But when we met Brad for our walk-through/quote, our concerns were put at rest. He was detailed, honest, and it was evident that he had a lot of experience. Overall, everyone in the company was responsive and easy to work with. Our moving team leader was James who was great to work with. He and his team helped us pack our "breakables" even in the midst of a tropical storm. Overall, the team was efficient, hard-working, and happy. They loaded everything on a Friday and arrived the following Tuesday. (They do not work on the weekends fyi.) To our knowledge, nothing was broken! The receptionist said that she would need to call me back and was going to work on getting help for us. After a couple of calls back and forth, we were able to get 2 guys to come at 1:30pm (this was all confirmed at about 12:15). Then, Desi and Mike showed up. They were professional, friendly and got the job done efficiently. They moved the items so quickly, we couldn't keep up! On one of the worst days of my life, they were able to make me laugh! I cannot tell you how thankful I am for them, they saved us! In addition, while talking to the receptionist and another young lady - everyone, was so kind and friendly and wanted to help us. Honestly, I had low expectations since this was last minute and we were desperate. Our experience was just the opposite! I cannot say enough good things about our experience. They only made one small nick in the wall, and let me know about it right away. They were pretty efficient and my move was completed entirely in the morning. I received estimates from Chapel Hill Moving Company for packing in two stages. The packers arrived on time and were polite and friendly. They were at my home for three hours. The final charge for the initial packing (including materials) was extremely high. When I spoke with Ethan, the owner of the company, he was condescending and rude to me. It became evident to me that while the company provides estimates, the actual charges at the end of the job are at or beyond the high end. Interestingly, there are other reviews that also mention the high cost of Chapel Hill Moving Company. I will be using a different company for the second packing stage and for moving, while hoping that the packing was done professionally and carefully. I recommend that others use a different packing and moving company that is reliable, professional, and (as importantly) cost-effective. Moving is too expensive to overpay when the company knows it can get away with it.
