Service is friendly and helpful, atmosphere light, bright and beachy. Menu is a nice mix of appetizers, salads, soups, tacos, entrees and sides. Our server was extremely helpful in making sure that what I ordered was gluten free and even took out her own phone to show me a graphic of the menu ingredients and allergens. My daughter and I shared the chips and guac - authentic tasting and nice, dense and crunchy chips, though a little pricey for the portion. She had a side of the Cheesy Mac for her meal. It was nicely sized and we took home half of it for later. I ordered the tacos and salad lunch special. The Summer Salad mix of arugula, watermelon, feta salad was tasty, though there was a bit too much dressing and it really didn't need much at all. The two tacos I chose were the Seared Tuna and the Grilled Fish which was hake. Both tacos were solid in terms of taste. My biggest issue was that these were so tiny and not substantive in terms of the ingredients. I expect $5/$6+ tacos to be larger sized and portioned. The idea of smaller tacos with intention of ordering many if doing à la carte works if they are priced appropriately. If the location was actually direct waterfront, it might be easier to justify the price of the teeny, tiny tacos! Didn't try any of the drinks, though they looked interesting and refreshing. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Flambe catch of the day, it was Fluke. I also had Tuna Tartare and a Crab cake. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish was very fresh. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside. The reasons I am not giving 5 stars is because the menu was so hard to read. The name of the dish is a 10 font and the ingredients are a 4 font. At the door I was told that class was about to be cancelled due to pending storms (in a rude manner) Ok, but a very last minute call, at that point I already had a baby sitter and we already had ubered there. We sat anyway and it was empty at this point, we put in drink orders and an app and then our meal order and we got our food before the drinks even came. Now as we are sitting at 6:20 I do get a text saying the class was cancelled, again very last minute. The margarita was very good but the service was so slow that I couldn't have even ordered another and never had food come out before the drinks. We also had chips and guac as an appetizer and basically all the chips were stale tasting. I love a good taco spot so this was very disappointing. Now it's 7/8 and I still haven't received a refund from the class which I spent $200 on. I have called twice with no return phone call and it is very unprofessional to have to keep calling to receive a refund when i understand it was a holiday weekend but it has been days now. Just came home from Ditch. I'm writing the review as I'm waiting for my pizza to be delivered. I'm starving! Ambience is pretty much the same as when it was "Swept Away". New paint, very nice, light & open atmosphere. We ate at the bar & ordered the Baja tacos, calamari, truffle fries & a pork carne taco. 2 bartenders, guy & girl. Girl was pleasant but, not very personable. The guy was better at reading his customers & engaged in some witty banter. He was attentive & professional as well. when I ordered the tacos the bartender asked how many? I found that odd. normally, you just order them and they come out, 2,3,4 whatever. So, I ordered four Baja tacos. The food took a little longer than it should but, not horrible. The tacos were very small. a little bit bigger than my thumb. Two of these equal the size of a regular taco. At six dollars a piece it was ridiculous. If you're going to have tapas style small plates, don't charge full size prices. $24 for 4 tiny tacos. The tacos had some sort of fried fish or shrimp. I honestly couldn't tell. They were cold & flavorless. The truffle fries were good but, extremely small. The calamari never made it out. They musta forgot. But, then again so did we lol. The bill came & the calamari was on there. The male bartender apologized & removed it. As I looked around u could tell that people were there eager to give it a try. I saw a lot of customers waiting around for drinks & food. I know that this is a new restaurant so, I won't beat 'em up too bad. I'll go back in a few weeks & try again. A few more bullet points for the owners to consider...Ur menus are printed too tiny & hard to read. If u screw up or forget an order, buy a round or give the customer the item in a to go bag. Our waitress was great and the drinks, Frozen Paloma and Da Painkiller, were delicious. The food was very tasty but the portions were embarrassingly small! I can't imagine a place could confidently serve one thin slice of pork belly, one little piece of chicken and one shrimp in tacos that were $6 each! I mean c'mon!! They were literally three bites each and gone. Plus, the tacos were all mixed up and we had to figure out whose was whose. The calamari and PEI Mussels were also very good but, again, the smallest portions I've ever been served anywhere. We paid $120 with tip and both went home hungry and had to eat something else. I would give this place 4.5 stars if they doubled the portions and/or lowered the prices. Otherwise, just 3 stars, and I won't be going back. There's much better value almost anywhere else. We have been to Ditch a few times now. The location is cute but the acoustics can be tough when there is live music. This time around the weather was beautiful so we sat outside. Service is good and drinks come out quickly but the food is subpar. I do like the tacos but tonight I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had a burger and they were both just ok. When our party of four arrived I used the Ladies room. There wasn't any hand soap. Bottle completely empty. Looked underneath in vanity and there was a large empty hand soap bottle. We were very happy with both the food and service, as well as the bright and happy decor, which felt like a little slice of San Diego right in Bay Shore. The staff were very friendly and attentive to my MIL's food allergy. We ordered the tacos, which were able to be modified to be dairy-free, but were still really tasty. My FIL, who can be particular about food, ordered a soup and the Kalefornia salad, both of which he said were very good. We will definitely come back. The setting is near the water away from car traffic with a field of boats 'parked' on land in view. The interior is beautifully simple and clean. Spacing between the tables is perfect - no need to suck in your gut to squeeze by others. The music is at the right level - bright and cheery. We went on a sunny day and they kept the windows open which was refreshing. We started with the duck wings that were delicious although on the sweet side. The clam chowder was tasty, but could have been served a bit warmer. We then had the very flavorful grilled fish and the tuna tacos. Ditch has a bright, welcoming coastal surfer vibe and we stopped in for lunch today. We sat at the bar and Olivia greeted us and explained some of the signature cocktails. I had the rum punch which very good, not too sweet. The fried calamari was crispy and delicious, as were the Happy Hour wings. We then ordered the spicy chicken taco (I was warned it is spicy and it is-but I could handle it) and the pork carnita taco-excellent!
