The staff greets you quickly and gets your drink while you peruse the menu. They have typical bar fare- sandwiches, wings burgers, but by far what stands out in this bar is their burgers. 1/2 pound of beef and you can choose from a variety of toppings. This trip I had the black and bleu burger and added sautéed onions with a side of fries. It was out in 10-15 minutes and I could only eat half of it! It was so juicy I needed extra napkins! It says a lot when the employees have stayed the same so many years I stop here every time I go to Las Vegas. The name misplaces it with other things but this is a bar with a menu. We had the daily special which was 1/2 lb cheeseburger and added onion rings and fries. The onion rings are a must try...and pair it with the peach sauce. The burgers are huge and come fully loaded. We visited the Dispensary Lounge, opened in 1976. It has a great "old Vegas" 1970s feel, with wooden furniture, lattice work between the booths, swag lamps over the tables and classic "ivy vine" decoration. Note: this is NOT a cannabis dispensary! Our meal consisted of the loaded potato skins (stacked high with bacon, onion, mushroom and cheese) and burgers. The burgers were cooked to order and very tasty. Service was prompt, friendly and "fun." For instance our server told us to remember their motto, "if you don't like the way your burger is cooked, you ordered it wrong. Do better next time." I called Dispensary Lounge and spoke with Sondra and relayed that I had a large group that I needed to make a reservation for on a Monday of the following week. We would need separate checks. She said she could put tables together for us and she would see us then. When we arrived on our reservation day and time, everything was set up. Carl and Luke introduced themselves as the team that would be serving us with Carl in the kitchen and Luke as our server. They were a great team and the tables were pre-set with condiments, etc. The group of men all enjoyed the food, service, and attentiveness of the staff. When I first drove by this place, I assumed it was yet another marijuana dispensary- so not my style. Little did I know, it came across my radar again when planning a date night; it's actually a bar that offers weekend live jazz performances! My guy and I went in one night and had a fairly good time. Your experience will depend on who is performing, as with any live performance. The schedule of performers is online and up to date, and apparently we got a guest singer who didn't really vibe with the house band, so it wasn't great, but she was talented. Note that there is a two drink minimum but prices are low. Dress up a bit if you go for jazz night, and go early for seating. The ventilation was fairly good and though we left smelling vaguely smoky, it wasn't overwhelming during our visit and didn't seem to be allowed during the performances. If you go on a typical day, it's a regular bar but they're known for their great burgers. I haven't yet made it by again to try one but it's definitely on my list to revisit. read more

Don't let the name fool you: this isn't a place to get high or buy weed -- but a quaint, charming jazz dive bar with AMAZING food! We sat at the bar (there are gaming machines as well as dining tables) to watch the basketball game. The bartender, Alex was an absolute delight: funny, personable, and when I made my annoying request for a "something sweet" drink, created delicious unique cocktails I couldn't get enough of. We came in hungry and she recommended their burgers (which was juicy and cooked to perfection) and I also ordered their turkey club (apparently they make a whole turkey for them; to which I thoroughly enjoyed!). I was very intrigued that they have an array of house sauces that they make -- to which I HAD to try most of. My favorites were the serrano peach ketchup, whiskey apple bbq sauce, and while I am not a mustard fan, I did like their special mystery mustard as well! Overall, we had a great first experience at the Dispensary Lounge and have no complaints! It is a different vibe than most bars, and was a great place to wind down and get some good eats! It's a great place to listen to live jazz music off of the strip. It is truly a very cozy place like other reviews say. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. We were there on Thursday night when there was a jazz band and other local singers who came up on stage to perform a few songs which added nicely to variety of the show. Boy does this little unassuming place knock your socks off and intoxicate you! *Once Yelp allows us to upload previously recorded videos, I will upload the video from my personal experience.* Everyone dressed up a little and we arrived early enough to take a few photos at the tables on stage. We did remain on with drinks during the actual performance as well! This is a must try for tourists and anyone that wants to do something a little bit different in Las Vegas! This burger was so good!! 1/2 pound patty cooked to a perfect medium. There was a lot of Bleu cheese, unlike some other places that skimp out and give just a tiny bit of it.
