Garlic Chicken Wings w/ Soy Sauce

The food was solid, maybe it was because I was starving but you really can't go wrong with pocha food haha. Service was slower but it was a full house so I don't blame them, I did need to ring the bell 3+ times everytime I need refills on water or the bill. Green onion chicken was good by itself, in the sauce and with the green onions so you should definitely get a plate if you like onions and don't want the hassle of eating around a bone. Garlic soy wings were decent but I think I prefer the sauce at other Korean fried chicken places, I wish I tried a different flavor. The cheese corn was surprisingly seasoned beyond just mixing corn into melted cheese. Slightly burnt on the edges when it came out but if you like it toasty like that then go for it. Kimchi Volcano fried rice with egg was a fun and cute interactive dish that really tied the meal together - I wouldn't get it if you don't ant the hassle of cooking it yourself or if you have a problem with raw eggs! It did have a strong seaweed taste which is very different from a lot of kimchi fried rices I've tried

The service was friendly and quick. I was very surprised to see how large the portions were after just looking at prices online so we ended up ordering too much and taking a lot home so I can safely say that eating here was much more economical than I assumed. The drinks were tasty and all the dishes were ordered were perfect. It is definitely a loud party spot full of various TVs playing kpop mvs and lots of hearty laughter and conversation. If you have a hard time with crowded places with a lot of competing noise, that would be the only reason I wouldn't recommend coming here. Bathrooms are basic and the tables were a bit sticky are my only real draw backs.

Came here for a friends birthday party with a large group! They were extremely accommodating and able to seat 20 of us(we had a reservation). The food was so delicious! We loved the Spicy Rice Cakes and Bulgogi, perfect amount of spice and sweetness. The watermelon soju was very fresh, but not strong at all. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

My friends and I shared the spicy rice cakes with ramen, garlic chicken wings with soy sauce, and the mango yogurt cocktail soju. All the food and drinks were super delicious and were a good portion size to share between 3 people. Ramen and cheese are both additional charges to the rice cakes if you choose to include them. My friends with lower spice tolerances did mention the rice cakes and wings were a bit spicy for them so take that into account when ordering as well. You will need to click a button if you need your server. They usually were super prompt with coming to address our needs once the button was clicked. The restaurant also celebrated a lot of birthdays at my visit and overall provided a very great atmosphere to hang out with friends later in the evening. There are plenty of seating available to accommodate various party sizes and bar as well if that is what you prefer.

Ddong Ggo is a fantastic spot, especially if you're out late and want to avoid fast food, which is usually your only option at that hour. I likw that this place stays open late--it really fills a need in the area. During my most recent visit, we arrived earlier than usual and discovered they had a happy hour. My friend and I decided to split a yogurt soju cocktail, which has always been a hit for us. For our main dishes, we each ordered bulgogi bowls. While my friend enjoyed his, I found the bulgogi bowl a bit too sweet for my taste, though I think many people would really like it. The staff was friendly and even recognized my friend since he visits often. As a nice gesture, they treated us to a couple of items on the house. It was a thoughtful touch, even though my friend opted out-he's a bit traumatized from one of the ingredients in this item lol. Overall, Ddong Ggo has a great, chill, casual vibe, capturing the essence of a casual Korean pub restaurant. It's also pretty nice to go to watch the games on their TV's. This restaurant is always a go-to option for late-night dining.

Ddong ggo (chicken butt) is a Korean pocha that serves bar food and alcohol and is open late at night. They have another location in LA. It's pretty dimly lit but I witnessed them light up the place like a club for some ones birthday. Whenever you want service, you just push a button and a server will head right over. My friends and I got the bomb fries, the spicy rice cakes, and spicy chicken wings. There were certain times in the past where I didn't have a great experience but I had a good one this time. The fries were good, the ones at the bottom were overly drenched in sauce to eat though. The spicy wings were reallly spicy but they had good flavor. And the pickled daikons are good palette cleansers. The spicy rice cakes were nice and chewy, and I love the fish cakes as well. They weren't too spicy at all.

By far my favorite Carrollton pocha!! The vibes and ambiance are great for a night out. Their music is nice and the staff do fun birthday cheers. I've also gotten several complimentary shots, which is always a bonus! Highly recommend their soju cocktails as they're some of the best I've ever had. Sweet but definitely get you feeling buzzed quick. I love their fried chicken as well as their torched chicken with cheese and tteokbokki. All of their dishes are very shareable, so I honestly think the prices are worth it.

The customer service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. We were promptly greeted by the staff, and they were quick to respond when I used the call button at our table. The ambiance was lively and dimly lit, with great music that transported me straight back to South Korea! The honey butter chicken wings were a bit on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it -- they were flavorful, fresh, and made with high-quality ingredients. The tteokbokki was also delicious, with the perfect balance of spice in the sauce. There's plenty of parking, and the bathroom was spotless. I'll definitely be back!

Everything is so good here. It does get really busy & they are open late. Came here from a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Start off by getting the WHOLE WATERMELON SOJU (if it's available) so you get the party started early. Then order the KOREAN STYLE BIG EGG ROLL for the appetizer to share with the rest of the table. It's really, really big. And since this establishment gives off "Korean pub", you have to order the HONEY BUTTER CHICKEN WINGS. The flavor profile on those wings is *chefs kiss*. For your main dish, get the FRESH GRILLED THIN PORK BELLY. Juicy cuts of marinated pork belly will do the job every single time! Highly recommend this place, especially if you want a chill night out with friends. The dishes are definitely shareable and the place is an overall good time. Tip: when its your birthday, let them know :)

My friends and I came on a Saturday evening, so pretty occupied. I found pressing the button for service to be convenient, since my group and I tend to be indecisive, but overall the service was good! The ambiance was a bit loud, but it's to be expected. It's a nice place to catch up with friends & have a good time. As for the food, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the stir-fried chicken with cheese! The chicken was prepared well & the addition of cheese + corn makes it a perfect 3-in-1 order (good for indecisive people). The spicy seafood soup was moderately spicy, good to eat with a heavy meal, but nothing special. In addition, the honey butter chicken had a bit too much powder on the top; good crunch, but I've tasted better fried chicken. Personally, I would've prefer if the honey butter flavor was more subtle. Food is good, but for what you get, it is on the pricier end. Would return for the spicy stir-fried chicken with cheese, and possibly other dishes!

Fishcake Soup, Shake Fries, Korean Style Big Egg Roll

I love coming here for late night snacks/food and drinks with friends! They're open late and have a wide range of Korean dishes to choose from. Service is efficient as well with call buttons at your table. I visit this place pretty often and have tried the seafood pancake, assorted fish cake soup, steam big egg roll, shake fries, and kimchi fried rice. My favorites are definitely the shake fries and fish cake soup so far. The shake fries seasoning is soo good and addictive (a little sweet, salty, and cheesy) and the dish comes with three types of fries! The broth for the fish cake soup was delicious and goes well with soju. The other dishes I've tried are still good although probably not something I'd care to order again. Dishes are a bit on the pricier size but the portions are huge!! I recommend trying this place out for some soju and Korean snacks, especially later in the night with friends. It gets pretty lively during the weekend and it's a fun and cozy place to hang out :)

Guess what, chicken butt! Ddong Ggo TX is one of the best Korean chicken and beer places I've ever been to in the US. It's great for large groups and they expect that. The staff is real nice and make you feel special when it's your birthday with a sparkling candle and loud music. I highly recommend ordering these two dishes: - Cheese Island (don't forget to let the cheese melt before grabbing something!) - Honey Butter Chicken Wings Can't wait to go back someday!

But while this is a very prestigious endorsement, my past visit wasn't up to previous visits. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - There are several tables with built in grills and private rooms, and we didn't use our grill, but I was a bit uncomfortable in the restaurant. It was really hot in the restaurant, and I'm not sure they turned down the A/C. Aside from that, the restaurant is nice and clean. You can also check the meat display case for the beef and pork cuts on display. 1/2 Star. Service - Our server was very nice. He brought out water and another server brought all the wonderful Korean sides. The service was superb and is a reason they would have landed in D Magazine's Best issue. 1 Star. Food - The menu has been updated, and prices have gone up (everywhere). But my main issue was the Kalbi wasn't very tender. In fact, I had to use my hands to pull the meat from the bone. Granted, I always use this technique when eating Kalbi, but this time it took more effort. The marinated, grilled beef still had a delicious, sweet Korean flavor, and the Seafood Pancake is a must order. Overall, though, I've had a better experience in my past visits. 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I've been going to Koryo for years. I hope their recognition in D Magazine wasn't a signal for them that they've made it and stopped trying. I'm pretty loyal and will come back, and I hope they improve. 1 Star.

I do think prices were slightly on the higher end and service was a little slow, but again, given the circumstances, I personally did not mind. There is an impressive selection of banchan that could almost be a full meal in itself. They were all very fresh and high quality. I ordered the galbi and spicy cold noodles. The galbi came on a sizzling plate. It was tender and flavorful. However, it was expensive, at almost the same price of dinner AYCE KBBQ. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the spicy cold noodles, not because it was bad, but more so due to personal preference. The portion size was very generous though. My family ordered the shrimp fried rice and bulgogi quesadilla. The fried rice was very solid; it had good flavor, texture, and they nailed the portion of vegetables, protein, and rice. The bulgogi quesadilla was also delicious and I appreciate the creativity. The combination of bulgogi, japchae, and cheese might sound sacrilegious to some, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I walked in, the place was empty. I stood at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for way longer than necessary--especially since there were no other customers. After being seated, I was actually enjoying the music until I felt something sticky on my forearm. It was a stray bean sprout left on the table (Bad Impression #2). To make matters worse, the tables are incredibly low. Even at my height, I had to hunch over the entire time. I eventually gave up on table manners and just held the rice bowl up to my face to eat comfortably. Regarding the food: it was a bit salty. The kimchi fried rice was average, but the kimchi stew really missed the mark. That was the moment I realized this is a fusion spot, not authentic Korean. It wasn't horrible, but it's definitely different from the real thing. BUT, can we talk about the massive portions? (Good Impression #1). Everything is clearly meant to be shared. The service was actually good. They have a buzzer on the table for service, which I loved. It saves you from having to track down a waiter. (Good Impression #2). The ambiance is loud, poppy, and "hip." You better like K-pop if you're coming here. The restaurant shines with its premium, high-quality meats--sourced thoughtfully, including standout options from 44 Farms--carefully selected and prepared by Michelin-recognized chefs. Whether you go for the popular Taste of JOA (Signature or Premier boards) or individual cuts, the beef and pork options consistently impress with rich marination, perfect tenderness, and that satisfying sizzle on the grill. Popular favorites that reviewers rave about include the marinated bone-in short rib (galbi), prime short rib, ribeye, hanger steak, pork belly, and specialties like flash-fried short ribs or shrimp. The meats arrive beautifully presented, cook evenly at the table, and deliver deep, savory flavors--often described as juicy, flavorful, and reminiscent of authentic home-style Korean cooking elevated with premium technique. Sides (banchan) are a highlight: fresh, generous, and "unreal" according to many, with standouts like mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, steamed egg soufflé, corn cheese, kimchi fried rice, and soybean paste stew (doenjang jjigae) that round out the meal perfectly. The experience wraps up sweetly with ice cream for a complete, shareable feast ideal for groups or celebrations. The atmosphere enhances everything: lively, stylish, and vibrant with a sleek, modern interior featuring neon accents that feels fun and energetic without being overwhelming--perfect for date nights, family gatherings, or special occasions. Service earns frequent praise for being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, with staff guiding first-timers through the grilling process. Cocktails and drink towers add to the festive vibe, pairing beautifully with the smoky, savory food. Nuances and considerations: Pricing reflects the premium ingredients and experience (Taste of JOA runs around $42-$54+ per person, with upgrades for A5 Wagyu or larger parties), so value opinions vary--some see it as worth every penny for the quality and fun interactive element, while others note it can feel a bit higher-end for casual dining. A few reviews mention occasional inconsistencies in service pacing during busy times or subtle variations in ambiance depending on the crowd, but the majority describe it as consistently enjoyable and welcoming. Portions work best when shared, and the interactive grilling adds a social, hands-on layer that many love (bring a group to maximize the fun). Note that as of recent updates, the restaurant has been temporarily closed--check their website, social media, or call ahead for current status before planning your visit. Overall, JOA Grill excels at blending tradition with innovation: fire-kissed premium cuts, abundant flavorful sides, creative cocktails, and a lively yet comfortable setting make it a standout choice for anyone craving high-quality Korean BBQ in Dallas. It's frequently called one of the best in the city for good reason--great for meat lovers, groups, and those seeking an elevated yet fun dining adventure.

Took me a while to write this, but I came back here because I had a good dinner here and decided to…read moredo a Korean bbq closer to my home. We were even greeted with a welcome back and given a welcome back coupon, which I loved, so the night started out well. Now for context to my frustration, last time we went here, our server cooked everything, so we only came back because we wanted to go to a Korean bbq specifically where they cooked the meat for you as well. Apparently, that isn't the norm. We ordered drinks and then waited a substantial amount of time before the servers came back to ask for our food order. Literally the table next to us ordered before us and we're basically near the end of their meal before we even ordered. Mind you, we were seated right in the thick of where the servers go in and out of the kitchen and you can see everything going on (or lack of anything). Drinks took forever to come and they started cooking one of the meats and then never came back. They kept walking past our table and not saying anything. We had to tell them that we needed help and asked if someone was going to cook for us. They apologized and would start cooking again only when we complained, but then would proceed to leave and not come back until we asked again. They kept giving us excuses that they were short staffed, which is understandable, but not when we can see them literally doing nothing about it. There was no sense of urgency or trying to work harder since they were understaffed. They would stand at the little computer at the door to the kitchen looking like they were doing something, while the rest of the restaurant was being ignored. We mentioned to them multiple times that we were being ignored and they offered to take care of us with dessert or maybe comp something at the end. At this point, I'm quiet because I'm visibly annoyed by the incompetence and got to the point where I didn't even want to talk to the staff anymore. I kinda have RBF, so I know they were feeling my frustration. We were almost done eating and were waiting for them to start cooking the shrimp, which was the last meat on our combo, and the server came by and asked if we wanted the check. I was like, "we aren't even done eating, we were waiting for someone to cook the shrimp." Now if they initially told us that we would be cooking, this all wouldn't be a problem, but we were under the impression that they would cook our food, which was the root of the entire service problem we were having. Finally, they came by with desserts that were on the house, even though I really wanted them to just comp something instead, but they didn't give us the option. We didn't even want dessert, but were forced to eat it because they felt it was a good solution to the problems with service. They even asked if we wanted a shot on the house, but I didn't want to drink alcohol that night, and when I refused, they teased me about it. It's my business if I want to drink or not, but don't assume everyone thinks alcohol solves everything. That left a sour note in my mind and sealed the deal that we won't come back. For how expensive this restaurant is, they need to have top tier service, and this was not it. I suggest you stay away!

My brother and sister brought me here, and I'm glad they did. I've been to their sister location in…read moreRichardson. This one is the original, and it has a completely different vibe. When you walk in, you're greeted, and the atmosphere is great. It's a small, cozy spot, which I really like. They do get pretty busy on weekends, especially during dinner time, so it's a good idea to call and double-check. They also accept reservations. The food was excellent; everything came out perfectly and tasted delicious. My favorite was the bulgogi--it was nice and tender. I highly recommend this location if you're craving some good Korean BBQ.

Really enjoyed lunch time. At this time lunch is M-Th until 3:30 PM. It was quite busy when we…read morearrived. But seated in a timely manner. Server was very polite but it was obvious they were understaffed by a lot. 1 server and whole restaurant was full. Regardless, server did a great job keeping up. Food: Side dishes: the kimchi, cucumber kimchi, spicy fish cake were great. The salad was okay. The japchae noodles were mediocre. And the pickled daikon didn't taste like they used much vinegar. Dipping sauces were all great. Sesame oil, samjang blend, a sweet and spicy sauce. Meat: enjoyed the brisket, beef belly, pork belly, beef finger meat, Hawaiian pork belly. The Galbi marinade would have been better with the finger meat marinade. Overall had a great meal and would come again. Hopefully will be better staffed next time!
