H Mart is the best for Korean groceries (makes sense), but there's enough overlap that you don't really need to come here for most things. On the other hand, the prepared food here is great! I'm a huge fan of the sushi and sashimi, which are a great deal for the quality of the fish (and which I would not get at 99 Ranch).

I have tried some of the prepared food from the deli and while I found it pretty good (the bento boxes in particular are very satisfying), they are too pricey for me to buy regularly. Especially for being mostly side dishes and staple foods (think whole roasted sweet potatoes, potato salad, simple stuff like that). What I really like about H Mart and 90% of the reason I come by semi-regularly is the fresh sushi and sashimi. The fish is always fresh and I've saved a lot of money over the years by getting my sushi fixes here instead of at a restaurant. The rice can be a little hard as it's all refrigerated, but that's my only minor gripe. Would definitely recommend it overall.

As I was buying my sausages. soft pretzels, and potato salad, the lady said very little to me and the gentleman, nothing at all. When I tried speaking German, the lady said she didn't remember much of the language anymore. This blunt, "tell it like it is" way of interacting is pretty much how my family used to be, so I found it familiar -- even comforting. But it's easy to see how this can rub people the wrong way, especially if they're used to American (or even modern German) - style customer service. Everyone who found this rude is making reasonable statements. But to me this is more a case of people who have been doing the same thing for a long time without making updates. Decor-wise, place also seems to recreating the Germany that someone remembers from decades ago. The blue and white bunting, the beer steins, the picture of the Pope and other memorabilia make the place feel distinctly Bavarian, in a touristy way. A lot of places in Germany, even in the more traditional south have moved on. But my hope is that this place does continue until the proprietors retire with dignity or sell the business to some German-Americans with a passion for prepping and selling this type of food.

There are 2 little restaurants tucked inside: one featuring ramen and another featuring hand rolls. I believe these are independently owned because you pay for your food on the spot. They also have a very nice serve-yourself-buffet. Grab a container at the start and fill it with whatever strikes your fancy. You pay for your container of food by the pound at check out. They offer a variety of things including popcorn chicken, chicken skewers, beef ribs, tempura, potatoes cakes, and Spam fried rice. I picked up popcorn chicken and Spam fried rice today and I enjoyed both! Right next to the buffet there's a station that cranks out fresh (packaged) sushi. I had to get back on task to look for the kelp noodles! I ended up asking one of the employees for assistance. Lucky for me, he happened to be in charge of the noodle section. Unfortunately, they currently don't carry kelp noodles. Frankly, I'd never heard of them, so now I'm wondering if my son sent me on a wild goose chase The store in general is nicely organized and clean. Aisles are labeled to make it easy to find the general area of what you're looking for if you're new to the store like I was. Overall, a pleasant experience. The hot food buffet will draw me back for sure!!

I tried the bulgogi gimbap/kimpab, it was really tasty and nicely made. There's two marinated vegetables in there so it made very flavorful (but not salty). The ingredients are fresh. They currently only have bulgogi and ham, but I hope they will have gobo soon. The sandwich ($6.50) was great as well. The ingredients are fresh and nicely seasoned. A great breakfast or lunch option. The portion is large enough for a meal. There are banchan in the fridge. I bought the radish one, nicely seasoned. There's a hint of spiciness and sweetness, a good balance of the two. I would definitely come back to try out more things, especially the sweet potatoes in the fall/winter and Kimpab. Despite the smaller size, they carried several specialty items I haven't been able to find at 99 Ranch. QUALITY The produce was very fresh. I cooked the bok choy a week later and it was still green and crunchy. Prices were very competitive--I actually found the meat to be about a dollar cheaper per pound on average. SERVICE I've seen a lot of reviews mentioning service issues, but personally I don't mind a more indifferent vibe at Asian grocery stores--it kind of comes with the territory. That said, the cashier I had was extremely friendly and even helped me sign up for a membership. I would definitely come back/ recommend this grocery store to others!

They have a deli area and seafood area. What's interesting is that they have live turtles for sale! They also have the usual fresh lobster and crabs for sale as well. They also have some cheap sale items on their sidewalk. But upon close inspection the food and snacks were already expired. Also some snacks said to store in cool dry area and here it was out in the open sun! Overall it's quite large and you can find a lot of items here. Service just isn't good. They barely speak any English and I got frustrated when I was next in line trying to make my purchase and another customer cuts in front of me and asks the cashier to see how much money he had on his debit card. Umm excuse me?!! There's a line! I spoke to them about getting in line but they didn't speak any English and just proceeded with what they were doing. On top of this the cashier mischarged my packet of dried longnan. She said the machine was not night and I told her that's not what the sale price was on the shelf. So she told me to go back and take a photo and show her. When I came back with the photo I had thought she was going to continue with my checkout. Unfortunately I was wrong. In fact she had started working on checking out another customer. Come to find out this was the wife of that rude customer from before that cut in line. Ugg!!! I had to wait again! By the way my photo is the same price was correct. She had to ask a manager to override it and I heard in Chinese that they will use the higher price for future customers. Not good. Located in the same plaza as Grocery Outlet and has a large parking lot in the front. Even though I come to Grocery Outlet a lot, I don't think I will be visiting Galleria Supermarket anytime soon.
