    The Traditional Detroit Style Pizza
    Christina K.

I had heard about the pizza as many have and on a quest to taste it for myself, I headed here! On a mid-day weekday, I went at a time that wasn't busy so there were plenty of seats right at the bar. It's quite dark inside the bar, but then your eyes adjust and you enjoy the decorative lights. The bartender was really friendly and greeted us right away with waters and then took our drink order. As a snack - we ordered one Traditional pizza. When the pizza came out, it was temperature hot and the sauce on top was really good - adds to each bite that you take. Overall, the flavors were very good and the crust to topping ratio was good. The crust also had a good bite/crisp on it. There's always the poll of who has the best pizza. I think you can't compare all pizzas and it's best segmented into the type of pizza. As for Detroit style, this pizza was a very solid choice. It comes out hot and fresh and is a shareable size for two.

I've had a few people tell me about Red Dwarf and the amazing pizza. When I happened to be staying down the street, I knew it was meant to be. I up with a friend and decided to sit in a booth. The waitress greeted us after a few minutes. We order Mai tais while we looked over the menu and chatted. We finally settled on a simple pepperoni pizza. The mai tais were great! The pizza was a perfect level of crunch crust and melty cheese. It felt as if the sauce was a perfect amount as well. Not drowning in it, but not tasting it at all. I will say this place gets a little loud! We struggled to hear each other across the table. I'll definitely be back, just with the intentions of heavy conversing.

Been on my list to try. Love me some Detroit style pizza and this place really knocks it out of the box. They do well with dough, sauce and melding of all the flavors. Big fan and would love to try their white sauce pie. Next time....

We absolutely love this place, although getting a seat is challenging and it can get a bit LOUD. But...the pizza is so damn good that I do t care if I have to stand or take it to go. Every time I go to Vegas, we eat here. Also, the draft beer menu changes all the time. This time they had an incredible beer called cursed apple of eternal darkness by zombie beers. Omg!!!!!! So good! Too bad I can't get it in Los Angeles or Long Beach!!!!

The pizza is just too good - right now this is my fave pizza spot in LV! This spot is a hidden gem, on the other (east) side of the strip, inside a super unassuming divey bar. So we heard about the pizza, so we ordered the Groovy Gravy Train (like a breakfast pizza, and wow I wasn't expecting much, but it was breakfast heaven), White Pie (so yum, if you like white pizza, you'll def like this one), and the Signature Detroit Style (classic, and my fave of the three). Each is ~$20, comes with 4 big squares, and 5 of us barely finished all 3 pizzas. We also ordered beer and drinks, but I must say $4 for Dwarf's Piss is amazing - it's a pretty light and crisp draft, and easy to drink. I will come back. Oh also, the service here is awesome, so friendly, warm and homey vibes.

Me and my man went to Vegas to hit up most of the Tiki Bars in Las Vegas, because nowdays that's my thing. I don't gamble. I don't smoke. I cuss occasionally and speed sometimes, because I need excitement in my life. Cussing and speeding can only go so far. I needed a real DIVE BAR, which is what it is. A tiki bar disguised as a Dive Bar and vice versa. Not sure if the Dive or the Tiki came first. I was looking forward to some great libations. LIBATIONS that I ordered: I Just Blue Myself ($10)- sweet goodness with maybe a tingle of alcohol. I think I drank the whole thing down in 5 minutes, it was tasty. Buzz rating 1/5. Dole Whip ($12) - with vodka or rum choice. I got the vodka because this looked sweet, and rum is already a sweet thing, because Diabetes. It was SUPER sweet. I let it melt and mate with the vodka, that was better. Buzz rating 1/5. Hub man ordered canned beer (smart dude): Lagunitas IPA for $6 a can. FOOD: Everyone is raving, stark raving mad about the Detroit-styled pizza. My man loved it. I liked it. Very very salty, but maybe I can blame the sweet a$$ drinks screwing up my taste buds. Pizzas were $19 a piece. They were on the medium-small size, in a rectangular pan with a thick crust. ENTERTAINMENT: We got kicked off our table because we were told by the band members coming in that it was the "merch table". No problem. We wanted to see the band play. They warmed up and teased up, stopped and didn't warm up anymore. We left SERVICE: Pretty good and attentive. But it got busy as the night wore on. We were there on a Friday at around 930 PM. NOISE LEVEL: WHAT DID YOU SAY? I CAN"T HEAR YOU!!!! Woman next to me was so loud. Also, when she got off the bench, I sunk down and the end of the bench collapsed with me on the end. FUN TIMES. PARKING: Free, dark, sketchy parking lot. You're welcome.

I can't say our server felt like she appreciated us and our questions. When we asked about beers she just kinda pointed at the wall where they are all chalked. I totally get they change a lot and I'm sure you get a ton of tourists so maybe it's just hard but I felt like my business was making her frustrated every time I had a question or needed attention. My peach sour was really really good. I wish it was something I could buy back home. 10/10 recommend. Now...this pizza has a place, it's just not in my mouth. While I grew up in Chicago I won't say I love deep dish either so it's not that. I just felt like it was glorified cheesy garlic bread. I do however like the cheese to the crust because I sure never eat the crust so this was helpful. The meatsa was 100% better than the white pie. The white pie had no flavor besides Alfredo. My friend got wings and ordered them mild and said even the mild wasn't as mild as he hoped. I didn't try them but fair warning they smelled spicy, and I do like spicy. He did say the flavor was ok though, just not as mild as he wanted.

A place like this is why I wish I lived in Las Vegas so I could become a regular (if they'll have me). Detroit style pizza, awesome tap list, punk pirate meets tiki, great service - what more could you want? The drink menu is a great compilation of tiki classics and new tiki twists (check out their seasonal cocktail menu), plenty of options for any drink preference. The location is easy to get to, about a 8 minute drive from the strip. Great bar seating with surrounding booths and high tops. Colorfully decorated with skeletons and tiki aesthetics. Can't wait to visit again!

I don't care what people say, Red Dwarf has the best pizza in Vegas. My go-to favorites are pineapple does belong and meatsa meatsa. White pie also good but not my favorite. They also have a really good selection of beers to go with the pizza. Service can be a little slow when it's busy, but honestly it's worth the wait. Still giving this place five stars because the pizza alone makes it that good.

Hub has been begging me to try this pizza and I am a serious pizza snob...I like a certain type of pizza and don't even consider ordering from a chain or having a frozen hockey puck sitting my freezer. Enter Red Dwarf. As we sat down I loved the vibe..dark tiki room and extra extra bonus...no smoking establishment. They have a slew of draft beer to choose from..and a cool looking alcoholic ginger beer I would be willing to try sooner than later if the alcohol content wasn't 10 percent...ha ha...I ordered the pizza port IPA local beer and hub got a lager from a local brewery...they were both so cold and delicious. We decided to split the pepperoni Detroit style 1/4 sheet pizza...4 slices...perfect amount for us. Pizza came and looked AMAZING...I usually don't lean into Detroit style, but this pizza is what my friend labeled "Slammin'". This pizza is amazing...I cannot believe it took this long to get here...I will bring my friends here now and will be back many times, as I often stay by or near the strip and it is very easy to get to, even with Maryland parkway doing a lot of construction.

My favorite hangout for Las Vegas locals is The Red Dwarf. If you haven't been yet, you're definitely missing out. It's a whole vibe! We're talking dark, moody, with some heavy-handed bartenders. And when they say they have the best Detroit style pizza in Vegas, listen to them. For only $19, you can get the best pizza of your life. Just look at this. Make sure to put this one on your list.

Here's some aesthetically pleasing trashed furniture.

I can't say I was overly impressed with this establishment. When you first walk in, you can't see anything because it is pitch black in there which after having my eyes adjusted, I was actually pretty thankful it was dark because I don't think I would want to see what it looks like all lit up. It has a black light tiki bar aesthetic to it. They're about four booths and a bunch of high top tables and a wonky shaped bar in the middle and there's a whole section that you can't use because their beer lines are dripping all over it and there's condensation and water and a combination of liquid that is just unappetizing and the bartenders never bother to wipe it up. I was there for over two hours. I asked for a Malibu pineapple and they don't have Malibu rum so I end up with some other kind of coconut rum and the drink was not terrific. I didn't finish it and it certainly wasn't worth asking to have it redone. My friend and I both got pizzas and I thought my pizza was fine. I got one with light sauce and my friend said that hers was incredibly salty. This was my first time here and she's been here before she recommended the place. I really only had one big slice of the pizza. I have plenty of leftovers and I finally understood what she was talking about two of the slices were incredibly salty so I don't know if there was a clump of salt in the sauce or what was going on, but it was very unpleasant and I could not eat half of the pizza. If it hadn't been for the salt factory, the pizza would've been really good. I did ask for change I needed someone and I asked for 10 ones and the bartender told me that they couldn't give me change or something for 10 and I asked for five and he literally rolled his eyes right at me and very begrudgingly gave me five ones, but this is a bar. I know a lot of people probably pay with Credit cards but you should have cash on hand or in a safe in the back. It shouldn't be that ones are a hot commodity and I shouldn't be getting attitude for it. It was obviously such a hardship for this bartender to give me the ones that I decided I would tip him really well since he went so far out of his way for me ***eyeroll***. I don't care how great Pizza is. I'll never go back there because of how rude the bartender was about just simply getting change.

It's the world's only 24 hour Tiki Bar, opening its doors in December of 2008, nearly 18 full years ago. Hints of surfing culture, rockabilly and retro. Perfect signature original or classic tiki drinks via their menu as well as full bar, soft drinks and beer. The Makalele Knockout is probably one of my personal favs with rum(s), lime, hibiscus and a incredible blend of flavors. However the Tiki Bandit, Frankiestein, Dr No, ScruV and numerous others might speak to you. I've been to Frankie's a few times about 10 years ago, so it was nice to stop in with a group of buds and share some convo as well as meet up with my oldest best friend and her wife, who ironically is who I came to Frankie's with those first times a decade ago. All tiki drinks are currently $15 and well worth it. You're able to drink, gamble (at the bar), smoke, converse, sway (good music) but limited space and enjoy the night or day away. Seating goes quick at night, especially on weekends, but arriving earlier (before 8pm) can help. Sometimes tables, seats and areas open up faster if you're patient. All the staff, including the bartenders and door guy are thoughtful and personable. We eventually got part of the area that's slightly enclosed with a great view of the entire bar especially being a group of 6 to 8 at once point. High recommend.

If you're into the tiki vibe or all things tiki, this should be on your list of places to frequent.

I was looking at the chicharrones, he recommended the vegan ones! Said the rice paper was a nice treat. I took his recommendation and he didn't steer me wrong! I never in my life thought I'd be eating vegan chicharrones, but I keep getting up for the surprises life has to offer. Speaking of surprises, Sabastian turned me on to adding bitters to my sparkling water! Never had it that way, it's something I'll absolutely repeat. I had a few of them that night. I did a pork belly skewer. This was my least favourite thing. The pork was a bit tough/overcooked and the peanut sauce was more on the coconut side. I also did the wings. Jamaican and lemon pepper. The lemon pepper was solid, I don't do jerk but got half for woman. She said they were entirely too spicy. The adobo plate was a star! As you can probably imagine, I was starting to be full so I took it to go. Sabastian told me to overcook the meat a bit when I reheat it so the fat renders. Epic tip! It heated up wonderfully, I had some homemade peanut sauce that accompanied the dish nicely. It's pretty dark inside but has a total kitschy tiki vibe. The music was awesome! I meant to ask Sabastian if it was his playlist. It seems to be a place a lot of locals frequent. People came in that knew Sabastian and there was that Cheers feel. It is now part of the routine when I'm in Vegas. First thing that jumped out (other that the incredible ambiance) was the excellent choice of spirits for their drinks - utilizing funky rums, mezcals etc. The drinks struck the perfect balance of creative and fun but still well executed (dilution and temperature). The drinks are tasty but still have personality and a perspective. You can tell by the drink names in conjunction with tasting them - that the Prowl team take what they do seriously without taking themselves too seriously. No pretentious mixology nonsense. With that said - they've got plenty of fresh ideas for a cocktail den. Oh ya - and the merch and ambiance is awesome as well - but you knew that.

Prowl is a fantastic Arts District cocktail bar next to Stray Pirate (same ownership) and should…read moreabsolutely be on your list to visit. Amazing atmosphere. The animated jaguar above the bar always seems as if she's looking at you. And be sure to pop into the rear restroom and look up. Very interesting cocktail menu, but if you're lucky enough to get Jackie as a bartender, she's a phenomenal mixologist. Tell her what sort of drinks you like and just ask her to make whatever comes into her head--you won't be disappointed at the sophisticated and unusual result,

It's like stepping back to the seventies. It was Déjà vu until I realized there was no cigarette…read moresmoke and the carpet wasn't sticky from stale spilled drinks. The decor is perfect for a trip through time. There's a huge variety of beer between the on tap and bottled. It's the old school order at the bar and take your drinks to the table. Bartender was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The beer was served in the proper glassware. The decor has an incredible number of vintage signs, promotional displays, clocks, etc. some for beer brands no longer made. There is also a huge beer can collection. It's a very nice breaking from blinding flashing lights and loud music. Tip: From the outside you will think you're on the wrong street. There's no sign, flashing lights, folding message boards, etc. Open the door by the 222 and step into yesteryear with a modern supply chain. It's worth a visit.

Hi, I'm a local (nine years now) and came here with an out-of-town friend. Bartender was friendly…read morebut upon introspect (i.e., reviewing the receipt) he played us for tourists. This occurred well over a year ago (09.27.24 to be exact) so hopefully he has moved on. Bartender described himself as a "professor" of all things beer and blabbed on and on about this and that. We were drinking and enjoying a framboise lambic that I regularly have at home. He said well if you like that you have to give this a try. So, we did. He didn't mention the cost and we didn't ask. The lambic we were were drinking cost $14 per bottle/glass. We ordered ONE bottle of his recommended beer "Framboise 2022" (which was not as good as the $14 one we were drinking, btw), at a cost of $35. We were heading to a show so when the bill came we were in a hurry so paid it without reviewing it. Our bad, but much more so the bartender's as he ensured 1) a larger bill for the owner, and 2) a bigger tip for himself. I have meant to stop by to discuss with the owners but the opportunity has not presented itself. I like the place and will possibly return but never again will I be pegged a ringer for a "clueless tourist", there or anywhere in LV! P.S., I'm from NYC and never, ever did crap like that happen at any bar I ever visited -- and there were many! For the owners ... Recipt states "Server: Andrew & Rose S [owners, as I understand, not bartender's name who waited on us]", Check No. 65, 09.27.24, 6:40 p.m., Total: $85.00
