bought an item that was defective and didn't think it would be a big deal to get an exchange, but it truly is. Shopdisney.com does not deal with the Disney Store side of their business and since the Disney Stores are closed all over the USA and NY is the last remaining one in the NE of the US, they truly have made it a big hassle to get a simple exchange done. I was there two weeks ago and they still are playing games with me at guest relations. Therefore, when I go back to NYC, I will have learned my lesson that unfortunately if I buy at the Disney Store, I have to be aware that if the item or clothing is faulty or defective, then I will probably be stuck with the item as Disney Store does not honor or backup its return policies and buyers out there need to be aware of this unfortunately problem with the Disney Store in NYC at Times Square. As for my clothing item was defective, I will get it an exchange or refund at some point because as an Attorney, I never give up nor should you! Also, I noticed that the NYC Disney Store has turned off Google reviews for now, not a good sign about their store. This is not the Disney I grew up with in the 20th Century, so sad. :( read more

These 5 Stars are for Desiree. Her favorite character is Nala and my husband, visiting friend, and I met her over the register on 5-16-17 around 8:00 pm (for the sake of management ID-ing her). She was not only talented and quick, she was the embodiment of customer service above and beyond. She was sincerely friendly and excited. She personalized our experiences and made us laugh several times. My friend is a former DisneyLand (CA) cast member visiting NYC for the first time. She knew about cast member discounts and their differences across stores and each park. She discussed characters and made us all smile. She gave us information about store events and made us want to come back ASAP. From 3 people who work in very different jobs in customer service, well done to you. On top of her perfection, the store was beautifully well kept, well controlled by a knowledgeable and helpful staff of friendly people, and smoothly designed to expedite customer traffic. read more

Merchandise is made-in-China garbage. Annoying, entitled, pushy tourists. Lots of cheesy, worthless goods that even a kid would throw out. Lots of garbage NYC apparel, tacky Frozen dolls, and tasteless t-shirts. The Star Wars merchandise they hype up on their external billboard is limited in variety, quality, uniqueness, and intrigue. The only one of merit was a poorly-made BB-8 plush toy with an actual spinning head. Everything is carelessly reproduced, without any care or craftsmanship. The Disney corporation is disgusting and any good will from their 90s movies falls flat when you walk in the doors. read more

Had a great experience here on a super busy Saturday night. I spoke with three different staff members and they were all super personable, kind, and helpful, all traits of which you don't see in NYC very often. This Disney Store is a step above the rest but the prices are still high and the sale items are not that plentiful. The best part was the kind staff. The escalator was broken but a nice staff member was on hand to encourage people to walk up them in a nice manner as only a Disney cast member could do. Great displays, nice merchandise. WAY too crowded, no direction, complete chaos. As an adult who was going into the store just to reminisce on childhood I was completely disappointed. There was no where to stand, you had to keep moving, you were always in someones way. Parents literally had no control of their children and I think I stepped on at least 2 kids (and maybe an adult or 2) wasn't able to browse or really even breathe. All I could think about was where the emergency exits were. One and done with this place. read more

I've been a Disney fan since my childhood days (i mean who isn't?) and it amazes me how cheap their products have become. When I say cheap, I mean in terms of quality and price. I remember plush dolls used to cost a minimum of $20 and now, you can get them for $10! That's what a little beanie used to cost and that was considered expensive! And there's no denying that the quality has also downgraded from the ones made 20 years ago. Anyway, no matter what, generations and generations later, people will still buy Disney products and so I've come here to this store on a special occasion to pick up a head gear to wear for my Disney Half marathon in January. Upon walking in, I felt like a little kid again. I wanted everything in that store! Yes, I wanted all the plush dolls and princess dresses. It really brought back a lot of childhood memories of going to Disney World or watching their classic animated films (anything before Lion King). My friend and I tried to hold ourselves back from doing spontaneous purchases and re-focused our attention to finding a wearable head gear. The store is two stories high yet it seemed to lack much staff working there. It took us awhile to find an available person to help us with our quest to find a head gear and the only one we were able to find were the Minnie Mouse head gear for girls. So there wasn't much option for adults but good thing, it still fit our heads. So if you are ever feeling down or having a bad day at work, swing by this store to bring you back to the happiest place on earth. read more

Overpriced items. Mundane selection; almost entirely stuffed toys and princess dresses. Staff generally unhelpful - "staff member" told me my card was declined and then refused to type in the numbers when I asked her to. Yes, I have a debit card with a well worn magnetic strip. After I left the store, I called my bank and they said they did not decline the purchase and had no record of the requested point of sale. I tried calling the store to speak to a manager but no one picked up the phone and the recording said to call back later. They should have taken my call - might have gotten them another star. read more

Super rude staff. We got caught in a brief rain shower and ducked into this store since it was near us. We just got into the city and planned on stopping anyway and spending $$$. After looking around a bit, I stopped to check the weather. I was yelled at by a large female employee with braids to move and that I was going to damage the wall by leaning on it. A wall. It was obvious the staff wanted people to leave. The rain brought tons of people into the store. People with $. Too bad this rudeness offended many. I told the woman, "No problem, we are leaving." She promptly and extremely sarcastically retorted, "THANK YOU!" In NYC for a week, but rain or shine, I won't be back to this store! read more

Prototypical Disney Store with a big beautiful build out up stairs. All the staff are friendly except if you sit in a corner. Call me crazy but this is New York and when you are lugging children around you get tired. It would be helpful to have a couple of benches for stroller parking/parent rest stops. read more

This store is nice and all...but I came in here specifically to buy a "I Mickey NY" shirt and all they had were large sizes! They didn't have any M or even a S. I asked a salesperson there and she said they're all out of stock and don't know when they'll have new shirts. C'mon! Are you kidding me? A store for the child in all of us. Although its location makes it a bit of a tourist trap, a trip here is sure to be magical for any disney lover. They have a wide variety of products compared to most other disney store locations. The magic mirror is mesmerizing, even for adults. It can get a little overwhelming in there depending on the crowds. read more
