Beware of their deceptive, fraudulent and corrupt practices! Enter at your own risk/peril. They will destroy your vehicle. They destroyed the finish on our SUV! We took our SUV to CarToyz because the hood and roof had become dull after of going through so many car washes using brushes and harsh detergents combined with UV. Our vehicle was returned in worse shape than when we brought it in! When we dropped off our SUV, the hood was dull had minor scratches, but not it was not excessively scratched, color was consistently green, but dull. What Distinctive CarToyz returned to us was excessive scratch marks carved in the front hood and the green color removed/gone (see the photos). They also managed to remove the paint finish around the ignition switch. The interior of the car smelled like they had spilled an entire bottle of Windex inside. Clearly, the job was not in the wheelhouse. To add insult to injury they removed the car dealership decal on the back and put on their own Distinctive CarToyz business frame (see photo) around the back license plate. Blatantly corrupt to have people think we purchased our Tahoe from them and not from a reputable dealership. They are any but reputable. We took our SUV to our car dealer and for only a couple hundred dollars more than what CarToyz charged us ($1,500), Bennett Chevrolet made our SUV look brand new! read more

Took my car there for wheels, problem was the wheels required a hub ring so that wheels would fit. They had my car for 3 days called me said it was ready. I get it home drove it twice since taking it home and i had a vibration. I took it t get balance checked and alignment, low and behold the parts they said they put on the car to keep wheels from wobbling were never put on so my wheels where literally just bouncing around! This could have killed me or others if i would have gotten into an accident! This being one of few performance shops they should do better! read more

Just a heads when buying a used jeep from Cartoyz please make sure you have a personal mechanic go over the Vehicle before it leaves the lot, to make sure there no underlying issues they create and never finish the job, if not you will be accused of taking to an other mechanic, so there not responsible for the repair, I had the worst experience with the Service department ever, mind you I only have the Jeep 3 months and started having issues with a gas leak, to top it off the owner told the service rep to tell me if I picked the Jeep to never bring it back because they will not help or Service my,Jeep iam not that guy to post anything negative but in this case they were wrong and really bad customer service, iam putting them on blast so it does not happen again especially with the minority community, shame on You guys, the only positive experience I had was Bill my salesman great guy and very professional, on that note get together Cartoyz, will never return. Going to review car detail only since no other dealings with Car Toyz. I'll say one thing for them, they are busy. Have been there several times in the past and each time they are hopping so they must be doing something right. Daughter gives me a gift certificate at Christmas time for a car detail. She buys the two for one special that they annually put on as a Christmas special. Only problem with them is they must be used within a certain time or they expire. Had car detailed yesterday and as I said this place is always busy so it's no simple in and out. Any way they did a great job on the car. Did not have problems others have noted. These guys don't do good work. I brought them my lowered car for an alignment. Joe(?) told me they would do the best they could which I understand they can only tweak so much to get it closer to factory spec. I dropped my car off, seven hours later I get a call saying it's ready to be picked up. The paper they gave me for the alignment specs showed me the toe was set right but the steering wheel has to be held at 11 o clock now to drive straight. Obviously the tech didn't drive it more that to and from the parking lot to check the work. Completely unacceptable. read more

Distinctive CarToyz is not an honest car dealership. The owner is DISHONEST and will LIE in your face. I purchased a 2017 BMW from CarToyz and my tags have not been released to me yet. The owner constantly LIES about the status of my tags and the delay. He continues to blame the delay on the Maryland MVA and the Maryland State Inspection documents that I submitted to CarToyz as required. The owner seems to assume I've never made an out of state vehicle purchase and don't know the tags and title process. He insists that the PASSED Maryland State Inspection documents I submitted are not legible and Maryland MVA may not except it. I submitted my PASSED BMW Maryland State Inspection documents in the form of e-docs, snapshots and faxes to his office. I have proof in the form of texts back and forth with CarToyz with the unreasonable excuses why he says Maryland MVA will not except its own completed PASSED Maryland State Inspection document, which is not true. I asked him to send me a picture of the title as proof it's in his possession and that's when he stopped answering my calls. I am making monthly car note and insurance payments and cannot drive my car, reason NO TAGS. Stay away from CarToyz and spend your hard-earned money with a more competent car dealer. read more

NEVER GO HERE. They will lie to you about price and what they will do. They told me that they can fix my remote start. After 30 minutes of leaving my car with them they call me and said that they can't do anything with. I am a newly single mother, who has had to re-adapt to life and responsibilities on my own. My first step to independence, was to get my own vehicle. Which is NOT always the easiest task. There are always so many comparisons to make, people to call, and scams to be sifted through.. I also had a very limited budget to work with- which made things that much more challenging. I had stumbled across a vehicle on Autotrader.com, and it happened to be from Distinctive Car Toyz. At this time, I had never head of them before. I shot them a message via e-mail to let them know I was interested in a certain high-milaged vehicle, which happened to be within my budget. THANK GOODNESS, the wonderful woman who responded (TONYA) was not only immediate in her response, but had even more options for me within my budget so that I did not have to necessarily settle for a vehicle that wouldn't last very long for me- As she understood I am a mother of two. I kind of NEED something to last a while.. When I came in person to check these vehicles out- I was greeted by good ol' James. JAMES RULES, btw. He's not only very easy going and fun to test drive with... but he's a hard working kind of guy who won't stop at the sight of a challenge. I have pretty terrible credit- and again- a very low budget.. James did not seem discouraged by that information and worked hard to make my dreams a reality with the 2016 Nissan I had fallen in love with. Due to my credit issues, my monthly payment estimate was higher than I could afford.. I felt crushed by that call. However; James did NOT stop there. He worked his magic and gave me a call back shortly afterward, and gave me the monthly quote that was indeed, within my budget. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! I was almost in tears, I was so happy about the news. I then ended up experiencing some challenges with an insurance company. I felt DEFEATED. James and Tonya did not let that discourage me. I thought for sure that news would mean that I did not have the opportunity to get this vehicle that my heart was so set on. They literally did all that they could in getting comparison rates, etc. Once I was insured, and things were rolling right along in terms of going in to sign paperwork- Tonya once again, reassured me that she would hold my hand, every step of the way when signing documents. She was so helpful, and easy going- I felt like a burden had been lifted to have her there with my since I do not have any family present. A little while later, I walked out a proud owner of my Nissan- and had such feeling of appreciation for the Car Toyz team. I kid you not- if it wasn't for them- Id still be a stressed out mess researching vehicles. Instead, I am right where I need to be. Proud that I own my own reliable vehicle, and I feel like I may have even gained some wonderful friends along the way. So I bought a 2008 Toyota Prius from car toyz about 6 months ago. 3 weeks ago my car suddenly stops and car toyz is who I took it to to get it fixed . NEVER AGAIN . It took 2 weeks and 4 days for me to get my car back from then & When I got it back I had to get it re towed BACK to them because my car was not able to be put in drive. Every time I call someone tells me something different. I have paid them already. They do not call back when they say they will , they don't let you know what's going on and they have had my car for almost a month now. I call yesterday they said my car would be ready by 11 am at the latest. It's 12pm right now and they tell me they are still working on it. I am LIVID . I literally just want my car back so I don't have to deal with this anymore . I will never ever come here again . read more

Took my Acura MDX here and dealt with James. My factory alarm was messing was going off randomly and suddenly had a no start situation. Had it towed to their lot. It took a while for them to get back to me they said I needed new plugs and coil packs (which were only months old) and a new battery so I bought them and brought them to the shop. My car sat there for almost a month and after multiple messages I stopped in since they were not returned. James said it also needed a drive belt and I told him I had a new one in the back. He said they would put it on bit that they weren't going to be able to do anything else. They said it runs but they didn't have time to fix it so I needed to pick it up. I told him I was out of town and would be back in 2 weeks. I stopped in when I returned and James walked with me out to my truck. I asked if anything was done because the belt still wasn't on and new battery was still sitting on floor on driver's side w some schematics. I said it's ok I will do it myself and asked for my keys. He insisted and said no it's ok we will have it ready by tomorrow. Next day, I called no answer. I kept calling. I didn't have another vehicle so had to always arrange for someone to drive me the 45 min drive. I kept calling. No response. Then I receive a message saying they are closing and all cars need to be gone. Including mine and that they hadn't done the work needed. I got there and the lot was clear. Someone made bank taking that to auction. It was clean and had rockford fasgate wiring throughout for amp hookup in the back w Alpine speakers. Insane system setup. The whole thing made me sick! Deceptive practices. Someone's getting a kickback! Thanks for kicking people where it hurts in 2020. Like anyone needed that! It sat forever without anyone working on it though I gave authorization. I asked for a print out of what was done and he said he'd get that ready for me and call me! Yeah that never happened! If you want your car back, don't risk it with them, it seems to be hit or miss or if they are feeling up to it. read more

Southern NJ is a very strange area for car enthusiasts. There really is not much around in terms of full service performance and mobile electronic installation facilities. Car Toyz is the lone place that I trust for car accessory installation. Their product prices are comparable to the legitimate online outlets, like Crutchfield. Not cheap, but there is a reason - support. If something happens, you have recourse. The staff at Car Toyz doesn't seem to change. Turnover is not good for any business OR their customers and James, the owner, knows this, so he keeps his staff together and consistent.. They have Tommie from Beacon, Paul from Beacon, Lee from One Stop and a host of other top notch pros from the area. It is a who's who if you ask me. If I had any complaints about them, it would be that they don't seem to use the enclosure building programs that have been proven to beat factory specs for performance. I know space savings is a concern but the option for building a completely optimized speaker box should be available. The customer should be quizzed about what they want to use the item for (type of music, etc) and how important it is to them to save space, and why. I also have noticed that they will say to "just bring the car in" but many times that can translate to a LONG wait. However, in the end, it is worth it. These are little things they can tweak but the end result is what counts and Car Toyz succeeds. P.S. It is funny, with businesses like this, people are less prone to take the time to review the business UNLESS they have an issue. Then they want to make noise. I wish more of Car Toyz's satisfied customers would take a minute or two to leave some positive comments for an operation that obviously is the best in the area. read more

The office staff was well versed and speedy in my transaction, as well as friendly. Car Toyz is terrific. They have installed a new radio and speakers in my F250 as well as heated seats and leather upholstery. I am extremely happy with their workmanship. Looks like factory installed. Additionally they installed heated seats on my Mustang and a hands free parrot device. Terrific work.
