I admit I'm not big on cake or baked goods on the whole. I prefer ice cream but occasionally I want cake. I've been looking for a GOOD slice of cake for literal months. My go to use to be Whole Foods Chocolate Explosion Cake, moist, not too sweet, & always tasted the same. Then WF was bought by Amazon and the quality went down hill. I checked out Nugget and various other bakeries from the east coast to the west coast and nothing satisfied. Some were too sweet. Others were too dry. This is a drink review only. Assam milk tea is just what it is...black tea with milk and sugar. I got it iced and it was perfect on a hot day, although I think it was missing some boba. That would've elevated the drink experience. They also don't ask you the sugar level, but I'm sure I could have asked for less sugar. This is also a bakery and not a drink speciality shop. It was my first time visiting, I've heard of this franchise before but wasn't aware there was one in Roseville so I was super excited to try. The Matcha Latte wasn't anything special, tasted decent but probably wouldn't order again. I did enjoy the pastries but I would probably come earlier in the day so they're fresh. I spent $20.68 after tip for 4 items. They have a cute aesthetic and good amount of seating as well. Can definitely be an area to get any work done if needed. Came in one morning to get a birthday cake. It was about 8am and was surprised to see many shelves still empty. But they had some of my favorites out so that wasn't a problem. I noticed they had the famous Korean garlic cream cheese bread and had to get it. I also got the mango cake. The garlic cream cheese bread was good. Definitely needs to be eaten warm so the cream cheese is nice and gooey. The topping isn't exactly what I expected but it still tasted good. The mango cake is heaven!! It's light and filled with mango chunks. And like with any Asian bakery, it's not too sweet! Really the best compliment you can get! read more

This is place is so cute and the pastries are delicious. Came in and everyone was really friendly. I liked how they had the trays and tongs at the front door, so you can go straight to the glass cabinets. There were so many options, we didn't know what to pick. I was so excited to visit this new coffee/pastry shop. All the savory and sweet items look delicious, and the ones I picked up were very tasty. I'm already looking forward to going back and picking up some more goodies. This first time I decided to pick up the Portuguese egg custard, the spinach feta, the caramel apple, and the garlic sausage items. Each of them had such good flavor and were very flaky. I also ordered the iced tiramisu latte and it was very sweet, but in a good way and not in an overwhelming way. It was even topped off with cacao powder so it looked very pretty. Came by to try some pastries after hearing about this place and finally being in the area. It reminds me of 85°C Bakery where you grab a tray and tongs to grab pastries. Got the apple pastries, blueberry cream cheese bread, custard bun, and some cream filled donuts. They were all good and I'd definitely return if in the area again. I placed an order online Friday for pickup Sunday afternoon. On Sunday I was running behind, so I called them 30 minutes before scheduled pickup time and said I would be in to pickup the cake, but that I would be late. The gentleman on the phone said he would write a note for his coworkers. Made it to the bakery an hour after I called and was able to buy some extra treats for the drive home. Our cake was ready. Looked delicious, came with a plastic serrated cake server with two matches and some candles (thank goodness because the ones I had purchased for the cake broke in transit!) It smelled delicious inside and had they had lot of patrons. I was unaware they had coffee as well. We grabbed a matcha donut, strawberry tiramisu, and milk cream bread togo. We really enjoyed our breakfast here, everything was very fresh. The restaurant was clean and had a good amount of seating. Blueberry cheese pastry - 10/10, so flaky, perfectly balanced level of sweetness. Chocolate hazelnut croissant - 9/10, again, flaky and fresh. The chocolate amount was a really good ratio to the dough and the croissant was not super dense and dry. The top was almost caramelized with hardened sugar. Vanilla donut - 10/10, very strong vanilla bean filling for the cream. The donut itself was very light and soft, coated in sugar. Chocolate donut itself- 5/10, the chocolate flavor was so light you could barely taste it. It didn't pair well with the whipped cream filling. Same light and fully donut on the exterior. Chocolate chip cookie - 8/10, this was surprising because it was filled with a layer of chocolate on top of the chocolate chips. A solid cookie. Sweet corn and cheese bagel bites - 6/10, these were very weird. They were mislabeled as a cinnamon bagel bite, so not what I was expecting. The flavor itself was okay, just not something I would order again. The inside was a cheese paste with sweet corn kernels mixed in. I saw a YouTuber Vid on Tous Les Jours the other day and found out they have a location here in Roseville. I was in town for work, so what the heck! I wish I still lived here in Rocklin, but I'd definitely gain some weight if this place was nearby. This location is in a nice shopping center with lots of parking and some tables outside to enjoy you tasty treats. Inside, is all very clean and I was here early and there were no crowds. You just grab a tray, some waxed paper and tongs and grab what you want. All the food are in cases with sliding doors. I just browsed and took what looked good. Of course I had to try the almond croissant, and I pick this beautiful custard almond filled pretzel. Then there was this chocolate filled pastry that looked interesting called an Avalanche. The service to pay was easy, the staff, rang it up and it all came out on a clear receipt. Credit I think is the preferred payment here, it was so easy. Coffee is available here if you like as well. I sat outside in the nice morning temps and enjoyed my treats. OMG, were these things so good. My first bite into that custard almond filled pastry, I closed my eyes and felt that cloud of happiness descend down upon my head .... ohhh life is good! Tous les Jours means "every day" in French. It is a South Korean bakery franchise that is French-Asian-inspired. There are trays and tongs for you to pick out your baked goods. I never heard of a soboro before, but it's a Korean sweet bun with a streusel-like topping and custard filling. I enjoyed it a lot. The topping is like HK pineapple buns. I also ordered a green tea cream cake. It had too much cream. It was kind of pricy at $7 a slice. I wanted to try the iced pumpkin spice matcha, but was told they had no pumpkin spice. Tous Les Jours isn't new to me--my brother introduced me to them in Livermore! Everyone who knows me knows how much I love pastries and coffee. I arrived at 7:55 AM on Friday, and if you're planning to go, I'd recommend stopping by around 8:30-9:00 AM for the best selection since they're still baking and putting out fresh pastries early in the morning. The bakery itself is bright, clean, and very pleasing to the eye. For those who might feel intimidated walking into a new place and not knowing how it works, I've got you covered! The pastries are self-serve. As you walk in, you'll find trays, parchment paper, and tongs to your right. Simply grab a tray, lay the paper on it, and use the tongs to pick out your pastries. You'll notice sliding screens over the pastry displays--just slide them open to take what you want. There are also individually wrapped pastries you can add to your tray. Cakes are displayed separately and are not self-serve (for obvious reasons). If you'd like one, just ask the baker for assistance. Once you're ready to check out, the baker will ring you up. And don't forget to check out their drinks menu--there are so many options! If you'd like to enjoy your treats there, they also have plenty of seating available. As for the pastries, I grabbed a variety since this location is in Roseville and I live in Folsom. It's a bit of a drive, but I was determined to bring these to a meeting. My selection included the Guava Danish, Chocolate Avalanche, Vanilla Cream Donut, Strawberry and Cream Croissant, Blueberry and Cream Cheese Danish, and an Egg Puff Pastry. My colleagues loved them! The most common comment I heard was, "They're too pretty to eat!" I also tried the Ube Latte with almond milk. While it was good, it wasn't something I'd go out of my way to order again. First heard about Tous Les Jours last year when my son was in New York City. So delighted that we now have one close by! The store has a great variety of cakes, pastries and baked goods. I did see some sandwiches too but not a whole lot. They were chicken salad (= If you've been to Paris Baguette, TLJ, is pretty much the same. Every time I come here, the employees are friendly and the store is clean. I always grab some milk bread rolls, which are a perfect light snack. Though I finished every morsel and left the small casual place quite happily sugared up these pastries will not send you swooning. This is Roseville, not Vienna or Paris. But I complain too much. The 3 I ate are wwwwaaayyy better than supermarket pastries, even Nugget market offerings. Review is for pre-ordering/pick up cake only. Called Thursday afternoon to order a Cloud cake #5 for Sunday 5:15pm pick up. The guy on the phone took my order with the custom message on the cake. Said that customization is $3 more - which is not a problem. He said, pay at pickup on Sunday 2/22 5:15. I want to preface this .. it's not my 1st time ordering from this location or from Tous Les Jours and since it's their largest size cake, I dont take any chances and always preorder the Cloud #5. I arrived Sunday 2/22 at around 5:20 to pick up the cake, just to find that they literally sold the cake to a customer right before me. The only other available cake was the cloud #4 which feeds 12 to 15. My cake is for a party of 20!!! So .. yes 1 star only for their Screw Up. This place has good selection of pastries if you get there in time, but if you're late then you're out of luck for many of the items as they don't always restock. The staff are kind and there to answer your questions should you have any and the store is well organized and clean. Love the pastries and the shop itself has the cutest ambiance. Lower rating because of the cheesecake. I love their pastries so much and assumed their cheesecake would be just as good. I purchased a full cheesecake on 12/19 and the texture was very crumbly, seemed like something was off in their ingredient ratios - not creamy at all, every bite just crumbled. It cost $40 and we threw it away because it was so hard to eat. Super disappointing because it was for my birthday. Finally had the chance to try this French Asian bakery. They have a big selection of baked goods and pastries to choose from. They also have coffee & tea. There were a lot of items that looked really good. We ended up getting the following: - Portuguese egg tart - Yuzu pie - Belgium waffle - Milk cream bread - Honeydew melon bread - Custard bun - Honey cheese mochi pancake I also got a honey lavender matcha latte. Everything was pretty good except for the pancake which I thought was just ok. My faves would be the egg tart, melon bread and milk cream bread. They did forget to make my latte.
