My teenage son and I wanted to find a good old-fashioned arcade. We are new to the area having moved from California some months ago. It's a nice place to take your kids, they recently switched to modern arcade machines as opposed to what it used to be. That means you have to go to a kiosk and buy a card. I miss the old machines and using tokens which is why I'd go there in the first place. I walked in there a couple months ago and walked out immediately when I saw it modernized. Diversions game room is awesome. I've been there several times and I can say that it is relatively cheap, clean and can provide hours of entertainment. The greatest thing about this arcade is they carry machines that are slowly disappearing from modern arcades such as Time Crisis 2, House of the Dead, Terminator Salvation, and Guitar Hero Arcade. These games are especially special to me because of the nostalgia, and looking back through other people's reviews from years before, they used to have many more rail shooter type games as well (Carnevil, etc). As soon as I stepped into this arcade I felt as if I was transported back to the Malibu Castle arcade. I know the owner reads reviews, so I want to thank you for keeping a part of my childhood alive. If there's any chance you get the opportunity to expand your arcade, maybe in a bigger building, please consider bringing back the "phased out" games of the past if at all feasible. read more

Liked this stand alone arcade. They are older games but it's everything you need to have a good time. It runs on tokens so you have to get cash and convert it. Most games are about three coins and will require you to reload in order to continue the game. They are open till 2 am so it could make for a fun sober night out. read more

Great experience here today with my kiddos! First time ever coming. It was a great way to spend time together while having fun in the A/C!!! Plenty of different games to play for everyone. Awesome oversight by staff and the manager keeping the place clean and making sure people and kids don't get too outta control. The manager was very sweet to give my daughter a few free credits on an arcade game and showed her how to play the game! Classic arcade room! I love coming here. My kids love coming here. My wife loves coming here. They've got some pretty classic arcade games, most from the 90's, but a few newer and a few older as well. There's a nice mix of genres. They have classic runners, PACMAN of course, Metal Slug, a few arcade machines with multi-game setups; Plenty of racing games with dual setups to race your friends; Shooters, including Time Crisis 2 and Jurassic Park; A pretty good number of fair skill grab games with prizes that aren't just junk too. There's an air hockey table, but it's hit or miss whether it works or not on any given night. There's always somebody on staff to make things right if it doesn't. The only thing that seems to be missing are head-to-head combat games like Virtua Fighter, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat. I don't know whether this is intentional or not, but it doesn't matter. There's something for everyone here. As you can see from the photos, the light level is good, not too bright, not too dark. It can get a little warm inside, but on hot days it still beats outdoors! Twenty bucks buys you at least an hour for a date. Half hour if you're bringing a handful of kids. Speaking of kids, there's generally a mix of kids and adult patrons. Staff walks around regularly monitoring everything. I've never been there where someone is causing a scene or acting a fool. There's no ticket counter, this is strictly an arcade. No food is served besides claw machine candy, and no drink besides a single vending machine serving 16 oz sodas for six tokens (equivalent to a buck). Machines take tokens. This is so you can pay to play with a credit card. (VISA rules.) You can also get tokens from one of the two machines just inside the entrance. The more tokens you buy, the more bonus tokens you get. I bring my kids here a lot, honestly. It's a good break to get them out of the house in bad or hot weather for a little while. read more

I was hangin' out with my son and we were trying to find something to do after lunch and guess what. Yelp didn't let us down! He wanted to play arcade games, but it was on a weekend afternoon and I don't go to those huge chain places full of screaming kids, trampolines, bowling, and everything else under one roof. Diversions is NOTHING like those places. Only a few kids in there and they were a bit older, so it wasn't a mad house. There were no tantrums thrown (by me or the kids) and it was very clean. We were in there for an hour and a half and only spent $20 total (that's because of our MAD arcade game skillz - we are really THAT good LOL). Really good selection of arcade games, a few older ones and a lot of recent ones. NOTE: it's cash only, so make sure you come prepared. The games seem to average about 3 tokens but some of the bigger dual player games are 4 tokens and air hokey is 6 tokens (see picture for token prices). Every single game we played worked, so that's a definite plus. They have plenty of those crane games, for those who dig that. No food but they do have a few sodas, bottled water and Gatorade for purchase. I couldn't find ANYTHING wrong with this place and trust me, I tried to (just as you do on a first date). Love this place! I came upon this place googling for arcades and this retro arcade came up! This place has many classic games and so many prize redemption games too! The prices per play here are so cheap at 2 tokens. The owner as well as really friendly and he could be seen walking around giving out free plays and showing customers how to play his games. Today was our first time going. It's difficult to find a place to take 3 kids that are at 3 different age levels, while on a budget, while also being limited on mobility. My husband found this online and sent it to me to try. My last $20. The one you hide in your wallet for a rainy day. Split between 3 kids and let them each go their own way. Perfect! All behaved. When the 5 year old and 9 year old ran out of coins we waited for the 11 year old to be done... the gentleman working noticed the kids playing on the dance machine and noticed that we were just waiting on the last kid. He went over to them and started it for them! He was so sweet! He let them dance their little hearts out! We will definitely return! It wasn't crazy busy in there so I was able to comfortably wobble around to keep track of them. I thought for sure I would be pulling my hair out, but it was easy and pleasant. I grew up going to this arcade room and now my own teenager goes here with his friends. We been in and out of this place since 1992. This was a staple of my childhood all the way into my adulthood.Went with high school friends,dates and I am super happy it's still going strong after all these years gone by.I went to their 2 other locations too back in the day.Tokens are super inexpensive. There is no food drinks or smoking inside the place but they have a few good places to eat in the area and it is very centrally located,near the mall and on a major bus line.This place is a treasured relic. Growing up, this was the place to be with all new games and everyone just chose this place to go to. So this was like the "cool" kids place to be, over the years it kind of got forgotten. I have good memories of this place here and hope it never closes. 5 stars for keeping this establishment true to the original, would like to see some newer games in the place but will still go back and play all the games they have here. Not bad. Most of the games work and there is a friendly attendant and at ATM in the back corner. Note: Bring cash. ATM fee is $3.95. The look of the place brings back Nostalgia about the game places that used to always be in the malls. I think this place could use a carpet cleaning or something because it smells very musty inside, however, for the price its great! $5 gets you 25 tokens and most games are 2-3 tokens each player. The games overall are not too bad and I like the feel of the place. I'll give it 3 stars because it also has fairly good prices. However, the claw machines are absolutely impossible to win. I'm typically pretty good at claw machines. Nevertheless, the claw strength was abysmal. You have to go for the absolutely smallest toys in it to maybe win. I know y'all are trying to make money but it was disappointing and frustrating. My friend and I just wanted one prize. I recommended this place to my friend because I used to come here as a kid but unfortunately I was disappointed.
